Here one for ya, buttons information still exists, but menu is wrong
Please bear with me, I feel explaining the situation first will be beneficial to seeking help.
Ok, I've been trying to tackle this problem for about a week now. When I simulate my menu in DVD Studio Pro 4.0.3, it works fine as day. But after I build it, it all works except one menu is funky monkey. Here's the layout, there's 4 menus, MAIN, PERFORMANCES, PERFORMANCES_2, and HIGHLIGHTS. The MAIN links to the menus PERFORMANCES and HIGHLIGHTS, the PERFORMANCES menus have a list of individual videos as well as a 'play all' function and HIGHLIGHTS has another list of three playable videos. Between each menu is an animation track that opens and closes each menu.
What is supposed to happen, is a menu, "PERFORMANCES" has a "next menu" option which goes to "PERFORMANCES_2". First it goes through an animation to close PERFORMANCES, then an animation to open PERFORMANCES_2, which happens, but what happens next is my problem. It opens the HIGHLIGHTS menu background, while still correctly linking the 4 buttons of PERFORMANCES_2 (two playable videos, a back to PERFORMANCES menu button, and a back to main menu button). Now, it just so happens that HIGHLIGHTS has 4 buttons as well, however those link to different videos than the 4 on PERFORMANCES_2. The HIGHLIGHTS menu works when you go to it through the MAIN menu, but doesn't work right when it's brought up wrongly in place of PERFORMANCES_2. Lastly, I reitterate it is working right in Simulation mode within DVD Studio Pro. Any advice, the sooner the better, I have a deadline quickly approaching, thanks in advance.
I feel I may have overexplained this, but I assume the more info, the better help I'll get. Again, thanks for your consideration.

When putting this together did you duplicate the highlights menu before changing it to be performace_2?
Try trashing the PAR files for the project, close DVDSP and re-open it. This forces DVDSP to re-parse the assets for use in the project.
Finally, try creating a completely different (and new) menu for performance_2, then linking to it. If this works, delete the current one you are using and go with the new one, adding the background assets, etc that you want. I would also re-name the background asset for the menu (in the Finder, not DVDSP) and import it so that it has a completely different name.

Some contacts have disappeared from my phone. Not all just random ones. They are still in the phone because if someone (who has disappeared from my phone contacts calls me their name appears and if i search in text messages for contacts they are still there - but if i search in phone contacts they are not there, Help!
But once again, I do not want to lose my other texts, app progress, and photos. I could sync the photos but i would still lose the app progress and texts. I would only restore if it was the only option left, but the other space, as already stated, isnt the main concern. The main concern is those 'deleted' texts. If they go, then a good size chunk of the other space goes. I know you CAN delete texts for good. It worked fine before. All i want to know is why its not working for me now, and how to fix it.
I also know that when you delete texts on your iphone, they get marked for deletion, however they stay on your device (thats why they show up when you search for them.) then when you sync your device with itunes, the texts marked for deletion should disappear. When i synced they didnt disappear. Thats what i need an explanation/solution for. Why the texts marked for deletion didnt get fully deleted after the sync. -
I cracked my screen for my touch, it still works but the cracked is big and annoying . I'm still under warranty, will they fix it still?
It works fine. Some of my album covers are mixed up though, not sure its because of the fall. help meIt is very unlikely that Apple with replace your iPod under warranty since the warranty covers manufacturing and design defects. A crack screen is usually not caused by a defect. You can alway make an appointment at ter Genius Bar of an Apple store and ask.

How can one retrieve deleted photos that still exist in a Slideshow?
I deleted a bunch of images used to make a slideshow months ago, (so no time machine) I didn't want these random images clogging my iPhoto.
They still exist in the Slideshow, and I can still zoom them, so they exist somewhere, but Show in Finder options are greyed out.

