Help with Upgrading Workflow OWF_MGR Schema to 11G

We are planning to upgrade a OWB 10.1.0.3 repository (via 10.1.0.4) and also a 10GR2 repository into the same 11G repository on a new database instance.
Both sources have their own OWF_MGR schemas.
Can anyone please confirm if the OWF_MGR schema contains anything other than the deployed process flows and workflow logs?
I am trying to work out if I need to migrate both OWF_MGR schemas into the new 11G OWF_MGR schema, or if I can just redeploy all the process flows after the design and control centre data has been migrated?
The 11G installation guide has a section on migrating the Oracle Workflow schema but it is not very clear on what has to be done.
If anyone else has migrated to 11G on another database, what steps did you take to migrate the workflows schema?

Hi Dan.
You can't upgrade to GW 2012 on SLES 9, and you can't install GW 7 on SLES 11 - quandry huh! Ultimately, here's what you need to do:
1. Install SLES 11 on the new server.
2. Install eDirectory and add it to the tree.
3. Move the system to the new server
4. Upgrade to 2012 you'll never put GW7 on it of course - just do a move/upgrade at the same time.
5. Promote the edirectory partiton on the new server to Master.
6. Remove eDirectory from the old server.
7. Shut SLES 9 Down

Oh - by the way - you asked me about my "Moving GroupWise" book in another message. It is used to move GW, but keep the same version. The only book I have that discusses a move/upgrade in one fell swoop is actually the GroupWise 2012 Upgrade Guide for "NetWare". And while it is assuming you are moving from NetWare, your situation would be very similar. It doesn't specifically cover the eDirectory bit though.

Snapper needs some help with photo workflow.

I guys I am a photographer who has just moved over from a PC to a iMac and i am having a small problem with my workflow and hoping that maybe someone can help me out.
When using my PC after covering one of my events I would plug my memory card into a reader conected to my PC it would then prompt me to save the files to a new folder which I would name after the event covered. Once this was done I would then review the photos delete any that were of no use i would then open up photoshop locate the folder and then work on the images and then save them to the same folder before e-mailing them to my publisher.
Now using the Mac this is my work flow plan. I plug the memory card into the reader and save the photos in iPhoto using the name of the event to name the folder. I can then review the photos in iPhoto deleting any that are of no use. I open up photoshop and using bridge to select the files to open but I cannot get the photoshop or bridge to find the folder in iPhoto. I have to make a copy of the photo folder on my desktop and then select the files from this folder in bridge but this means that I am doing things twice any ideas on how to get photoshop or bridge to find the iPhoto folder.

Okay, how about getting iPhoto out of the picture (so to speak)? You'll need to change a couple of preferences, but the result will be: you will see your card reader's icon on your desktop - click on it and open the folder. You can take a look at the pics in Preview (should open automatically) and then decide what to do with them (Photoshop, iPhoto, Aperture, other app, or trash?). Or you can simply create a folder on your desktop and "park" them there until you know what you want/need to do with them. You can create subfolders with the event/date//whatever.
So, if that is what you'd like, here is where to change a couple of things:
1. CD/DVD Pane in System Preferences:
2. Finder Preferences: make sure CDs & DVD are checked to show on desktop.
3, Open iPhoto: Preferences > General: make sure "connecting camers opens" shows: No Application.

Need help with a workflow that will restrict resize to 720x540

I need help constructing a workflow that will resize any image I choose to 720x540. I want this to be restrictive to this size, in other words I don't want 720x468 or etc. I have tried this too many times, will no success so now I am reaching out for help. HELP. Once I have correct resized an image as needed I want to change its format and save a copy.

