Hey, Apple, fix podcasts!

I notice many people are having the same problem I am with podcasts not showing up on their nanos in iTunes. I too would like to delete some podcasts from my nano, but they are nowhere to be found when my ipod is connected to my computer through iTunes. Yes, of course my ipod is set to synch manually. Yesterday I did find the podcasts in, of all places, the On-The-Go 3 folder (what is that, anyway?). I deleted a few and then, somehow, the folder got deleted. Upshot -- the podcasts are still on my nano. Why can't I delete what I want, and make my own playlists, and control my own darned ipod?

ITs very simple to sing a podcast to your ipod nano. But first off it can only be AUDIO only the ipod nano does not support any video content of any form. Get the larger ipod for that. Also the feature of deleting stufff on the ipod itself should be made at the link below. No apple employees read these forums.

As well this is not the place to compare the ipod with other mp3 players. Go to another website for that.
THese are directions of where and how to sync a podcast to your ipod nano.
1) go to the itunes music store and find a podcast you wish to subscribe to. I like npr so i subscribed to one of them.
2) after subscribing to a podcast the most recent recording will be automatically downloading into your itunes.TO FIND IT. go to the podcast menu on the left column of the itunes application. There you will find the podcast fromw hich you just subscribed.
(remember only audio podcasts can be synced tot he ipod nano.)
3 connect your ipod nano to the computer and after it has synced select the ipod from inside the itunes application and a menu will show. THis menu displays everything on the top is menu bars.
4) select the podcast menu bar.
5) then check the box saying sync podcasts......(this is where it gets very easy for managing your podcasts you can select to sync all the episodes or the 1 most recent or etc.) now for simplicity i selected to sync the 1 most recent episode of the npr podcast which i just subscribed to. I went as for as to check the box that says "selected podcast" and then i selected npr podcast.
6) Press the APPLY button on the bottom right corner within this menu for the ipod. THen wait till the sync is complete.
7) eject the ipod from the itunes menu on the left column
8) Now on your ipod nano select the Music menu> ...then there will be a podcasts menu select that> and in the podcasts menu will appear the podcast that you just synced to the ipod that only a few minutes ago you had subscribed to on itunes music store!!!
(remember only audio content can be played on the ipod nano and not video content of any kind including podcasts.)
ITs that easy!!!!
Now to manage or delete the podcasts that you had already heard that can be done automatically if your ipod is set to sync automatically and not manually when its connected to your computer. Or you can manually sync and select which podcasts you wish to have on your ipod when you sync it. But remember that different podcasts will be updated when a new episode is available on itunes music store.

Didn't they already have you do that? If you haven't, yes, you should restore your phone as new and test.

Restore the phone as a new device. Do NOT restore your backup. See if that clears it up. If it did it with your first phone and the replacement, it's reasonable to assume that you restored the replacement from the backup of the original. If something was corrupt, it would have been contained in that backup, transferring the problem to the new phone.

Hey Apple, look into this as too many posts on too many forums here verifying that the QT movies work with 3rd party browsers but even the latest Safari beta browser is only delivering audio.
ok, so maybe we aren't running intel dual processors, but we are running the latest versions of os X and QT on our PowerPC computers. someone at Apple needs to wake up and just tell us it's our problem since we haven't bought a new Intel based computer or either make a fix.
after reading so many posts in PowerPC forums --> even Tiger forums, and even QT forums about this problem it can't be explained off as "you installed something on your computer that won't let you see video in a QT movie on this official Apple website"
i expect this post to be heavily monitored or even closed for discussion - but doing so won't wash away the problem. just tell us to get a new intel-duo based mac as our older macs aren't up to par or something - or just tell us something like it's a recognized problem on older macs or video will become a problem in QT more and more with older macs.
more and more users like me are left hanging in thinking that we have installed or done something to our older macs that won't let us see video [only hear audio]. yet the fact remains that if we fire up firefox or a 3rd party browser then all works fine.

I have found a better solution that dragging the plug-in to the desktop:
I copy /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/QuickTime Plugin.webplugin into my local directory
~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
And now I can see the videos from Apple website over Safari!
I guess "my" Safari doesn't look into the main directory, but into the local one. It should be the other way around, but at least this fixes the problem more elegantly.
Still, the thing is unclear. A colleague with a new MacBook doesn't experience this problem. His local Internet Plug-Ins are empty, and Safari runs perfectly. Weird!?!?!!?!!

well, you know how it is - glitches that usually resolve with a hard reset etc
then a restore. then a factory restore....then ..... nothing fixes so I try the next step with apple online - fill out my serial number and find it is a couple of weeks out of date - and then with the holidays who has time to get to the apple store? this is my second 4s handset as it is - first one the glass cracked from L to R without any impact/damage etc - they changed it out automatically because it's a 'known fault' apparently - so technically, this handset is only 6 months old - but warranty is from original purchase date -
never imagined it would turn out to be a warranty issue with the phone - and hey maybe when I get a chance to go to the apple store they'll be sympathetic, but I won't be able to get there till at least Jan 4th as it is. On the other hand, another iOS update might resolve the issue - but how long till that release? at the moment I'm having to use my old 3gs for wifi and 4s for phone!!!

