• HELP: Zen Sleek - can't access fi

If anyone can help, it would be most appreciated.
My player and my computer aren't communicating. the computer knows the player is there, knows how much space it has left on it, but won't show the tracks, nor can i add any. I can't get to the files at all from my computer.
It still works fine on its own, as a player. but i can't figure this out. i uninstalled and reinstalled the software, but that didn't help at all.
i've had the Zen Sleek for less than a month and this happened kind of suddenly. The only other problem i had was when it froze up on me for a while when it was like a week old. That and some failed file transfers.
any ideas?

Look in the "My Zen is not behaving properly, and/or won't startup, or goes into rescue mode. What should I do?" section of the FAQ post.

Hey, ZVM_00, I think these are what you're looking for. I'm not sure which one you want to buy but here they are:

As far as your problem with connecting, I can't really help you there. It COULD be your computer but I remember someone telling me to use a different USB port than you're already using. If it's plugged into the front of your computer, try using a back port. That worked for me (for a while anyway). Good luck to you two.
And try what I said, it may work!

• MY ZEN SLEEK IS WET!!! HELP

Hi!!!
My zen sleek is wet!! I drop it in the toilet.... :smileysurprised:
It turns on, but I can't see anything in the screen or listening something.... and I can't open it....
This happened two days ago, and I put it below an incandecent lamp to warm it and dry it, but seems that doesn't work...
In my contry doesn't sell it, so I can't take it to repair here.
Any ideas? please!!!

What country are you from? And did you order it off this site? IF it's under warranty, you can call costumer support and they can tell you how you can send it back the the Labs. If it isn't under warranty, then I don't think you can have it repaired. But do try calling costumer support or email them, they'll help you out. Good luck !

• I have a ZEN Micro and ZEN sleek, can I use the same softwa

I currently have a zen micro and just purchased a zen sleek photo, will I have to reinstall the software using the NEW disk? Will I be able to use them both with the same software?

Yes.

• Zen Sleek photo is great but has terrible softwa

Ok, Im posting this for one reason. The software to edit, transfer, compile playlists, or do anything for the Zen Sleek Photo is horrible. It is very long and tedious to do one simple change. Don't get me wrong I love my Sleek Photo. its great. But editing songs and making playlists in the creative mediasource is really horrible. I had a Zen Micro and it had Creative Mediasource as well, but It was different. It allowed me to veiw all the tracks at once, or all the albums, or all the artists and showed them to me AS THE WOULD APPER IN THE PLAYER. The Sleek Photo has the folders of the music and it is really hard to keep track of your newly transfered music and maybe not yet correctly labeled stuff if you don't know it doesnt have an artist or something. I was hoping someone could help me out? tell me that im stupid and say there is a preference you can choose, or hey here is some third party software, it works great.
That would be wonderful
thanks

No one at all?

• ZEN sleek wont go into recovery mode... help!

I am trying to fix an old (2005 I think) ZEN Sleek which has recently stopped working. Other half recently got a new computer and her new system (Windows 7) would not recognise it. I have XP & Windows media on mine, so with a bit of digging I found out how to upgrade the firmware on her ZEN. I did this this successfully last year, so her ZEN has now worked OK with windows 7 for the last 9 months - until now. Symptoms : ) Switch on - get spash screen followed by "Creative Zen" - then all keypad lights flash once and screen reads "Select music to play from music library" BUT none of the keys will respond. The only thing which responds is the OFF button. 2) Resetting using a paperclip on the little hole - gives EXACTLY the same response - only the OFF button works 3) Holding play/pause & resetting - exact same response - only OFF button works. It will not go into recovery mode. Connecting to PC. ) PC recognises it as ZEN sleek. screen shows "Docked" as normal. 2) Can access the Hard Dri've through Windows Explorer but not through Creative Media Organiser. Media organiser does not recognise that it is attached. HD works OK. Can save and retrei've files to/from HD via Windows. 3) Even tried reinstalling the new firmware again. It all upgrades successfully (it says so on my PC and on the ZEN screen) but still won't go into recovery mode. Anyone have any ideas or do i now have the world's most expensi've paperweight ?

IS THIS HOW YOU DO IT?
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary.

• Zen Sleek Softw

I've upgraded my Zen?Sleek firmware.Following that I tried to install the upgrade software but the result was the following error during installation:0x80040707?In Safe Mode I managed to install all updates for my Zen Sleek apart from the one which asks 'please connect your player'. Since i'm in Safe Mode the drivers are not loaded and i cannot continue the installation. I can still use the Creative products, such as Import Manager, CD Ripping Wizard and Sync Manager etc. by opening the .exe's in the Program Files. I also installed all the software and updates on a second PC (Dell laptop) and everything works fine!Does anybody know how to enable drivers in Safe Mode?