Need help with upgrade from Adobe Creative Suite to PS CS4

My old laptop with Photoshop on it crashed and I ended up purchasing a new laptop.
I'm trying to reload my PS CS4. I am using an upgrade from an educational Adobe Creative Suite Premium to the CS4 and when I loaded it on my old laptop I had to get installation help through customer service, but now customer service will not help me since it is CS4.
When installing the upgrade, it tell me to select the product I already own. I own the educational full creative suite, but am only upgrading the Photoshop. I chose Photoshop CS and tried entering the serial number for the suite. It tells me that the serial number doesn't match the product chosen. Of course the only products I'm allowed to choose from is Photoshop CS, CS2, or CS3 and not Creative Suite Premium.
The other serial numbers on this CS is Golive CO and Pagemaker Plug-in.
I was told there are Adobe customer service reps here on the forum, please tell me what it was I need to do to get my Photoshop installed.

i wasn't aware that you could get a ps4 at an upgrade price using an older creative suite produect. i searched online and found this thread (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/476009) which makes it appear that was not a valid upgrade path.
but, if you're confident that was a valid upgrade path, i'm pretty sure something will need to be done on adobe's end and no amount of manipulation, on your end only, will work.
your best bet would be to get help in this forum from an adobe staff member like jeff wright who is very knowledgeable and goes out of his way to help adobe customers. to that end, if i were you, i would start a new thread mentioning his name in your title and in your initial post explaining:
you have the educational Adobe Creative Suite Premium and purchased a photoshop cs4 upgrade years ago that required adobe support help to install years ago.
that worked well until a recent computer problem forced you buy a new laptop and you are now trying to reinstall that ps cs4 and again need support help but have been refused help because cs4 is not current.

Need help with Export workflow.

Hello again.
Today I was experimenting with exporting a project using Export QT Movie and QT Conversion.
My goal is to show a QT project on the web, either 640x480 or 320xx240, depending on how monstrous the file size is.
My initial impression was that export QT Movie simply generates (I'm guessing) a full size rendering of the project. It's icon is a FC icon. What I did then was an "Open with..." quicktime(pro). This is where I get confused: I know that the next steps are for for preparing the project for sizes, compressions and so on. The export to QT movie seems to be a longer route to get to the settings that you need to use in QT Conversion, which after selecting QT conversion, you have the Format, Use, and Options settings.
Am I right so far?
Some background about my project- Easy setup= DV-NTSC. If I look in my browser, my clips are 720x480, 29.97fps, Compressor(?)DV/DVCPRO-NTSC, pixel aspect ratio, NTSC-CCIR 601 and anamorphic is checked.
I also have still photos motion control stuff, PS tiffs, that do not have anamorphic checked.
Form here on is where I get confused.
Under settings, I am selecting DV/dvc-NTSC for compression frame rate 29.97, medium compressor, scan mode, interlaced, and aspect 4:3.
The filters setting I don't use.
The size setting I'm trying 320x240 with aspect ratio and de interlace video UNCHECKED.
Is this a good workflow for the web. I notice on 640x480 my titles (livetype) seem kind of jagged.
Any help preparing a project for the web would be appreciated. If you need more info let me know.

Thanks for the additional comments and ideas.
In terms of profile, as I mentioned, the intermediates will be going off to the editor (off-site) for editing on his FCP suite. I'll stick to working in the prescribed HDTV (Rec. 709) space, and I've given him all the detail I can of how I'm working, but crucially I haven't stood at his edit-suite to see how the stuff looks.
But, he's no newbie, so I'm hoping it'll be OK.
Blasted shame about the H.264 BluRay not being compatible with QT - I thought I had this whole issue beat until that came along. It's not a matter of disk space here, but the editor is mithering that the intermediates we are testing, in either PNG, or Animation, and a couple of others, are choking his playback.
I'm not sure what to say about that, other than to go down this road of trying to squish these intermediates as low as possible without wrecking the look, hence finding that the DNxHD is providing the best solution. If it had been a SD project, I might well have tried the native H.264, even over our normal PNG workflow.
So what will play the native H.264 BluRay compressed output?

Need help with upgrade from WXP MCE to Vista Ultimate on Qosmio G30 - 175

Hi all, I tried searching for the following issue to no avail so I would be most grateful if someone could help and point me in the right direction:
Tried to upgrade the XP to Ultimate and it got to unpacking stage and BSOD "Session3_initialization_failed (xxx STOP: 0x0000006F (0xC000009D, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) appeared repeatedly. I tried again and the same happened.
I have already updated the BIOS and stripped the conflicts out of the Toshiba suite of programmes and the update advisor gave the OK on several ocassions before attempting this exercise.

