If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. You must use the previous owner's password to get permission to use the device. If you cannot get the password your father put on the iPad you will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.

  • How to delete an old iCloud account after changing Apple ID

have changed my Apple id which half worked.   But iCloud on the iPad still linked to old ID  - and can't sign out without giving a password that no longer exists.

    Hello Dun2015,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’re running into an issue signing out of an iCloud account on your iPad Air because the password that you’re entering isn’t accepted. Try resetting the password for that Apple ID as shown in this article:

  • How do I change an iCloud account on an iPad?

My iPhone and iPad use 2 distinct iCloud accounts, as a by product of the mobile me exit. Now I want to sync these 2 devices, so they need to use the same iCloud account. When I start to change the iPad account, I receive a dire warning that all data in iCloud and the iPad will be lost if I proceed.
Is the warning untrue, or am I misreading it, or am i going about this incorrectly? How should one change the iCloud account on an iPad to another existing iCloud account? Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

It does delete it from you iPad but not from the iCloud account.  If you want to migrate the data to a different iCloud account first go to Settings>iCloud on your iPad and turn all synced data to Off, when prompted choose to keep the data on your iPad.  When everything is turned off you can scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Then set up the other iCloud account on your iPad and turn syncing back on for contacts, calendars, etc. When prompted choose merge to upload the data and merge it with any data on this account.

  • HT4623 How can I change my Icloud account on my ipad to the one I use on my iphone?

How can I change my Icloud account on my ipad to the one I use on my iphone?
For example on my iphone I log in with a yahoo account.  My ipod was originally set up with another e-mail account (which I can't remember the password).  I want to use the yahoo e-mail and the password associated with it to log on to both devices.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

  • 3 ipad uses 1 apple id and 1icloud account, how can i make different icloud account so each ipad will have more icloud space?

3 ipad uses 1 apple id and 1icloud account, how can i make different icloud account so each ipad will have more icloud space?

All 3 iPads will have to share the same 5GB of free iCloud space. Buy more space if necessary.
Suggest you give different name to each iPad to prevent confusion.

  • How to delete an existing Icloud account?

I am using Ipad Mini Retina.
I want to delete an existing ICloud account that made in the very first set up of my Ipad. I cannot remember the password of this ICloud account.
I am now using another Apple ID.
My Ipad when updated into iOS8, always ask me to key in the password for the old ICloud account, this is very irritated.

If the old Apple ID keep popping up maybe because you have apps that uses that Apple ID.
You need to delete those apps and re-purchase them again using the new Apple ID.
Note: Content bought using an Apple ID cannot be merged or transferred to another Apple ID.

  • How do I remove an iCloud account from an iPad?

My aunt set up my grandmother's iPad and used her iTunes/iCloud information.  My grandmother wanted to be able to buy things from the store so I created an account for her with iTunes, but I can't figure out how to remove my aunt's Apple ID from the iPad.
I need to back up her information to the iCloud so she doesn't loose the information and apps before I can reset her iPad, but right now I can only back it up to my aunt's account which would put me right back where I am now.
Thanks for any assistance you can give.

Thank you so much for your fast response! We were worried that deleted my aunt's iCloud account from the iPad would delete it everywhere and she would loose her information.
I don't have an iPad so I was flying blind.

  • How do I activate my icloud account from my iPad

How do I activate my icloud account from my iPad

Settings/iTunes and App Store log out then log in with new ID.  you might want to change ID in iMessage, FaceTime and Siri and delete the cloud account and create one with new ID.  remember apps are forever linked to the ID used to download them and can only be updated with that ID

  • How do I change my icloud account on my ipad?

I need to change my icloud account on my ipad without losing any data or  photos. How do I do this? At present my ipad is backed up to my ex partners icloud account, can he access my ipad remotely?

Only speaking of backup and not information that you sync/stream to his icloud.
Depending on maliciousness of his intent and determination he/she can know nothing or everything. By everything I mean that he/she can restore his/her ipad from your backup.
In one hour of time he/she would have access to device that would be exact mirror of what you had in your hands at time of backup. With some luck he would know as much as you do looking at your ipad right now. If you using icloud keychain he/she would have access to your credit card numbers.
    Not speaking about backup anymore.
If he/she wants your device can be wiped at any time, as long as he/she is still signed in. He can also enable lost mode on icloud website and then even if you have paperwork that ipad belongs to you, nobody can help you to use ipad. (that is if you use ios 7). Good luck.

