Help with Web page

I have maintained a website for many years here. Recently, I have decided I need to make some updates.
I always used FTP protocol to upload the new changes, but no that that is no longer accepted by verizon, how do I upload the updates.

How to add Portal iViews with Web Page Composer

Hi,
We are working with Web Page Composer in EP7.0 SP13.
We are creating web pages and we would need to add Portal iViews into. When we try to add an iView, we cannot select it from Web Content Browser to drop into the web page container.
How can we add iViews into our web pages?

[WP8.1][C#]Interacting with web pages in WinRT

I'm writing a Windows Phone 8.1 application. How would I programmatically interact with web pages- for example, search something on Google?
The main problem seems to be, I can't access the underlying HTML document of the WebView control.
What I have tried so far:
using HtmlAgilityPack (only supports parsing, can't interact)
trying to get underlying document w/ reflection (limited WinRT reflection APIs)
looking into other cross-platform GUI toolkits, such as Qt# (also do not provide access to document object)

The point I do not understan is if I save file web A, as Web B and then I change page names, master and so on, and the I up load, why does muse overwrite in file A when pages are different name !!!!
The point is Muse does not allow to copy / paste !!!

I'm not sure I've got a grasp on the issue you are having but let me give it a try
Website A is finished and you have uploaded it to the Internet, so it is LIVE.
You make a copy of Website A, and call it Website B, then make all required changes.
IF you uploaded Website B, then it is likely you will overwrite Website A. You must instead, upload Website B as a separate Website.
To publish to a new site:
Click Publish.
Then click the expansion triangle left of Options.
Change Publish To setting to New Site
fill out rest of required details, and click OK to publish.
You'll now have two separate web-sites.
If you need to link between them, use absolute hyperlinks (the full URL).

I would use a search help exit. Nothing WDA specific here, as this has been possible long before WDA came around. With a search help exit you define the search help like normal, but instead of database table or view being the source of selection, you have a function module. Within the coding of this function module you can call an RFC to read data from another system or call a web service if you need to bridge over to something that isn't ABAP based.

Help please - Synching Word text with web pages

Hi,
I'm creating a welcome page to display in our company's front lobby to welcome guests. Another department is going to be in charge of updating names, so want I'm trying to do is insert a Word document in each cell where names will change. Files are named "Guest Name 1," "Guest Name 2," etc. I'm trying to find a way where these Word docs can be "linked" to cells instead of placed so when the names are changed and resaved, the name changes synch on the web page as well. Does anyone know if this is possible, or how to do this? Or if there's an easier way?
I appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks for your reply.
The screen in the lobby will point to a web address, similiar to an internet page. We have our own server. I'm not in IT, so I don't know all the details, but I know the page will be similar to our intranet.
I've never made a dynamic site before. Can you tell me what that means? And if another work station is responsible for adding guest names to the guest screen, would they need special software to make changes?

Help with web form script. PHP, CGI, Perl???

anyone willing to help with a web form script? I have a form built, but cant seem to figure out the scripting! Should I be using Perl, CGI, PHP... What do I need to enable? I am a complete novice when it comes to scripts. Looking for a little friendly help.

Here is a simple bit of PHP to stick in the page your form posts to. You would need to edit the first three variables to your liking, and add the html you want to serve afterwards:

This script will grab the server's date and the submitter's address and browser type. It will then list the name and value of each form field you have put on your form.
Also, this script expects your form method="post".
Lastly, you can offer alternate text later on in your html page based on the success of the above script with a snippet like this:

Linksys active x problem with web pages

When i install linksys active X for viewing live video with camera WVC54GCA i cannot open other web pages.I am using Windows XP and Internet explorer 8.Is there any solution for this problem???

Installation of Active X does not prevent any web pages to load, if you have installed Active X then you certainly should be able to view all the web pages inclucding the web pages that contains flash that helps in viewing certain kinds of files, and displaying animation...
Adjust your browser settings :
Open an IE, click Tools >> Internet Options, then delete all files, cookies, history, forms...Goto "Connections", make sure Never Dial a Connection is checked, click on LAN Settings and make sure all the options are unchecked...Once you are done click on O.k...Close the IE and re-open it...
Did you try to browse the Internet using a different web browser ?

Malfunction with Web Page Buttons/Tabs

I am running the latest versions of Flash Player, and I run Windows 7. Until a few days ago, I was able to use the Internet normally. Now I have lost some function: The browser seems to read web page tabs and some buttons (although curiously not all) as images instead of as links. Even then, I cannot always log into my account on a given site, nor can I switch tabs.
For a specific example, on my local library's web page, I cannot place a hold using the Hold button either in the catalogue search screen or in the item's record. I cannot log onto yugiohcardmaker at all. I cannot switch tabs on the Aeria Games Free AP offers page. I can still log in on other pages, so this loss of partial function is curious and frustrating.
I do not know whether this is an issue with Flash Player, but the last time I had compatability issues with Real Player and Photobucket, software versions were part of the issue. Please let me know what you find. I have tried using Firefox and Chrome, and neither work with these functions.

