Hey everyone it's not only Quicktime , it's Safari also.

Like others I have been having nothing but trouble with video loading on some web sites since updating Quicktime to 7.2 . I tried the same sites with 2 other browsers , same videos and even others so as not to say " well they were in the cache " and they loaded fine . Went back and tried to load them in Safari , nothing but sound , in others loaded fine .I love Safari but it looks as though I am going to have to spend more money and upgrade to 10.4 just to get the newer Safari 3.0 . Either that or use Netscape 9 ( which I'm using now ) or Opera ( which is good but for some reason now won't load some pages on Apples website correctly but did before. Go figure.

Well with Safari it wouldn't load like the commercials on Apple's site ( the mac commercials) it would only load the track bar at the bottom , would have audio but no video . Loaded fine with Netscape 9 and Opera ( Opera was the one not loading right on some of the pages on Apple.com . It is like the widow is normal taking up the screen but the contents would be like squished to like only 2 inches of space . Really weird. ) All this happened after updating Quicktime to 7.2 . I have found that if you go into the main Library then locating the quicktime web plug in folder and deleting it solved the problem . Rebooted and everything with Safari works fine now.

How can I sort bookmarks within a folder by date such that this is apllied not only in the library but also on the toolbar?

I have several folders on my firefox toolbar which I use to sort new bookmarks by topic. If I add a new bookmark to a folder it is alwas placed at the bottom (below existing bookmarks) which is somewhat annoying with a increasing number of bookmarks. I would like to have the bookmarks recently added at the top of the folder (above existing bookmarks).
It's no problem to sort them this way within the library. But back at the toolbar everthing remains the same. The only option that seems to work here ist 'sort by name'.
Is there any way to sort the bookmarks by 'date added' such that new bookmarks are placed on top and this is applied also outside the library?

I do not think there is a way to do that without add-ons
There are a couple of workarounds I am aware of
* Add the bookmarks manually in the bookmarks library and choose the position. That is using Show all bookmarks -> open required folder -> select a position and right click -> add new bookmark <br />Rather a slow and clumsy process
* Sort a folder and copy it. If you sort the folder contents then copy and paste them they remain in that order when pasted.
There are add-ons but I have not tried them. For example

There will be others available and take note of the advice to backup bookmarks manaully.

My computer was stolen, I had all my music library there. I had it sync with my iPhones. How do I get my song form one of my phones to my computer without loosing them? I have songs not only purchased on iTunes, but also from CD's I've got rid of already

My computer (Dell, Windows system) was stolen and therefore I lost all my iTunes library (music). I still have my songs on my iPhones, but I'm scare of conecting them with my new computer (MacBook Air) I bought as all my information including my songs can get deleted! Is there a way to avoid this?

I spent half the morning and thus far this afternoon working on a Firefox problem and have only managed to screw it up so bad that when I try to access a web page containing a .pdf file it not only downloads the brochure but also dozens (literally dozens!) of zero-killabyte page images to my desktop. I have tried trashing Firefox and downloading fresh versions but I still get the same results. I have tried to find and trash the Foxfire preference pane, thinking that would solve the problem, but haven't been able to locate it.

You have Acrobat Pro on your system. It will try to open PDFs, and of course it will fail. You must uninstall it. Then, you will need a PDF reader. So install Adobe Reader. That seems quite simple, but perhaps something is wrong. If anything goes wrong with these two steps (1) uninstall Acrobat Pro (2) install Adobe Reader, then please let us know the details.

Can Java reflect not only .Class file

Hi' i'm newbie in this topic, i'm really appreciate if somebody can help me..cos i'm really stuck in here...
My Problems are :
1. i want to ask about this, can Java reflect from .java file?
2. i'm using Eclipse IDE, i'm really interesting about how JTree or Package Explorer in Eclipse can always displaying update information about class structure? but .java files not compiled, how can? if Eclipse using reflection, .java files must be compiled first, correct me if i'm wrong?
The fact is Eclipse don't have to compiled .java files to get the update information about class structure and displaying in JTree or package Explorer...how implement like this?

ex : if i type int x = 100; (not only int, it could be anything else..) at the working files, JTree or Package Explorer in Eclipse can always update the informasion about class structure, but .java files not compiled..

