Help with uploading photos to iPod from multiple computers

I uploaded photos from my computer at home quite easily. Then I plugged my iPod into my computer at work, went to the Photos tab in iTunes, and asked it to sync photos from My Photos on my computer. It proceeded to delete all the photos I had uploaded from home. How can I prevent it from deleting photos previously on the iPod?
Thanks.

You can't load photos from multiple computers. There's no manual mode for photos, just different ways to sync. Syncing on a different computer will erase what's there. You can read a bit more here: iTunes and iPod: Frequently asked questions (FAQ) about Photo Sync

Can anyone help with uploading photos fom iPad to Facebook?  Thanks

What app are you to trying to use ? You can't upload photos to Facebook via Safari, but a number of the Facebook apps support it e.g. the 'official' app : http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/facebook/id284882215?mt=8 (thought it's optimised for the iPhone/iPod Touch it does support uploading photos), Friendly For Facebook (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/friendly-for-facebook/id400169658?mt=8)

  • Need help with uploading photos from PSE 12 to Revel

When I first logged into Revel from my new Photoshop 12 I selected the option to have me select which photos would be uploaded to Revel.  That turned out to be a huge mistake.  All I want to do is upload my current catelogue with the albums intact to Revel for Cloud protection.  I have been working for two days to work around this and have had numerous problems.  I can't get my albums to get uploaded without creating a new album in revel and then downloading from there.  However, it appears that some albums have been authotmatically uploaded and I have thousands of pictures scattered, since most of them were scanned at different times and then organized into albums over the course of the past year.  Can anyone help me with this.  I was told that buying Adobe Photoshop 12 should make it very easy to put my photos in a cloud with the albums intact.  PLEASE help.

Are you just trying to set up all of your elements albums as mobile albums?

  • Anyone help with uploading photos

I went to copy photos from an SD card inserted directly into the front of my PC and the pictures copied over to the ipod but I cannot see them under my photo list. They show up on my computer inside the ipod icon but not on the ipod itself can anyone help.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
If you have synced with iTunes again, and the card was not inserted, it may have deleted the pics, as nothing was there (it looked for the card, and there were no photos.)
Try copying them to your computer's harddrive and sync from a folder there.

  • Help with Automator to copy text from multiple files

    Hello,
I'm new to automator and applescript but it seems like what I'm trying to accomplish is fairly easy.
I'd like to run a workflow that will open a text file, copy the contents, paste the contents into a given application and then take a screenshot.
I'd like to be able to do this for several hundred text files.
I've tried with a Service but can't figure out how to provide the text input after "Get Specified Finder Items".
Get Specified Finder Items --> Get Contents of TextEdit Document --> Copy to Clipboard --> results in no data.

You'll need to use Applescript (you could use the Automator Run Applescript Action).
set recipientAddress to do shell script "cat <filename.txt>"
set theSubject to "Type your subject here!"
set theContent to "Type your message content here!"
    tell application "Mail"
      activate
              set theMessage to make new outgoing message with properties {subject:theSubject, content:theContent, visible:true}

  • FRUSTRATION - why can't I add music from multiple computers to my iPhone??

I use multiple Mac computers in my life. My home computer has about 30 gigs of music. My work computer has about half that. Therefore syncing in any case is not an option. I have added some music from home to my new iPhone, and I want to do the same from my work computer but cannot! WHY?? I can do this with my 5th gen Video iPod no problem.
Plugged into my work computer now, I try to set the iPhone again to "manually manage music," but it still tells me the iPhone is synced with another computer (it is not, since I immediately disabled the sync feature before adding music). Is this going to be the case if I want to add photos from multiple computers, etc., too?
    WHY?? WHY??? WHY?????
    SO FRUSTRATING...

