Here Drive won't even start on Lumia 520

Hello
Here Drive app is not even starting. It shows me the app logo and then throws me back to menu. Restoring factory settings did not help.

  • X6 errors, now it won't even start anymore

    Hei!
I've had the X6 now for about a month and a half and while I was updating the software something went wrong. It couldn't reinstall the backup.
Ever since that moment my phone has been doing weird stuff.. The touchscreen sometimes doesn't respond or just fades away and the phone restarts.
I get errormessages that the memorycard can't be found (I have the 32gb version) and properties disappear.
Now the phone won't even start when I have my simcard inserted. It gives the error message 'Selftest failed, contact the reseller'.
I can't do anything with it, the message disappears when I take out the battery but when I start it up again the same message appears..
Who can help me? It's really urgent!

A hard reset (x6, 5800 and 5230 only) is done by the following (warning, this deletes all data on your phone):
1.) Turn off the phone and remove battery for 5min
    2.) Reinsert battery
3.) Press and hold the green, red and camera buttons. DO NOT LET GO.
4.) While holding the three buttons, press the power key to boot the phone up.
5.) Keep on pressing until you see the country selection screen.
A correctly done hard reset would show you that everything on the phone (contacts, messages, calendar entries, etc) would be deleted. So it is advisable to back them up. Upon restoration, do not restore settings or files if possible.

  • GTA Vice City won't even start?

So i just downloaded GTA vice city and it took enough to install so when it finished i tried to start it and at the same second it turns on and then off, basiclly won't even start. Has anyone gotten the app already and tried it out? Maybe solution for my problem?

It's possible you simply have a defective battery. Try going down to your local Apple Store and try one of their batteries in your MBP. If it works then simply replace it.

  • Download won't even start (Adobe Flashplayer)

Hello, I am using Macbook Pro - Lion Version 10.8.2. I have tried downloading/uninstalling the previous version and downloading again. But the download for the latest Adobe Flashplayer won't even start. The page just loads but the download does not start. I tried restarting my com and did all that's said in the forum.. But it seem I'm the only one facing this problem. I have made sure that I'm downloading the correct version for it, just FYI. Any one knows how I can solve it? Thanks!

Can you check to see if you have "enable plug-ins" checked in Safari's preferences dialog, under the security tab? If not, enable it and check.
It seems to be a browser specific issue. Try a different browser like chrome or firefox, it should work.
For fixing Safari, lets follow below suggestions :
Run the Flash Player Uninstaller as applicable for your machine(i.e.Windows or MAC) and remove flash player.
    For MAC : http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html
    Restart the machine.
    Download and Re-install Flash Player.
    Restart the browser and check.

My MBP which is just over a year old won't even start up now, I press 'Power' then it tries but just switches itself off.
Recently i started noticing that it was not charging properly as well.
Since I am out of warranty will it be a long costly procedure to determine the problem?

  • New Lumia 520 won't even Start!!!!

    Hi All,
My roommate just received a Nokia Lumia 520 which he ordered online a couple of days ago.
The thing is, the phone won't even boot up. The Nokia logo appears, stays, disappears for a few seconds and then gets back on again.
This has been going on for about 2.5 hours, which seems excessively long. We have tried the reset key-combo (Vol down + Lock), but I don't think there is anything to reset in this phone. My laptop was unable to install the driver for the device, reporting that the device was disconneted in between - my guess is its turning on and off again and again.
He called up the Nokia Care Hotline, and they said that the phone may take about 30-40 minutes to boot up the first time, but I think he was over-estimating, considering it took nowhere near as long for my Lumia 510 to boot up the first time.
Tough luck for the guy, but do you guys think there is something we can try to do for ourselves or do we have to get a replacement or something?
Looking forward to your responses on this post,
    Thanks!

OK... final bit of info for Paul and Rayhipkiss.
While we are certain that this phone has a firmware defect, the Combo that Ray suggested is using an extra key. The actual key combo for restart the phone is Volume Down + Power.
In order to reset the phone, which I did try on this particular one, you need to bring it into Reset mode. This is done using the Volume Down key on the rocker. When successful, you see an exclamation mark. Now, you press the following keys in the mentioned sequence:
Vol Up + Vol Down + Power Key + Vol Down.
As the phone resets (Phone purges to Factory settings), two gears appear on the screen, rotating.
When done, the phone should have reset itself to normal. Unfortunately for this phone, SN=AFU.

  • My clone external hard drive won't boot - start up?