1) Eclipse performs background compilation of the Java sources, then performs reflection on those temporary classes++ if i'm using this way, how about the performance? seems that it will be compiled all the time right?
2) Eclipse has access to the results of the Java source code parser, and can extract the information from the java syntax parser, before it gets to the compilation stage.++ how to implement this? what do you mean about java syntax parser?
do you know where i can find any article about this?

I experienced the same issues with Safari not displaying Quicktime video windows. I couldn'e even watch the instructions for Apple programs from the learning center in .MAC.
Solution: Find your Tiger installation disk and reinstall Tiger OS X. Remember to select "archeive & install and don't wipe out your hard disk. And last but not least, run software update and then go watch a baseball game because this will take awhile.

Browsers do not see Quicktime in Windows 7 64bit

I have Quicktime 7.6.6 installed on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. However, none of the browser recognize it. When I go to web page with Quicktime, it asks me to download Quicktime as if it is not installed. I did uninstall and reinstall it, nothing change.

Safari 6.1 on MacOS 10.8.5 not play quicktime movies

Trying to view quicktime movies in Safari brings up the Quicktime Q graphic with a big question mark. Safari->Help-> Installed Plug-Ins includes:
QuickTime Plug-in 7.7.1
The QuickTime Plugin allows you to view a wide variety of multimedia content in web pages. For more information, visit the QuickTime Web site. — from file “QuickTime Plugin.plugin”.
in the list of plug ins and the /Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder does have the file "QuickTime Plugin.plugin".
I have tried downloading the older Quicktime Player 7.app and then rebooting the computer and I still cannot view the Quicktime movies in Safari. I can view the quicktime movies in Firefox (version 24.0).
I have also deleted the items in the Library folder:
Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Preferences/com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist
Preferences/QuickTime Preferences
rebooting and relaunching Safari all with negative results.
All of these have been suggested by people in previous postings dating back to Fall 2012 or earlier, so I'm out of ideas.
Is there anything else I should try?

Well, this was on webpages I had created as lecture slides for my classes. I've just discovered that Safari acts differently if I view other websites than if I view webpages on my own computer's harddrive. If I put an example page on the webserver

and bring it up in Safari, I can see the quicktime movie in Safari.
When I view the same webpage (s3test.htm) that has the quicktime movie embedded in it on my local harddrive, Safari displays the shaded Quicktime logo with the big question mark.
Why Safari should care whether the webpage is on some webserver vs. having the same file and graphics on the local computer harddrive is beyond me.
Since all of my lecture slides are webpages I have created, I'd like to know what hooks or coding I now need to put in the html to get Safari to display the movies in my lecture slide webpages on my local computer's harddrive.

That code works just fine if I put the s3test.htm + circS10.mov quicktime movie files on the www2.bakersfieldcollege.edu webserver (or any other webserver), but it does not work if the files are on my local harddrive. Firefox works fine either way.

If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:

How to control audio-only QuickTime movies

I would like to be able to use the QuickTime controller to play an audio only QuickTime movie. I've read in this forum that hovering the mouse over a QuickTime movie is supposed to bring up the controller, but it isn't working for me. I've imported the movies (I have three on one slide) by both Insert > Choose … as well as dragging from the Finder. Afterwards, I get the speaker icon. When I play the show, the speaker icons don't appear.
Having the ability to be able to repeatedly play a .aif, .wav., mp3 sound would be nice as well, even if it is just start from the beginning and play.
Additionally, I'd also like to be able to play a movie by clicking on a movie, but I haven't found a way to do that. Perhaps it is not possible.

there's no sound that will be played by that code. and there's no code about a netstream instance.

Quicktime only plays sound in Safari

When I open a Quicktime file in Safari the only thing that comes up is the sound-file bar. I have checked that Quicktime file should play directly i Settings. This problem started after an update of Quicktime some months ago.

You can trash the file from your Desktop.
A new one will be made the next time you update QuickTime and it may fix your issues. If not, you know where to look for a quick fix.

the serial number will not help you find it, but you can give it to the police so they can reference it, if they find an ipod that they suspect is stolen.