Forgot to mention too that I am currently running with 2 x 2GB Ram and no additional hardware or software has been added prior to attempting the upgrade. The medium I am using to upgrade is a recently purchased full retail version of 32 bit Vista Ultimate (which also includes a 64 bit version too in the box).
I have been in touch with Microsoft Support in recent days and they told me that my hard drive appears to be defective being the reason for the failed upgrade. Infact last week together with Microsoft on the phone we did attempt a clean install but that just lead to me having to abort the clean install and rescue my laptop back to original XP MCE.....flipping heck!!!!!

Need help with an extended star schema.

I have the following data in spreadsheet form and I need to transpose this into an extended star schema in order to prdouce my characteristics and key figures, however I'm having a little trouble understanding where to include the Product Group in the star schema and also what to do with the Sales Doc (Invoice Number) in the sales information spreadsheet.
I need to summarise the data into the following also:

Potentially the issue may be the combination of actual distance and the presence of any Wi-Fi interference at the location of the AirPort Express that may be the culprit here. The bottom line is you would want the Express to be within a 25+ dB range of the Extreme to be sure that it can consistently stay connected to it.

I've found many topics in this forum helpful, but they are so spread out that I figured it would be easier to ask for help for my own computer.
I am interested in upgrading a few things on my G4. Here are my specs:

1) Upgrading my processor:
I do a lot of graphics work (Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, and Maya) on my computer and it's been really slow lately, even with my RAM maxed out to 1.5 MB. I was thinking of buying the SonnetDUAL G4/1.8GHz 512K L2 Cache Per Processor because I would like as much processing power as possible. What processor(s) would be the best fit for me?
2) Upgrading my graphics card:
I don't know anything about increasing my graphics card capabilities, or if I even need to. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Here are my current graphics stats:

I'm leery of buying one because I'm not very computer HW savvy (surprise surprise!) but I'm wondering if it would be good for my computer considering its age and how much I use graphics software on my computer.

You have a very upgradable computer, one of the best. You didn't tell us your budget. So, I'll just assume you want to be practical.
1. I'd suggest either a Fastmac or OWC CPU. Easy to install, no firmware patches to add, simple and very fast.
2. Stay put for now, see how you like the CPU first.
3. If you need it look here. The sleep issue is one that cannot be remedied, so we live with it. I put my monitor to sleep and set the computer to never.
4. The FW 400 is perfect. If you are worried about the old internal HDD, install a second new one (128GB or less) internally and use it as your startup, the old one for storage of non essentials. No matter what you do, ALWAYS backup important data at regular intervals.
Finally, your Mac has 1.5GB of RAM already installed, you're set!

Help with Upgrading my Ipod Touch.

I bought my Ipod Touch back in spring of 2010. I was able to keep the iOS upgraded to version 4.2. But when I go to download new apps and such it says I need version 4.3 or newer. Only Itunes stopped offering me updates for the iOS a long time ago and I can't seem to get it past 4.2. I was wondering if this is something that can be fixed or if it's just something Apple does to keep people buying newer products? Thanks for any help.

There is nothing that can be done. This is normal.
ALL software driven devices become unable to run the latest software at some point.
Your device is three generations old. It is not unusual in the least that it is unable to run the latest software.
Ask the app makers to make their apps compatible with the older software.

Need help with upgrading my Pavilion's graphics... affordably

New member here :-).
Ok...I am having trouble with a graphics card I just got. It's the EVGA GeForce GT 730 2GB GDDR5 64bit DVI/HDMI/VGA Low Profile Graphics Card 02G-P3-3733-KR. It's a very good entry level card according to every one I've talked to. It was reasonably priced so I bought one. When I installed it all I get is an amber power light and beeping sound. So I contact EVGA to see if it's incompatible with my computer model. This is what they said: "We do apologize for any issues with your GT 730. Your hardware should be sufficient to run the graphics card; however, you will need to remove any ATI/AMD software or drivers prior to installing our NVIDIA based graphics card, as this can cause driver conflicts. Although this graphics card does not require a UEFI motherboard BIOS, you may want to check with HP to see if this system can run 700 series NVIDIA graphics cards." Sooo... based on that last part I underlined, can this computer run that model of card?
Oh... another note: I guess the card could be defective too. I always seem to get the dud of the bunch if there is one. LOL. If that's the case I'll mail it back to Amazon.
My official warranty support has run out so you're the only guys and gals that can help me with this. Any info or advice will be greatly appreciated. Or if you can recommend any other graphics card upgrades that would work, that would be awesome too. Thanks so much in advance!!!

