Help with update 5.0 for Bold 8520

I've being trying to update my device software but it's impossible, not even downloading the archive from the web.
Everytime I plug in my phone and open the blackberry manager to do whaterver it gives me the message that I haven't installed the Blackberry Device Manager . I updated my desktop manager to version 5.0, and I tried to update my device software and it says that I don't have any updates, after that I have deleted the files device.xml and vendor.xml but again when I plugged in my phone it comes the message that the Blackberry Device Manager is not installed. I've uninstalled the desktop manager and it let me use once but again no update for my phone software and then again the same message that i haven't installed the Blackberry Device Manager
My carrier company here in Ecuador wont help me cause I bought the phone in the USA, but anyways I have friends that have the same problem as and they have bought in Ecuador to Movistar (my carrier) the same phone and the update to 5.0 doesn't work. If you have any ideas of what should I do I'll appreciate it. Thanks

Yes I tried that too. I uninstalled the Blackberry Desktop Manager and also following this instructions from this page
http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB02206
I installed again the Blackberry Desktop Manager and again the same problem it just gives me the option for the Blackberry version 4.6.1.314 the one that I already have, and then when I try to download the update from the blackberry web page it sends me the message "The Application Loader Wizard requires the Blackberry Device Manager to be installed. Please contact customer support"
I went to this page  http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_ Operating_System_Downloads as I saw it will help me download Blackberry's Operating System for my carrier and device, but my carrier it's not listed, it's Telefonica or Movistar Ecuador. I called customer support of my carrier and they wont help me as my phone was bought in the United States and not from them. I don't know the carrier was this phone bought from.
I really need your help, I being trying to get help from the blackberry help from twitter but I already done what the have told me to do and it didn't work.
Thanks

  • MAC OS 10.6.8 Using Safari 5.1 Needing Help With Updating Adobe Flash

    Hello-
    Recently Adobe Flash installed an icon in my System Preferences and when I click the icon there are several tabs.  One allows updates to check automatically.  It says it will install the latest version of Flash without having to remove the previous version, but I have never been told that a newer version is available unless I clcik "check now."  although "Check for updates automatically" is checked, I do not know where it tells me a newer version is available.  Also, there has been 5 "newer versions" available since this icon was installed in System Prefeences, I have only found out about the newer versions when I clicked "Check Now."  If I read that with this new way to install the latest Mac version of Flash does not require me to uninstall the previous version of Flash how do I install the most recent version of Flash?  Does it come in an email?
    Since it is not telling me that there is a more recent version of Flash unless I click "Check Now" should I still do it the way I used to install the latest version of flash?  (The way before this icon was added to System Preferences)?
    I would appreciate help with updating Flash to the most recent version.  I used to uninstall the older version, restart the browser and download the most recent version and install it.  It always worked find but this was before there was an Adobe icon in my system Preferences.

    Hello,
    The way you used to do this (uninstall, restart the browser, etc.) is still definitely valid and probably the "safest" way to get a new version installed.  Uninstalling shouldn't be required, but it definitely doesn't hurt.  If you feel comfortable doing it the old way, please feel free to continue using that process.
    As for notifications, this is a bit trickier, but in general you should be notified within 30 days (or so) after a new player is released.  This usually occurs when the browser loads swf content.  Clicking the button will, like you mention, immediately check.  Another alternative to finding out when a new player is released is to subscribe to our Flash Player Releases feed.
    Is there a way to be automatically notified when a new Flash Runtime release is made?
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • HT201541 I need help with updating my browser.

    I need help with updating my browser.  Its telling me that Safari is outdated.

    That is a very old version belonging to Snow Leopard. I take it you are not actually running Yosemite.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
    You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
    To upgrade to Yosemite you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
        OS X Mavericks/Yosemite- System Requirements
          Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Yosemite
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
    To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
             See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
    If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
    You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • Help with updates - The software change returned error code 0x87D00215(-2016411115).

    I have rolled out bunch of updates across few hundred workstation systems.
    Few of the desktops have failed to install SOME of the updates and just can't get my head around as to why?
    Looking at one of the workstations, I can see 5 updates are pending download at 0%.
    Some of these fail after a while and with in Software Centre, I can see 'Help with updates - The software change returned error code 0x87D00215(-2016411115).'. Not exactly sure what this means, but I have tried clearing the cache and
    rebooting the workstations few times.
    (I have also tried to use Windows Update and install one of these manually, which worked.)

  • Need help with a activation code for Adobe Acrobat X Standard for my PC,, Don't have older version serial numbers,  threw programs away,  only have Adobe Acrobat X Standard,  need a code to unlock program?