    You're welcome.
Maybe I'm missing something, but i still struggle to see the connection. Disk mode is the iPods ability to be mounted as a disk on the desktop, allowing the free disk space to be used manually. It exists completely outside the iPods normal, iTunes-driven functions, right? What we are missing on the iPhone is a simple feature from inside iTunes – a feature that all other iPods (as far as i know) have. Strange that the "Amazing iPod" does not.
Disk mode has everything to do with the ability to transfer iTunes content to an iPod from multiple computers. This is not a simple feature from inside iTunes.
Do you have an iPod? If so, are you transferring iTunes content from more than one computer to your iPod? If so, do you have disk mode enabled for your iPod? If yes, turn off disk mode and test if you are still able to transfer iTunes content from more than one computer to your iPod.
Nothing prevents me from admitting when Apple goes wrong or disappoints, but this is not the place for it. This is a user to user help forum for technical support issues and questions only which has a terms of use. Discussing Apple's policies and procedures and ranting is specifically against Apple's terms of use for these discussions.
Since this is a user to user help forum only, no one here knows Apple's reason or reasons why disk mode is not supported with the iPhone. The only answer you will get here or anywhere else for that matter is someone's opinion, unless Apple makes an announcement or information is provided by an exec during an interview. IMO, there must be a valid reason or reasons why disk mode is not supported with an iPhone since it is supported with iPods. Since disk mode is supported with iPods, more than likely there isn't a technical reason why it isn't supported with an iPhone, so I seriously doubt that Apple decided not to support disk mode with the iPhone just for kicks, or for no valid reason or reasons whatsoever on their part.
Until I know Apple's reason or reasons, it is difficult for me to admit Apple has gone wrong in this regard, for it may make Apple right for a reason or reasons we don't know, which can be disagreed on. Once facts are known, just because you believe Apple has gone wrong and/or you are disappointed doesn't mean I believe the same, which may or may not have anything to do with being an Apple fan - maybe we just don't agree.
My brand loyalty goes only so far. I did plenty of research on the iPhone before making the decision to purchase one. Before purchasing an iPhone, I can count on one hand the number of MMS I had exchanged. I have used a number of Palm handhelds for business - before they began selling a Palm cell phone, and I don't recall editing a word or excel document once during all that time. I wasn't interested in doing so with such a small screen, and since I wasn't interested in doing any editing, cut/copy/paste wasn't critical to me either.
If these features were very important to me - features I used on a daily or very regular basis, I would not have purchased an iPhone regardless the other features it includes. I certainly wouldn't purchase one anyway knowing these things, followed by wasting my time at an Apple user to user help forum for technical support issues and questions whining and ranting about it, which is common here by an immature small percentage of users. There is nothing wrong with providing constructive comments here, which constructive being the key word. There are some folks here who don't know what the word constructive means and don't have a clue about how use it.

  • Manually managing music on iPhone from multiple computers

Everything I've read 'claims' this can be but I don't think the people who tell you how to do it even bother to see what happens.  This is one of the things that really frustrate me about forums.  It's the complete lack of thoroughness of the people who reply to a question without knowing the outcome.
It's a simple task.  I want to be able to move music from multitple computers to my iPhone.  When I go into iTunes and select the device, in my case it's the iPhone, and check the box to manually manage music and videos then click 'apply' I get a warning that everything is going to be erased from the phone.  WTH!?!  And no one on ANY forum who suggests this is the proper way manually managing music even has a solution to be able to do this WITHOUT erasing the phone.
C'mon Apple.  It's a SIMPLE drag-n-drop implementation.  How hard can it be?  I'm not the least interested in syncing with some music library on the computer.  In fact I don't even sync my phone with the iTunes Library.  It's a waste of time because I can't even selectively sync music.  It's either all or nothing.  STUPID.  I simply want to move music on and off the phone.  You know, drag into the window to add and drag off to remove.  And I want to be able to do it from any computer I want that's running iTunes.  I shouldn't have to copy music from a different computer, carry it home and add it from the home system.  That completely defeats the concept of portability.  And if my home computer happens to go south for some reason then what?  Even if I have all my music backed up, I have to wipe out all my music on the phone and start all over because I'm now using a different computer.  Who was the genius that came up with that ludicrous idea?
Apple you really need to take a page from Sandisk and allow iPhones to be treated as external drives so we can drag and drop our music onto them.  No muss no fuss.  Simple and clean with no hair pulling.  It's already established the you create some very pretty devices.  Now let's work on improving usability.  Because the way I see it, it's a bit backwards.

    Sync iPod/iPad/iPhone with two computers
Although it isn't possible to sync an Apple device with two different libraries it is possible to sync with the same logical library from multiple computers. Each library has an internal ID and when iTunes connects to your iPod/iPad/iPhone it compares the local ID with the one the device normally syncs with. If they are the same you can go ahead and sync...
I have my library cloned to a small 1Tb USB drive which I can take between home & work. At either location I use SyncToy 2.1 to update the local copy with the external drive. Mac users should be able to find similar tools. I can open either of the local libraries or the one on the external drive and update the media content of my iPhone. The slight exception is Photos which normally connects to a specific folder on a specific machine, although that can easily be remapped to the current library if you create a "Photos" folder inside the iTunes Media folder so that syncing the iTunes folders keeps this up to date as well. I periodically sweep my library for new files & orphans with iTunes Folder Watch just in case I make changes at one location but then overwrite the library with a newer copy from the other. Again Mac users should be able to find similar tools.
As long as your media is organised within an iTunes Music or Tunes Media folder, in turn held inside the main iTunes folder that has your library files (whether or not you let iTunes keep the media folder organised) each library can access items at the same relative path from the library folder so the library can be at different drives/paths on different machines. This solution ensures I always have adequate backups of my library and I can update my devices whenever I can connect to the same build of iTunes.
When working with an iPhone earlier builds of iTunes would remove any file not physically present in the local library, even if there was an entry for it, making manual management practically redundant on the iPhone. This behaviour has been changed but it will still only permit manual management with a library that has the correct internal ID. If you don't want to sync your library between machines on a regular basis just copy the iTunes Library.itl file from the current "home" machine to any other you want to use, then clean out the library entires and import the local content you have on that box.

