Henging at log in window with new image client OS 10.4.8

Hello everyone
I need help to solve this problem.
I upgraded OS Server 10.3.9 to OS Server 10.4.8. Everything worked well so far.
Alle client machines with OS 10.3.9 (old image) did not heng at the log in window, but NEW IMAGE with OS client 10.4.8
I tried to use some accounts (which are already created by the old image) to log in the new image. It just hang at the log in window.
Why and what should I do now?
Please don´t tell me to do Server from beginning, because it is over 400 users

Please be more verbose about your setup. What images? What accounts are created by the old image? Where are they created?
How can accounts living in OS 10.4 Server's LDAP database be created by the (old) image of a OS X Client OS? I'd expect them to be created through Workgroupmanager.app.
And so on...

Photoshop crashes while using multiple windows with one image

Has anyone else encountered the following problem:
Photoshop CS4 crashes sooner or later when working with multiple windows with one image (window->arrange->new window for...).
I remember having same problem since CS2. Is this a bug in Photoshop or am I having a bad luck?
Technical specifics:
Ps CS4, iMac, 21.5, 10.6

Don't know. I haven't heard of other people having that problem.
Do you have a crash report I could look at?
Or have you attached your email to crash reports sent to Adobe and can you tell me the date on one of them?

Image Ultra - cannot build W510 with new image - stops on missing Operating System Modules

Hi folks,
I am trying to build a new image for a Thinkpad W510 using ImageUltra 4(and now 5). I cannot get it to build unless I use the Network Install. If I use the boot disk, and select the Install and Setup option, it prepares the disk, and service partition and copies the modules to it. It then restarts, and instead of commencing the OS installation, boots to the ImageUltra Builder screen showing options to boot to another drive, go into the bios or start the browser.
If I clik in the ImageUltra link, it brings up an Image Ultra Map menu viewer dialog to tell me that a module is missing. This module is the Windows XP Primary Partition moule.
In desperation, I have upgraded to Version 5, and replaced the IUB4 modules with the corresponding version 5 ones. Still the same problem.
As I said, I can use the network install, so it looks like it cannot see the service partition.
I have the disk set to compatibility and not AHCI.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I have seen, this same situation in the past with the T400 systems.
My problem was caused by the fact, that I placed XP Partitioning module into the wrong order.
From your description I assume, you want to deploy XP on the system.
So in this case make sure, that following in kept:
- you have configred the service partition to resize on the BACK (NOT on the front)
- make sure, that you define the service partition size to be dynamic (if it's too small, then tat would explain your situation)
Right now you are thinking on the same stuff as I do: "This all is correct, because it works using the network deployment ... "
Please understand, that the logic, when you are using CD deployment and Network deployment is a bit different.
Have you tried to use the deployment using a USB key?
I would also advice (as a debuging start) to remove EVERY module except following modules from your Base Map:
- XP Partitioning module
- Customization module
- Unattend .txt module
- OS main module
This will only show, if it might not be possible, that some other module is not intergerring with your image deployment.
NOTE: for this test deployment exclude the driver map.
In case none of the above will work, then please describe a bit more your Base Map (what all does it contains and how the service aprtition is set + what about the cleanup option,.... )
NOTE2: please in case you have the AHCI driver contained in the installation, then set also the SATA configuration in BIOS to AHCI when deploying.

Lightroom hangs when syncing folder with new images

I have been using lightroom for some time with no problem but today whenever I try to sync a folder that has new raw files in it, lightrrom hangs and then crashes out saying windows will notify me if it finds a solution, I have tried uninstalling lightroom and reinstalling but still get the same issue, if there are no new images it goes through the sync process fine and reports complete.
Does anyone know why this might be happening suddenly?

after several restarts and reinstalls it has started working again, cannot say what was causing the issue as it just randomly started working again.

Updating image collection with new images

I have an image collection which works as a slideshow which can be paused/resumed. This works fine but my problem is that these images are going to change everyday but they will keep the same filename. Is there a way to get the collection to refresh itself
automatically or perhaps if there is a different way to do this rather than a collection? Something that grabs the image from file at run time rather than storing a copy locally which the collection seems to do.

If I understand you correctly, the app you're building will display images that are new everyday, but keep the same name. If this is correct, then to be able to do this you will need to work with a REST based source such as RSS or Facebook, for example.
The reason is that since we always fetch from these sources, displaying the data returned, and therefore any changes you make such as a new image or name will be pulled into Siena when we go grab the data. This is different from a source
like Excel where we take a snapshot and use with Siena. As you have observed, this snapshot will only get updated when you manually refresh from the backstage.

CSS11000 does not take config after reboot with new image

CSS11000 was upgraded with new IOS image.
However, it did not take the current config (which was 'wr m') when rebooted from the new image. It seemed to have taken the config from another disk partition -?!. We had to revert back to the old boot image....then it worked (with the right config).
Being unfamiliar with CSS's, I'd appreciate any expert's hints on this. Thanks!

