HELP!! WRT 150N -- Wii

Hey, i need some help regarding the connection to my wii from my wireless router (wrt 150n). My wii gives me the error code 51332 when try to connect, which means that i am "unable to connect to the internet." my internet everywhere else works. My setup goes like this: PC + WRT150N ))))))))))))))) PC (wireless) Ive tried searching the net but i cant find anything that makes sense to me. All this stuff about mac address and changing my "channel" is confusing and ontop of that i cannot find anywhere to change my wireless settings. Ive tried disabling my firewall, changing my wep/wpa settings and havnt found a solution. Any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
Try setting your Wii IP to a DMZ IP number. I've got mine in 192.168.0.3 for DMZ and DHCP for a pool of ten ip numbers 192.168.0.4 to 192.168.0.14. That way you can skip a lot of problems for service filtering. Also check DNS addresses and MTU size (mine is 1500).
its kind of a static ip address for ur WII.

  • V1 vs v1.1 WRT-150N

Does anyone know what the differences are supposed to be between the v1 and 1.1 releases of the WRT-150N? I noticed today that the Linksys technical support pages now had two revisions for this wireless router. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any markings on the packaging or the router than indicates v1 or v1.1. Interestingly, the unit does have a 12/2006 on it which makes me wonder if it was built in December of last year. I suspect that suggests v1.

A router without a version right beside the model number is a version 1.
Anyway here are the differences as per www.linksys.com/downloads
    WRT150N v1
    1.00.5 First release
    WRT150N v1.1
    1.01.2
    1. Fixed the various web interface alignment.
    2. Fixed port forwarding text and GUI changes.
    3. Fixed issue with setup wizard not passing the correct passphrase.
    4. Fixed Start IP Address not working correctly.
    5. Fixed DHCP table sorting fails.
    6. Fixed setup page help file.
    7. Fixed router not supporting space character for Password.
    8. Fixed ping packet size maximum limit in diagnostic page.
    9. Fixed router and wireless stability.
This actually means that your version 1 WRT150N can become a WRT150N v 1.1 when you upgrade the firmware.

  • Bridging an E3000 with a WRT-150N

Is there a walkthrough on how to set up a Client Bridge on the WRT-150N? Will I need to change to a third party firmware? I need to have wireless access at a remote area in a new house and don't want holes in the new walls for unsightly cables. My primary router is a new E3000. My bridge is a WRT-150N (ver. 1.01). RpSr

You'll need 3rd party firmware. Check instructions for 3rd party firmware for details.

  • WRT-150N Not allowing connection?

Hey everyone, I posted this over in LELA too, but I am just trying to figure this one out...
I have a 150N, 2 Dell 1420 Laptops (vista), a Dell 510e Desktop and a WD My Book World Edition NAS Hard Disk attached to the router.
My 510 and the Drive come up without any issue - the first 1420 comes up no problems (LELA installed) - but the 2nd 1420 does not come up consistently. They are set up exactly the same and both have LELA installed.
One thing I did notice is that when LELA was installed on the first 1420, the windows networking icon in the Systray was removed. The second 1420 has the icon still there (LELA icon is there as well).
I'm pretty versed in home networking, but this one has me baffled... I upgraded from a Linksys B series router that worked great, but was not encrypted. This one is set to WPA2-Personal...
OS: VISTA (laptops - wireless) XP (desktop - wired) - ISP: Verizon - WRT-150N Router (WPA2-Personal) and only have a problem connecting consistently with ONE wireless connection...?
    Any thoughts?

I'm able to detect the network (and router) on the first laptop and the desktop (hardwired) but I'm not able to see it on the 2nd laptop. The only difference in the laptops is one is running McAfee and the other is running Trends Micro...
    It's very strange....
When I do a hard reset (unplug the router) it does bring the network back up for the 2nd machine to see, but I lose the network drive on the 1st machine for a few mintues.
More than anything, it's a pain to have to reset to get the 2nd machine to see it. I've been using a B series forever and know the routers pretty well. This one is just baffling to me...

  • Help Please with Wii

I have a Mac OSX 10.6.3 and would like to connect my Wii game to it for the purpose of playing iTunes radio stations from the Wii in a different room than the room the Mac is in. I would like to use either Bluetooth or Airport.....or for that fact I guess any way to connect the Wii to my computer wireless to play music.
Q- Can anyone please help me with how to do this ? What steps do I need to take.
    Thank you for any help.

