maybe if anyone has any ideas on
how to help it

When you say it won't work, what exactly is going on? Is it not turning on at all? Is it not hooking up and loading content on your PC or what?

OS X "Help" won't work.

Mountain Lion OS X has recently been installed, and "Help" for Safari, MS Word, Dictionary, MS Excel, Mail, iTunes, Notes, Calculator, and there may be others, will not function. "Help" is accessible, but you can proceed only so far before the following appears:
"The selected topic is currently unavailable
Make sure you're connected to the Internet. For help connecting, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Network, and click "Assist me."
If you're connected to the Internet, and the content still doesn't appear, try again later."
"Try again later" receives the same response.
The iMac is a late 2009, and utilizes Hughes Satellite as the Internet service provider.
Safari connects to the Internet; a test Email, and Note to my BlackBerry, and an Email to iCloud functioned just fine, so iMac is connected to the Internet, except iMac "Help" can't seem to recognize that.
The iMac "Help" functions just fine in the store. Snow Leopard worked fine, prior to installing Mountain Lion.
Apple has been most gracious in attempting resolve the problem via numerous telephone calls, and two store visits, to no avail. Apple checks of the iMac indicate it to be performing properly.
Apple now says "it's Hughes problem;" Hughes, of course, says "it's Apples problem." A "hard reset" of the Hughes system has been performed, with no effect.
I've been a Mac user since 1985, but am not "computer savvy," so any constructive ideas will be sincerely appreciated.

I've been chasing this for almost a year. My Wildblue Exede satellite ISP and my back up Verison hot spot (3G) both duplicate your Hughes experience. I too consider myself an illiterate MAC user. (Only switched in 2008 when I picked up a Macbook and later an iMac.)
In the Exede case the proprietary network accelerator called AcceleNet is the source of the problem, in my opinion. Seems that the satellite data center DNS servers are restricted to the Via-Sat SurfBeam 2 ground system. The idea is that satellite users receive reduced bandwidth consumption by depending on data center located applications for things like remote access VPN and software distribution. The hook, of course, is that the center has to enable each such application. The waiting list is verrry long.
Since Verizon has been installing the LTE system in our neighborhood, the LTE hotspot does incorporate Apple help in it's inventory. So my backup for Apple help involves borrowing the iPhone from my wife. Guess I'll get her a new iPhone 6 when it happens, so I can inherit the 5 and sell the 4.
While Via-Sat claims full compatibility with Mac products, they seem uninterested in turning on Mac Help.
The best suggestion I was able to get from a Via-Sat source was, "Google it".

I have not had wifi since November when I upgraded to the newest IOS version. I called the Apple help line and they told me some things to do and I tried them all and they worked for a few hours and then wifi shut off again. I kept doing what they told me and it worked for a couple more days and then I could never turn it on again. My blue tooth doesn't work either. I had to actually increase my data usage with AT&T becuase of this. When I did that in December I went to the Apple store and was told that it is a hardware issue and since my phone is out of warranty I would have to pay for a new phone because they could not fix the issue. My upgrade isn't up until June 2014 so not only do I have to wait for the upgrade and I am not paying for a new phone but I have to pay $10 plus extra a month on my cell phone bill because I was going over on my Data!!! I have been beyond upset about this and Apple is not doing anything about this nor did they offer up some way to resolve the issue because obviously it is not just some rare incident if several people are having this issue. Who knows how many people out there have had this issue and have not said anything about it. Now there is a newer update that I can't do because it requires wifi in order to download.
June can not get here fast enough and I may not go back to Iphone after dealing with this for so long with no help from Apple.

This has nothing to do with iPhoto. When I have this type of problem I call tech support for my email service. They probably are the only source of the correct settings

Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
Turn off SnapChat.
Go to Settings > Notification Center
Turn off SnapChat.
Restart the device.
Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
Turn on SnapChat.

Help in the mail won't work

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but I'm lost. The help in the mail programme on OSX 10.4 won't work; the small window appears but nothing comes up and I have to force quit to close it. I'm trying to send an attachment and finding it impossible. In the missing manual book it says that I should be able to compress the picture but the button isn't there for me to do this. What is wrong and what can I do to make it right? Also I tried to send an attachment online at the yahoo site but the browser does not support this Why? Any help will be very welcome Thank you. Teresa

I have recently updated my Apple TV (gen 2) and now Airplay video won't work. I can hear the audio, but no video. I have unplugged, replugged, restarted. Help! This problem is all post-upgrade.