When you upgrade/downgrade to a version you have previously run, the CSS will restore the config you had when you ran that version the last time.
I haven't bothered to check the docs or figure out myself, how to disable this behavior.
I just get a copy of the config via FTP before i boot the new version, and then i FTP it back and reboot again, this usually works although i have seen it dump the config ones.

HT204053 Trouble logging into iTunes with new AppleID account

When I try to log in to my new appleID account, it takes me to a page that says "Item Not Available". It tells me to make sure my computer's date is set correctly, and that it accepts cookies from the iTunes Music Store. Then it has a link to this page: http://www.apple.com/support/?artnum=93440 where I can find absolutely nothing related to doing either. Help, please?

Black screen when log into windows with microsoft account enabled

if i login into windows with my microsoft account enabled, then my screen is black for a while and then windows will show my desktop. Anyone with the same problem?

"Log On" screen with new token

Hello, I have an ASP.NET app which is opening a separate report window (IE browser instance). Each time I open this window to generate/view a report, I call CreateLogonTokenEx() to get a new token to pass to BOE.
Is this the correct method?
If so, then here's the problem I'm seeing. The first time I open the window I get the BO "Log On" screen. If I close the window and then click my report link again (and remember each click generates a new token), the report window opens again and successfully displays my report.
After this window successfully displays I close it, then wait the duration of the token's session (validMinutes) and try clicking the report link again. I again get the "Log On" screen, which I can then close and reopen successfully with another click in the same sequence I described above.
If I'm generating a new token with every report click (and I verified this), then why do I get prompted with the "Log On" screen? And why does it go away with the next new token and click but not with the first?
So the first question is: why do I get prompted the first time I generate a new token in a new session?
The second is: why is it that once I've viewed the report on the second attempt, and the token validity has passed, the next report request results in a login prompt, despite the fact that I'm generating a new token for each request? In other words, why does one token's timeout seem to affect another's?
I feel like there's something fundamental I'm missing here. To me, a new session token means a new session unaffected by any other, but I'm being prompted on its first use.
Any ideas? I wonder if I'm doing something incorrectly, but I can't figure out what that would be.

Time Capsule connecting to windows with new firmware

I have opgraded my TC´s firmware to 7.4.1, and now my PC cannot log on to the harddrive in it. I get this error message: The computer cannot connect to the TC, check that netbios is on.
This is translatet fra danish, but the meening is the same.
What is wrong???

The new firmware does not work with Windows XP. I had to revert to the last firmware, and the last version of Airport, but the good news is, you can't do that thru Windows either. You HAVE to boot thru MacOS because their instructions for Windows and the Airport do not work. You are unable to find previous versions of the firmware unless you use the Airport util thru native MacOS.

Possible with larger timecode window with new FxPlug 3 functions?

One of the things I miss in fcpx is a larger timecode window. This is a must when working in pair with a reporter. The small standard timecode display is just too small and too hard to read from a distance.
The new FxPlug 3 functions "allows developers to create custom interfaces for their plugins inside of Final Cut."
So does anyone have an idea if it is possible to make a larger timecode window that displays the source timecode?

The compression I gave you was h.264. A nice small web version that plays nice and looks good.
Not sure what compression at the size you were talking about would actually get you to 2 gigs.
I'd send him that... or ask for a more specific call on what he gets from the TV work. I suggest he open one of those files in QUICKTIME and hit COMMAND-I (EYE) to get the information. Have him post or send you a screen grab like this:

Didn't lose my apps, lost the logged app info with new iPhone

I am the proud new owner of the Verizon iPhone. I already had an iTouch, so I had many apps to load to the phone. One app, in particular, was a running app in which I had logged my miles and pace over the past year. I was hoping all of this info would be stored, somehow, in iTunes and would come over to the new iPhone. Well, the app loaded, but the info did not. I still have my miles and pace times on my iTouch, but how can I get that to the iPhone? Is it possible? Thanks!

You need to backup your Touch and then Restore your iPhone using the Touch's backup. The app data is stored in the backup.

'GWMessage' in fact?
I suppose 'GWMessage' ist your 'sendable draft'?
If so, you try to delete the 'Draft', which is automatically deleted when the message
is sent.
I would rather do it that way:

How can I exchange all the images in a slide show with new ones

I have 18 slide shows each is a different competition for our camera club. How can I exchange all the images from each slide show with new images as our club competitions commence? I am reluctant to just delete the slide show because I will have set it all back up. I want to leave the size shape and format of the show as is, but just exchange all of the current images with new ones. I am hoping there is a quick way to delete and replace all images for each show? Each slide show has around 40 images and I have 18 shows

1. Activate "thumbnails" in the configuration panel
2. Select one Thumbnail.
3. Rightclick and choose "Select same"
4. Press "backspace"
5. Open the configuration panel and load the new images.

Opening/focusing new/existing window with refreshed data

I want to open the results in a new browser window with current requested data as soon as I click on a button from a jsp.I mean as soon as I click on a button if the new window is already opened then the opened window should be get focused with refreshed current data, if the new browser window is not already opened then clicking on button from jsp should open a new window with refreshed data.
Following both ways are not working proper, could you tell me whts wrong with it..?