In order to be able to burn these to a CD that will play on a DVD player or Windows computer, it seems the pictures need to be saved as individual JPEGs
To play on a DVD player you need to use an application that can author such a disk. iDVD if you have it, or Toast. Search on MacUpdate -

Thanks!Yes, it's Java update 16 for Mac OS 10.6 that broke lots of stuff. The 51 comes from it updating Java to 1.6_51. There is an update to the update for 10.7 and up posted, but is there one for 10.6?
UPDATE: Never mind. If you go to the download page for Java update 16, it appears that it has been silently updated. Although there isn't any indication of the fact that it has been fixed, the build number is different (20.51-b01-457 instead of -456). -

the above formula works just fine.... but I want to show the actual start date referenced in nameadd.start date at the end of the text, which grows and shrinks.... but I cannot figure out how to add this, since it keeps telling me it should be a string???

One Function, multiple buttons
I am new to AS3 and AS in general. I know enough that you have to add event listener and create a function to handle when a button is clicked. If I have 4 buttons that I want links to 4 different pages, do I have to have 4 functions? One for each button? Or is there a way to use one function and somehow catch a value that determines which button was clicked and then open the corresponding URL?
I know this has to be simple, I just don't know the answer. Thanks for the help!You can use 1 function to handle all 4 button's clicks. See the example code I provided. To make the code work just drag the AS3 button component onto your movie and delete it from the stage; this will add the Button to the FLA library and make it accessible for use in code. I also attached a FLA of this example to this post.

AddActionListener for three buttons

I'm writing a small program, which, depending upon which button (there are three of them) the user clicks, certain events will happen. This is pretty basic stuff, but I've added code to see when a button is pressed :

one for each button.
which then calls, as a button is pressed :
public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt)
now my question is, how do I get from the ActionEvent object (evt), the button which is pressed? So far all I've been able to find, is the x,y location of the button the call to actionPerformed came from. I can strip the toString version of ActionEvent down, and then parse through it until I find the part I need, but this is a very dirty way of doing it, so I assume there is a much simpler way of doing it.

You could, for example, have one AppleID for iCloud backup [and therefore message syncing, notes syncing, etc] and a second one for iTunes [music, iBooks, etc].

Buttons - making a drop down menu
Hello,
I only know very basic flash. Right now, I am attempting to revamp a website. The buttons that are currently being used are only gifs that are hyperlinked and there are almost 12 buttons... I think that this is a ridiculous amount of buttons to have. It looks very cluttered.
So, I figured I should make 6 buttons and just fit the rest of the buttons into subcategorized buttons. And the way to do this is to create flash buttons with drop down menus. To see what I mean, go to this link and look at their buttons:

So far, I have gone into flash, created buttons and made graphics for the "Up" "Over" "Down" and "Hit". I have also added the menu buttons and graphics for the "Over" of each drop-down button-menu.
I have even provided the action script to link each button to where I need it to go.
HOWEVER, here is where the problem is. When I roll the mouse over the button, and then move the mouse down to click on one of the buttons in the drop down menu, the menu disappears, OF COURSE, because the mouse goes off the hit. I can't make the hit bigger, because the menu shouldn't open unless it's on the main button. But without the hit being bigger, the menu will always disappear.
IN ADDITION, I've never used flash buttons on a website before. I'm just using HTML. How do I link the button to the page? Do I save the file as a .swf flash file? And link to 6 different files? Or do I save the buttons in a line, and just use one link?
I'm on a bit of a deadline so any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
-MichelleWhile I can't help you with your deadline, I can offer a little bit of input. To take a Flash approach you should find a Flash drop down menu tutorial thru Google and follow thru that to gain an understanding of how to construct one. The problem you are having with the rollover stems from needing to extend the rollover such that each element of the dropdown also carries that rollover command. Each button needs to be assigned code to process interacting with it and linking to some other web page. The swf file that you publish would need to be sized for holding the buttons and then must be placed on the web page.
The example you pointed to uses a CSS drop down menu, which you will likely find easier to create and manage if you have no familiarity with how to make Flash work in a web site. I suggest going to the Dreamweaver forum and looking there for information about that approach. -

No, it's done on the computer, it's just done on the web and not through iTunes. I guess you could do it on the iPhone, but it would be easier to do on the computer.
