Here's my dilemma.....

Here's my dilemma.  I have several playlists, some of which contain the same songs.  When I check or uncheck one of those songs in a playlist, iTunes performs the same action in my other playlists.  How do I prevent this?

Periodically, I will change my song lineup in those particular  playlists so I can listen to different songs.
Wannabedren,
Trying to manage with checkmarks is inefficient and ineffective.  Take a little time to learn how to build a Smart Playlist.
In a Smart Playlist you can add a rule like "Last Played" "is not in the last" "X" "weeks."  You can request "Live Updating," which will cause a song to get removed from that list right after it is played, and then replaced by a different one.  That keeps the list constantly fresh with no further action on your part.
You can of course vary the Smart Playlist rules and sources to suit your preferences.

  • Wife sync'd herself into a corner - how can we get her out?

    This is a doozy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    My wife and I recently got Centros and both of us had Palms whose files we wanted to transfer to our new Centros. I managed to pull this off with mine, after much research, but the wife, bless her soul, forged ahead impatiently and managed to first do a hotsync with her old Zire21, then install the new Palm Desktop and do a hotsync - using the same User ID as on the Zire21 - with her Centro. Obviously a no-no. This somehow caused her data in her PC's Palm Desktop to disappear.
    So here's the dilemma: I want to hot-sync the data on her Centro back onto her PC, for backup, but I'm stymied by both her Centro and Zire having the same User ID. Can anyone suggest a step by step process whereby we can get that data backed up and hopefully change the ID on either the Centro or Zire, so that we can untangle this mess?
    Many thanks!

    To get the character you need is hard, it is not an "s" but the last one in the list. Make a new memo and use alt instead. You should see the whole character list then and it should be in the bottom left corner. Looks like a fish on is fins. When done correctly it will disappear. Then check hotsync on the device and if the username is still in the upper left corner you will have to do it again. I had to do this about 8 times once. But it will go away.

  • Post-Crash Login Dilemma

    Hi there -
    Here are my machine specs: MacBook Pro 17" 2.6 2GB RAM running 10.4.11
    Here's my dilemma: I crashed working in Logic Pro 8 but was able to do a clean shutdown. Upon restarting my machine, this is what I encountered:
    Machine boots to login window, but instead of list of users on machine (as was set in my System Preferences) I get a username/password entry and none of my accounts work including root (which was previously correctly configured in Net Info Mgr)
    Here is what I have tried so far:
    -- Repair disk permissions. For some reason I had to do this from a Leopard Install disk. When I tried to boot using the Tiger disk, I got the "top wipe" "Restart Your Computer" grey death screen each time. The first time I used the Leopard disk (an upgrade disk borrowed from one of my employees) it couldn't find a version of OS X. Second time it worked. Disk Utility fixed a lot of permissions but still not able to login. Strange thing is my first name appears in the login window, but my account (including the short name) is my full name.
    -- Confirmed the disk is still intact in Target Mode. As far as I can tell, everything is in place.
    -- Tried to delete /Library/Preferences/loginwindow.plist. Nothing doing.
    -- Rebooted. Held down D for Hardware test. Passed with flying colors.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I had the same thing happen to a number of new Aluminum iMacs in a lab, it was actually happening when the power was being turned off accidentally by the students. Fortunately it was a lab so we just re-imaged the computers and everything is back to normal. If I find anything more specific I will post. I sent a service request to Apple and they said they had never seen this issue. I looked in the discussions and didn't find anything previously so was surprised to find your post. I am surprised no one else has come across this issue.

  • Dilemma

    Ok here is the dilemma im in. My pastor asked me to make a
    website for our church and thats what i did. Lets say he wants to
    edit stuff every sunday like add an announcement or somthing. What
    is the easiest way for him to do that. If i give him the login
    name. What is the simpliest way as he doesn't know much about
    computers. We bought it from hostmonster.com

    i would suggest buying a copy of Contribute and installing it
    on a computer
    he has access to. It's a desktop application, it installs on
    a computer.(i
    think there is a reduced pricing for non-profits, if the
    organization meets
    guidelines, check before purchasing)
    then i'd use dw templates to control where he's allowed to
    edit.
    If the site doesn't currently use templates, I'd do a "save
    as template" for
    each page assuming there aren't a lot of pages. Then define
    editable areas
    in the template, and create a child page from the template.
    This step will
    serve to limit what can be touched by him, keeping him from
    making changes
    to navigation or overall design things.
    there's a trial download of Contribute so the workflow can be
    tested before
    purchasing. The overall "feel" of contribute is a cross
    between a word
    processor and a web browser.

