I have an asha 503 and have had to reset the phone. I had Here maps installed and it worked perfectly. Since the reset I have downloaded the app but it won't install , the message being trusted certificate corrupt. Can anyone help please. Thanks

Hi, dopple916. Were able you to install any apps from the Store aside from that? If not, do they get the same error message? Note that HERE Maps for the Nokia Asha platform has been replaced with Maps by Microsoft. This includes the same functionality as HERE Maps. You can search and install it from the Store.

I brought it in UK , I register in UK, I am in UK and as country i chosen Great Britain.
So it will not be available for me ever? Or if i somehow use india proxy and i will be available to use it after download.

Asha 503 voip accounts not registering on 3G & not...

Hi all.
I had some trouble to find the proper Forum area for this issue. I hope this is the right place.
Here is the description of the issue:
    [1]Before inserting any SIM into Asha 503:
    [1.1]Through Wi-Fi, mobile registers and makes voip calls, both using encryption and not using encryption;
    [2]After inserting Operator SIM Card (Vodafone)
    [2.1]Accounts (both using and not using encryption) do not register via 3G (even though the sim card allows that - I use same card in other devices);
    [2.2]WiFi connection doesn't register encrypted accounts any more. Tried removing SIM card and restart phone but looks like the "feature" got permanently damaged
I did also try to reinstall firmware but issues remain (meaning that something is being left there from Operator SIM). Anyhow, I should be able to insert a SIM in the phone, otherwise it is not a phone right?
Further info: Previously I have been testing an Asha 311:
    [1]Registers and calls through 3G and WiFi (both using or not using encryption);
    [2] Has an issue with Encrypted sip accounts- when looses WiFi and comes back to same WiFi network, is not able to re-register (this problem doesn't affect sip accounts which are not encrypted).
    [2.1] This problem is not related to SIM - After reinstaling firmware, the symptoms remain.
NOTE: I quit from trying to solve this problem - that is why I bought the 503 .
If anybody as a clue how to help solving Asha's 503 issue, I would be truly grateful and happy.

PS In the past I came accross a problem in Asha 311 that was returning error when some apps were trying to access to internet and the solution was this:

I am not sure if this would be the same kind of problem occurring now in the Asha 503 (however, Asha503 doesn't seem to have same kind of settings as in Ash 311)

Out of the blue after a few restarts, Asha 503 started to work with no problems when connection is WiFi (both encrypted and not encrypted accounts)*.
When connection is 3G it doesn't work at all (it is the same if account was created via UI or though provisioning).
So, the updated Status is:
Asha 503 - voip over 3G not working
Accounts (both using and not using encryption) do not register via 3G (even though the sim card allows that - I use same card in other devices);
Experienced only once - after testing several times turning on and off WiFi to force 3G, did not register via WiFi any of the accounts - had to restart the device. But this happened only once. Normally there are no issues registering through WiFi.
Asha 311j - issues reregistering encrypted accounts when mobile leaves and comes back to WiFi

*the unique difference from this morning was that I had removed and inserted again the SIM card - after I had changed some mobile data settings via provisioning. but in the morning was not working.

No here maps in Pakistan.

There are no here maps of Pakistan. Neither for viewing online nor for download to view in offline mode. Many apps such as here drive, Nokia transit etc depend on here maps and routes. Please provide here maps of Pakistan as this will prove to be a great feature for Pakistani consumers of Nokia/Microsoft. This will also be helpful in future integration of here maps with Cortana and Microsoft Band when they are released in Pakistan. The map download feature of here maps will attract more smartphone uses towards Windows Phone.

Marathi/Hindi font in Nokia Asha 503

Hello
Yesterday I bought Nokia Asha 503 and updated phone to latest software update by Nokia.
It doesn't support Marathi/Hindi font. Can somebody please help me here?

The language pack made available on a Nokia phone is market and country dependent. The Marathi/Hindi language is only available on Nokia phones intended for countries where the language is mainly used so it should be available in your device if it was originally purchased in India.
BTW, before updating it to the latest software, are you able to see Marathi/Hindi font?

Depending on your region, you can try checking the Store if Yahoo Messenger is available for download on your Asha 503. There are also other chat and social applications that have Yahoo Messnger client. Here's an example: NimBuzz

Same here, an issue present for many, many years in Nokia Series 40. That happens even if the security lock is active. Therefore it cannot be a security measurement. Must be a bug. Anyone with a workaround?

Is there a timer in the music player of Asha 503 auto off?

Error message: User name or password dosen't match
I have tried 3/4 times but end with the same message.
Then I have tried with 'Other email account' accnt with my email id & password & it worked!! Atlast it worked & working like charms. Now I can check my mail anytime anywhere
For those who will be face similar difficulties in future, I am sharing my settings here. But remember that haven't set it manually. It has been set autometically for me.

Cannot login into Here Maps on my Surface 2, but c...

here's the thing.
With the latest updates for the HERE apps, I created a HERE account. This went without problems, and on my phone all HERE/travel related apps can login and work without a problem.
I can sync and such, no issues there. Never used the Nokia account for that anyway, so no losses here ;-)
I reinstalled HERE Maps (problem with updating maps gave me a blanc screen after restarting the app) on my Surface 2, and added the maps I want again.
The app itself works, but I cannot login from within the HERE Maps app on my Surface 2. Eveytime I get the 'cannot login...' error.
The login/passwork combo does work, as I can see on my WP8.1 Lumia phone. So I'm a bit baffled why it doesn't work on my tablet. And no.... logging in with a Facebook account doesn't fly. The MS account might, but that isn't an option here.

