Here drive can't display route offline

If i navigate to a gps coordinate within here drive on my lumia 820 it shows the destination on the
map. When i hit thr drive to button (not sure if this is the english name for the button, i use the dutch version) it says "can't show the route offline". Is it possible to save that route after it is displayed online to use it later offline?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Do you have the Maps installed on your device ? If the start point, end point and the route is passing thru' different countries, you need to download Maps for all the countries involved....

  • How can I display application offline page when OAS is offline?

I am using IIS with oracle_proxy.dll redirecting to my oracle application server. When I do maintenance on the application and stop the OAS service the end-user gets the HTTP 500 - Internal server error from Internet Explorer. I would prefer for them to see a custom page that displays that the application is offline for maintenance. I tested with IIS custom error pages but that is not where the 500 page is coming from. The page being displayed is the IE friendly HTTP error message. I can't see how a configuration on the Oracle application server would help because the service is offline. Is there anything I can do to explain to the users that this is a scheduled maintenance and display a more informative page? I understand the solution may involve stopping, changing a configuration file in IIS and restarting. If so how can I script that so it can be easily done and what is the easiest way to do it?
Thank you for your response in advance.
Trying to make oracle more friendly, Jon.

I just wanted to confirm, are you using Oracle HTTP Server?

Can this output be duplicated with an OSPF command?

Not really because OSPF does not advertise routes it sends LSAs to it's peers.
So you need to look at the OSPF database ie. -
    "sh ip ospf database"
which will show you all the LSAs the router is aware of.
In terms of all the LSAs the router has received it will show all of those but it will also show you LSAs that were generated by the router itself although the advertising router IP will point to that being the case.
In terms of all the LSAs the router advertises again it depends on the area and how that has been configured.
So for example an ABR might well have external LSAs (which aren't tied to any area in the OSPF database) but that doesn't necessarily mean it is advertising them to peers within an area as it could have been configured not to.
So it gives you a good idea but you need to also work out a few things for yourself as well.

  • Here Drive + Algorithm Problems?

I want to start this post with some praise for Here Drive +. Ten years ago, it would have cost €300. Now it comes for free with a Nokia Lumia, and in most cases does a better job than the old SatNav. But I have my doubts about its shortest route algorithm.
Yesterday I set off for a destination which was only about 5 miles away, but I'd never been there before and there is a maze of backroads around it. So I saved it in Here Maps and used Here Drive + to navigate there. Around halfway there I started to recognise some of the roads, and reckoned I was taking the long way around. It took me 5.2 miles to get to my destination. On the way back, I ran Here Drive but took my own route. Just as my route diverged from the Here Drive route, my estimated time of arrival was 19:03. A few seconds later, after it had recalculated for the new route, my time of arrival was 19:02. To get to the parking space I had originally left took me 4.9 miles on the way back.
I always keep Here Drive + set to 'Faster Route', but from my example above, it's not finding either the shorter or faster route. At least, not consistently. And yes, obviously 0.3 miles and 1 minute is no big deal. But if it's not getting the shortest/fastest route over a five-mile drive where available routes are limited, then it's certainly not getting it for the longer drives where options are multiplied.

If Here is anything like Nokia Drive, it has the worst routing algorithms out there.  Count yourself lucky if it didn't have you going in circles, as Drive frequently attempts to make me do.    There is simply no way that this is even a passable substitute for a stand-alone GPS.

  • Here drive and no commute function

i have just bought at nokia 520 specifically for nokia drive and commute function, very dissapointed to see nokia drive isn't there it is now "here drive" and has lost the commute function.
does anyone know if when "here drive" is out of beta the communte function will be added?
my store have no idea, I cant find any info on the net and nokia's auto phone switchboard just keep cutting me off so I cant ask the question! I'm about ready to give up on it and get a refund agggghhhhhh