  • Dilemma converting arbitrary encoding to UTF-8

    Here's my dilemma: I recently modified our webapp to use UTF-8 encoding across the board, since data with special characters that users added to the content management backend was being displayed incorrectly in ISO-8859-1. It works great for Strings we get from the database, since it uses UTF-8. The problem now is that there are also files that consist of html chunks that get added to pages when they're rendered by the jsps. Those files aren't always UTF-8 encoded, so characters are displaying incorrectly in those parts of the page.
    The problem is that we don't know what encoding the html chunks are, some are ISO-8859-1, some are Windows-1252, etc. There are hundreds of them, and the users use all kinds of programs to generate the files, Frontpage, Dreamweaver, etc. so there's no common encoding used. I'm trying to modify the code that reads those files so it converts the text to UTF-8 for display, but without knowing what encoding the file is in, how can you do the conversion properly? Here's the code I have currently:
            ByteArrayInputStream contentInput = file.getContent();
            // wrap byte stream in UTF-8 character stream
            BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(contentInput, "UTF-8"));
            StringBuffer outputBuffer = new StringBuffer("");
            do {
                readString = br.readLine();
                outputBuffer.append(readString);
            while (readString != null);We get a ByteArrayInputStream from the third party API, which I wrap in a UTF-8 encoded BufferedReader. The problem is that, for instance, this character '', when encoded in the file as ISO-8859-1, get's garbled when converted to UTF-8.
    My question is: Is there a way to convert text to UTF-8 without knowing the encoding of the file? I suspect the answer is no, but I'm really hoping it's yes, since the alternative is re-encoding hundreds to thousands of files in the db, then retraining hundreds of users to always save files as UTF-8. (You can't see my brain spasming at the thought of that, but trust me, it is ;P).

    As an update, in case anyone else runs into this same problem:
    I used the SmartEncodingInputStream from uncle_alice's link, and it works just well enough to solve my problem. The only encoding that it guessed correctly was UTF-8. But it guessed windows-1252 for US-ASCII, windows-1252, and ISO-8859-1. Since 1252 is a superset of ascii and 8859, using 1252 decodes all the characters correctly from those encodings. All the content I tested with was decoded correctly, presumably because it all uses one of those four encodings. The one snag I hit was that the SmartEncodingInputStream doesn't reset the InputStream after it reads it, so I have to do it manually after getting the guessed encoding. Here's the code I used:
            // Get the file content
            ByteArrayInputStream contentInput = file.getContent();
            StringBuffer outputBuffer = new StringBuffer("");
            // wrapper around the input stream that guesses the encoding of the stream
            SmartEncodingInputStream smartIS = null;
            // use a 8k buffer, and a default encoding of windows-1252
            smartIS = new SmartEncodingInputStream(contentInput, SmartEncodingInputStream.BUFFER_LENGTH_8KB,
                    Charset.forName("windows-1252"));
            String charsetName = smartIS.getEncoding().name();      // get the name of the encoding guessed
            contentInput.reset();       // reset the position to the beginning of the stream
            byte[] contentBuffer = new byte[8192];
            int bytesRead = 0;
            while( (bytesRead = contentInput.read(contentBuffer, 0, 8192)) > 0 ) {
                // encode the output with the encoding guessed by the SmartEncodingInputStream
                outputBuffer.append(new String(contentBuffer, 0, bytesRead, charsetName));
            contentInput.close();I left out the try/catch blocks for readability. I get the ByteArrayInputStream from a library call, and end up with the file contents encoded in UTF-8 in outputBuffer.

  • Concatenating multiple fields dilemma.

