Help, wrong i- tunes library. Most recent one is gone.

Help! I opened i tunes one day and it asked me to select a library. Thinking that I didn't want to create a new one, i decided to choose one. It said previous i- tunes library. I chose the one that was last month's but somehow, my most recent library has been lost. All of my recent purchases too. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

After updating to iOS 5, my most recent backup is gone! HELP!!

The iPhone update began Wednesday night; before starting, I attempted to do a backup a few times, and it failed. As the update began, the backup refused to work then as well. After a couple attempts with errors, I checked the list of backups in "Preferences" to see when the last backup was recorded. It said "yesterday," which wasn't too far back, so I let the update skip the backup, intending to let my phone restore from the prior day, should it need to.
Later, when iTunes asked me to select a restore, the one from the prior day was missing. The latest backup showed June 22. I let it continue, just wanting to have my phone in a functional state, but somehow hoping that it had it wrong, that it was actually the more recent backup. After following the iOS 5 setup steps, I checked my text messages - and it showed the last texts were from June 22.
A little upset, but not yet giving up, I found the hidden folder where backups were stored. The latest files were also from June 22.
I also checked the Recycle Bin, which contained an .ipsw file. It had the word "restore" in the file name ("iPhone2,1_4.3.5_8L1_Restore"), so I attempted to use it to restore my phone to its prior state by holding down SHIFT while clicking the restore button in iTunes (a Google search led me to this). After 9 attempts at this, I gave up, and brought my phone back to factory settings temporarily, so I could have a working phone before going to school. I found out afterwards that the file was only an operating system file and contained nothing of my former settings (even though one forum claimed to have found their actual backup located in the Recycle Bin in a similar situation).
I'd very much like to have all my recent text messages, etc. back on my phone. I usually backup my phone pretty regularly, so the fact that the "most recent" one goes all the way back to June is positively bewildering. This is really ruining my experience with the new iOS, and my phone in general.

That's probably because it's been sent out to a Bcc'd mailing list and that's the name on the main version. This is so that you don't see the other names.
If it doesn't come from something @apple.com then it's spam. Even if it appears to it's probably spam. If you want to change your password go directly to http://appleid.apple.com - do not follow any links in the email (even if they appear to lead to that address.)

Can I restore an older backup than the most recent one from iCloud

My phone had to be reset and I want to restore my phone with an older backup than the most recent one. Is it possible to access older backups with iCloud?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Use your backup copy to put everything back.

Is there no way an ipod can be used to restore the lost music? Yes, some of it was from cds but were done a long time ago. Need to Update Flashplayer but I have the most recent one.

Hi. I will start by saying that I am computer illiterate, so I will need careful and patient help. Here is my issue: Whenever I try to play a video, You Tube or otherwise, I am told I need to update flashplayer. When I go to update it, I am told that I need to close windows messenger. According to my settings, messenger is disabled. Whenever i get rid of the messenger box, I am told that installation is incomplete. Also, according to my settings, I have the most recent version of flashplayer installed, 10.1.102.64, the one for IE.
On a totally unrelated note, what is the difference between Spyware and anti virus protection? I have McAffee.

I need your computer info, as XP, Vista, Win7? Also what version of the IE browser? If you don't know, go up to Help at the top of the IE and click on it, then About Internet Explorer.

Does TB provide a way to download the oldest headers/messages in newsgroups first instead of the most recent ones?

Using TB 31.6.0. I want the oldest msgs. first because they are the ones in most danger of being removed from the server.

i don't think it's possible... if you want you can restrict it to fiscal year 2007.

I bought a Season Pass for Bones Season 9, and now the only episode is the most recent one. I can not redownload any of the previous episodes. Help!

It gives me a a price for the previous episodes. And on the left corner where there is usually a price on Season pass. It says purchased, but I still have to pay $2.99 for the previous episodes. 1st Generation iPod Nano with iTunes 7 (the most recent one)

I have a first generation 2GB iPod Nano, and updated my iTunes to the newest version. But now, I can't seem to update the songs on my iPod with songs in my iTunes library. I click "sync iPod", but no new songs from my library goes into my iPod. I never had this problem before with the other iTunes. Can someone please help me to fix this so I can put new songs on my iPod? Thanks a lot.

You have to wait several minutes for iTunes to recognize any new iPod or iPhone after the 7.7 update. There is a major bug with the program. Apple has removed the download from their servers, which I don't think they have ever done, even with minor issues of previous iTunes releases in the past... I'm sure they are working on it and I hope to see iTunes 7.7.1 ready to download soon.
Don't force quit iTunes, even though you'll see the "spinning beach ball" for several minutes. Let it hang and eventually it will recognize the ipod. It is very inconvenient, but we'll have to wait until there is an iTunes update that fixed this.

Half of the messages in my Sent folder (the most recent ones, covering the past 2 1/2 years) have suddenly disappeared.

The earlier ones are still there.

Try repairing the folder. Right-click it, choose Properties > General Information > Repair Folder. If that does not work, go into the profile, open Mail folder, and delete Sent.msf (not Sent with no extension).
How often do you compact folders? You should do that frequently.

Restoring From An Older Backup Than The Most Recent One Occurred.

Today I was backing up my iPod touch as per usual. I waited and waited (it took a fair while). When it finished I looked a the usage of the device and it had changed alot. I was very confused. I looked at my songs and they had all been wiped off. I went to restore the device to the latest backup but by the time I had done that the whole iPod had backed up again. This means I cannot find the backup before that.
My question is does it save older backups automatically anywhere?

Do you have a backup of your computer system from an earlier date? If so you can replace the current backup file with the one from the earlier date and then restore that backup. In Vista, your backup file is located in C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup (substitute your login name for user)