I bought a Nokia Lumia 520 and bought the global navigation license / HERE Drive+ yesterday from within the HERE DRIVE app.
The funny thing is I can't find My Commute either among the other options listed such as SET DESTINATION, FAVORIITES, SAVE LOCATION, etc.
    http://www.wpxbox.com/whats-new-in-here-drive/
Anyone know why this is the case and how I can make My Commute appear as one of the options?  Thanks in advance.
    http://here.com/help/search/my-commute/wp8:drive/
Where does My Commutein HERE Drive get traffic info?
Traffic info comes from many sources:
Incident reports: ’Incidents’ can be anything from jams on motorways to planned roadworks. The reports often come from local authorities, such as the police or a traffic management agency.
Traffic sensors: Many metropolitan areas have traffic flow sensors that measure the current average speeds on motorways and major roads.
People like you: Incident reports are timely, but sensors focus mainly on major motorways. So we also rely on the wisdom of local people to help us get a picture of the traffic situation throughout the city. People who use HERE Drive or HERE Drive+ can also help by providing anonymous info about their current travel speed.
Historic info: If sensors aren’t giving us enough info, we can make relatively good assumptions about current traffic speeds based on historic info. Many city streets have very regular patterns, such as a traffic jam most mornings and fast-flowing traffic at night.
Modelling: In many cases, it’s possible to infer the overall traffic situation from partial info. If there’s a heavy jam on a major road, for example, the adjoining side roads are probably also crowded.

  • HUD display for Here Drive...

Garmin has announced a HUD for it's NAVGON applications:
    https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/on-the-road/apps/head-up-display-hud-/prod134348.html?utm_source=gar...
It would be TREMENDOUS if we could do something like this with our Lumias.. Even if it were an 'alternate' (i.e. mirrored) display whereby if we mounted the phone on the dash, it would reflect onto the windsheild in readable format.
A BT-enabled projector would be even better....

    Hi everyone!
We are aware of this concern and currently working on this. Here's the official statement regarding the availability of Here Drive, Here Drive + and Here Transit on the Store:
"We are updating HERE Drive, HERE Drive+ and HERE Transit with new features like traffic information, My Commute and a much more intuitive UI. In some cases, the update process failed and we are working on a solution right now. HERE Drive, HERE Drive+ and HERE Transit will be available again for download soon."

  • Can I use my time capsule with a bad hard drive as a wireless router if I remove the hard drive?

I have a 500 GB time capsule with a failed HD (i've repalced the whole machine with a new time capsule).  I cannot get past the start up when I plug it in and the light glows a solid amber.  If I remove the hard drive can I use it as just a wireless router to exted my network?

Yes, although the existing power supply might go bad before long.. you can run the TC as just an AEBS..
It is a fairly easy job to get the hd out.
    http://www.ifixit.com/Device/Apple_Time_Capsule
Key to it is using hot air gun or even a hair dryer on really high temp lowest fan and spend enough time getting to glue to soften.

  • Can Time Capsule be used as an external drive but not a router

Greetings,  I have a spare 1TB older Time Capsule that I would like to give to a friend who would like to use it as an external hard drive w/time machine.  They currently have a current iMac with Comcast internet and router which they would prefer to continue using for internet access.  My question is: can a time capsule be set up to be used as an external backup drive without using the router capability. Thanks for any advise.
    Scotgt Lorigan

My question is: can a time capsule be set up to be used as an external backup drive without using the router capability
    Yes
Connect the Time Capsule to the Comcast router using a wired Ethernet connection from a LAN port on the Comcast router to the WAN port on the Time Capsule and set it up to create a network.
Then, go back in using AirPort Utility and turn off the wireless function on the Time Capsule. The Time Capsule will operate as  "bridge" in this type of setup, so it will not perform as a router.

  • I can't access my USB network drive connected to my router.

I have a G5 that I was running Tiger, and could easily access a usb network drive connected to my router. As soon as I upgraded to Leopard, I sporadically get access, but usually not.
I just purchased an iMac with Snow Leopard and then upgraded to Lion, but I have never had access to this drive.
I can't get access with either Mac now, but I have no problem accessing the drive from a PC on the same home network, so I know the drive is connected properly, and is working properly.
Any thoughts how to access this drive from my Macs?