    Just started to work with Javascript (2 days) as a result of using Acrobat for generating on-line ordering of membership business cards in PDF format.  That said, here's my dilemma... On the right side of my form the respondent enters all the information they want to appear on their business card, remembering of course that there will be unused fields, ie. they don't have a fax number, etc.
    On the left side of the form there is a template of the card and as they type in their data and it shows up formatted on the card to provide a viewing perspective.
    Using the following:
    if(this.getField("Cell").value != "") {event.value = "Cell: " + this.getField("Cell").value;}else{event.value = this.getField("Cell").value; }
    I have managed to stop the additional text showing up if they don't use a cell, etc. - works like a dream but unfortunately it leaves a gaping hole(s) in the presentation if no data is entered in phone fields.
    What I need is to concatenate all 8 fields into one new calc field that not only puts in a carriage return after each field but excludes the empty ones...  I would appreciate any assistance in this matter.
    Chef Roy

    If you have the distribution DVD/CD there should be a samples directory and the section for the PFN has an example of a function that can process up to 3 fields at a time and adjust for missing or null data strings.

  • Aesthetic dilemma with new MacBook... is it worth my $200 dollars...???

    I have been shopping n saving money to pick up a new MacBook for quite sometime... As soon as I saw the black one at a near by apple store.. I fell in love with it... it looks great and works great... but as I started shopping I noticed something I did not agreee with...
    (side note: I work in a retail store that sells PC part etc...)
    On the website... the macbook in white goes for 1299.99 w/ 80gb hard drive... and there is the same model but in black with a bigger hard drive (+40GB = 120GB) for 1499.99 ...
    Now when i think about this... aside from the color... its exact same MacBook in all its specs... I highly doubt 40GB of hard drive space is worth $200 dollars... here is the dilemma...
    Is +40 gb of hard drive space and a black colored MacBook worth $200? (I can go buy 200GB external firewire hard drive easily for $100 or less)
    To me does it make sense in buying a black MacBook worth paying $125-150 extra dollars?

    I know how you feel, I am the same way. I was spending way too much on my old refubished iBook G3 and decided to get a MacBook... I Was looking at all the prices, and I wanted a Black one, but a new Core 2 Duo in Black was just too much for me to spend. I started looking at the refubs through the Apple Online Store and saw great items at great prices. I went back after taking several days to think it over, and saw that the black CD was gone.
    I kept watch for 3 more days, each time seeing when they added new Refubished Items to the list, and finally one night (right before I was going to go to bed a bit after midnight), I checked and saw a 2.0GHz Black MacBook with superdrive, 80GB HDD and 512MB RAM... I had been about to give up and purchase a white one (1.83 with 60 HDD and possibly even a combo drive only), when that next time I looked the Black was available (and to ship in 24 hours as where the first time I saw a Black one listed, it said 7-10 days).
    I knew the HDD was enough as my other laptop only has a 60GB drive and we have tons of external drives around the apartment (about 1530 GB of space, going by the actual listed size and not actual available space size) and that's not including any of the 6 different computer's Internal Hard Disk Drives (add another 470 GB for that). The Superdrive was what I wanted (though I had bought an External Firewire/USB DVD+-RW for use with my iBook which had CD-ROM only so it was not needed, but nice). The 512MB RAM not nearly enough, but I immediately at the same time as MacBook purchase, went to www.tigerdirect.com and bought 2x 1BG Sticks to replace the 512 with (maxed out at 2GB with the 512 as spare parts now), and that only cost me $200 for the RAM.
    I am so glad I did buy it then and not wait, as it was a great price at $999 plus $200 for RAM from TD = $1199 Estimate... Now, after doing a quick config on this site for a Core 2 Duo black with 2 GB RAM + Superdrive + 120 GB HDD instead of the 80GB, which is the only difference (other than that I actually have 2.5 GB worth of RAM for my money, just can't use it all in the MacBook at once) costs about $1674.
    I think my Extra RAM makes up for a measly 40 GB of HDD space for this comparison, so that the final difference in cost is $475.00 (rough estimate) and that would all basically go towards the cost difference in Core Duo to a Core 2 Duo processor.
    Right now, they have no Refurbished MacBooks at all on the US online Store (they do have MacBook Pros and many other Refurbished Mac Systems and Items), but as I stated above, this constantly changes, and can vary from one day to the next (though I did get my order in *very early* on Saturday morning (was still Friday Night to me) and so even just checking once a week or so, you might find that they have something new and a great deal that just happens to suddenly be available.

  • How can I retrieve my old user account?

