HELP..Yoga 13..deleted factory installed software that controls apps

Hi.r
I just got a new Yoga 13, and in my zeal to clean my computer I removed (via Revo Uninstaller) a piece of factory-installed software (app?) that appears to control the other apps, as now I cannot open many of my apps.  It sounded like bloatware to me, but I guess it wasn't.
I forget the name of it, but I think it had "Lenovo" and "app' or "apps" in the title (??) and it didn't uninstall until I rebooted my computer.  Dumb, I know.  I walk a thin line between clever and stupid.
Can somebody please tell me what this software is called, and how (if possible) can I download or recover it without doing an entire system restore to original factory settings?
Thanks.

hi protagonist,
Thanks for posting!
You can tell us what are the Applications that you cannot open after you remove some applications,
also on your computer's Reference Manual it has few Applications listed that could have came together with your computer.
Spoiler (Highlight to read)
You can also visit the download site for yoga 13 here
Hope this helps,
Cheers!

  • NOT SHOWING FACTORY INSTALLED SOFTWARES IN " RECOVERY MANAGER "

I'VE TRIED TO REINSTALL SOME SOFTWARE PROGMS BY USING  " RECOVERY MANAGER ".
BUT I DIDNT FIND ANY FACTORY INSTALLED SOFTWARE PROGRAMS.
    PLZ ASSIST ME.
I WILL BE WAITING FOR UR KIND REPLY.
    THANK U SO MUCH.

That is odd - that is, as long as the integrity of the Recovery Manager is intact, I would expect it to work.
    For example,
If you have reinstalled the system using other than the Recovery Manager,
or if you have upgraded the Operating System,
or added / Removed data from the Recovery Partition,
OR if the Recovery Manager is corrupted in some way,
    then
the Recovery Manager will either not work at all, or may at least show inconsistancies.

You might try using a Restore Point to "go back in time" and see if the setting can recover.
Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)
HP PCs - Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows 8)
You can go to your system's website for the current Drivers and Software that are available for your computer.
First, create a place to which you can return in case things do not work as you hope:
    Create a restore point
Install Software and Drivers from HP Website
Go to the top of the HP forum page to Support and Drivers
If prompted, Enter your Country or Region and
    Enter your Computer Model information,
    Go to Software and Drivers...
Enter your Operating System in the Drop-down menu...  Scroll down
Select desired Category Software – Solutions >> Driver - Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices
NOTE:  Download ONLY the relevant drivers and software for YOUR hardware - note that in the website you might find more than one kind of driver for more than one model of computer -- this is normal, but it does not mean YOUR computer uses all the software offered.
Expand and decide if you need to install that package.
Assure that you download and install only the most recent versions of each driver or program.
Save the appropriate *.exe installation package on your computer
NOTE the name and the location - the *.exe file will likely save to "Downloads “
Install the Software / Driver installation package:  If you have ‘Admin’ control, you may highlight the package(s) and “double-click” to install, else Right-Click, Select ‘run as Administrator’ and install.
NOTE:  There is sometimes a lot of information at the computer’s website.  Take a look at what’s available and bookmark the page for later reference.

  • How do I re-install software that came pre-installed on my mac?

How do I re-install software that came pre-installed on my mac?
I bought my first mac in 2003, in 2004 I bought MS Office: Mac. In 2006 I got another mac, this one (I'm pretty sure but not 100% certain) came with MS Office pre-installed. I'm still using that computer I got in 2006 (writing this message on it right now) and have been having problems with Word and have had no luck with trying to fix it. I recently came across my original installation disk for the version of MS Office I got in 2004. So, when I became frustrated trying to fix Word I just grabbed this old installer and reinstalled office, assuming in that moment that it was the same version I had been using. I got it all installed and working and went to load up my most recent document that I've ben working on and it won't load because it's a docx file. I don't know where else I would have gotten a new version of word, I'm not one for unnecessary updates and updating a word processor is about as unnecessary as it gets. I MUST have had a newer version of word pre-installed on my computer, because any time I've ever tried to open word files from this computer on my older mac the files wouldn't work, so any time I need to do that I either make a PDF or email myself the text.
Anyway, I'm assuming that apple has all my registration info on file and can confirm that I bought the software, can they provide my an installer? My other concern is that this computer was a christmas gift and was purchased by my dad, though I don't know whose name is on any kind of registration that may exist. The problem here is that he died, so I'm concerned that apple won't support my product because the original "owner" is deceased, even though I don't think he ever so much as laid a finger on this computer or even looked at it more than twice after he gave it to me.
What is my best course of action here?