This will allow others to review your issue, make suggestions and review your responses. This is usually the best way to get assistance.
The quote about removing AMD drivers from EVGA seems to be bogus. I have multiple EGVA graphics cards and none of the printed directions ever mention removing AMD drivers. I have run and removed AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards without having to remove the previous drivers.
If your PC doesn't have a version 8 BIOS then the NVIDIA 7xx graphics cards may not work.

I've been trying to use information found on other threads to update my driver but have had no success; my software and cpu are somewhat older than what I've been reading about. So.... I'm going to try this again before taking the thing to the local fixit shop (I don't want to do that...) And hopefully if there's someone in the same jam out there a search will bring them to this thread.
Is there anyone out there that can give me a simple 'do this, do this, do this, and do this' for my particular setup? I've used DriverSweeper prior to attempting installs, and Mobility Modder to get around AMD's Catalyst installer problems re:bootcamp.

The first part of your mcelog (the bit about " failed to prefill DIMM database from DMI data") strongly suggest one of the new RAM chips is defective. Start by simply putting the old one back in place and seeing if that helps. If it does, exchange the new faulty one with the seller for one that works. However, since you say yourself you aren't very tech savvy, it may be the case that you've simply purchased a RAM chip that is not compatible with your motherboard (although if both of the new chips are identical and the first one works, that may not be so).
When deciding to upgrade all the most vital hardware components of a machine, it's best to do it one piece at a time, and reconfigure the operating system to account for the new hardware. Uninstall old drivers, install new ones, change any personal settings related to the old hardware, reboot, make sure everything's fine and then repeat the process for every other new piece of hardware. Replacing everything at once without ensuring it will all work together increases the chances problems like this immensely---the problem itself may be very simple, but you've undertaken so many changes in such a short time that finding out what the problem is in the first place can be very complicated.

Need help with CPM workflow and workbook

we can't get the CPM reportbooks to work. we are using version 5.0. I followed all the steps, but can't figure out what I didn't do correctly. I made sure that the report work by itself. then, I added the report into the reportbook and tried submitting the report book. but nothing got submitted. I don't see any file in the queue. any help or tips would be appreciated. We are also having a problem with workflow. I modified the xml file settings, but when i went to workflow administration, the screen is blank instead of showing a hieararchy of cost centers. please help.. thanks.

I'd suggest you take a look at speaking with an experience Final Cut Server consultant and integrator. Most of the storage and Edit-In-Place over ethernet configurations you have now is completely unsupported by Apple. So only someone with experience in this area will be able to help you really.

Help with applescript/workflow/rule that would unflag mail when read (...)

Here's my scenario:
I have quite many mail.app rules that automatically filter and file incoming mails from newsletters, SNS, work, friends etc. and they all go in specific mailboxes (200+)
I also have some rules that I trigger using MailActOn.
Since with Lion theres now 6 different flags (and that you can rename them) I've included them in the rules actions and set them up to the following categories:
- To Do
- To Do Later
- To File
- News
- Personal
This actually allows me to have these smart mailboxes to appear only when they are flags active.
Now for the first three I want to keep the flags permanently until I'm actully done with them.
But for the "news" and "personal" ones I want to have them "unflag" once I read them.
So to recap, is there a way to systematicall/periodically unflag messages when they are read from specific mailboxes or if they are flagged with a particular flag?
I'd really appreciate if someone would help me out figure out an adequate solution to what I'd like to achieve.
I'm not sure if a kind of a combination of either applescript/workflow/rule would actually make it work...