    Hi,
    I migrated my old iMac to my new 27" iMac and did it wirelessly via the internet and it took ages. Apple support told me to do it this way because my old iMac is 400 Firewire and my new one only has 800 Firewire and I only had a 400 Firewire cord.
    I was told to choose the no I don't want to migrate when I went through registering my computer. I then got it set up with internet and then went into Migration Assistant. I told the woman I spoke too that it was going to create a problem with my old user account and she said I could just delete it.
    Here is my dilemma. My old user account is called Pink Tuley (which has all my information, documents etc. on it), I created a new account called Tuley and you guessed it it's a shell with nothing there. All my stuff in on Pink Tuley and when I go to MacintoshHD users and locate my Pink Tuley folder there are a bunch of folders that I can't open (they have that red circle with a white bar in the middle of them). How do I make Pink Tuley my main account or get all the Pink Tuley stuff onto my new Tuley account? I hope there is a way to figure this out.

    Niel,
    Thanks that was easy. Now can I go and delete the new user account I created when I first registered this computer? I have a few user accounts from my old machine I don't use, can I delete those also or is it best to leave them alone?

  • Windows 7 no longer boots

    For those that might be able to help, here is my dilemma...
    I have a late 2006 Mac Pro 2,1 8-core 3.0ghz with 7gb ram, ATI Radeon HD 5870 1gb vram running 10.6.8.
    The problem I am having is this. I originally had a 250gb hd that came with my Mac Pro. I installed a second 1tb hd in the second slot for more storage. Then I added a second 1tb hd for a dedicated WinXP installation. Then I added a third 1tb hd for a dedicated Win7 64bit installation. At this point, everything was working just fine and I could boot between OS X and WinXP/7. When I booted into Windows, a screen came up and let me select which Win OS I wanted to boot into, again, all working perfectly.
    So after about 6 months I start running out of room on my original 250gb hd with Mac OS X and decide that Win7 64bit has been running so well that I should get rid of WinXP and swap out the 250gb hd for the 1tb hd for my main OS X hd. I erase WinXP, reformat the 1tb hd for Mac OS X and copy the 250gb hd to the 1tb hd. Then I switch the hd's out and put the 1tb in the #1 slot that originally had the 250gb hd in and put the 250gb hd in the #3 slot. Then I erased the 250gb hd.
    After cleaning out a bunch of font duplications in Fontbook and getting rid of some unwanted startup items, my Mac Pro was running as wonderfully as ever. A few days after the changes, I decided to boot back into Win7 64bit. I held down the option key at startup as usual and selected windows. A few seconds later I get a black screen with an error message saying disk is not bootable.
    I began to wonder since Bootcamp installation of Windows 7 is not officially supported on this early Mac Pro model that by deleting the WinXP installation, that I somehow disabled the Win7 64bit system. So I reinstalled WinXP on the 250gb hd in the #3 slot but now I can only boot into WinXP, still no Win7 64bit.
    If I go to System Preferences>Startup Disk, I can see and select Windows 7 as a startup disk, but it still reverts to WinXP during boot up.
    I am hoping to find out some simple but overlooked solution to this issue without having to reinstall Win7 64bit, since this machine isnt supported, it was a major pain to use the ATI 5870 and get Win7 64bit installed.
    I have documented everything that I have done to the computer between last known working system and the current issues.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Mark

    I could not even get to that window, I was able to select repair or complete install but when I chose repair, a message came up saying I couldnt repair that version of windows. It is the same disk I used for installation and it is in perfect condition.
    Original HD configuration that was working was:
    Slot 1 - original apple 250gb hd with System OS X 10.6.8
    Slot 2 - 1tb hd formatted for OSX for storage
    Slot 3 - 1tb hd with System Windows XP SP3
    Slot 4 - 1tb hd with System Windows 7 64bit
    HD configuration when that I changed:
    Slot 1 - original apple 250gb disk was copied over to Slot 3
    Slot 2 - unchanged 1tb hd formatted for OS X storage
    Slot 3 - erased hd, reformatted and copied files over from hd in slot 1 using Disk Utility
    Slot 4 - unchanged, Windows 7 64bit Ultimate installed now not booting
    I have tried swapping the Windows 7 hd to each hd slot and rebooting (a Mac Pro gets really heavy after doing that 3 times!). Using startup manager, the windows boot option is unavailable. I can still boot into OS X in each placement without issues. I can go to System Preferences>Startup Disk and can see the Windows 7 option and select it. However even if I restart the computer from Startup Disk with Windows 7 selected, it will go to a black screen and say enter CD.
    In case this helps, I had to purchase an original Windows 7 64bit ultimate and then create a new bootable system disk to install on this computer. I tried system repair from both disks and it did not work.
    Im beginning to think that reinstallation is unavoidable, but still hoping that I can find a solution first. The actual installation isnt the major issue, it shouldnt take more than an hour to reinstall and update the video drivers. Its the installation of the programs and having to redo all of the settings on the 4 major programs that I am using that will literally take days. Oh man, somebody must know the answer!!
    Thanks again for the response, I truly appreciate the help