I would have to presume the 2006 Mac was used, and came with Office 2008 on it from the seller. Apple has never offered Office as a bundled purchase, and it is not pre-installed with any Mac.
Since you have the disk for Office 2004, the activation key should be on a sticker on the CD/DVD sleeve. As I recall, anyway. I no longer have my 2004 copy to check. If you have the key, it doesn't matter who it originally belonged to. You can still enter it and activate the software.
Once you have that installed, you can install the XML converter for Office 2004. That will allow you to open from all newer Windows and Mac versions of Office. The only things that won't necessarily convert are features that don't exist in Office 2004, and so can't be translated correctly, or at all.
Microsoft is saying Office 2016 for Mac and Windows should be available for the official release sometime either late summer, or early fall. So hold off purchasing a new version if you can. MS offers to reduced upgrade price for Office. You'd pay full price for Office 2011, and then again for Office 2016.
And just to note. Office 2008 and Office 2011 work fine in Snow Leopard.

Which language is better to develop the software that controls the Tektronix-Sony 370A Curve tracer and how to approach it. I a a fresher in this field. Please any one help us developing the software.

If you're looking to develop a driver for the instrument, one already exists and can be download here or you can get it off of the driver disk that comes with LabVIEW. If you're asking for the best language in which to write an application program that uses the driver, the obviously the answer is going to be LabVIEW. Note that you might get a different answer if you post the question to a Visual Basic or C++ forum but those answers would be wrong.

My imac running OS 10.6.8, and want to install Garmin software that needs OS10.7.
The latest upgrade Maverick requires a MAC dated 2007 or later. Where is the date... It is NOT in "About this Mac".
I feel an older upgrade than Maverick might be better for my machine?
Is it possible to upgrade to ie, 10,7? or another recommended upgrade.
    How to proceed?

Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99.
If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.
    A. Upgrading to Mountain Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mountain Lion or Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion or Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion — System Requirements
         OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
    B. Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • Installing software that was originally on a floppy

I have some older software that i would like to install on my iMac G5 (to use in Classic mode). It is on a floppy. I figure I can email the disk contents to myself, but I seem to remember that you have to make some sort of disk image for the installer to work. I think i tried some time ago to do that, but it wasn't successful. I probably am not doing it right. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi, lindsey.
If you have a floppy drive — and it sounds like you do — then you could try simply installing the software from the floppy disk. See "Mac OS X 10.4 Help: Installing applications made for Mac OS 9."
Floppy drives are notoriously slow under Mac OS X, but the instructions above should work. Note that applications made for Mac OS 8.x, or those that require direct access to the hardware, such as games designed for Mac OS 9 and earlier, may not work in Classic, meaning you may also be unable to install them.
If you don't have a floppy drive, a generic USB floppy drive can be purchased cheaply at any computer store, e.g. CompUSA, Fry's Electronics, etc. My wife has a Targus model PA905 external USB floppy drive that works quite nicely both with our Macs and her work-provided Dell laptop running Windows.
    Good luck!

  • Install software that came with the BT MM?

    Hi,
Just got my Bluetooth Mighty Mouuse. Should I install the software that came with it?
Is there any benefit or added functionality in doing so?
I have a new 20-in Intel Core 2 Duo iMac.
    Thanks...

You'll need the software installed to configure fully the MM's buttons via the Keyboard & Mouse preferences pane (and also view the battery status). On our Mac Pro it was preinstalled, but on our Mini it wasn't. I'm not sure what the default is on the new iMacs.