    Need help with a activation code for Adobe Acrobat X Standard for my PC, Don't have older Version of Adobe Acrobat 9, 8 or 7.

    You don't need to install the older version, you only need the serial number from your original purchase. If you don't have them to hand, did you register? If so, they should be in your Adobe account. If not you really need to contact Adobe, though it isn't clear they will be able to do anything without some proof of purchase etc.

  • I think I need help with driver (software) settings for D110a

    I think I need help with driver (software) settings for D110a all-in-one
    Product: D110a all-in-one
    OS: Windows XP Professional
    Error messages: None
    Changes before problem appeared: None--new installation
    The quality of photo images (mostly JPG files) in printouts is awful even though the files display beautifully on the PC screen. I am using
    IrfanView software for displaying/printing. As far as I can tell, IrfanView is not the problem.
    When I print the same images on a Deskjet 5150 attached to a different PC also running XP Pro and IrfanView, the quality of the printouts is at
    least acceptable, Some would probably say good or very good.
    It's dificult to explain in words the problem with the printouts. A picture of really pretty vegetables (squashes, tomatoes, watermelon, etc) comes
    out much too red. Moreover, the red, which appears shaded on the screen, seems to be all one shade in the D110a printouts.
    Something similar happens to a view of a huge tree in full leaf. On screen, there are subtle variations in the "greenness" of the leaves. In the
    printout, all green is the same shade. In the same printout, the trunk of the tree is all a single shade of grey. It isn;t even obvious that the
    trunk is a round, solid object.
    I liken the effect to audio that disappears entirely when you lower the volume and gets clipped into square waves in even moderately loud passages.
    I don't know whether the D110a driver software permits adjusting the parameters that appear to be set incorrectly, and if adjustments are possible,
    how I would identify which parameters to adjust, how I would access them, or how I would adjust them. I'm hoping that someone can help. Thanks.
    I forgot to mention that I have used the diagnostic application and it tells me that there are no problems.

    Hi everyone,
    I noticed the following message when network starts on my gateway
    Warning: This functionality is deprecated.
    Please refer to /etc/rc.conf on how to define a single wired
    connection, or use a utility such as netcfg.
    Then I realized the way network settings should be written in rc.conf has changed. But I can't figure out how this should be done.
    Currently, my set up is the following (old way):
    INTERFACES=(eth0 eth1)
    eth0="dhcp"
    eth1="eth1 192.168.0.10 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255"
    ROUTES=(!gateway)
    eth0 is on DHCP because the IP is dynamically assigned my ISP.
    eth1 has a fix IP because it's on the LAN side.
    No problem to use DHCP on eth0 with the new settings.
    But for eth1, I don't know what I am supposed to write for gateway.
    Wiki isn't clear on that one either, and it looks like many articles still refer to the old way.
    Any guidance appreciated, thanks.
    brazzmonkey,
    you can't define 2 interfaces the old way (even though I saw some tricky workaround somewhere in the forums).
    Use, f.e., netcfg:
    Comment your old lines.
    In /etc/rc.conf insert:
    NETWORKS=(Eth0-dhcp Eth1-static)
    DAEMONS=(..... !network @net-profiles ....)
    In /etc/network.d create 2 files:
    First one is named  Eth0-dhcp.
    Contents:
    CONNECTION="ethernet"
    DESCRIPTION="Whatever text"
    INTERFACE=eth0
    HOSTNAME="your hostname"
    IP="dhcp"
    DHCP_TIMEOUT=15
    Second one is named Eth1-static.
    Contents:
    CONNECTION='ethernet'
    DESCRIPTION='whatver'
    INTERFACE='eth1'
    HOSTNAME='hname'
    IP='static'
    ADDR='192.168.0.10'
    GATEWAY='192.168.0.1' # your gateway IP
    DNS=('192.168.0.1') # your DNS server
    The names Eth0-dhcp and Eth1-static are not magic. They just must be the same in rc.conf and in /etc/network.d.
    Hope it helps.

    PS: netcfg must be installed.

  • [solved]Need help with a bash script for MOC conky artwork.

    I need some help with a bash script for displaying artwork from MOC.
    Music folders have a file called 'front.jpg' in them, so I need to pull the current directory from MOCP and then display the 'front.jpg' file in conky.
    mocp -Q %file
    gives me the current file playing, but I need the directory (perhaps some way to use only everything after the last  '/'?)
    A point in the right direction would be appreciated.