My apple tv which has always worked beautifully is not picking up airplay from my ipad. It is picking up the audio, and it will certainly do that "mirroring" thing where you watch a grainy computer screen on your tv, but it won't work the way it used to. Any help? I have plugged and unplugged, reset and restarted everthing to no avail. Icons are available, I see the apple tv option on all devices but it just won't do it's thing. Help!

Sometimes a simple power cycle of your your wireless network can resolve some AirPlay issues. I would also recommend closing any open applications in multitasking and restarting the device. If unfamiliar with multitasking, I have included a screenshot on how to process an application close.

HELP ME PLEASE!!! I need to get this figured out.... it won't work!

Here is my issue. One time while my i-pod was updating it froze along with i-tunes. So, I didn't disconnect it but I had to restart it. Of course that made me lose all the music on the i-pod. So, then it now, I can't get any music back onto the i-pod. I have tried restarting and reconnecting but it just won't work. My i-tunes says that it is updating and putting all the songs back onto the i-pod but then once the update is "complete" there is no music or videos on the i-pod. However, the pics are still there. Does anyone know how I can fix this?!?! Help please!! thanks a bunch!

If you are using manual update, make sure you selecting what items are to be put on your ipod.

IPod touch 3G won't work after falling in water? Help!

Ok it's been 3 months since my iPod touch fell in the...toilet. I immediately put it in rice after pushing all the buttons. It was only in the water for a second. When I picked it up the screen was dim, flickering, then when black. I wiped it off and put it in rice. I left it in rice for about four days. I finally plugged it up to the charger and after 20 minutes it came on. It told me I needed to plug it up to iTunes so I did. I restored it and when it was restored I tried to slide the bar at the bottom of the screen but it would never register. So I let it die and when I charged it again it wanted me to restore it AGAIN! I've restored it about five times!! Each time the touch screen won't work and it doesn't hold a charge very well. Also every time it does it wants me to restore it. What's wrong with it and how can I fix it? Oh and the home button doesn't work.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

Help please - GB won't work - Midi driver conflict with Snow Leopard

I use Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on my MacBook Pro. Ever since I upgraded to this version GarageBand won't work. When I try to launch it I get 3 or 4 pop up screens saying GB has detected software midi conflicts please update your midi drivers. If I click through these and wait for 3 or 4 minutes, GB does open but it takes ages to change anything and it shows there is no Core Audio. It also won't 'Play' an already recorded track and there is no sound for anything.   I have several plugins Including Line 6 Podfarm, and the midi drivers for Melodyne and record through an old Tascam US122 with midi.
One driver for the Podfarm was automatically put in an incompatibel Software folder when I upgraded. I put this file in Trash and updated my Podfarm drivers but it's made no difference.
In GB Preferences it shows the Tascam US122 as my recording/playback and my midi device, but also 'no midi device detected' even though it is connected.   There are no driver updates for this old Tascam model.
Everything still works perfectly in Melodyne. How can I find out which driver(s) are involved in the conflict for GB? I have no guarantee that even if I buy a new Tascam interface, or any other brand, that GB will work, even then.
Is there a way to identify which driver, or drivers, are the problem? Surely that is not beyond what a MacBook Pro can do?

I should have mentioned I use GarageBand 2009. I've read other posts all over the web where people have trouble with this Tascam US122 but with the older Leopard versions. I had no problem with ordinary Leopard 10.5.6 - it's only since I upgraded to Snow Leopard, and it's only in GB.
I've tried a powered hub which has helped others, but doesn't help with my problem.
I reallly only want to know which driver/drivers are the problem.
Then I can work out a solution, even if it means buying a new interface. So long as I can't identify what the problem is, I'm not prepared to buy new equipment that might make no difference at all.

Thanks for you suggestion but it didn't work - are there other ways for solving this problem? Or is it because my files that I want to copy and paste onto my hard disk etc are too big? (However there is space on my hard disk and it works on a PC)