  • How to return original factory installed software

I just purchased Curves and did the device switch via Desktop Manager without backing up the Curves from old BB to new BB. I really meant to do the synchronizing. Is there a way to remove everything I did and put back the original software, so I can synchronize from old BB to new BB?

This will restore all the original factory default after I run this?
Yes, sort of. It is not a "factory default" specifically but close enough. It will do just what I stated, and all of your personal data will be removed.
Then you will want to do a backup of the old device, and THEN on the new device > Restore > Advanced and select only those databases you want to restore to the new.
I can understand doing the backup of the old device, but I do not understand what am I restoring in new device? Is it the data from old device?
Yes, IF you want the data from the OLD device on the NEW device, that is what it will do.
After running these, then I can synchronize the data from old device to new device, am I correct?
You're confusing terminology. You won't be "syncing" data from the old device to the new device, you will be restoring data FROM the old device TO the new device if you follow my advice.
Maybe I don't know what specifically it is you are attempting to do. Why don't you restate it here so that it is clear?

  • I would like to know how I might find the OSX 10.9 Install file that the app store put on my hard drive.  Any help is greatly appreciated in advance.

The app store download is so slow at my house that I don't want to do it more than once and I don't see the file anywhere, even looked for hidden files.  But Directory structure is dense and I surely haven't looked everywhere yet.
I would like to archive it on media that is physically independent of my mac.
Any help is greatly appreciated in advance.

You can make a bootable USB stick to install using this free program.

  • Can't install software that came with new Canon A540 digital camera

The installation process gets as far as "preparing to install imagebrowser" then hangs up the whole computer until I force quit. When I force quit, I see the installer plus a "master installer" in red that says it is not responding. I really would like to install the imagebrowser and photostitch. I know I can download the photos into iphoto, but iphoto does not allow selective downloads, nor does it stitch the photos, as far as I can tell.
Also, how can I prepare a slide show and add voice narration?
    I'm using 10.4.7

you need to install it via a superdrive.  If you have the original one that came with the mac, you can purchase an external case to put it in and then plug it into the usb port.  You can not download the software anywhere.  Only do what I first suggested or repurchase it.

  • How to install software that does not show in add\remove?

I have a agent that i need to install on all our computers but the program does not show in add\remove when installed correctly.
It does however have a service that runs and some processes that run.
Can someone tell me what the best way of installing this is?
Should I create a collection based of the Service\Process or even based of the file sitting in C:\Program Files.
I wanted to create a collection of computers that had the software already then create another collection that had all computers with it missing and create a advertisement from this..
I am just not sure how to do this one when it does not show in add\remove

Please create the new SCCM query based collection for computers which have required software installed. We can create this collection based on service.
For example :Below SCCM query will add the computers which firewall service is in disabled mode.
    select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name,SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from SMS_R_System inner join SMS_G_System_SERVICE on SMS_G_System_SERVICE.ResourceId =
SMS_R_System.ResourceId where SMS_G_System_SERVICE.Name like "MpsSvc" and SMS_G_System_SERVICE.StartMode like "Disabled"
Create another collection for computers which have software not installed and add the below query for the collection. Replace the "CollectionID" with collectionID of first collection.
select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name,SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from SMS_R_System where ResourceID not in (select ResourceID from SMS_FullCollectionMembership
    where CollectionID = "CollectionID")

  • How do I install software that is from my old windows laptop?

Apple Core 2 Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Hi Frances
If it's Windows-only software, then you won't be able to install it on Mac OS X directly.
However, what you can do is to install Windows on your Macbook as a swappable alternative to Mac OS X, and install your Windows software there. There are currently two recommended ways to do this:
    - Apple's Boot Camp
    - Parallels Desktop
With Boot Camp, when you reboot your computer, you can choose to use either the Mac or the Windows installation on your system. With Parallels, you can run Windows applications at the same time as your Mac applications.
Both require that you buy and install a copy of Windows XP on the Macbook.

Ridius is right, you can't delete some apps.  However, I did find a way to delete Facebook and Kindle.  First, open the apps.  It should take you to the App Catalog.  Install the apps.  Then, follow Ridius's instructions to delete them.