    Hi,
I am selling my MacPro and need to clone its system drive for the new lap top I will buy soon. So I bought a new external 2TB HDD from OWC. I have found that this external HDD will not boot up, even though it says it is bootable, and appears in the Start Up prefs when I select it. It sppears on the desktop, doesn't make any weird clicking noises as well.
I am using 10.6.8 OS X. The 2TB HDD has two partitions (created with DU), one is bootable (Mac OS X extended journaled), and the other is a regular HDD space for media etc. It is GUID. It has "Ownership" checked in the info box.
I used CCC 3.4.4 and since this is 'hopefully' a one time deal, selected the 'Delete anything that doesn't exist on the source' setting. I cloned my system drive to the bootable space and had no problems with the transfer. Plenty of space to write all the files. I even made sure everything was checked in the 'source' window that a system drive might need. Everything was checked.
I spoke with a representive at the OWC Sales company and checked that this HDD can be used as a bootable drive.
I checked the connections: with external HDD with FW800, and Sata connectors. I have checked it with my Mac Book Pro as well. Same result. No boot.
I really don't understand why this drive won't boot, since everything looks correct.
Does anyone have any thoughts, suggestions, ideas for fixing this issue?
    Thanks
    M

Not sure if you managed to get this issue resolved yet Marcus, but I too have a similar problem:
Currently I'm upgrading from Leopard to Lion (via Snow Leopard) on both an iMac and MacBook Pro (both Intel), but before I proceed with the OSX upgrade I wanted to back everything up. Thus far I have partitioned an external firewire drive (G Drive - one that is bootable), and cloned each machine using Carbon Copy Cloner to it's own partition (both GUID). There is plenty of space left over on each partition.
The issue - I can boot the OS X from the external drive on the MacBook Pro but not on the iMac.
When I restart and hold down Option on the iMac the only drive that appears is the HDD, not the other two selectable drives that are visible if I boot up on the MacBook Pro. On the iMac in System Prefs > Startup Disc I can see all 3 drives but when I select it and restart, the machine freezes on the grey loading screen and goes no further.
Not that it should make a difference, but there is a 3rd partition on the external drive that is currently empty (for extra storage).
Any help is greatly appreciated - I can't find any relevant answers elsewhere. Thanks,
    Dan

  • ISync won't even start up

At first, I used isync to sync my Sony Clie, but then it turns out that Palm Desktop actually works better. Now Palm Desktops will not sync. So I decided to do a backup with Isync and it wont even start, it quits out on me. I try to Reopen, but it stays looping.
    Please help,
    Paul

There are several issues in play here.
To begin with, have you applied the Mac OS X 10.4.9 Update? If so, did iSync 2.3 work before you applied the OS update?

  • T61 - Blue screen error message (nv4_disp) - Now computer won't even start!

Hi I have a Lenovo T61 (Type: 7662-CTO) Windows XP.
A couple days ago, all of sudden my screen turned in a yellowish hue, started flickering intensely and froze; I had to manually shut it off (by pushing the power button).
Next day, I started my computer and it worked fine until I had the exact same flickering and freezing issue, but this time, the screen didn't turn in a yellowish hue. Once again, I manually shut it off and went to bed.
This morning, however, when I started my computer, my screen went totally blank, though I could hear my computer running. I hooked it up to my TV to see if anything comes up and that's when I got this blue screen of error message.
    It says:
     ================================================================================
Problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
Problem seems to be caused by the following file: nv4_disp
If this is the first time you’ve seen this stop error screen, restart your computer.
If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
The device driver got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly.
Please check with your hardware device vendor for any driver updates.

    nv4_disp
    beginning dump of physical memory
    physical memory dump complete.
contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance.
    ==================================================================================
It would show this blue screen very briefly and rebooted by itself (without letting me log in windows), so I had to once again manually shut it off.
I thought perhaps cleaning a fan might help, so I opened up my laptop, cleaned the fan, keyboard, palm rest etc and assembled it back together.
When I turned on my computer, now I'm getting NOTHING. Not even a blue screen. Computer would start, but very briefly after (just a few seconds after), it would just shut it off by itself.
Someone please tell me what's wrong with my computer and if I can revive it at all.
Also, would you recommend me to bring it to the local Lenovo repair center (http://bplocator.lenovo.com/)?
Thanks so much for reading a long message.

You can find the latest driver for your system here. Another option would be to run ThinkVantage System Update, which is hopefully on your system, if not you can find it here.
I'm not saying this is the solution or ruling out a hardware problem, (which the flickering suggests), but it's a good place to start

  • Safari won't even start since update to 3.2

I am having the same problem as lots of others I am reading about here. Since I upgraded to 3.2, Safari won't open at all. Just gives me the message that Safari "unexpectedly quit" before it even opens. I have been reading the posts and have tried deleting all the plugins (although I didn't seem to have the ones that were causing others trouble) I deleted all except bookmark.plist in user/library/safari. I even called Apple. She had me delete Quicktime, clear Cache, clear cookies. Nothing worked. She wants me to Archive & Install. Last time I did that I had a very bad experience (and it turned out it wasn't really necessary, anyway) so I am avoiding that.
So for now I am just using Firefox and hoping that someone will come up with an answer that will work for me.
    Thanks

