Help.. Zen MicroPh

Hi everyone.. i just got my zen microphoto yesterday..but it cant seem to connect to my comuter. Whenever i open the Media Explorer, a message "The device is not connected. Please connect your zen microphoto to the computer". Is it because my unit is not charged to it's maximum?
When i connect the unit to the usb port, it starts charging, but it does not have a pop up that say new dvice detected. Also my creative mediasource organiser cannot seem to work.
Can anyone help me? i already tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything...

From the Nomadness FAQs, linked from this board's FAQs, an item on connection problems that applies to your situation:
"In Device Manager with the Zen connected delete it from the device listing. Physically disconnect the Zen from the USB cable, reset it, then reconnect to the PC to see if it is detected properly."
If that doesn't work, read the FAQs and try the other things listed there and in the Nomadness FAQs.

plugged into any usb ports, doesn't help. On other computers fine, I have a 3 year old Dell computer with windows xp on it. Does anyone know what I should do ? Creative? helpdesk seems to be only in Ireland. The number?they give on their website?does not make any sence, mails are not replyed.... Tanx

Be sure you have XP with at least service pack and Windows Media Player 0 installed. Also, did you receive an automated reply back from Customer Support after you send in your enquiry? If you didn't receive that then it's very likely support didn't receive your email and it's best to send it again. If you did receive it, you may need to reply back that email and let them know you still need further assistance.

I need help with the zen microph

does anyone know how to return the wallpaper back to the original way it came, i changed the wallpaper but dont like it, so how do i get the original one back?

When you are at the screen you come to when you turn it on (the now playing screen) hit the back arrow. Then select photos. Look in the 'nature' folder. Select the picture. Then hit the button horizontal of the back button. Then select set as wallpaper. Hope this helps!

I bought a new zen microphoto 2 days ago.. It only goes to the "creative" screen and now it doesn't workI tried taking the battery out although this does not work either. It does not load up farther than the "Creative" Screen.

If you are using the USB cable for charging, just leave your player connected to your computer (make sure it is not on sleep/hybernate mode) for a couple of hours and try to power it on. If you have a wall charger, much better. Charge the player for about 3-4 hours and do a reset while connected. See if that hel

I recently bought a Zen Stone but I cannot get my PC to recognize it. Everytime it is plugged in I get taken to the "Found New Hardware Wizard" and it cannot find a driver. I have gone through all the help and none of the proposed solutions makes any difference. The Stone charges fine, but I cannot access it: in Device Manager it appears in Other Devices and does not appear in My Computer. The Safely Remove Hardware icon appears in the tray but when I right-click on it, nothing happens. The same thing is also happening with my older Zen Nano Plus which I am sure was recognized a couple of months ago. Both the Stone and the Nano PLus play music and I tried the Stone on a friends computer and her Windows XP recognised it fine. I am running Windows XP with Service Pack 2 and I automatically do all the recommended Windows Updates. Things I have tried: * Unplugging all other USB devices * Using USBs at back of computer * Using a paper clip to reset the Stone * Changing the Power Management options for USB as advised on Creative Media website * Updating my chipset device drivers * In Other Devices trying to reinstall drivers * Downloading new drivers and other software for my Zen Nano * In the BIOS switching off USB 2.0 * Rolling back from Windows Media to 0, removing Microsoft User-Mode Driver Frameworks Feature Pack .0, and downloading "Update for DRM - enabled Media Players (KB8922)" * Downlaoding Iomega patch * Running msconfig to remove all startup and Service files apart from Microsoft to ensure there is no conflict with other loaded software (still didn't work) Something has defintely changed in my computer to stop Zen from working and yet the USB ports work fine with my digital camera, printer, keyboard and mouse. Hi, Quick update, have also gone through everything in http://forums.creative.com/creativel...cending&page=3 and tried downloading the Fixup but with no success. Made the major mistake of following advice to delete USB controllers and ended up with no USB ports working (not good since my keyboard and mouse use USB). Had to do system restore to get back to square one. I have contacted Creative support several times and tried everything they suggested and they have tole me that there is nothing else I can try. Can find nothing else to try and with so many people experiencing the same problem with the Creative Zen's, I have come to the conclusion that the Zen is not compatible with many people's XP and only wish I had known all this before I bought it. If anyone has any other ideas I can try, please let me know, otherwise I will have to send my new Zen Stone back to Amazon as completely unusable. Goodness knows how anyone who doesn't know their way around a computer is ever supposed to get one working. I am really disappointed with Creative about this. Anyone recommend a good MP3 player make that actually works in Windows XP Regards Stephanie.

