Help with uninstalling Elements 10 and installing Lightroom 4

Help - trying to install Lightroom 4 but I need to also uninstall Elements 10 - it wont let me do it - keeps saying that it is installing something else - Error 1500.

restart you computer.
deactivate elements 10 (help>deactivate) and then uninstall it.
then restart your computer and install lr 4.

I purchased PS Elements and Premier Elements through Academic Superstore as a download on Aug. 8, 2014. I am installing on a MAC Book Pro 10.9.4, and have tried reinstalling 3 times. Need help with frozen Archive and Install

I'm trying to run an archive and install for my intel iMac, OS 10.4.11. I get through the first disk fine, but after I put in the 2nd install disk, it gets all the way to the "finishing installation" and then won't move past "running GarageBand Demo Songs Installer Script". it says less than a minute remaining, and the downloading bar is swirling, but there is nothing happening and it hangs here for hours. I've tried restarting, but it will only ask me to load the 2nd disk again, and the same thing happens over and over. Apple even sent me a new install disk 2, and the same thing happened, so I know it's not the disk. Is there a way to push past this?
I did a disk utility repair and it said everything was fine.
WZZZ suggested a custom installation, but I haven't tried it yet because I'm worried I might lose the data on my hard drive. (Stupidly) none of it is backed up. Any advice? Do you think I'll lose my data if I force it start over with disk 1 and do a custom install?
If not, is that the best thing to do?

At worst we should maybe only have complications with several Previous System Folders, but after forcing shutdown reboot do what WZZZ pointed to...

2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)

4. Select your Mac OS X volume.

That second Disk thing happens frequently, the best way around it is to do a Custom install, and eliminate enough Printer Drivers, Languages, Fonts, and Applications you don't need... then it may skip #2 altogether.

Problems with uninstalling cs3 and installing cs3 again

I hope someone can help me with this. I have uninstalled cs3 because the
computer prompts me that my activation has stopped working. So as I began to
install my cs3 design premium, the computer prompts me to insert my cd for
my design premium. That is strage as I have already insertted my cd. So as I
click on OK several times(they keep on prmpting me to insert my cd again.
After I clicked on (most probably 20 ~ 30 times), the installer said I have
not successfully installed any of the applications I have selected. Why so?
I suspect I have not uninstalled cleanly. I have uninstalled from the
add/remove components from the windows. Is there anyway to solve this
problem? What am I going to do now??

You probably need to uninstall again .. reboot .. and then follow the instructions on this page. Seeking help with PS Elements 11 which does not work with Epson r2000 printer. Epson tech support could not fix, said it is PS e11 problem. Receive prompt on PS e11 screen when I try to print stating "not compatible or settings are not correct. Have set PS to manage color and printer manages color to off. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.

Before purchasing the Epson r2000, I owned an r1800 which was an excellent printer but after seven years started to exhibit paper feed problems. The r1800 worked with all applications and I was well satisfied with the saturation, contrast, etc. printing mostly 8x10 and 11x17 prints.
Thank you for the information about the # of installs for PS E11, will try uninstall/reinstall this morning.

I recently downloaded and installed Lightroom 5.7.1 problems with Flickr plug-in.

I recently downloaded and installed lightroom 5.7.1 and am having numerous problems with the Flickr plug-in. All Videos uploads creating error messages. Many photo uploads creating error messages. Something about API error. Also, my photo count after is different within the app then it is on Flickr website.

It really isn't clear what you are asking. If you are looking for the profiles for your cameras you would go to the calibration tab in the develop module and click to choose from different profiles. Profiles will only be available for raw files, including DNG files.

Without proper system info and other technical details nobody can tell you much. This could be something to do with the sync features, so as a start turn that stuff off.

Does Elements need to have access to ‘My Pictures’ on Windows as when I remove Photos from ‘My Pictures’, Elements later, when backing up, gives a message that it is unable to ‘reconnect’ to the same picture on elements. On other occasions when removing a photo from Elements catalogue I also get a similar message when backing up saying ‘unable to reconnect’. 1. Is there a relationship between Elements and My Pictures and is Elements dependant on the Windows ‘My Pictures’? 2. Why does some photos in Elements in some cases cause them to multiply e.g. double; triple; quadruple; and on occasions even more? Is there something I need to do to stop this or an easy way I can remove the multiples without spending hours doing it manually one by one? Am I doing something wrong? My O/S is Windows XP SP2 and windows Vista on my Laptop. I have been using Elements 5 and have just purchased Photoshop Elements 8.0. (Upgrade) and about to install it. Be grateful for any advice as I do enjoy using the program if only I can resolve this issue. The organizer doesn't care where you send your photos when you download them via the downloader or where they happen to be when you first bring them in if you use the Get Photos command, but once your pics are in the Organizer, you *must* move them from within organizer or it can't find them. You don't have to use My Pictures at all if you don't want to, but regardless of the folder where you put your photos, if you want them someplace else, you use organizer to do it.
