Here we go again... Install errors
Hello,
I'm going mad about it.
After trying an update (from 10.4.6 to 10.4.9 directly from the dmg, not from software update) I had to re-boot my system and now it's not working anymore.
First of all, I've tried to boot from the Tiger DVD and I've used Disk Utility to repair the HD. It always answers with this error message (i try to translate) "KEY" NOT IN ITS PLACE. After many tries, even in another B&W I decide to format the HD and to re-install Tiger. I tried AltCommand+PR, I did the "reset-nvram" and "reset-all" procedure in open firmware, I reset the PMU and I also left my B&W with no power and no battery.
Then, I started the new installation.
WITH TIGER: installation often hangs when isntalling "ESSENTIAL" or it says "TRY TO REPEAT THE INSTALLATION"
WITH PANTHER: installation sometimes is complete but when I re-boot the "?" appears. Sometimes it hangs and it says to REEBOOT.
I've also tried to mount the original cpu (400 Mhz) but nothing changes.

That is a Disk Directory Error. The best way to clear it is to Initialize the Hard Drive using Disk Utility (this will erase all data). This will write a new Directory that should not have the "Key not in its place" error.
When you are starting over, it is a great time to remove all Bad Blocks from your Hard Drive. If you Initialize with the "Zero all Data" option, it does several additional things:
• Zeroes are written to EVERY Block on the entire Drive (the standard Initialize just writes the first 1000 blocks where the directory usually goes). This takes several Hours!
• Data is read back. Any block which cannot read back without error immediately after being written is declared Bad. A substitute block is used in its place from now on, and the drive makes this change permanently in its Firmware.
• If more than 10 blocks are bad, the process stops and "Initialization Failed" error is displayed. This number may be too low for today's drives, so some users run the process again to spare additional Bad Blocks.

I keep getting and error when I try to start my iTunes. "Apple Application Support was not found. Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, Then install iTunes again. Error 2(Windows error 2)".... I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and the error still occurs!!! This started happening after I installed the 10.3 update
I took the time to research it and come across a couple of people who experienced the same trouble and so I listed some of there steps(with Credits) and some people said that they worked.

1. Save iTunes install file to your desktop.
2. Disconnect from internet.
3. Disable Firewall/Security software.
4. Run install. Note that it installs Application Support and a bunch of other software this time.
5. Run iTunes.
6. Enable Firewall/Security software.
7. Reconnect to internet.
8. Download Watchmen Director's Cut post haste.

2. Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe icon and choose "Open with WinRAR".
3. Once the EXE is opened in WinRAR, double-click AppleApplicationSupport.msi and when the installer window is open choose "Repair".

Try the following Steps:
open activity monitor and close all Adobe related applications
navigate to: /Library/Application support/Adobe
In that directory you will see a folder named OOBE - Rename that folder to OOBEold
Navigate to: MAC HD /Application/Utilities directory
In there you will see a folder called "Adobe Application Manager" - delete it

Open the Cleaner Tool and choose to clean "Creative Cloud" only.

So when I plugged in my iPhone 4 (iOS 7.0.4), iTunes told me it needed to update to the newest version... so I did. After installing it it gave me an error (-45019) that said that a required component wasn't installed. I looked it up and people were saying to unistall iTunes and all apple related software and reinstall itunes which i did. I am on Windows 8.1.
Now it gives me this error. "Apple Application Support was not found. Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please unistall iTunes and install iTunes again. Error 2 (Windows Error 2)." I did this and it gave me the same message... Please help! How do i get iTunes running again?Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.

It says this when I try to open iTunes:

I've tried uninstalling it and installing it several times. I've tried to download Apple Application Support separately but it just says:

You need to repair your computer so it can run iTunes. If you plug those error codes into your browser you may get an answer. -

iTunes would not open, telling me I needed to update to a newer vesion. I downloaded the latest but kept bing met with the error 'Apple Application Support was not found. Like beaniespike and yourselves...I've tried everything to install itunes on my PC Vista Home Premium 32 bit system. Had older version of itunes running well on it but then just bought Ipod and hooked it up and was told to upgrade by uninstalling old version and reinstalling new version..oops..then the nightmares

Disconnected all firewalls and antivirus and even uninstalled them with Revo..
with that effort..I then used winrar to extract to a file and manually install each piece..
all load EXCEPT Apple Application Support..but only if I do it manually..
Quicktime had to be manually installed.
Changed RegSZ to 0xFFFFFF value..still same error An error occurred during the installation of assembly policy 8.0 microsoft VC80. CRT, type =..blah, blah blah..ending HRESULT.... in middle of install..then at end error Apple Application Support not found error 2.
Whew..sooOO frustrated! Have Visual C++ 2005..am having trouble installing upgrades to it..
Windows Installer likes to quit alot..not sure how to fix that..urgh
Want to trash Ipod and itunes all together since finding solution that works for 2 days straight has been in vain!

I have a new iTouch. I'm having trouble downloading iTunes. I keep getting the error message: "Apple Application Software was not found. Apple application support is required to run iTunesHelper. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again. Error 2." I have uninstalled and tried installing again and get the same error message. What do i need to do?
LgInstall 7-Zip (free), or a free trial of WinRAR, and use one of them to extract the contents of the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe installer file, then try installing AppleApplicationSupport.msi as a standalone component. Even if it won't install you may get a more useful error message as to why not.

Launch Photoshop CC 2014 application from C: > Program Files > Adobe > Adobe Photoshop CC 2014.
Once the Photoshop CC 2014 application is launched , click on Help menu.
Select Updates option.
Once the Updates are listed , close Photoshop cc 2014 and Creative Cloud application .
Then click on Update button and try to update . -

Crystal Reports 2011 Demo Install Error
Downloaded the trial of Crystal Reports 2011 today (installer says it is SP2) and it will not install. Searched the forums and the 'net and not finding anything that appears to be applicable to my situation, so here goes:
Windows 7 64-bit Pro SP 1, all updates
Crystal Reports 8.5 and 9.2 installed
Visual Studio 2010 Pro with all updates
RAD Studio XE2 with latest updates
Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010
I run the setup as an admin, Windows 7 compatibility checked, etc. as suggested in other posts.
I am getting a Visual C++ runtime library error "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way."
I get this initially when the installer says "Installing Deployment Unit:" and the unit listed is:
tp.microsoft.vcredist-7.1-core-32,14.0.0.760
I have a screenshot, but the above gives relevant information. If I click OK on the error, I will continuously get it for all other files and then get the pleasure of getting it again when I cancel the installation. We have been considering moving to SSRS, but wanted to give the 2011 Crystal a shot since we have several hundred reports developed in it.

First thing is CR 8.5 is not side by side compatible, so uninstall it. I don't see this causing install issues but just an FYI...
I assume you downloaded it from the Trial version Page then or was it in Service Market Place?
SP 2 is both Full and Incremental so I'll start the download and test also. It may be they linked to the wrong file.
How big was the file you downloaded?
Also, have a look at this post: SAP Crystal Reports 2011: Error INS00140 and other install errors , there may be something going on with one of those MS Kbases causing the issue, or could be something new.
I checked with the PM for Cr 2011 and there should be both incremental and a full build available, possibly they did link it to the wrong one...