    I have a 3 year old MacBook Pro with MAC OSX 10.6.8, iPhoto ’09 version 8.1.2 and have downloaded two software programs: one is Aperture 3.2 and the other is Photoshop Elements 9 (which I got from a friend who didn’t need it).
    I am totally happy with the way iPhoto organizes my photos and how I can work with iMovie to create slide shows with music from iTunes, etc.
    I have been shooting mostly high resolution jpegs and I continue to learn more and more about photography, post processing etc. I realize that the small adjustments I can make in iPhoto are good, and are adequate most of the time. However, a have started to experiment with shooting RAW images and would like to go the next step, ie. post processing.I am totally technically challenged and need SIMPLE, INTUITIVE programs and am certainly NOT anywhere ready for Photoshop CS whatever!
    After having these programs sit on my computer, I decided to try to see if I could figure them out. When I opened Aperture, this is what first comes up.
    “Welcome to Aperture 3.2
    Your library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of Aperture. Once upgraded, you will not be able to use this library with previous versions of Aperture.
    Upgrading a library from previous versions of Aperture 3 generally takes a few minutes or less, though larger libraries will take longer. After that, Aperture 3.2 will upgrade your library's thumbnails, but you can use the application during that time.
    Tip: To open a different library, quit Aperture and hold the Option key down while starting Aperture
    Current Library Location:
    Jadzia (home)   -----Pictures------Aperture Library
                                                      QUIT             UPGRADE”
    I have heard horror stories  about moving your entire library to Aperture, ending up with 2 libraries, etc. etc. hence my previous reluctance in attempting Aperture. In addition, many of my photography friends are saying: Go with Lightroom 3.....you’ll love it!
    So here is my dilemma.  I don’t want to mess around with my iPhoto library. All I want to be able to do, is to isolate a few photos, export them to Aperture, Elements, and work on them there, then bring them back into iPhoto.
    Can I do this? Should I forget about Aperture and Elements and look at purchasing yet another program like Lightroom?

    Export those few photos via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option with Kind = Original to the Desktop.  Then import them into the Aperture library. That would keep one copy in your iPhoto library and another in your Aperture library to edit, etc.
    You can use Photoshop Elements 9 from within iPhoto as your editor of choice. However, if you edit a raw file in iPhoto with PSE9 the resulting edited version must be saved outside the iPhoto Library and imported back in as a new file.  For editing jpegs just do a Save (not a Save As) and it all will be kept within iPhoto.
    Using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
    1 - select Photoshop or Photoshop Elememts as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
    2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop.  When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
    3 - however, if you get the navigation window
    that indicates that  PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file.  You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
    This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
    NOTE: With Photoshop Elements  the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
    I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.  In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
    Note:  to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu. If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. Then iPhoto will be the default editor and you can use the contextual menu to select PSE for your editor when desired.

  • Can I install both Snow Leopard and Windows 7 on the same version of VMWare 5?

