The iPad 2 is carrier unlocked and will work with any GSM MicroSIM.

I'm sorry you've lost files, but when you set up an account as Guest, there's a message that clearly states "When a guest user logs out, all information and files in the guest account's home folder are deleted". If you want an account where files are retained, you should create an Admin or Standard type.
You will need to use data recovery techniques to see if your file can be recovered. The more that you use your computer, the greater the risk that the file will be overwritten. You can contact a professional data recovery service such as DriveSavers (which will be expensive, but you can judge the value of the file) or try something like Data Rescue. The latter has a demo which you can install to determine if your file can be recovered, and then, on purchase, you can actually recover the file.

What to do?
Two Options:
1) Buy a new AirPort Express, which will be supported.
2) Try a workaround....not supported by Apple.....to install AirPort Utility 5.6 on the Mac using the Mountain Lion operating system and use the 5.6 application to administer the old AirPort Express. See this thread for more details:

I can't open my iPod library in iTunes, the app doesn't show the device at all, no error message, nothing, but windows 8 opens it like it would a flash drive. It has worked for me before just fine and both have the most updated software versions. HELP PLEASE!

Don't know if there is an option make the download window stay up, but you can bring it back with Ctrl+J then right-click on the download to open the folder it was downloaded to.

I have an academic version of Final Cut Studio on my laptop and recently purchased the most recent Full version of Final Cut Studio. Do I need to uninstall the academic version before installing the new version? I ask because this is not an upgrade, but a completely new version.
I'm with Jim on this. It always seems to work out better if you do not install over another version. You can use this app (freeware - thanks to Jon Chappel) to completely remove ALL Final Cut Studio apps and components: http://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcsremover/
Once that's done, install your newly purchased version.

How do I get contact names to appear in the Verizon Messages browser version?

I just got the S5 and was giving the Verizon Messages app a shot since Mighty Text is acting a little wonky with Kit Kat and won't sync outgoing browser texts with the phone. With the VZW Messages app sending and receiving texts from my phone and browser works fine but I wanted the contact names to show up in the browser window. I figured Verizon was pulling the data from the cloud storage and not directly from the phone so I synced my contacts with vzw cloud but it only synced 35 out of my 350 contacts. They all originated from Google Contacts and seamlessly imported to my new phone from my old one.
Any ideas?Having the ability to access your contacts via Verizon Messages is very important JoeVoorhees. I am happy to inform you that with Verizon Messages, you do have the ability to import your contacts. To do this, simply sign into your Verizon Messages online>on the upper right hand side>click on menu>manage contacts>import contacts>on the top right hand side of the page you will see a picture of your phone and sync. Click on sync.

Good morning (at least here in Portugal)
My question is that I want to buy the new Iphone 5C, but I want to use it here in Portugal. I was in the store menu looking for it and it appears that I have to stay with a network for two years, if not the price will increase significantly. I want to buy it online because the Iphone will only arrive in Portugal in December and probably it will be more expensive. I've read in some blogs and forums that the verizon wireless works in Europe but my question is if it works with portugueses cards (like vodafone sim)?

Daniela João.The Verizon iPhone 5 is sold as unlocked. You can buy it full retail and use it anywhere you want. However, you won't get LTE in Europe and you won't be eligible for warranty service unless you take the phone back to the U.S. You won't be able to buy one on a contract unless you can pass a U.S. credit check. The minimum monthly cost would be $59.99 plus tax. I assume that all of this information will be true of of the 5C as well.

Had the same problem. Also worked fine on my MacBook, but not on my new iMac. Here's what I did to fix it:
Archive and Reinstall Mac OS (takes about 40 minutes). This reverted my system back to 10.6.2. Just pop in your Mac OS disc that came with your computer. Mine had 10.6.2 on it, and "Archive and Install" is the default option. When it's done, run software update and update everything. Now it all works fine.
Somewhere along the way, some file got corrupted somehow. But doing an "archive and install" of your OS undoes whatever file damage was incurred, and allows everything to update normally via Software Update as it should. -
I have a WiFi system in the house that uses the Airport Extreme for a hub and an older Express for sending music from my Mac to my sound system. Everything worked great till yesterday. When I go to Networks I see the Extreme and I see the Express but the Express is no longer connected and I get an error message "this version of AirPort Utility doesn't support this base station". Any ideas?
This sounds as if you have an older AirPort Express that is no longer supported by the newer Mavericks operating system.
To check and see if that might be the case, locate the model number on the side of the AirPort Express. It will start with an "A" followed by four numbers. Hard to see in the faint print.....so you may need reading glasses or a magnifying class to see the model number clearly.
Model numbers A1084 and A1088 of the AirPort Express are no longer supported by AirPort Utility in Mavericks.
You will need to use a Mac running Leopard, Snow Leopard, or a PC to be able to administer the older AirPort Express. -

This would be verizonwireless.com, correct? Their site requests that browsers should not save information for its login form.

My friend installed OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 on my iMac. Since then, I can barely use my Miocrsoft Word 2008. The spinning pinwheel, things freezing up, template and formatting trouble, and I can't get any Entourage messages more than a year old, which is a disaster. I read that Yosemite won't support Word 2008. What Microsoft Update should I buy, and will that fix my problems? I am desperate. Thank you in advance for your help. Some extensions that tack stuff on end of useragent may make all some part of useragent get stuck at a old version. The Facicons related extension installed at some point may be a culprit.

Verizon service is rapidly declining. In addition, the provided service is not as advertised. This is fraud by any standard.
They have what is called heat maps which give a reasonable indication of QOS quality of service. I am also beset by reception problems. well I have bad news for you any type of wireless service is predicated of "best effort" meaning they try best to deliver service to as many paid subscribers in service area. They figure their statistics based of how many service workers great ok and lastly outliers like me and you. You raise a case to state regulator or local that you feel your community has been targeted by bias in heat maps & why it should be fixed. It might work or might not. A better effort is to take your case to FCC. If you can prove there is favoritism in delivery of service to your community then they will deal with verizon but the FCC isn't going to pay much attention if your a crank and keep pestering them . My angle has been to keep plugging away at it explain business reasons of why they need to extend service but being respectful to Verizon. Keeping pressure on them maybe even helping them if local community is biased against adding cell tower or other Red tape . Give them benefit of doubt too they may be hampered by community or local state justification that just wont grant any service improvements.