There are no "iTunes Radio Stations" as such. If you're referring to the stations listed in the Radio section of iTunes, as I presume you are, those are independent stations being streamed from some other server and do not need iTunes at all. So if your Wii is capable of accessing streaming radio, it should be able to connect to them directly (if the Wii doesn't have a similar list of stations, looking up the station via the web and then finding their direct link should get you going). How to do that would be a question best taken up on a Wii-related web site, as would your question about how to use your Wii with a wireless network.
    Regards.

  • Plz help!  My Wii made me lose my internet!

So I basically epic failed at trying to connect my Nintendo Wii to my airport. What happened was I opened Airport Utility and attempted to add the "MAC Address" from my Wii to the airport Utility. This is the first time I've really used Airport Utility and know generally nothing technical about the airport. All I know is that I've had working internet from the Airport Express for almost two years. So I added the MAC address (it is the only address there, if that makes a difference) and it was SUCCESSFUL! Then it said it need to restart the airport for it to work, and it was also successful. This is where the problem began. I closed Airport Utility and although my Mac can SEE my Verizon Network, it cannot see the Airport. I tried opening Airport Utility and scanning for the Airport and it can't find it AT ALL! I tried unplugging the Airport and plugging it back it...Nothing. And every time click on my internet service it has this crazy password saved that is about 20 or more characters, which doesn't work and neither does my original password. WHAT IN THE WORLD DID I DO? Can I fix it, even if my Mac can't find the airport? Or am I better off buying another airport?

Cooleke, Welcome to the discussion area!
Do a hard reset of the AirPort Express (AX). It will then return to factory settings.
There is NO need to add the MAC address of the Wii to your AX. Once you did that and since it was the only one listed you told the AX to allow ONLY the Wii to connect wirelessly.

  • Help wrt to Unix script using egrep

In one of our script, we are checking whether already an instance of process is running in the system using the commands ps and egrep.
An intermediate process is created with the same name as original process before invoking the egrep, which is resulting the result of grep to be incorrect.
The following code is in the script /opt/check.sh is resulting in the problem.
    RESULT=`/usr/ucb/ps -auxww | egrep "/opt/check.sh ${PARAM}" | grep -v "log" | grep -v "grep" `
    The above code is
    solaris9{root} #: ps -ef | egrep "/opt/check.sh"
    nmsadm 11500 11498 0 10:45:16 pts/6 0:00 egrep /opt/check.sh -s
    nmsadm 11498 11431 0 10:45:16 pts/6 0:00 /bin/sh /opt/check.sh -s
    nmsadm 11431 28568 0 10:45:13 pts/6 0:00 /bin/sh /opt/check.sh -s
    solaris9{root} #: ptree 11498
    We are using solaris9.
If anyone has any idea pleas let me know.
    Thanks in advance

OK, I agree, current script will be also displayed, but my solution is still better ;)
    pgrep -x program_name | grep -v $$
One line, and so easy. But if you really want to have only one instance of some script at the time I propose you another solution:
    #!/bin/bash
    # location of lock file, /var/run is quite good place because it's empty
    # after every reset (virtual filesystem placed in memory). Many of other
    # Solaris application puts his lock files here
    LOCK=/var/run/somescript.lock
    # check if there is lock file
    if [ -e $LOCK ]
    then
    # some error message
echo "Another instance is running allready. Exiting." >&2
    # if you want to now everything about running instance
    ps -fp `cat $LOCK`
    # exiting now
    exit 1
    fi
    # to be sure that lock file will be deleted at the end of execution
    trap 'rm -f $LOCK' EXIT
    # here lock file with process PID is created
    echo $$ > $LOCK
< here is the rest of your script unchanged>
This solution is better if you only want to be sure, that there is only one instance of process running at one time. Previous one, with pgrep, if you want to check if another script is running. I missunderstood your question at the beginning.
    Hope this helps.

  • Cannot RESET my WRT 150N router

Tried hard reser (30 seconds), power light does not flash.  Tried internet access, http://192.168.1.1, get an error.
Powered off for a long time.  Nothing.
When ON, I have power light solidly lit and INTERNET light flashing, but none of the 3 connected ETHERNET port lights is on.
Odd thing is, when I enabled my iPHONE HOTSPOT, the router recognized it and I'm on the internet wirelessly through that fluke connection.  I'm afraid to turn it off.
    HELP!

