Hey, I have $2350-2400 and I want some proper guidance for the macbook pro

HEY!!!
Guys I will try to make this as easy as possible!
First let me tell you I am 15, I love graphics, music and literature and I have no credit card, my iTunes account has no money, I'm using an account that doesn't require credit cards! So (ugh) I buy all the free apps
Anyway
Dad gave me $2400 to buy a macbook pro and keep the change but since I live in Italy, I have to convert them to Euros.
$2400-1821 EUR
So I came up with 2 conclusions and I just want some opinions on which is the smarter decision.
Well apparently there are 4 types of laptops I can get right now from the macs.....
to make this as simple and as easy as possible (and to show off my ICT skills ) I made a table which includes
1) the laptop mentioned
2) the price in dollars (which I got directly from the apple store in the US)
3) the price in euros (which I got directly from the apple store in Europe)
Macbook Pro Kind
Price in dollars
Price in EUR
13-inch: 2.5GHz
$1119.00
1249.00 EUR
13-inch: 2.9GHz
$1499.00
1549.00 EUR
13-inch: 2.5GHz with Retina Display
$1499.00
1549.00 EUR
13-inch: 2.6GHz with Retina Display
$1699.00
1749.00 EUR
But you can install somethings on to your laptop right there in the shop and I wanted two things,
1) pages: I thought would help with my writing because I write poems, novels, stories, etc
2) numbers: this program just deals with spreadsheets and charts and just the mathematical area and thought that this would help when doing A levels and GCSE math
3)keynote: This is basically like power point and it just makes presentations.
each of these programs are 18 EUR
One more thing, since I am planning on using this laptop for several years, I change  changing countries often and so the laptop can come with an adapter that works in both European and American countries
But thats 80 EUR
The laptop (the edition i want) is 1749 EUR
that means with all these additional stuff
I calculated it on the apple store
1749.00 EUR + 18 EUR + 18 EUR+ 18 EUR 80 EUR = 1883.01 EUR
If we were in america then according to the website's store
$1699 + $19.99 + $19.99 + $19.99 + $79.00=  $1847.96
I'd be buying the SAME amount of things in the States for $1847.96 and I'd have 552 dollars change but in Italy everything would cost 1883.01 EUR which is the equivalent of $2481.61 which is more expensive than the US!
BUT
You have to consider the fact that this is with all the additional costs
The additional things I thought I'd need
If I said "no just buy the laptop"
then the correct price in dollars is $1699
the correct price in euros would be 1749 EUR
the laptop only. No extra features.
1749 EUR in Dollars would be $2305!
Exactly $2305!
That means I would only have had 95 dollars difference.
Anyway the bottom line is all these additional things that I was talking about, the softwares and everything, they're going to help me in the near future, not RIGHT now.
So what I can do is just buy the laptop and then as I progress in to year eleven, slowly by slowly, I can start buying the softwares.
I'm sorry I'm unburdening ALL these different information on you, but I just wanted to approach this from as many angles and be as aware of all the variables as possible.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
(THIS IS THE CONCLUSION)
OPTION ONE
Buy the 13-inch: 2.6GHz with Retina Display Macbook Pro for 1749.00 EUR including all the additional features (the three softwares and the adapter which together have the total value of 134 EUR)
Therefore the total amount of money we'd be spending is
1883.01 EUR
That means the total cost of everything would be $2481.62 and I'd get no difference
OPTION TWO
Buy the 13-inch: 2.6GHz with Retina Display Macbook Pro for 1749.00 EUR and then when I am 16 or 18 I buy these softwares with a credit card and apply them for my A levels later.
That means the total amount we'll be spending is
1749.00 EUR
Which is $2305
I will have $95 (72 EUR) pocket money.
(BY THE WAY, MY PARENTS WORK FOR THE UNITED NATIONS AND DON'T PAY VAT OR SOMETHING AND SO WE KIND OF SOMEHOW GET A 20% DISCOUNT SO THE PRICES WILL BE A BIT OFF AND CHEAPER.... I JUST CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO DO ALL OF THE CALCULATIONS BUT YEAH.....................)
Thanks for reading
Please reply ASAP I'm buying the mac extremley soon.....

Never heard of .MOD format, but generally VLC player will play most any format.
It's free, open source so no harm in trying:

I had a PC and now I have a MAC and I want to download my Adobe Acrobat XI Pro to my MAC

    Hi ndhsearch,
I tired looking up your account using the Adobe ID/email address that you use here in the forums. I don't see any Acrobat purchases tied to that Adobe ID. Did you make your purchase or register Acrobat using a different Adobe ID? If so, please log in to www.adobe.com using that Adobe ID, click Manage Account, and the click Plans & Products. Your registered products should be listed there.

  • How will an external Hard drive designed for the macbook Pro work with my White Macbook?  My  white macbook has a Firewire 400 and the G-Tech HD has a 800 to 400 compatible cable for the firewire.

I am asking this because I want the G-Tech Hard drive  says that it is designed for the macbook pro.  Yet, I want to back up faster with by using my firewire 400 which is not an option on the one designed for the white macbook that does not have a firewire (only a USB port.)  The G-Tech Hard drive comes with the 800 to 400 compatible cable and has 5400 RPM with 750 GB.  Also, I've heard that laptops with low battery (mine all the time)  won't have the power for a bus powered Hard drive (as in no ac plug in adaptor.)  Can I just plug in my laptop?  Any one know the answers from experience with this hard drive?