  • How to delete somebody else's iCloud Account from my iPad Air?

    Hi,
Recently I have bought an iPad Air on a eBay-like site. There the seller said that the item was new but when I chacked the serial number, the device was  already  registered since January. Regardless ths I reset it, created an Apple ID for me and started registering the things under my name. When it came to iCloud, I have  found that all my data was been transferred to somebody else's iCloud account. I tried to delete this account to put mine, but for this it  requires the password of this other user.
I have contacted the seller, who informed that in fact he didn't know about it because he only won it and decided to resell it, but promissed to investigate and try to resolve it, but in fact I guess I cant cound so much on it and I'm pretty dissapointed and  lost with this  situation. Do you  guys know what I could to remove this account?
    Thanks in advance!

You will not be able to find the previous user in any Apple database. They wouldn't share that information with anyone as they would be violating privacy issues - unless of course they were directed to do so by a court order.
There is just something that bothers me about this whole situation and I feel for you, but I would also hesitate to email somebody that I didn't know about asking him to erase his iCloud account. How the iPad could go from one owner to another owner and now to you, without being erased, just gives me a bad feeling, but that's just how I feel about it.
I guess though at this point, you know worlds more about him than he knows about you if you have his name and email address.

  • How to delete an old Icloud account without the password??

I have three devices, iphone 5, 4 and IPAD.  I recently changed my appleID,  and all three devices have the same apple ID (I logged into apple using an apple ID and revised the apple ID and updated my password).  The problem is that the icloud account will not display my new appleID, only the old appleID, the appleID displayed  can’t be selected or edited.  1) The devices will not let me delete the account(s) without entering  a  password, but my apple ID password is associated with new appleID, not the old one. Question: How can an old login be removed, deleted or revised from Icloud when it no longer exist??

If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Repeat this on your other devices.  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • HT4865 How to delete the preowner icloud account without knowing the password?

How to delete icloud account from pre owner without knowing the password?

II'm in the same situation. Purchased a refurbished IPhone 5. I had to do a factory reset and when I reset it again, itunes tells me that the phone is linked to someone else. Called the company I bought the phone from and they say iTunes can do a master reset to link my iTunes account to the phone. Have any of you heard of this being possible?

  • HT5622 How to delete Apple and iCloud accounts...???

There is a problem with iPhone 5.
Seems to be a design or manufacturing fault, phones made circa late 2012/2013. Note - my phone and several other colleagues too.
On the basis of Apple ignoring faults with iPhone 5 (over 30% calls dropped or missed on my phone - including a replacement from Apple), I now want to delete
my Apple and iCloud account. But I cannot see how this is done form the Account.
    Any advice please? Thank you.

The Frequently Askled Questions about iCloud are found at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4436 where you can link to managing your account.
An Apple ID account cannot be deleted/terminated...you can only stop using it and let if fade away.

  • How to delete 3 existing icloud account from iphone

Hi from my last queastion i got ans from "pvonk" that i have reached max 3 icloud account limit on my iphone.
Is there any way that i can delet thost account are reset icloud account count on my iphone.
i bought used iphone. so i dont know remaining icloud account or thier id-password.
If i took backup of my phone on itunes. will i able to retrive backup from my pc to my iphone without updating it. If yes please suggest best way to reset my iphone. and I DONT WANT TO UPDATE MY IPHONE TO 6.1.3 OR iO7.
    Please Help.

To do this on someone else's device that already has an iCloud account without them losing any data do the following:
First have them save any photo stream photos that are over 30 days to their camera roll by opening the my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.
Go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, and choose Delete from My iPhone (iPad, iPod).  Their iCloud data will still be in iCloud and will reappear on their device when they sign back in.
Go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your Apple ID to create your new account.  Do not turn on any data syncing with the account and do not choose Merge with iCloud as you do not want to merge any of their data with your new account.
Tap Delete Account to delete your new account from their device, then have them sign back in with their ID and their iCloud data will reappear on their device.
You can then go to Settings>iCloud on your device and sign into the new iCloud account that you just created.