You would need a library card and account to test the libraries' buttons. Help with CSS Page Layout

I guess I am "old school" in that I have always used tables
to lay out my web pages. I decided I must learn to do it with CSS,
but I'm having a terrible time (and it shouldn't be so hard!). I
understand how to define the styles, add divs, etc. Here's what I'm
having trouble with:
How do I specify the normal page width to be 800 pixels,
however I want it to be relative to the browser (i.e., 100% of 800
pixels).
I understand the "float" tag, but if I have a right-hand
sidebar, I can't seem to get the text to the left (in a div called
"maincontent") to stop at the sidebar and wrap to the next line. I
tried specifying "Hidden" as my textbook suggests, but that has no
effect.
I can easily do all of this with tables, so do I really need
to abandon them?

I'll try to answer all your questions, then a tip or two to
stop the main
content from dropping when the browser window size is
reduced.

That's right.
margin: 0px auto; is actaully saying make the top margin 0,
the right margin
auto, the bottom margin 0 and the left margin auto.
It's just CSS shorthand.
For example, you might have:
margin-top: 10px;
margin-right: 20px;
margin-bottom: 5px;
margin-left:15px;
You could just use margin: {10px 20px 5px 15px;}
Think of a clock to remember the directions.
12:00 top, 3:00 right, 6:00 bottom, 9:00 left.
If any of the values are the same, you can shorten it more.
For example, if top is 10, right is 20, bottom is 5 and left
is 20, it's
margin: {10px 20px 5px;}
If the 4th location (left) is missing a value, it makes it
the same as what
you have for right.
If top and bottom are 10px, and left and right are 20px,
it's:
margin {10px 20px;}
If the last two positions ( bottom and left vlaues ) are
missing, then it
will use the top value for the bottom, and the right value
for the left.
What auto right and left is doing is subtracting your content
width (the
container width) from the browser window width, and then
dividing the
remainder in 2 and applying each value to each side of the
container.

The only text that should be Time is the text in your main
content, where
you have that font defined. Everything else should be Arial
if you define
the body as such. I'll post a link at the end of this.

You don't need to give the h1 a class. You can actually just
style the h1
tag:

and you can
style these just like the h1 style above.

That way, I don't have to try to get a number of different
elements to align
with the right and left sides by applying values to all of
them, which can
get tricky quickly.

Yes, you can give that div a background image. You just need
to make the div
the same size as the image so you see it all (or vice-versa).
Now, to make that maincontent not drop like it does you can
remove the width
in the CSS. Now it will expand over to the left edge of the
rightsidebar.
You can control how close it gets by giving the right sidebar
a bigger left
margin. The point is, with no width assigned, the maincontent
will shrink
down to the longest word in it before it drops.

Help with Web Authentication

Having a couple of issues with web authentication, and not getting much help from Cisco TAC. Basically, I'm trying to set up different login pages for each WLAN (so far I have two) with a 4402 controller running 5.1.151.
For one WLAN, I'm using the internal (default) login page with the following modifications: Cisco Logo is hidden, custom Headline and custom Message. User authentication is done through RADIUS. This works great, but every time I reboot the controller, my custom Message disappears and I get the generic Cisco message, which I don't want. When I add the custom message, I make sure to click Apply and Save Configuration.. don't know if this is a bug or not, anyone else seeing this?
For the second WLAN, because I need a different login page, I've tried using a customized downloaded login page and also an external web page.
For the external web authentication, the documentation says you don't need a pre-authentication ACL and yet without this, the redirect doesn't work. Does anyone have this working without an ACL? Also, the sample login page provided by Cisco does not work and I have no clue what code is needed for the username and password credentials to be passed on to WLC for RADIUS authentication.
As for the customized downloaded login page, I've gotten a sample page from Cisco which they've said they do not support and this page has several issues which I can't seem to get around: it redirects users to the generic welcome page (which we don't want), and does not prompt the user when they enter incorrect credentials (though I can tell the code for this is there).
So, I'm wondering if anyone has either an external or internal login page that is working properly and is willing to point me in the right direction?

We have had some similar issues with the controllers not telling user they have used the right username/password, but have solved it. Whether it will help or not we can let you have a copy of our login.tar file if you want, just stick your email address in a reply.
As far as I know, there is only one place to enter a re-direct page, which is in the config for the default web auth page and all web auth methods use this re-direct...that is our experience at least.

Creating a Simple IOS / Android APP with web pages?

Hi all,
Recently I created a simple backend database driven website for a clients customers to see their info. The client wants to have his own "Company App", primarily for the marketing aspects. I was thinking that it might be possible to have a super simple basic app just showing/using the web pages that we already have.
I already made some pages with custom tailored css to iphone and could expand this concept to other models - android etc.
I have never tried to make an ios or andriod app before, but...
Q: Would it be possible to create a simple app DEMO that can display/use the css iphone page I already made? If I wanted to look more into this (and even work with other dev's) where would I start?

Mobile Apps are standalone pieces of mobile software that you design, compile with Phone Gap and then upload to Google Play or Apple's App store. From there mobile users can purchase (most are free) download & install apps on their device. Apps include just about everything from GPS & traffic info, to sports, games, entertainment, health & fitness tracking. You name it, it's probably out there. A mobile app is not a web site, although the app may indeed be tied to the creator's web site so he can sell more apps. But an app is just an app. A web site is a web site. 2 different things.
