Help yosemite not loading on my IMac

i have a 2011 IMac running 10.9.5 OS X.
when trying to download Yosemite it simply gets stuck at the downloading stage with times ranging from 4 days to 1 day 19 min but never progressing

Thanks William... That has certainly helped with diagnosis. Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to adjust any of those settings within my belkin router.
Switching the firewall off in the router does allows Google Maps (and Google images that I was also having issues with) to load in both browsers and other applications. I'm a little reluctant to do this however as it doesn't really seem like a sensible 'fix'?

  • Bug - Flash CS6 Help does not load

Fresh install of WIndows 7 (32-bit). Fresh install of Flash CS6 trial. Click Help > Flash Help and nothing happens. Help does not load. Browser never opens. Nothing happens. Same with Help > Flash Support Center. Also installed Photoshop CS6 trial and that Help system does load (opens browser to online help page). Flash CS6 Help is completely dead. Anyone else experiencing this? Or better yet - how to fix it?

    Hi Lorenzo,
What locale are you trying to install Flash Pro CS6 (and hence, the Help update) on?
Also, could you please send us your error log?
Depending on your platform, it is found at the following locations:
    Win: Program Files\Common files\Adobe\Installers or \Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\ApplicationData\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0\
    Mac: /Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers or ~/ Library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe/AAMUpdater/1.0/

  • Google Maps not loading on my iMac

I can't get Google Maps to load on my iMac. Whenever I go to a web page that uses Google maps (i.e. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/29817682), the outline of the map loads and the scale, route etc. but the actual background map or satellite image doesn't load, it just sites there with a grey background and the status shows 'connecting to mt1.google.com'
The number on the 'mt1.google.com' may be different as sometimes it is mt0.google.com, but it would seems as though my iMac can't connect to the Google servers.
This happens in both Safari and Firefox and also any third party apps that use Google Maps.
I thought it must have been an issue with my ISP or router, but I have a couple of PC's that connect to the internet through the same router on the same internet connection. These can all connect to Google Maps OK so it doesn't appear to be an issue with the ISP or the router, it is just my iMac that has this problem.
Any ideas how to fix it? It does very occasionally manage to download the maps after about 10 minutes of trying but more often than not it doesn't.
    Thanks,
    Alan.

Most likely, the OCI libraries could not be loaded.
Before continuing down this path, is there any reason
why you want to use an OCI based Driver as opposed to the
all Java Oracle thin driver ?There is indeed a valid reason for my choice.
I am currently connecting to the Oracle "Rdb" 7.0 database (located on
    VMS) - not Oracle Oracle.
The SQL Service software we're currently using is version 7.1. This
version works well with the OCI8 driver (when connecting to the
database from Windows NT). This version of SQL Service however does
NOT work for the THIN driver (unless we upgrade the SQL Service to
version 7.1.5.5 - which we're not prepared to do so because it is not
stable enough from our previous test/trials). SQLSRV Version 7.1.5.5
works for THIN driver but it will result in uncommitted
transactions/unresolved connection/stopping of listener issues and
there is a need to restart the service from time to time. Oracle has
since confirmed that this is a bug that they have yet to resolve...
So we have to stick to OCI8 (THICK) for the time being. I would really
appreciate it very much if you can tell me the various OCI libraries
that I need to load (in terms of WebLogic Server config file settings
    etc..).
By the way I have already installed the Oracle 8 client software on
the NT server (where WebLogic Server is) and I have also set up the
relevant SID (using the Net8 Assistant) that points to the Oracle Rdb
database on the VMS. I have also tried using SQL*Plus to connect to
the database and I can connect properly to the database. But WebLogic
simply doesn't seem to load the software.
    Help...

  • Some webpages not loading on new imac

I just bought one of the new Imac's at my local Apple store. I am overall very happy with it, but found that I can not load some web pages. Mainly msnbc.com and apple.com.
    Facts:
    **All Updates have been installed.
**This happens both when using the Airport or directly
**I am using ATT DSL, not Cable modem
**On Apple.com it displays most graphics but will not display the gray bar at the top of the screen. It's almost as if when it can't display the gray bar it decided to list the links vertically at the top left hand corner of the screen. No pages off of apple.com have EVER loaded.
**These web pages load of my other networked computers at home.
**Did a complete Erase and reinstall of the OS. Same problem.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having a problem loading some pages on my Mac
Book Pro using Firefox and Safari. It's very
    disappointing because my favorite page,
www.engadget.com won't load. Is there something I can
do to get these pages to load again?????
An interesting question. Here's what happens when you load
    a web page:
    1) Your browser assembles and sends an http request.
    2) An http daemon receives the request and hands it off to
    a child for processing.
    3) The child assembles the web page and sends an http
    resonse.
    4) Your browser receives the response and formats the page.
I think you're assuming the problem is between steps 3 and 4,
but are you sure? Perhaps it's as simple as emptying the cache.
At any rate, there should be more information somewhere which
will tell you where the problem is. Check the activity log in
Safari. Or is it timing out? We need more information to
    determine where the problem lies.

