O-Kay, I had to get a replacedment 2gig chip set which seems to work fine=after having to re-boot from scratch&%^$%%! Got what I could backed up to DVD, Now I can't seem to get my back-ups to reinstall corectly? I aint no tech-no-geek, ya unnerstan! I was a commercial fisherman fer ever, but when I see 'back up to disc' I figer Cool, I'll do that! Great! Got all kindsa stuff on back up discs. Now what do I do with em?
Apparently my 'from scratch' re-boot aint as jazzed up as my system had once been, what with all the software updates etc. Have added software up-dates, got photos and music that wont get back to there original place. Whats the trick? If there is oe?

Assuming the behavior you want is that any time you mouse
over an image, it displays that title, and when you mouse out, it
switches to whatever is currently selected ... you are going to
have to use a different solution than what you are currently doing,
since you are changing the current row of your data set every time
you mouse over.
You'll probably need a function like:

Sorry for the public positing, but Apple's forums don't seem to give the option to send a message directly to someone.
Are you still kernel panic free on your MacBook with DVDs? I'm just curious, because you're the only report I have that doesn't seem to have the problem. Tonight I got a chance to try my RAM in a friend's 2.2 SR MacBook and after some work got it down to about 1.2GB of free RAM and sure enough got it to kernel panic on me.
After my logic board was replaced I went back to the Apple store and demonstrated that my MacBook still kernel paniced. The genius started running some X11 stuff and got a full system hang. Mouse still moved, but otherwise unresponsive. After reboot, log seemed to indicate hang due to graphics. I researched the issue a bit and found similar reports of some folks getting kernel panics with a flavor of Unix or linux also caused by the graphics driver with identical log entries as my system hang from X11.
It all seems to point to a driver issue, so I'm trying to figure out how you seem invulnerable.
Thanks!Well - I tried doing what I could to max out memory use. I've got a 2x2GB memory kit from OCZ. Right now Activity Monitor reports 1.15GB free, about 808 MB wired, 1.71 GB active, and about 325 MB inactive. I've got three web browsers active (each with CSTV's GameTracker loaded), as well as assorted Java and Flash ads on each browser. I'm running a high-def MPEG clip on VLC, about 60 photos loaded in Graphic Converter, and have the Office 2008 versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint open. iTunes is also continuously playing.
I'm also playing my Toy Story DVD using DVD Player version 5.0.1. I don't know, but I can't get it to crash. Some of the applications are ridiculously slow (VLC and DVD Player are dropping frames) and the fan is cranking at 6200 RPM. Still - everything is up even though I realize I've probably approached this machine's practical limits. Actually VLC just quit - probably because of all the dropped frames.
I don't know why, but the machine remains up and running. As I quite applications, everything seems to be approaching normal. I'm still using Safari and DVD Player still has Toy Story up. -

A question to Zeb or anyone else who might have the answer to this.
Here's the deal - I want to be able to do a pip live of a timer.
The event starts and the competitor trips the little laser on the course - I want to know what I need to interface with that signal and generate a timer on screen. Start, stop and hold the time til I cut to the next competitor.
Shoot the clock ? - yes I know, I have in the past put a camera on the led readout and done a pip in the mixer - when I've felt bold. It's clumsy - it works but it's not the way to go and fraught with potential danger.Thanks Tom and Zeb -
yes the timer does go to the 100th of a sec and
always starts at zero, so it goes up - it's even more
complicated at times (which is when I choose NOT to
do it) because the events are outside and typically
sunlight comes into play and ALSO they frequently
adjust the angle of the freak'n thing so that the
grandstand crowd can see it better - sheesh
not knowing how extensive your setup that you're using or what sort of equipment, you may want to try one of these little doohickeys http://www.tvone.com/1ttbc.shtml when that scoreboard is in the sun, use the TBC and slam that black level into the stone age while raising your video level a bit as well. another thing that will help is to completely desaturate that signal. if this is a live event, don't worry about the black or white level as the switcher most likely has a built in proc and white clipper to take care of any levels out of legality. if you're getting this package ready for broadcast in post, just throw a luma clamp on clock signal. feel free to email me with any other concerns.
here's another little prehistoric method story that saw lots of airtime. i use to work on a show that darn near everyone around the world has seen a time or two. three online suites, one symphony suite, two xpri suites and 8 media composer suites as well as an army of editors and assistants as well as tape room folks to tend to the 75 plus tape machines of all sorts and flavors. one day i was walking through tape and i saw an assistant friend of mine with a pdx10 shooting the worst ikegami monitor in tape. dumbfounded, i watched and it was a piece that one of the online suites had just layed out beta and now this guy was shooting this horrible monitor on mini dv. not only that he was utilizing the nauseating shakey cam method with mindless yet purposeful zooms. i asked what the heck and he was "degrading the video" so it could be cut into the finished piece; it was "a look."
so, rather than waste time rendering and processing for a look, print to vhs and then reshoot your worst tv showing the vhs. it'll be art and you'll be a creative genius!!