Updated to usb 2.0, having issues with the zen microph

basically, put a new usb 2.0 card thing in my computer and when i plug my zen microphoto to it i get a message saying that i need to install the drivers for it, which i can't find online and don't have the cd for anymore.
My Zen Nano Plus works fine on it and i didnt have to do anything, any ideas what i can do?

I had the issue and read almost every blog on the net in order to fix it.
RESTORE the iPhone as a NEW phone, and the issue will be resolved.
I read that pictures on the phone itself can also be a cause of the issue so deleted all of the pictures off of my computers before restoring the phone also. (not much of a pic guy)

Problem with Zen Microph

Hi all...
I have just bought a Zen Microphoto and have installed everything on the CD, but when I connect it to my computer, it can't find a driver for it - even though the CD still is in the dri've...
I have also been trying to charge the battery, but when I connect it to the PC with the USB Cable, then the light starts flashing over the battery on the display.. After 3 hours it doesn't seem like it have moved... Should the microphoto be turned on or off when charging?

I'm having the EXACT same problem. I've looked through all the forums and nothing seems to help. I'm getting severely pissed off and this is fricking ridiculous.

TV shows and podcast for Zen microph

My son had to get the Zen microphoto. He couldn't be like my girls and get the apple photo. He claims Zen is so much better. How /where do I go to get tv shows and 'video' podcast for the microphoto The girls have tons in their itunes account. I guess I can't drag the tv shows out of itunes and into zen? There has to be a way to get video on this thing, after all it has a beautiful screen which I hope can be used for more than looking at song titles.

The Zen MicroPhoto does not support video playback. The only players that do are the Zen Vision and Zen Vision:M.
As for podcasts, goto www.zencast.com and download ZenCast. You can transfer audio podcasts to the player this way.

Firmware & connectivity problem in ZEN MicroPh

I really need some help...i bought yesterday a zen microphoto and i spent a lot of ours to configure it but i failed.Some months ago i had i zen micro so i'm not completely irrelevant with the subject.My Zen micro worked fine.But zen microPhoto does not!My computer recognizes it as a removable dri've but not as Zen player.Windows also recognizes it as a MTP player,but when i choose to organize it with media source,it says to connect my player even if is connected. I've tried to fix it in many ways:install-uninstall the device and the drivers,restart again and again my pc,put in and out the battery but nothing. Then i thought to get it in recovery mode and choose the 'reload firmware' option.(Maybe it was a wrong choice,but i could'n find anything else to do). The firmware was deleted and when i tried to run the new one,the window of the 'Plays for sure firmware update' prompted my to connect the player with my PC(even if it was recognized by windows).Now i have a useless zen device without a firmware.What can i do?Try another PC maybe?

p.s. When i had the Zen micro,i didn't have these kind of problems.When i was connecting it,media source automatically recognized it and prompted my to organised it. I had no prompt from Windows for MTP player etc.

maybe i did the same thing i don't know..... i never ever got my damm microphoto to connect to my computer so a friend let me borrow her laptop, and?i took the advantage of ripping a large part of my cd collection onto my zen... awesome?so i was deleting some of the photos that come with it, when it froze... i took the battery out, and put it back in.... and waited for the library to rebuild.... now the screen says "select music to play from music library"... but there are absolutely no songs or albums, in my zen now wtf? no pictures either.... i go into system information and it says that there's "85MB free space"... so my songs are still in here and not deleted.... and now i keep connecting it to the usb, and the media explorer says "device not connected".... arrgghh i'm getting so frustrated someone help me please what happened? i've just about had it with this piece of junk so many problems with it from day one... i don't know why i didn't return it when i had the chance.....

I have a problem. Yesterday, I received my Zen Microphoto. I install all the software (only acrobat). But when I plug the player in the PC and I click on Zen Microphoto Media Explorer, it says that the player isn't connected. Why? What can I do?

