One of my clients asked me to recommend Hardware Infrastructure details for the following load/traffic
1.Development Environment: 100-300+ concurrent connection (Work station connections)
2.Prod Server : 20,000+ End user concurrent connections (web connections)
Recommending amazon services is good option?

Because all information I saw it´s about Server (Database, Server Application and others) and not very clever about P6 8.2 Client and P6 8.2 Web.

I haven't seen PC requirements for a Win workstation per se either. Here are the only 8.2 client requirements I can find.

Hard drive expansion expert needed! - recommendations?

Hello-
I have a Powermac Dual 450 with a 120Gb Seagate drive and the original 40 (30?) Gb drive. I would like to add a second larger drive to create a mirrored backup using CCC or Superduper!. I see a few options, and ask you all what is the best choice:
1. Pull the 40GB drive and add another 120GB - the 40 is rarely used, and data could be transfererd to a 2.5 external drive.
2. Pull the 40GB and add a 200GB drive (which is now CHEAPER than the 120 at Circuit City - $50 vs ~$100), knowing that only 120 will be recognized - does this affect performance? Will the drive revert to 200GB in a newer machine in a few years?
3. Can I add a 3rd drive to this system, keeping the current 120 and 40??? Not sure from what I have read on line.
4. Go with an external enclosure - do I have to max at 120GB with this, or can I go higher? Since the internal is 120, I don't really need much more. Any advantage to the external over internal - speed? Seems a bit more $$. Easier for someone to walk off with the external than the whole computer too!
Enclosure recommendations?
5. Something else I haven't considered?
Right now I am leaning towards #2 as it is a $50 solution, but wonder about #4.

when you sleep the computer the external should go to sleep , i got a problem though on my powerbook G3 233Mhz and the external sometimes stop the comp starting after a long sleep so i have to restart, but i haven't tried yet with the G4, so far i don't remember having problems with my Imac G3, i think it depends .
But when you shut down the comp then switch the external off but don't forget to start it up first before starting the comp back as the desktop still got the ex on it!!!
When you want to shut or unplug the ex you always heve to eject it first to get it off the desktop and save your data from moss.
if you set the computer to back up your data (eg.index) the comp should wake and start the script!!!
As far as speed with external or internal is a simple fact. Internal goes faster, but with a good processor it doesn't show much the difference to your eyes, it's stay at a good rate for the ex, the ext as the advantage to be able staying away from troubles . I mean you can always plug it in on another comp and use your datas rather than the inter might have more hardware troubles since it is plug straight onto the motherboard and else!!! it's always better to have an external to keep your data safe and back them up so clean ones are more likely to be on the ext than the inter in case of hardware problems or damages.
Get one that 's all I can advise you. Also i use Techtool Pro which help me keeping my data safe.

New to Programming, need your help with writing code for java in Xcode.

Hey everyone! Sorry if I sound like a total idiot here with a bunch of developers but I could really use your help. I am in college and having a bit of problems with my intro to programming class. The class is entirely Java based and so, after having to use dos windows on my grandpas crappy laptop I found out about xcode. I downloaded and installed it but I am having problems seeing where exactly it is that I am to write my code for a normal java application. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I wrote it on the bottom of a bunch of code that looked strange to me. For relatively simple java programs I chose the java application template. Is there something here that I missed?

The Java Application project template looks like it sets up an application and some kind of starting UI using Swing/AWT. I didn't look at it too indepth, but if you are in an introductory course this might be more than you need to complete your assignments. There doesn't seem to be blank Java template, so I don't know what you should use. Perhaps just a blank project you add your .java files to.
To answer where to write code, you would write it in your .java files under the /src folder. Execution begins in
public static void main(String args[]) {}
in YourAppName.java, then creates an object based on your application class, and runs the code from there to display the UI.

Before i discuss with implementation team for hardware , i need advice on best hardware configuration for Orco (Oracle retail central office) and Sim

Experts,
How to calculate the hardware requirement for using CE7.1 for the development purpose? Do you have some parameters or guidelines for it?
We will be using CE7.1 for the development of EP contents, Web dynpro, Web services and Guided procedures.
We need to calculate minimum hardware requirement for this purpose, but could not find the authorised document from SAP.
I searched in the SDN. It is available for NetWeaver 7.0 but not for CE7.1.
Any hints will be highly appreciated.