It seems that wired connection is not working.
How many wired computers/devices do you have connected to the router?
What IP address do you get on the wired computer?
Disconnect all the cables from the router.
Connect the power cable to the router.
Connect the modem to the Internet port on the router.
Connect one computer to the Ethernet port on the router.
Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and try to reconfigure it. On your router you will see 4 lights lit up ( Power, wireless, Internet and Ethernet 1)
If you get a valid IP address like 192.168.1.xxx on the wired computer then try to access the router setup page by 192.168.1.1.

  • WRT 150N: modify nat global.......

Hello, I am attempting to assist an aquaintance who is having this problem with their router: When leaving a game server (HL2DM) they cannot connect to another server for an extended period of time, say twenty minutes.
Interestingly, I had exactly the same problem with my British Telecom Voyager 205 wired router and to resolve it what I did was modify the following commands via Telnet:
modify nat global tcpidletimeout 1800 tcpclosewait 30 tcptimeout 10 udptimeout 15.
Does the Linksys use the same instruction set as the Voyager? i.e. can they enter the same commands? If not what are the appropriate settings to modify? Or can you suggest another solution?
I'd be very grateful for any help. Thanks in advance. BM

  • WRT 150N v 1.1 Sloooooow Wireless

I am a computer tech and just installed this router and tested on a wired connection with blazing speed.
I set it for Wireless G only on Channel 11 with WPA2.  I am about 30 feet away from the router and I am using a Wireless G Linksys USB adapter.
The speeds I get are brutally slow, and 1/100th of the speeds of wired.  I even used my netbook with Wireless N card which will drop to G and I get same speeds.
Can anyone tell me what is going on with this router?  I upgraded firmware as well today.

Have you checked on different wireless computer...?
First of all, I would suggest you to reset the router as you have upgraded the router's firmware.Now,re-configure the router from scratch. Now,check if that makes any difference. Also, check the connection on different wireless computer

  • Router WRT 150N Freezing Up at High DSL Rates

After upgrading to 6Mb/768kb DSL service, my router is freezing up on regular basis. I had a 3Mb/512kb before and things were OK. The solution is to turn off then turn on the modem/router/computer. My router has the latest firmware. I will appreciate hearing from anyone who has had this problem and was able to find a successful solution to it. Thanks in advance. Garen

Your router should easily handle 6 Mbps.
Here are some possible causes for your problem:
    1)  After the firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch.  If you have not done this since the last firmware upgrade, then please do this now, and see if it corrects your problem.   If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.
    2) If your modem is rather old, this could be the cause for your problem.  Please state the make and exact model number of your modem (not the WRT150N).
    3)  Are you running any peer-to-peer (P2P) programs?  This is a known cause for router slowdowns, freezes, and disconnections.
    4)  Connect your computer directly to your modem (not the WRT150N).  Do you still have the same problem?  If so, its not the WRT150N.
    5)  Are you running an unsecured wireless network?  If so, perhaps your neighbor is logging into your router and crashing it by running P2P software.

  • E4200 Disabled File and Printer sharing

I just upgraded form a WRT 150N to an E4200 router. The main computer, a pc is attached to it with a wire. The other computers are wireless and laptops. The main computer runs windows 7. One laptop runs XP and the other vista. After the installation internet access worked normally. The network sharing and printing worked fine before installing the E4200. Now only the base computer can see shared files on the others. The two laptops cannot see shared files between them or on the base computer. Also the laptops cannot print to the printer which is hard wired to the base computer even though it can read the printer. This worked fine before the E4200 was installed. Your Customer service rep on the phone directed me to run tests and everything passed. She said it’s a file sharing problem not a Cisco problem and told me I had to pay Microsoft to solve the problem. She also thought the OS was reading the old router and there may be a problem there. She said she is not trained to solve these problems. Well if it worked before with the WRT1509N isn’t a Cisco problem?
Does anyone have a solution to this?
    Please, please help.
    Frank

Do any experts know the reason of this problem?  Thanks!

  • Deaktop can't see Laptop folders

My WRT 150N works fine. Internet connection fine. My laptop can see my PC and all folders, etc., but my Desktop PC does not see my Laptop in the "My Computer" screen or in the "My Network Places" area. Linksys advisor does not show any problems either. Any suggestions welcome. Thank You.

Make sure all computers are using the same "Workgroup" name.
In each of your computers, go into the computer's software firewall, and make sure that all other computers on your network are listed as "trusted".  In most firewalls, "trust" is based on MAC address or LAN IP address.
    Hope this helps.