Read this FAQ.
Make sure you have Windows XP Service Pack or 2 and Windows Media Player 0 installed. Download the 3 hotfixes listed, and also follow the other steps to get it working.

All music files completely corrupted on zen microph

Hey there,?Maybe some out there can help me and a friend. I have had a reg 5GB zen micro for 3 yrs now. worked fine for the most part, and when it didnt i was able to replace it relati'vely easily. now me and my friend both got brand new zen microphoto as a gift. mine works perfectly fine. my friend wasnt as lucky. it worked for a few days but then suddenly all of his songs would play completely off. in other words, it would play the song but the words weren't synched with the instruments and it plays the whole thing at weird speeds. totally not bearable. we've tried different headphones, no help. the songs all play fine on the computer. we tried reformatting the player, we tried the clean up, i tried reloading the firmware, no help at all. has this happened to anyone before? its extremely weird and frustrating. any help at all would be appreciated. thanks in advance,?Raphi

So it's connected to the new update? Jeez. Because it just happened out of the blue yesterday and the iTunes/iPod update was done back when it came out. (Thank goodness I didn't get around to updating the other one yet. I'll definitely be holding off now.)
For the moment, we (my boyfriend and I; it's his iPod that had the loss) had to restore to factory settings. After the data loss, it wouldn't update. Thing is, I think he re-installed the new version again and then began putting songs back in it.
I know last night it had accepted songs and played without problem, but...if it's a software issue and given it already failed once without warning, I'm of course worried it'll happen again.
I'll try to read through the topics back in September. Doing a websearch for this really didn't net me a lot. Which is why I thought it might be a fluke thing rather then a software thing.
I'm just trying to keep from having to go through this again. Poor guy, he had 18 gigs of music on there. A lot of it rare and odd things that he didn't have back-ups of, you know? He loves his iPod and this is just crushing. I'd like to learn the whys and the how to's of preventing it moving forward.

i just bought my zen micro photo and i need help with something...my computer is not recognizing that there is a device or something like that....idk if it is because i dont have service pack (if it is how do i tell if i have that) or if its because its not USB 2.0 cause its .....but it says u dont need it. let me know wat the problem is pleeease i need help because i am quite impatient...and im computer illiterate so help me understand thank u

You don't need USB2.0 but you will need to have at least Service Pack for your Windows XP and Windows Media Player 0 installed.

Im having trouble with my zen microph

I turned it on a couple days ago and it froze at the startup screen, and it just says creative on the screen, and you can't do anything about it. I read the faqs and product help stuff that told me to go to recovery mode and select something like clean files. I did that and it says "Scan Disk...". Ive been waiting for like 8 hours, and i need help. I have like 800 songs, so im wondering if that's the reason it is taking so long. Well if you can help me i would greatly appreciate it.

I didn't have this issue with my new ZMP but if you are using it for the very first time and this happens, bring it back to the store and get a replacement. Test it out directly at the store to avoid anymore troublesome issues.

when i try to transfer music to my zen it only puts 3 out of the say 0 song that are on the cd! i tryed to sync it with my comp and i was let down i got maby or2 of the 340 songs that wernt on the device. then i tryed to use t6the creative mediea exploerer deal and i tryed to transfer the music and out of the 340 songs that i had only 20 ttransferd and it happens every time and im sol to take it back cause i got it for chrismas and my grandma bought more than a year befor she gave it to me so im pretty F#*Ked

It sounds like the typical failing headphone socket problem, covered to some degree in the FAQ.
Information on how to backup the player is covered in this thread.
You are probably best to return to Creative direct, so contact support to arrange this.

Xp does not identify my Zen Microph

First sorry if i have bad english im good at swedish . the problem i have is that when i connect my mp3 (zen Microphoto) to my computer it comes up a little box (MTP Media PLayer ) there you have some options . like synkromise media files to mp3 and orginase and on n on . but the thing is when im trying to synchronize it says cant identify your device. and when im trying to orginase file or open the zen microphoto explorer it says connect your device. and even when i trying to install the ZenMicroPhotoP4S_PCFW_LB__20_0 it says connect your device. and sometimes when i start the mp3 it says re-building liberary . I need your help i dont know what to do to make it work . can you help me please?