I was able to use MS Visual Studio 2005 and OCCi classes. There is a catch though, I was not able to use the debug library dll as it will crash. So I was not able to debug any code using the VS debugger, instead, I use the old and lengthy process: insert printf statements.

I need your expert opinion on how to create a map with multiple conditions.
I have a procedure (which i cannot import or re-create in OWB due to the bug), so i am trying to create a map instead :-(
How can i create a cursors within the map?
My function creates table and cursor.
Then it will have to check for duplicates in the tables (the one created and another table) - the criteria for finding duplicates is a number of fields.I then need to place few different conditions (if some attributes are not available) and it has to load cursor based on this conditions. The next step is to fetch the data into the cursor based on what attributes are missing.
The next thing it will do is insert the data into table (if record doesn't exist), output the error in separate table is record is corrupted, or update the record with changed information.
In short i need to re-create match / merge but with conditions, iterations etc 'built into' it.
I can read up on available functions - it's just what would be the best options? and what would be the best approach to do so?
In my function i use %rowtype - but cannot use it in owb - so what would be the alternative? i don't really want to create a lot of variables and then have a nightmare of maintaing it. are there any tips regarding this?
having looked through Oracle dedupe - it's not really what i need because it is just DISTINCT.
I would appreciate any help / advise on this.

it is a bit more complicated now as i have to re-create the match / merge and then somehow 'tweak' it to achieve the result i need.
At the moment i am looking to breakdown the package into smaller chunks 'functions' and try creating the map that way.

This is no different with any carrier locked phone. Getting a carrier locked phone officially unlocked is the responsibility of the carrier, not the cell phone manufacturer. A cell phone manufacture cannot unlock a carrier locked phone without the carrier's authorization.
An iPhone sold as officially unlocked when new can be used by others as a second hand phone, and the same with any carrier locked iPhone that can be unlocked by the carrier, and many carriers offer it.

Weird Hardware Issues - Need Your Advice

Hello.
I'm having this weird issue lately, and I was wondering if anyone can help.
First, I have a Pentium 4 3.2Ghz HT Presscot CPU, 512 MB RAM and an nVidia GeForce FX5200.
The problem:
I often leave my machine on overnight. When I wake up and get to the machine, I can see that X is using 50% CPU. When I move the mouse, I can see that it reacts very slowly to mouse-over effects. Then when I click a window, or try to access the keyboard, X pretty much freezes, and it loses touch with both the mouse and the keyboard. The only resort is to press the Reset button.
When I do so, my machine does not really reset - It gets stuck even before the BIOS screen comes up.
What I do then is I need to shutdown the computer, wait for a few minutes and turn it back on. When I turn it back on and it actually start working, I get a message from my BIOS, stating that some "overclocking failed". It then asks me to either load the default BIOS settings or to reconfigure the BIOS myself. When I choose the load the default settings, it carries on to GRUB and it's all good.
The cause (what I think, that is):
I think the cause for this is the CPU. My CPU runs at very high temperatures, for some reason. Now my computer is idle, and according to lm_sensors it runs at 68C now. When I came to the machine this morning, lm_sensors showed it was running at 81C.
The thing is I am pretty clueless as far as hardware is concerned. Can that be the reason for it all? What causes X to suddenly go berzerk with its CPU usage?
Any ideas and suggestions would be welcome, as I am pretty clueless.

open the case make sure all fans are spinning
clean all dust & pet hair if you have a pet
i dont have a pet but i do clean the inside of my box like once a year or more
remove fan housing from heatsink on processor clean all dust between fins
if you dont have one or do consider putting another case fan in there
at one end machine blowing out the other end blowing in to circulate frsh air into box
does your pc sit inside a cabinet? maybe a wood desk cabinet, wood absorbs heat
while the inside of your pc circultes air if inside a cabinet with the same air trapped inside
the pc is only circulating the same air this is only one possibility for your issues but its the 1st place id look
for heat issues
& from what your telling me
81 degree Celsius = 177.8 degree Fahrenheit
i think 212 degrees is boiling , you could damn near cook your meals in a machine that hot
i leave my pc on almost always i have not turned it off in some time & im running
30 degree Celsius = 86 degree Fahrenheit

According to your description, you need some hardware recommendations for deploying and maintaining a SQL Server Analysis Services cube, right?
Though this isn't a sizing recommendation, I'd encourage you to buy as much memory as you can afford. This is generally the choke point I've seen on servers, especially when using SSAS. For the detail information about it, please refer to the links below.