    Even though I am running Apple OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.3 on my new 2013 iMac, I have just installed VMWare's "Fusion 5" so I can have Windows 7 installed on the "Fusion 5, for limited usage needs.
    I also would like to have a running version of Snow Leopard available to run my large collection of original Lynda.com training DVD's and CD's ... which unfortunately, now only allow the Lynda.com GUI player to operate in (and up to) Snow Leopard (at least this is what the Tech folks at Lynda.com have told me).
    Since Lynda.com is no longer producing any or their training programs on CD or DVD any longer, and because they have stopped supporting their training programs to run on Lion and above, I will have to have a version of Snow Leopard installed to run these training programs, and still be able to run them using the Lynda.com GUI player.
    So here's my dilemma:
    1.  Can I install both a version of Snow Leopard OS on my "VMWare "Fusion 5" .... along with a running version of Windows 7 on       the same "Fusion 5"?
    2.  Do I install only the Windows 7 on the VMWare, and find some other "device" to run a version of Snow Leopard off of?
    3.  Do I consider using "BootCamp", in conjunction with "Fusion 5", to get access to both Snow Leopard and Windows 7?
    Has anyone had any experience installing BOTH a previous (older) version of Apple OSX  ... AND ... a Windows OS version on one installed version of VMWare "Fusion"?
    OR
    Any suggestions on how to set up having access to both Snow Leopard and Windows 7 .... while keeping OS Mountain Lion as my main OS?

    mende1
    Thanks ... the "You have to purchase Snow Leopard Server" I knew about, and a few days ago I just ordered a copy from the Apple Store:
    Snow Leopard Server - Ordered at: 1-800-692-7753 ... OR ... 1-866-254-8313
    I asked for Apple Snow Leopard Server (Model MC588Z/A (SLSVR)
    "Unlimited Client License"
    It was around $25.50 (USD) with sales tax and shipping (NYS).
    One thing though ... when you mention:  "you should make two virtual machines".
    Not being too familiar with "Fusion 5" yet, Is setting up "two machine" all done under one installed version of "Fusion 5"?
    Would you have "links" to any "Fusion 5" installation instructions/info for setting up the
    "two machines" (one for Snow Leopard and one for Windows 7)?

  • When I click on picture in Photo Gallery...just blank screen...no picture

    Hi. I have been doing well with iPhoto until I tried to migrate to Aperture. When I migrated to Aperture, I deleted the iPhoto library in Aperture as I read in the tutorial.
    Clearly, I did something wrong. Well, I uninstalled Aperture and will be using that at another time, but for now here is my dilemma.
    Since I migrated photos to Aperture, consolidated them with iPhoto and then deleted...
    now I open my iPhoto and double click on a photo to edit or view...and nothing appears. Just blank screen. The small pics are at the top but it doesn't open to a larger picture. Where are my photos! Help!

    The previews you refer to are the thumbnails in the iPhoto Library - iPhoto creates them when you import a photo.
    Aperture has the ability to trash Referenced Files. If you imported the files to Aperture as Referenced and then trashed them from Aperture, are you sure you didn't also tell it to trash the Referenced Files. This would produce exactly the scenario that you describe.

  • Inserting values from a PL SQL table to a database table

    Hi,
    Here is my dilemma.
    I have values inserted to a pl sql table which I have gathered from a web page. Now I need to add these same values to a database table. I see the values as 1-'AA', 2='BB' etc.
    I use the following code to insert to a outside table in the database and it seems to be crashing.
    for i in app_table.first .. app_table.last loop
    r_convention(i).priority_country_code:=app_table(i);
    insert into test_countries
    values (test_seq,tion(i).r_convention(i).priority_country_code);
    commit;
    end loop;
    WHen I run this code I see the values. But it goes to the first value and then crashes and does not go through the
    rest of the values. What am I missing here?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Why can't you directly insert into the table from the object type....
    for i in app_table.first .. app_table.last loop
    r_convention(i).priority_country_code:=app_table(i);
    insert into test_countries
    values (test_seq,app_table(i));
    commit;
    end loop;Can you give me your complete code, so that we can have a better picture..

  • Should I buy a new Macbook pro?

    So, I've had a 15" macbook pro, (mid 2010) and it has served me well... The hard drive failed, which i got repaired, then the battery has just done that thing where it swells up like a beach ball...
    Here's my dilemma:
    I don't know if i can  be bothered to spend the money to replace the battery, or if its worth me just buying a new one...
    i know someone will say "waste of time, just get it repaired" but frankly this laptop can't really run ANYTHING decently any more...
    So here's the big question: Should i just go ahead and buy the current Top Spec 15 inch macbook pro, or do i wait for the new models that come out later this year?
    Will i even notice a difference?
    I mainly use the computer for general browsing, video editing, audio editing and a lot of gaming... with that in mind, does anyone have any suggestions?
    is it even worth waiting?? will there really be an enormous jump in performance in the new models that i simply cant live without?
    Thanks in advance for the help!
