[help] yelp causes cpu 100% load

When I run yelp, cpu runs 100%. No other message is printed. Thanks for help

I have the same problem. I searched the gnome bugzilla for yelp, but I didn't see any reports of high cpu usage.

Windows Server 2012R2 - svchost.exe 60-100% load!

We are using RDS collection with two Windows Server 2012R2 session hosts. Both hosts are virtual servers (clean installation) and are used as session hosts (terminals) with 10 to 25 users each. RDS Connection Broker is also virtual machine with Windows
Server 2012 R2. Our users are using Windows 7 Embedded thin clients with MSTSC RDP 8.0.
There is problem with high cpu load on these servers. Sometimes Svchost.exe starts to cause 60-100% load. Our virtual machines have 10 virtual processor cores. Load is caused by LSM (Local Session Manager) Service from DCOM Launcher group. Svchost
creates many thread as you can see on picture attached. Sometimes this load disappears after 12-24 hours, sometimes it needs restarting whole server.
We still cannot find cause of this problem, although we managed to reproduce this issue one time by logging two admin accounts to server console and force disconnecting one of these accounts by third admin account connecting to server console by RDP
mstsc.exe with -admin parameter.
Our users are very unsatisfied :-(

Do you have any recent updates, might happens due to automatic updates which also can cause high cpu through svchost.exe. Please check as suggested by “Larry” by turning off Windows update service. In addition go through beneath articles for more information.

Putting ActiveX(packager) in CTabCtrl will cause CPU increase up to 100%, and the whole system hangs.(When the test application loses its focus).

Hi, i have a HP ENVY 15-j171nr and evrytime i run a cpu intensive program where it puts the cpu to 100% load, My cpu temperature jumps to 99 degrees celsius and stays there. Is this normal? of could i have a bad heat sink? Intel rates the CPU (i7-4700k) to 100 degrees celsius.

Root cause for 100 % disk utilization

Hi All,
Whenever in one of the dailog instance disk utilization is showing 100% sap system is getting very slow,what is the root cause for 100% utilization .At that moment of time when I checked the CPU usage it showed 98% CPU idle. server is on Windows NT and around 13GB of RAM is always free.
We have only one drive in the apps server.Can this be the cause of 100% disk utilization?

as described above, one thing that cause 100% disk utilization is that writer processes (and read process too) is concentrated only on a single disk (equivalent to single volume group or single logical volume).
we can imagine that a large number of user hitting the single disk (where datafiles exist) on the same time with a huge transaction load.
if we can manage writable datafiles in several locations (equivalent to several volume groups or several logical volumes) where several datafiles exist, writer processes (and read process too) will be distributed to that several locations, so that each location (each disk, each VG or each LV) utilization may not reach 100%.
so it is important to design writable datafiles in multiple location in different disks to prevent 100% disk utilization.
one thing should be remember is to consult with hardware and storage vendor if there is any possibilities bottleneck or I/O issue on your hardware or storage.

GHC always seems to freeze with 100% load.

I just installed Arch Linux on my desktop computer. After following the steps detailed in the beginner's guide, I proceeded to install the nvidia package, zsh, x11 and xmonad.
During the installation of xmonad, pacman seemed to stop after installing the first package with "haskell" in its name was completely installed. When I sent it to the background, top showed a process of "ghc-pkg" eating 100%CPU and about 6G RAM.
I waited for maybe 5 minutes for this process to complete, and since it failed to do so, killed it. This caused pacman to install ne next "haskell-.." package, freezing again after this one, again with one process of "ghc-pkg" at 100% load.
When I killed every process of either "ghc-pkg" and "haddock" that appeared in top, I got pacman to finish the installation, but the same problem prevents using it. Calling ghc or ghci causes this program to load out the CPU and consume increasing amounts of RAM, without getiing any output from them.
What could be my problem here?

P.S.: I don't know if that's related, but "htop" always segfaults as soon as its started (before any output). I am pretty sure I have no hardware problem, though, since the parallel Windows 8 installation has been rock-solid forever.

I'm fairly certain your problem is related to "Journaling" being enabled on the Mac's system drive. Is your drive working during the 30 second pause?

You have to live with the delays unless you want to disable the feature.
I've had journaling off on all drives over the past year and suffered no ill effects.