As far as I know, if a harddrive works with a Macpro, it should work with the Macbook: if your Macbook is low on power, plug in the AC adapter
If your Macbook has a firewire port, then it should be fine. BUt i would do somemore research first.

  • Does anyone know the difference between the Applecare Warranty for the Macbook Pro and the Applecare Protection Plan Auto Enroll 607-8192-B APP FOR MacBook

Does anyone know the difference between the Applecare Warranty for the Macbook Pro and the Applecare Protection Plan Auto Enroll 607-8192-B APP FOR MacBook

AFAIK, the difference is that the auto-enroll occurs automatically when you purchase the device and you will have to disburse the cost right there and then. Whereas the other comes in a box, can be purchased separately later and you must manually enroll your device into the system to activate the additional protection. This must occur before the base one year warranty is over.
So, if you don't want to pay up at the moment you buy the computer, you can wait up to say 11 months and buy the AppleCare warranty extension later. Just be sure to complete the enrollment BEFORE the base warranty is over, else Apple will not honor the extension (all in the fine print). This applies to all devices that offer an AppleCare option: notebooks, desktops, iStuff, etc.

I got a macbook pro retina and I installed windows 7. How can I get the windows 7 drivers for the Macbook Pro Retina?

Read the Boot Camp Instructions, you have to download the drivers using Boot Camp Assistant
If you missed that I suggest that you read the instructions again.

  • Can "Sims 3" and its' expansions pack be played on the Macbook Pro w/ Retina Display?

I am thinking about purcashing the new Macbook Pro w/ Retina Display. I would like to know if  "Sims 3" and its' expansions packs are playable on this mac with the assistance of an Apple USB Superdrive.

Yes, The Sims 3 and all its expansions are perfectly playable on the MacBook Pro with Retina display (though I don't recommend installing it using Remote Disc as it will take a couple of hours at best to completely install everything).
Playing it at 2880 x 1800 makes everything look great... except for the incredibly small UI elements. The game looks slightly fuzzy at 1440 x 900, which is to be expected given how Apple handles scaling with the Retina display. If you can't live with the fuzziness, you'll have to find a happy medium between 1440 x 900 and 2880 x 1800. And hey, if you decide you can play it at 2880 x 1800, more power to you!

  • Have Cisco E4200 and E2000 - want them both working on the same network...

I have a cable modem.  My Cisco E4200 is connected to the cable modem and is my DHCP server for the house.   But, the E4200 wireless does not reach to another part of my house.  So, I bought an E2000 to connect on the network.  The E4200 and E2000 are both routers and have the same default 192.168.1.1 address.   I've tried to turn off DHCP server on the E2000 but I then I can't connect to it.
What are the steps to set up the E2000 so that is does not conflict with the E4200, is not a DHCP server, and will work with the E4200 on the same network.  I've tried the Setup, Connect and also advanced settings via a browser - but I must be missing a step somewhere.
Is there a document that shows how to set these two up so that one is a DHCP server and the other is an "access point"?

follow the instructions in this link.
they must be wired to each other though. they cannot connect to each other via a wireless connection.

  • The spinning "wheel of death" does NOT go away! I've loaded too much stuff on my computer (including the entire Adobe CS6 software) and I want to delete everything on my macbook pro and start over? How do I clean everything up without buying MacKeeper?

I use my MacBook Pro (Late 2009) for EVERYTHING and I have loaded so many apps, even doubles of some, I think!   My computer is running really SLOW and I think it is because I don't have enough memory.
I just installed the new Adobe CS6 and that was a BIG mistake.  The spinnning wheel of death doesn't stop! I wish I could load that program on my computer so I can use it "on the go", but I can't stand the spinning wheel!
I want to clean up my computer and get rid of EVERYTHING on it!!     Then, re-install the factory settings to run Lion.  I believe this will make the wheel stop spinning.
However, how do I make sure that all of the extra stuff that is attached to the app, ( including all the cache') is deleted too?   I don't want to have to buy MacKeeper!
I am hoping the computer wizards or the apple team can give me an answer on how to clean up everything and start over.  I have saved everything on my desktop mac.

Thank you so much for the help!  I had heard bad things about MacKeeper and I don't want to screw up my macbook  any more than it already is!  I will do as you suggest.  Do you believe this is the best solution for the problem I described?
Should I load my Adobe Creative Suite 6 (in the cloud version) on an external hard drive?
I am so tired of this spinning wheel....should I avoid putting the CS6 on my macbook pro altogether?
I have it on my desk top mac, but wanted to be able to take the photo editing with me when I am "out and about".  I know I should probably buy the ipad, which would transport much easier, but even the ipad probably doesn't have the capacity to hold all the Adobe CS6 apps, correct?

  • HT5517 i have apple tv and i could play my dvd on my macbook pro but now i cannot i get a black and white box i have vlc which apple store put on for me but thats no good because the film keeps jumping. i am wondering why i cannot play from dvd to apple t

i have had apple tv since last april and i could play films from dvd player from mac book  but for some reason this has stopped working from dvd player when i put the dvd player on apple tv i get a black and white screen i can hear the film but i cannot see it, i went to my local store and they but vlc on for me but its terrible the film always jumps every time.
Can anyone now the reason this has happen as i watch film offern but its driving me crazy why i cannot play from macbook pro to dvd player. i have been told it was a sercuity problem with the films so do i use itunes every time i need to watch a film if so then apple tv is a waste of money thanks please help

This is supposed to happen, licensing issue mean that Apple can't AirPlay protected content to other devices. You might try VLC instead of Apples built in DVD player.