Let's say that the name of your drive is Hard Drive
Check using AirPort Utility to get the IP address of your AirPort Extreme, for example you see that it is 10.0.1.1
You'll need to know the device name for the AirPort Extreme. This is not the wireless password, it's the device password.
On the PC, open My Computer
Click on Tools and select Map Network Drive.
Select the drive you want, "Z" for example
On the next line for Folder, type in
    \\10.0.1.1\Hard Drive
    Click Finish
    Type in your user name
Type in the device password for the AirPort Extreme

  • Help! Router repartitioned my drive, can't see my data!

I think I've lost about a TB worth of data. I'm rebulding a computer and had my hard drive, a Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB, in an external enclosure so that I could access files from it until I could move them to a new drive. I just happened to hook the drive up to the USB port on my new Linksys EA3500 router and now I can't see anything. I believe the process of plugging the drive in, allowed the router to mess with the partition table of my drive. Before, when things worked I saw three logical drives. one of about 50-75 MB of reserved space. One of about 80 GB that was my original system drive and one of about 920 GB that was my main data drive. All of these were NTFS. Now when I look at the drive, all I see is one drive FAT32 drive of about 71 MB.
If I look at the drive under Computer Management, Storage, Disk Management, I see the drive is made up of a 71 MB FAT 32 Primary Partition and a 932 GB Unallocated partition.
Am I totally screwed? Is my data still there and is there any way for me to access it or any utilities I can use to get to my data in this unallocated partition? What the heck did this thing do to my drive without permission?!
Help! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Much thanks in advance.
    - Byron Followell

Yes, I did, and no, I could not see any of my files.
Luckily I purchased recovery software, GetDataBack, many years ago. I downloaded the current version for NTFS and after several hours of scanning, am able to view most of my data from within the program but I can see nothing directly from Windows. I have a couple of days of very inconvenient and very time-consuming recovery ahead of me.
Hopefully I will be able to get most, if not all, of my files back.
Now my concern is, what the heck did my router do to my drive that caused this in the first place? Even if it wasn't compatible, how could it just repartition/corrupt my drive this way?

  • Can I turn off the background task for HERE Drive+...

    Hello,
I have installed on my new Lumia 1020 the application HERE Drive+ and I have noticed that it starts up a background task. Since I'm not using HERE Drive+ on a daily basis I think I could save some battery if I turn off this background task and it is started automatically only when I'm using Drive+ application. Can I do that?
I went to Settings->Applications->Background tasks and tried to block HERE Drive+. So far so good but when I tried to set to ON (checked) the option "Turn background tasks back on for this app the next time I open it", HERE Drive+ application was automatically unblocked. Is this normal?
I want to know if I can stop the background task for HERE Drive+ and have it automatically started up when I open HERE Drive+ application.
    Thank you.
    Cosmin Petrenciuc
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It may be something I missunderstand. So if I go to Settings->Application->Background tasks and tap the button "Advanced" I see a list with many applications, and among them there is HERE Drive+. Above this list it is written "These apps can run in the background, and you may not be able to block all of them".
Does this just means that HERE Drive+ application is allowed to run in the background? Do I see in this window the list of all background tasks currently running or it is just a list with the application that could run in background?
Right now I don't have any application running. If I keep pressing on back button the app card list is empty.
    Thank you.

  • Here Drive + Routes

Ok, I appreciate the fact that Nokia are giving away maps for free, but my old Nokias (N79, X6, C7, N8) all had off line map and navigate capability and would sync with 'here.com' with both favorites, routes and folders (collections) and still do. Now that Windows has moved in (WP8), the routes feature and collection appear not to sync. All you get is Favorite locations listing, not routes or collections that you have created on the here.com website - this is not progress. I have both Lumia 620 and now a 925 and neither sync routes or collections. Whats the point in having a feature like route creation on the 'here.com' website, when it doesn't actually work on the Windows Lumia phones?...On another function, Windows Phone 8 has at last updated the phone software to allow us to use our own sounds for incoming SMS and emails, so it seems they are getting there, but why are we having to wait for a 'smartphone' with the functions that the Symbian S60 system had years ago...? Or am I missing something? I would be glad to be corrected...