Apple -- Fix iDVD to work with MP3 audio! Geez...

For months now, iDVD will not burn a DVD if MP3 audio is used in either iMovie HD or iDVD 6.0.3. Apple, fix this ASAP; it's getting to be a real bore. iDVD is advertised as working with iLife, presumably this meant to include MP3 formated audio from iTunes. So come on Apple, get with the program (no pun intended) and fix this!

I am not sure where the joke is. Rendering and compression takes a good deal of time on any platform. The more compression (going to CD) the more time it's going to take. There was a podcast outlining a HD workflow and some of the trade-offs that were made so that each frame wouldn't take 3 minutes to render (keeping in mind that 60 seconds has 1,800 frames, NTSC). Real time compression cards are available, last I looked starting at the $2,000 range. So there are solutions- you just don't like them and expect Apple to do something about it, presumably within the iLife budget. Me too I suppose. But I don't really think that's going to happen.

Will Apple Fix The Safari 5.0 Crash Problem Ever!!!!!!!

I have had this Sarfari 5.0 crash problem ever since the update has come out. I see hundreds of forum members having the same problem. the forum moderators are doing their best to help them to solve the crashing problems but to no end the crashing problems are still occuring. I have about 10-15 crashes daily. I send all the reports back to Apple after every crash. Looks like Apple would get the message! What it is going to take before Apple decides to fix this problem for good? Hey Apple, how about an update to fix this problem!!!!!!!

If not, then uninstall your current copy of Flash, then reinstall new then repair permissions.
Uninstall Flash
Install the most recent version of Flash here.
Now repair permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

Anyways when I go to it theres a drop-down list and you select the one you want and I know the number next to it identifies the model but the thing is they don't have my model listed so my main question is, what version eg. 2.1.1. or 2.2.1 etc. etc. etc. etc. will work with my model of ipod touch which is the 2g Model A1288?
Does anybody know? Does it work with any firmware thats for 2G ipod touches or do i have to get firmware thats model specific?

Did Apple fix the video quality issue in iMovie '09?

I am a casual video editor and iMovie 08 had the perfect user experience / functionality for what I want to do.
However, the known video quality issue (throwing away interlaced scan lines) made the result unacceptable since I archive our family video on DVDs. I have been forced to use iMovie HD for that reason. I have tried tricks such as converting the original DV files to AIF and deinterlace prior to import into iMovie08 but that did not seem to work either.
So does anyone know if Apple fixed the video quality issue in iMovie '09.
MESSAGE TO APPLE IF YOU ARE LISTENING:
Please fix the video quality in iMovie09 if not already. Yes, the quality is ok for YouTube or Internet video but for those of us who want simple editing to archive our family video we cannot accept poor video quality. Dropping an interlace field effectively halves the vertical resolution. Thank you.

Please explain this in more detail when you say Adaptive Deinterlacer. Are you talking about another program? If so, what program and what are the specific steps.
Also, sounds like you are recommending imovie09. By saying to do the above, are you saying imovie09 still causes you too loose significant quality like imovie08? Are you saying you can use imovie08 or imovie09 with these steps to get high quality video or just imovie09? I guess I just need more specifics on how you do what you are describing and how imovie09 fits into this versus imovie08. I joined this whole discussion trying to figure out if upgrading imovie09 made a difference regarding the whole quality issue. I know it has more features, but I am more concerned about he quality of the video right now. Thanks.

You used the data. Verizon can not see what it was sued for. However your phone can see whats apps used the data. go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle. line the dates up with your cycle. then there will be a bar graph below that extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right. after those are extended below that will be a list of apps, there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

Has Apple fixed the problem with 4G cellular connection on the iPad 3?

Cellular connection problem was for US connection in Houston, Texas. Have an iPad 2 which functions perfectely on Wi-Fi or 3G. Bought an iPad 3 strictly to get the increased speed from the 4G LTE connection. Purchased on with the AT &T cellular. Wi-Fi functions fine, but 4G LTE connection is terrible when it connects at all. Went to AT&T and they said no problems with service in my area, but never get over 2 bars and most times, Web pages load very slow or will hang and not load at all. Went to the Apple store and they said it was AT&T network problem and went to AT&T and they said no problems with their service. Went to the Apple communities forum here and discovered that many people were having the same problems with the 4G LTE cellular connection on their iPad 3's. Didn't seem to matter if it was AT&T or Verizon. So I decided that I would just return the unit and wait for Apple to fix the problem. Hence my question.