• How do you set Zen sleek drive space through softwa

OK,
So I have a Zen sleek and I accidentally cracked the screen. No problem, used a wire remote and still good. Except the jack on the Zen broke and it doesn't respond now. So I figure I'll use this as a glorified portable hard dri've, except the manual says I need to set the size through the player, which I can't see what I'm doing. Does anybody know how I can do this through software? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers,

I just wanted to close out this question.
I never received a clear answer but in the end I don't need to use the function. My concern was that a new WD1001FALS would be louder than the OEM 320GB HDD in my iMac to the point that I wouldn't be happy with it. Not wanting to trade speed for quiet I passed on the Green caviar and went for the Black. After living with it for several weeks I can say that it is very quiet and while I don't know if it's measurably louder than the old drive, it's not enough for me to notice (and I'm pretty picky).
So, I'm happy with the drive as-is, case closed.

• Installing Zen Sleek Photo 20 GB software over Zen Sleek softwa

I have a Zen Sleek 20 GB that can't/won't be fixed. I just purchased a refurbished Zen Sleek Photo GB. My question is - can I just install the Zen Sleek Photo software over the Zen Sleek's software Or, do I have to uninstall the Zen Sleek's software first Thanks

It's probably a good idea to uninstall your Zen Sleek's software before installing the Zen Sleek Photo's.
That said, I run 4 different Creative .mp3 players on my computer and haven't had issues with them. Still, it's probably a good idea to uninstall the older software.

• HELP: My Zen Sleek completely freaked out

okay, i have had this zen for a while the buttons stoped working, the play, stop, move up or down, or the up one level buttons don't work. the scroll bar doesnt work either. It will turn on, but the screen will be stuck on the last song i was listening to before it went into the coma. any advise is greatly appreciated.

• CREATIVE ZEN SLEEK HELP!!!PLZZZZZ!!!!

My Zen turns on but it only stays and the start up screen that says ZenSLeek, it stays their till the battery runs out i cant do anything anyone knows what to do!!!!!thx for your time!!!!

Detach the Zen player from your PC , and ensure that the Zen Sleek is turned off.
Connect the power supply to the player.
Hold down the Play/Pause button while inserting a paper clip into the Reset hole underneath your player, beside the data/power connector. Keep on holding the Play/Pause button while you release the Reset button. The Rescue Mode screen will then appear.
After the recovery mode has started, release the Play/Pause button

The player will display the following options:
Clean Up (Performs a disk scan on the players hard disk, it will not affect music files)
Format All (Formats the players hard disk - Note: all contents will be lost)
Reload Firmware (Reloads the Operating System on the Zen. Select this option ONLY if you have access to a PC and you have downloaded the necessary firmware to install.)
Reboot (Reboots the device).

Run a clean up then reboot

• Real Player/XP crashed, now Zen Sleek 20GB not recogni

Okay, I had my Zen Sleek 20 GB connected one day, put the computer in standby mode, then disconnected the device. When I turned the computer back on, I got a blue screen (first time for this year-old Dell!) saying it had recovered from a major error. After that, anytime I tried to transfer an MP3 or anything else over to my player in Real, a message would pop up saying that the device did not support my file type, which was impossible. I thought the crash might have something to do with it, so I went ahead and uninstalled EVERYTHING on my computer, then reinstalled everything. Didn't work. Formatted my Zen, and erased the firmware. But when I tried to install the new firmware, the installation wizard didn't "see" the device, as if it wasn't connected. So now I'm clueless as to what to do next, and my player is completely on the fritz. Any ideas?

Howdy, I have a Zen MicroPhoto 8 GB player that is stuck, and as much as I know about MP3 players, even I can't fix this thing. Somebody's gotta help me now. I know how to access the Recovery mode, but that doesn't help me much if it freezes up when I access anything there. My computer doesn't even recognize the player either. I am running XP Pro with WMP-2. I usually like Creatives because it's easy for my PC to see it as a new dri've and then just copy/paste songs to it. I don't really like the time consumption of using a pc player to manage my music. Well, I really need help making my PC see the player. I think if I could see the player I could format and reinstall software....maybe. I don't have an a/c charger but have always charged it with the pc usb cable. I have two good batteries that will run the player too. I can always fix the GB or less Creative players (flash memory), even if my pc won't recognize them. I am apparently dumb about the hard dri've players cause I can't get anything to work to save my life. Once, and only once, I got my device manager to see it...but it wouldn't let me install or manage software transfer to the player. It just said "your player is not connected"....and I can't remember what I did to get it to see it in the device manager either. One more thing, I have a bluetooth a/c charger that has an output of 550 mA's. I have thought about connecting that and boosting the power...temporarily....to see if that does it.....but I'm a little scared to do that. I'm liable to fry my player...! Anybody know a way I can start to fix my 8GB player (signed: "Very Frustrated"