  • Purchased keynote not load onto my iMac?

purchased keynote from app store but it will not load onto my computer.  easily loaded onto ipad.
    Any ideas?

In iTunes open the store and on the front page right hand side there is a purchased section, re-download the files from there. You may have to authorise the computer if there are problems, in the menu bar of iTunes under store.
You have 90 days of telephone support or if you purchased Apple care 3 years, if you still have problems give Apple a call.

  • Help is not working on my imac

I have upgraded to Mavericks and for some reason the help menu no longer works. How do I get it back?

You may be able to solve the problem by deleting the Help cache.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.helpd
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder selected. Move the selected folder to the Trash. Log out, log back in, and test. Help pages will be slow to load at first.
If that doesn't work, the problem may be caused by network conditions. It may go away by itself, though I can't say how long you should wait.
A persistent failure to load help data has been reported as an issue with certain ISP's, such as the Exede satellite network. Test on a different network, if possible. I've also seen at least one report that Photo Stream in iCloud can mysteriously interfere with Help. I'm not sure whether that's true, but try disabling Photo Stream, if applicable.*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • Please help - Images not loading in Safari

I've been a Mac user for about 7 years now, and I'm stumped. Literally overnight Safari started acting up... and now no images on webpages will load. The pages load fast per usual, and all the text is there. Other than the images not appearing everything else appears normal. I've run Cocktail, done system checks, ran Tech Tool - pretty much everything i can think of without calling Apple Care. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be and how I can fix it?
Thanks very much for your time and help! I really appreciate it, and would love to get this solved - it's driving me nuts!

Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select

from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder selected.

  • Cd will not load into my iMac.

I can't get a CD or a DVD to load into my Intel iMac.  Any ideas anybody?

If you mean you can't get any CD or DVD to insert into the machine all the way, that probably means a Superdrive hardware failure.  If you are under AppleCare I would take it in for free diagnosis and repair.  If you have no warranty left I would suggest saving a lot of money by buying an external USB CD/DVD writer for about $30 US and using that.
    Hope this helps

  • ICloud will not load on my iMac?

    Hi all,
I have an older iMac (20 inch, mid-2007) that has been loading iCloud in my system preferences for months.  Literally.  Just kind of spins away in the background.  The only way I can shut it off is to force quit System Preferences, but because it won't actually load, I cannot access anything else in my system preferences folders.
    What I've tried:
    - Making sure all of my software is up to date.
    - Making sure my iCloud information is verified and up to date.
    - Restarting/Shutting down old Bessy here.
    - Searching for solutions elsewhere.
Any ideas on what I could do to coax my computer into finishing this process?  It's been this way since Maverick has come out.  If someone could gently walk me and my elderly iMac through the steps, we would be very appreciative!
    Thanks!
PS-- Be gentle.  While we do speak Geek, we don't speak Geek Squad!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    You might try the following.
    1. Force quit system preferences
    5. Open your User Library folder in the Finder. (When in the Finder, go to the Go menu, hold down the option key (alt) and choose Library when it appears in the Go menu)
    6. Navigate to Library > Application Support > iCloud and drag the iCloud folder to your desktop. (This action only copies the folder and will provide you with a back up)
    7. Select the iCloud folder again in Library > Application Support and drag it to the trash, enter your administrators password when prompted.
    8. Restart your computer.
    9. You should now be able to enter your ID and Password in system Preferences > iCloud and log into your account. Check the services you wish to use and once you are satisfied it's working as it should, trash the iCloud folder you copied to your desktop earlier.

  • Help OS not loading

    Hi,
I have reset my password by discharging cell, now when mac loads, It halts and began to display color patterns... What to do?????????

Ah… I asked whether you got a normal picture with wrong colours, or a wholly strange lot of colour patterns and nothing else, or what because it might make all the difference…
Can we guess that "sometimes strange color patterns started to take hole screen…" means there were no recognisable words or icons, or what please?
Is there nothing intelligable at all, at any stage?
When the Mac doesn't detect the CD, did you try starting with the "C" key held down?
Resetting the password should not cause any problems, but why did you want to reset the password in the first place, please?
Was the Mac booting normally before, or what?
Which cell did you discharge and how