    She had me delete Quicktime
An Apple employee told you that? You should never do that. Quicktime is a fully integrated part of the operating system and should not be deleted.
Rather than attempt a reinstall of bits and pieces I would also recommend an Archive and Install.
    How to Archive & Install:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
This document explains how to correctly reinstall a prior version of Mac OS X in the event that other troubleshooting does not resolve an issue:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25404
BUT: Don't install older versions of Mac OS than what comes with your computer:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25497
Once your operating system is functioning properly again you, and you have installed all security and Quicktime updates relevant to your system, this might help:
If your Safari keeps crashing, or if you are updating Safari (or just have):
N.B. Never delete Safari, never run it under Rosetta, don't use proxy settings.
(If you prefer to download updates via Software Update in the Apple menu (which would ensure that the correct version for your Mac was being downloaded), it is not recommended to allow SU to install major (or even minor) updates automatically. Set Software Update to just download the updater without immediately installing it. There is always the possibility that the combined download and install (which can be a lengthy process) might be interrupted by a power outage or your cat walking across the keyboard, and an interrupted install will almost certainly cause havoc. Once it is downloaded, you can install at a time that suits you. You should make a backup copy of the updater on a CD in case you ever need a reinstall.
Safari 3.2 for download can be found here:
    http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
Make sure you download the correct version for your system.
Also, observe the standard procedure for installing software: repair permissions and close all applications, install, then repair permissions again.)
Input Managers and other plug-ins from third parties can do as much harm as good. They use a security loophole to reach right into your applications' code and change that code as the application starts up. If Safari is crashing, the very first thing to do is clear out your InputManagers folders (both in your own Library and in the top-level Library), log out and log back in, and try again.
So, disable all third party add-ons before updating Safari, as they may not have been updated yet for the new version. Add them back one by one. If something goes awry, remove it again and check on the software manufacturer's website for news of an update to match your version of Safari. Remember: Tiger up to 10.4.10 used Safari 2.0.4 or, if you downloaded it, Safari 3.0.3 beta. Safari 10.4.11 used Safari 3.0.4 which was not a beta and which was updated to v.3.1.2, and now both Tiger and Leopard uses Safari 3.2. If Safari 3.2 is not the fastest browser you have ever used, then something is wrong!
(Trying to revert to a previous version of Safari can have repercussions, as Safari 3.x uses a completely different webkit on which other applications like iChat, Mail, Dashboard Widgets etc also rely, but if you really want to do this post back for instructions on the safe way to do so.)
Most errors reported here after an update are due to an unrepaired or undetected inherent fault in the system, and/or a third party ad-on. Add-ons that have been frequently mentioned here, among others, for causing such problems are Piclens, Saft, AcidSearch and Pithhelmet. If you have them, trash them and go the developer's sites to see if new versions are available for Safari 3.2.
You should also ensure that you have downloaded and installed the correct version for your Mac of Security Updates up to 2008-007, which is required for Safari 3.2. Like all security updates, these require a restart and a permission repair. Note that 2008-007 is a combo update: if you have missed a couple of updates this one will suffice.
To reiterate, Input Managers reach right into an application and alter its code. This puts the behavior of the affected application outside the control and responsibility of its developers: a recipe for problems. That's not to say that issues absolutely will ensue as a result of Input Managers, but you, as a user, must decide. If the functionality of a specific Input Manager or set thereof is really important to you, you may well choose to assume the associated risk.
Again, the advice is to remove all Input Managers from the following directories:
    • Hard Disk/Library/InputManagers
    • Home/Library/InputManagers
especially prior to system updates and updates to Safari (they can always be added back one-by-one later).

  • ITunes won't even start

Hello, I've never had problems with this before, but ever since I got the update it wont start at all. Any help here?

It appears in my processes for 3 seconds then disappears.
that tends to be most consistent with malware, so i'd try randy baton's suggestion.
download fresh definitions and run vigorous virus and spyware scans. if your security software providers offer them, try running an online virus scan too. (that can sometimes pick up an infection even if the security software on the PC has been compromised.)
if your security software providers don't offer online scans, perhaps try the Symantec Online Virus Check. (apologies in advance ... it takes an eternity to complete.)

  • Burn won't even start

    hi -
i'm trying to burn my project, but whenever i click the "burn" button, it just says "formatting finished" and won't do anything else. i don't even have a disc in the drive!
this is the first project i've tried to burn on my new macbook pro - which probably has something to do with it.
any suggestions are greatly appreciated! thanks!

What version of DVD Studio Pro are you using? I don't recall seeing a "burn" button in either 3 or 4. You probably know this but I'll mention it anyway: the "format" button alone won't do too much. Have you built the project before using the format button? (Alternatively you can use the build/format button) - the output should be your DVD drive. Otherwise it should prompt you for where to save the disc image and will create the image to your drive, which can then be burned using Disk Utility or other specialized burning software.

  • Macbook pro has had many kernal panics now won't even start

I've read the phrases kernal panic and failing gpu. I stating getting these a few months back. They have been happening in clusters. Now after closing the book it won't start at all and it feels hot. Its gotten hop in the past when apparently it kept going after I closed it but this is the first time it won't start up again for about a half hour now after I opened it up.
This has a solid state drive so its not a disk problem.

That does not mean it can't be a SSD issue.