  • Upload songs from multiple computers?

Has anyone figured out if there is a way to UPLOAD songs from multiple computers. Note, I don't want to sync. I want to be able to plug my iPhone in at my office and put mp3s which I buy at work onto the phone. This works on the iPod, but not the iPhone as far as I can tell.

I'm also having this issue and it seem to be a silly limitation to me. Using the same iTunes account, I was able to upload music and apps from my phone to my wife's computer. However, I can't put any of the music on her computer to my iPhone....strange that it works one way but not the other. Both computers authorized using the same iTunes account. Never thought that it would be an issue, since I'm able to do this with my various iPods.

  • Unable to upload photos to Costco from iPhoto 11.

Hard drive went bad on my iMac. When they replaced it, they upgraded me to OS X, 10.7.2 and iPhoto 11, 9.2.1. Now I can't upload photos to Costco from iPhoto.
On the previous iPhoto I could IF I used the one-by-one uploader. A pain but at least it recognized my iPhoto pictures. Now I can't even get to them at all from any Costco attempt. Anyone else having trouble with Costco? Any ideas?
    Thanks!

I should have called Costco before posting here and wasting the time of anyone reading this.  In case anyone else needs specific info from Costco, they are helpful when you call 866-459-9284.
Two mistakes I have been making.  The first occurs when I click upload photos and leave the upload speed on Costco's default setting of "Fast (up to 5x faster!)".  The option below "Fast: is "Full Resolution".  I had never noticed the small print that explains fast as being useful for up to 8 x 10 prints, calendars and photo gifts but Full Resolution for enlargements and posters.  So for anyone else ordering larger prints from Costco, select Full Resolution at the point where you select photos in the Costco site.  Failing to do this is what caused my 3.1 MB file to upload as 700 KB for a 12 x 18 collage.
The other info the Costco rep passed along was to Export photos at Maximum from iPhoto to Desktop as opposed to simply copying and pasting or dragging onto Desktop.  Again using the 3.1 MB collage file as an example.....when I copied it onto the desktop, the file was 3.1 MB but when I exported it from iPhoto to the desktop at Maximum, the file became 10.2MB.
Here is the message Costco support sent to me, in case it will help anyone else reading this.
We have enclosed the following steps to assist you with exporting photos from iPhoto.
    1. Open iPhoto and find your image or images. If you're exporting a single image, click on it to highlight it. If you're exporting a series, click on the first image and S-click on the last image to highlight them. If you want to export an album, open it and press C+[A] to highlight all. Then click on the File menu and choose Export.
    2. Click on the File Export tab and make sure the image format is set to JPEG for best results. (Even if exporting to the same format, choose JPEG as the image format type from the list instead of Original or Current. The Original and Current choices won't give you some of the exporting options that may be available.)
    3. For File Name you can choose the current file name, the title that you've given the image in iPhoto, a named sequential order, or an album name.
    4. Choose a location where you'd like to export the image or images. We recommend creating a new folder for the images on the Desktop to easily keep them together. Click on the New Folder button and name it something easy to locate (e.g. „Costco pics‰).
    5. Click on the OK button to export.

  • How do I sync photos onto my ipad from multiple computers?

My dad just got an ipad and we're trying to sync pictures from multiple computers.  He's already synced pictures from his computer.  But there are some pictures on my computer that he wants too.  Every time I try to sync photos from my comptuer to his ipad, a menu pops up and asks if I want to replace his existing photos.    I don't want to replace his photos with my photos.  I just simply want to add to his collection of photos.
Of course I can always transfer photos on my computer onto a flash drive and upload it onto his computer.  But I want to know if there is a way where I can sync photos from multiple computers onto his ipad without replacing his original pictures.. (and without using a flash drive or emailing pictures)
    Thanks

Only the contents of the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad, and not including photos in a sync is how you delete them from the iPad - so you need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad in one go. There are third-party apps for the iPad such as Simple Transfer that allow you to transfer photos to the iPad via your wifi network, but they will just go into the Saved Photo/Camera Roll album on the iPad - though with iOS 5 in the Autumn you will then be able to move photos between albums on the iPad

    Hi all,
The User is trying to upload a text file from Multiple Selection screen of a Query in BEx and it gives the error message of 'No Upload Authorization' (Error DB886).
In 'Logon data' tab of Tcode SU01, it has 'User' for 'User Group for Authorization check' for this User.
I could upload a text file from Multiple Selection screen with my User Id.
An idea about this error, PLEASE ?
    Thanks,

    Hi Ron,
This User does not have the access to Tcode ST01.
The user executed Tcode SU53 immediately following the authorization failure to see the authorization objects. The 'Authorization obj' is blank and under the Description it has 'The last Authorization check was successful' with green tick mark.
      Any further suggestions, PLEASE.
    Thanks.