The NYC DOE has set it up so can only use Explorer for budget portal (myGalaxy) & purchasing (FAMIS) https://dfoforms.nycenet.edu/FamisPortal/Login.aspx . I'm a Mac lover but can only get older version of IE no longer supported. Is there EITHER; 1) a way to set it so the above can be accessed from Mozilla; or 2) (& maybe for Mac help) a way to get IE for a Mac? Thanks for all you folks do. (SIDE NOTE: I tried Chrome-some features I liked but it "took over" my whole computer too much so I just use Firefox (+ IE for school work).
You can try using an extension to pretend to the website that you are using IE ([https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/user-agent-switcher/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/user-agent-switcher/] may help), but there are no guarantees, as the website may use ActiveX (which is an IE only format).

sorry for my english!Hey, I have had my intunes soley shut down my computer numerous times, for the past month or so. I realize now it is only within my itunes, but it may not only be itunes. My desktop and a lot of cashed info have been cleared now, as a result of a ton of restarts by completely shutting the power most likely.
I have been too lazy to back up my music because it messes stuff up, and goes so slow it crashes. it will probably work better if I dont even touch itunes and just transfer small parts of my library at a time, not all 120+ gb!
I think a my computer is
a fried
b my files are terribly corrupted
c or my itunes is compromised
either way, i will back up my music, but what do you think the chances are my music is the culprate, and by backing it up I will have the same problem in the future?

Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues with the receiver on your iPhone 4. The following resource may help to resolve your issue:

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Increase the volume during the call.
2. Make sure nothing is blocking the receiver. If you're using a protective case or display film, remove it and try again.
3. Make sure nothing is plugged into the headphone jack or the dock connector.
4. Check the receiver opening to see if it is clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush.
5. Try another location with better signal. If the audio issue happens only when on a call, it could be due to the location.
6. If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or a car kit, try turning off Bluetooth on your device. Learn more about troubleshooting Bluetooth connections.
7. Restart the iPhone.
8. Make sure your device is up to date.
9. If the issue is not resolved after restoring the iPhone software, contact Apple Support.

There were 2000 songs to go through
So I really wanted to have had folders and then the music recorded inside them
So I could get right to where I wanted real quickly

I know we can do it with Nero.1) Go to file, select new playlist. Creat the playlaist.
2) Download your music into iTunes.
NOTE: CHECK 'Recently Added' before you download your music.
If the select boxes has a check in them, turn it off by
holding down the 'ctrl' key and selecting one of the
checked boxes. This shold turn off all the checks.
It would be better to clear 'Resently Add' of all
previous downloads, but I don't know how to do that
yet.
3) under 'PLAYLIST' on the right, select 'Recently Add'.
all of your song should show there with a check in the selection
box.
4)Hold the shift key and select the frist (selete records name),
then the last recorded tune. All of the recordings shouls light
up blue.
5) While holding the 'shift' key, drag one of the records to your new
playlist. All of the blue highlighted song will transfer to the new
playlist. -

I have reason to believe my job is syping on me and i would like to know if there are viruses out there that can infect your Mac without you knowing anything. I believe there is one called "Finfisher".
FinFisher is an extremely high-priced spyware tool marketed to governments and law enforcement agencies. It's very unlikely that your employer would be able to obtain a copy.
Further, at this time, there is no known malware capable of infecting an up-to-date Mac running Mac OS X 10.6.8 or newer. Of course, physical access changes the rules. If your employer has had unsupervised physical access to your machine, they could have done anything.
If they have had that access, and you truly believe that they have done that, there's only one way to clean your Mac up: erase everything and start over from scratch. See:

That certainly seems reasonable. And you should not forget, it's your application, so in the end it will be you who decides what works best for you. You could try a trial and error approach to see which solution fits best your problem.
The problem now is that i have to still check if the
Window which supposed to be displayed, with the table
with the above data in, is active or not?
At the start of the program, it will not be active, so
i will create a new class for this window. However,
afterwards i will have to check if it is visible, and
update the values in the table, or if the
onConditionMet is false, then to stop/close the
window!I may be incorrect, because it's been a very long time since I used any type of GUI, but if you want to update your window, you will have to keep a reference to it somewhere. That reference may help you out, but if it doesn't, you'll probably still need some kind of windowlistener to tell you whether it has been closed etc, no?