Do not see any option to do that at once.. You need to delete them one-by-one ...
What if you go to settings (in Maps on your device..) and set 'Synchronise favourites automatically' to OFF?
Other work around is to create a fresh account at here.com and use that as Nokia account on your phone..

ISync to nokia asha 503: is there a plug-in to enable this?

I have recently bought a new Nokia Asha 503 phone, and when I got it home, tried to sync it to my Mac. iSync tells me "this device is not supported". Is there a plug-in I can install, or should I carry on entering contacts onto the phone by hand?

Does HERE Maps work offline?
Yes, on Windows Phone 8 devices HERE Maps can be used also in offline mode.
With Nokia Maps on the Windows Phone 7 devices you need an online connection. In these devices the map data is streamed on as needed basis and it is not cached.
Can I start Drive navigation from HERE Maps in my Nokia Lumia phone?
Yes, on Windows Phone 8 devices you can start drive navigation from HERE Maps.
On Windows Phone 7 devices you need to go to the Nokia Drive application to start the navigation.
Why can't HERE Maps find my location?
Check that you've allowed HERE Maps and your phone to find your location.
In HERE Maps
Go to Settings in the HERE Maps app and turn on Use your location
In your phone settings
In your phone's main menu, tap Settings > location > on.
Things that can affect your GPS signal may include: being indoors, tall buildings, poor weather and some car windscreens. You'll also get a better fix on your location if you've got a data connection.

Can I use HERE Drive without a data connection?

Why can't HERE Transit find my route?
If you're having trouble getting a route:
Make sure the date, time and time zone on your phone are set properly.
Check that you've got a data connection.
A point in your route might be in a region where no transport info is available.
The route is too long. HERE Transit is designed for use with local city public transport, not national or international transport.
Can I save routes in HERE Transit?
You can pin a journey from your current location as a tile to your Windows Phone start screen.

How do I install Maps 3.09 in my phone?
Maps 3.09 is available for compatible devices as part of the Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 bundle. Installing Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 will install the following applications in your phone:

You can install Nokia Maps Suite on your phone through one of the channels below:
SW Update menu on your phone

When installing via SW Update menu or from Nokia Store, it is recommended to use a Wi-Fi connection or a cellular connection with data plan because a large amount of data will be transferred during the installation. Note that the installation may take a while to complete.

These will need to be turned off in the Positioning Settings on your phone. Please see your phone manual for more information.
How do I know if there is an update available for the map data in Nokia Maps 3.x?
You can check if your device has the latest compatible Map data simply by connecting your device to a PC running Nokia Suite and selecting View > Go To > Maps.
If you are using Mac, download Map Loader for Mac and then check if there's an available update for Map data (applies only for Maps 3.04 and older, version 3.06 and later not supporting Map Loader for Mac).
With Maps 3.06 and later you can check the availability of map data updates and do the update over Wi-Fi (WLAN) connection by selecting:
Maps 3.06: Update > Check for updates.
Maps 3.08 and later: Map Loader > Check for updates.
How can I start Drive navigation in Maps 3.08 (and later)?
There is an icon for the Drive application available on your phone's home screen.
You can also start drive navigation from Maps:
1. Search for the destination.
2. Select the place on the map and its information area at the top of the screen.
3. Select Navigate, and Drive here.

Sorry, I'd like to unresolve this. The workaround mentioned is not a solution.
I travel to loads of places by motorcycle, and going off the beaten track is wonderful. Since I upgraded My E6-00 and C7-00 to a Lumia 920, I'm back to allowing the SatNav (phone) to decide where I go. Boring dual carriageways and bypasses are now my natural habitat - bah humbug. Afterall, the phone is in my pocket (safe from weather), headphones in my helmet - I can't constantly look at a map. Having multiple 'favourites' and planning from one to the next isn't workable. Fair enough the Lumia 920 is usable with gloves on (major plus for a biker, come on you marketing people!) but I don't fancy re-routing all the time by the side of a road.
I'm also planning a charity cycle ride over 100s of miles this Summer, and while that can be done in BikeRouteToaster, Google Maps etc, there is no import function into 'HERE' that I can see. It's impossible to plan a route on the device itself. Yes it can route walker (I can't seem to get turn by turn working for that, but nevermind), public transport and car, I have an option to avoid motorways etc, but cycle route planning needs consideration for height metres, unpaved/paved roads (Google StreetView etc used a lot to find a Sustrans route is actually unfit for road bikes) etc. So.. Importing a route planned elsewhere (gpx, kml or something) would be a real alternative, or a workaround. Asking the device to do its own planning from one point to another really isn't workable.
Please make the Nokia's USP an actual USP again?

How to save a location on Here Maps on Lumia

How do I save a specific location on Here Maps?
I would like to save my current location which is identified by the green halo on the map. Example - I went for the first time to a friend's place and I would like to be able to save this location to my favourites.
On my previous phone which had Nokia Maps you could save a location but I can't see a similar option on the Here Maps. Thanks in advance for your help/suggestion. I am using a Lumia 520.

Nokia Asha 503 Whatsapp problem

I have been frequently asked to upgrade with a message given below -
Expired
This copy of WhatsApp has expired. Please click upgrade to start the upgrade process.
Upgrade | Exit
When I did the last few times all the whatsapp data is gone nothing could be seen, no history.
Is this a virus, trojan, malware, that ware this ware what ware, whatever is it official and how do I do a safe upgrade.
An ofcourse my Nokia Asha 503 is a by large very poor performer in terms of net, fb, whatsapp.
Any help is appreaciated.

What happens if you go to www.whatsapp.com/s40 with your phone's browser? Does it still tell you to upgrade after you download and install the latest version?