Space designer causing cpu spike overload

Hope you guys can help with this, it's beginning to annoy me. I'm currently unable to use space designer reliably. I had this problem in Logic 8 and it's still happening in 9. I have one instance of SD in my current project and it's causing cpu spikes that are giving me errors. The funny thing is that the error happens just after a region that is being sent to the reverb has ended. the cpu meter then gradually rises until the error stops playback. If I turn SD off i don't get these problems or if I disable SD via automation when it's not needed it seems ok also. What the **** is this about? The thing is I really like the sound of SD and miss it when I have to use different reverbs. Anyone else having these issues? I read on another thread that setting all your inputs to "no input" helps but for me it doesn't. What else can I try?

Just to clarify, I am getting the spike once the audio data stops sending through the SD plugin (whilst the song is still playing). So, for example I may send a 10 second bit of audio through the plug - this works fine. Then once the audio stops sending and the reverb trail finishes....I then get the CPU going mad - and yet there is complete silence within the song - there is nothing else playing!
This has got to be a bug or conflict of some kind - my computer spec is massive and should be able to cope with a stereo bit of audio through one plugin! (Hope this makes sense.)
There have been a couple of posts similar but no answers as yet...
Wondering whether it is a conflict with UAD plugins or something which limits the reproduction of this bug...I have noticed that if I remove all UAD plugins from the channel strip in question, the error tends not to reappear - but the issue is unique to the SD plugin.

CPU 100% When Playing Minecraft iMac

Hi There!
As the title says, "CPU 100% When Playing Minecraft". Every time I boot up Minecraft the Fan becomes loud. I have another iMac (Late 2013) Model and it runs Minecraft fine with all the same settings. So I don't really no what to do. But if you could help me try to get the CPU usage down or maybe turn the fan down? Or something like that that would be great!!

Firefox 3.6.6 Windows XP - often goes to 80-100% CPU even with only one tab open (in this case the one I'm writing this message on). When this happens the only cure is to kill it with task manager and start again.

Late 2011 MBP wont charge under cpu/gpu load

As soon as I start live streaming with Wirecast, my laptop starts discharging from the battery. As soon as I stop broadcasting, it immediately starts charing again. From what I've read already, this is possible due to a power adapter that is too small to handle the CPU/GPU load. Is there a fix for this? This is absolutely rediculous! I spend nearly $3,000.00 on this machine for the purpose of live streaming and it can't handle it?!?!?! Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

When I update to the latest version I cannot access the add-ons page or request help because neither page will load. My Weather channel add-on was NOT piced up when updating to the latest version. Why problems with improved latest version?

I have twice downloaded the latest version in the last month. Each time I encountered the same problems. the Weather Channel add-on I have did NOT appear in the latest version. When I tried to access the Add-Ons page under the Tools header it would not load. When I tried to contact Mozilla from the Help header it would not load
When I open a web page from Bookmarks it is painfully slow to load.
This is NOT an improved version. I have been using Firefox for years without problems; I prefer it to Internet Explorer. However the latest 'improved' version may change my mind.

The problem is that the Add-ons Manager tab when opened the first time, is on "Get Add-ons" section and that must be downloaded from the Add-ons server which might be overburdened.

При добавлении или уменьшении гровкости, а так же яркости экрана с помощью кнорки Fn +нужная стрелочка вылазит сообщение. В заголовке написано "Energy Managment", сообщение внутри окна"CPU 100%" и кнопка "OK". Посмотрев по диспетчеру задач процессор не загружается на 100 процентов, а просто выскакивает окно. I have S10-2 with Windows 7 Home edition. Problem is when I have open 2 or three windows explorer and maybe 2 google chrome windows CPU goes to 100%. Is there some controller problem or something else. Same problem if I copy some files from USB removable disk to my local disk and open internet explorer. Again CPU 100%

... USB to HDD transfer is indeed a huge process for our Intel N270/945 combo ...
where a C2D have enough power ... our N270/945 comes to sweat ... if you get him more tasks, while usb transfer to hdd, so give them a bit time
.. its a netbook not a subnote or note .... some times we forgot this..
because all other things is nearly managed with same performance with this small device ...