    You should also quote the variables and output in double quotes to make the code robust, e.g.
    filename="$(mocp -Q %file)"
    dirname="${filename%/*}"
    cp "$dirname"/front.jpg ~/backup/art.jpg
    Without the quotes, whitespace will break the code. Even if you don't expect whitespace in any of the paths, it's still good coding practice to include the quotes imo.
    thanks for the tip.
    here it is, anyhow:
    #!/bin/bash
    filename=$(mocp -Q %file)
    dirname=${filename%/*}
    cp ${dirname}/front.jpg ~/backup/art.jpg
    then in conky:
    $alignr${execi 30 ~/bin/artc}${image ~/backup/art.jpg -s 100x100 -p -3,60}
    thanks for the help.

    within the site would be edited. I am trying to understand what is
    going on in the code, but I am baffled.
    I am trying to edit the dropdown menu to remove one location,
    New York.
    When I delete what I think are the appropriate lines of code,
    the remaining items in the menu fail to display the correlating
    info in the text area and in the image area on the right side of
    the page.
    This is the page;
    http://www.wesgarde.com/branches.shtml
    Can anyone help me get that one location removed, along with
    making the rest of the menu items fall into place?
    Appreciate any info,
    Thanks, Michele

    The problem is that the Add-ons Manager tab when opened the first time, is on "Get Add-ons" section and that must be downloaded from the Add-ons server which might be overburdened.

  • Help with Updates

    My son has a Droid Inc2 and has had multiple problems with updates. They always happen overnight and he gets a message telling him to do a battery pull to avoid further messages regarding the update. Each time we eventually have to do a hard reset so that we can restore the service to the phone. This has been happening for quite sometime now starting back in early August.
    The current software running is 3.02.605.1. My wife messaged a VZW Support Rep on Twitter about it and was told it was an old software version and to keep trying to pull the update. We have stopped trying since having to do a reset this weekend. This is really aggravating and I need to know what we should do. Right now if you check for software update it acts like it's checking but then does nothing more. Then in a couple days the phone will try to update overnight.
    Someone please tell me what needs to be done. I have looked thru the oter posts and couldn't find what I needed and got tired of looking at all the pages of posts regarding the updates.
    Thx!

    Hi 2tonpickup,
    I understand your concerns regarding your son's phone. We also value your time and have different processes in place to troubleshoot any issues with your phones. Please keep in mind that this is a peer to peer forum and while our Social Media Team monitors these forums the best way to get assistance troubleshooting a device is to call us at 800-922-0204 from a different phone and have the faulty device fully charged and available when calling.
    Your device includes a one year manufacturer's warranty and we'll be happy to replace it with a Certified Like New unit of the same model if we are unable to resolve your concerns and phone is under warranty. Please visit this LINK for replacement process details.

While they do chime in occationally to help, your best bet is really to call tech support first or to go into a Verizon store.

  • [SOLVED] Help with updating conky-colors PKGBUILD

    I'm looking to update my PKGBUILD for https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/conky-colors/ to support the latest version.  After getting annoyed with DeviantArt replacing the zips of the package when it is updated upstream, I've decided to pull in specific commits from the git repo instead.  I'm trying to use the ...#commit= option on the source line.  It seems to be building ok but I'm getting the following errors:
    /usr/bin/makepkg: eval: line 2225: unexpected EOF while looking for matching `"'
    /usr/bin/makepkg: eval: line 2226: syntax error: unexpected end of file
    Can anyone give any help as to what may be the cause here.  If i remove the #commit it goes away.  I need to clean up the depends section to remove those that are no longer needed, but I can do that easy enough.

    I didn't post the install earlier because I've never had an issue with it, been using the same file for several releases of several custom built packages.  The eval: lines posted appear before "Making package: conky-colors 9.0-1 (Mon 11 Nov 18:58:03 GMT 2013)" but doesn't prevent it from building.  Just don't get what's causing them.
    Install files "s have matching end ", brackets have brackets. namcap PKGBUILD gave no error.
    PKGBUILD ' has matching '

  • Help with Update failure please

    I have Adobe Photoshop CC running on win 7 64 bit. When doing the latest batch of updates one keeps failing with the error message "Adobe CSXS Infrastructure 4 Installation Failed Error Code U44M1P7" Can anyone help with this?

    Thanks Eshant
    I had since  been researching this on the web and it seems it is a very
    common fault which has not always been fixed by the full re-install
    advocated by Adobe in the link you kindly provided. I therefore decided
    to keep trying for a couple of days before resorting to such a drastic
    solution.
    After several failures to get CSXS Infrastructure 4 to install, both via
    the CC Desktop App and from the "Help" menu within Photoshop CC, I had
    one more try this morning and this time it seems to have installed
    without a hitch. I have no idea why, as I have made no system changes,
    but for now I do seem to have solved the problem as my installation of
    Photoshop CC is now reporting that it is fully up to date.
    Thanks for your response.
