2nd Gen iPod Touch - 3rd party apps work for 1 day, next day they crash
Hello I have a brand new 16gb Touch with 2.1.1 software.
My problem is any application from the app store will work fine for 1 day and then the next day when I attempt to open the program it just loads for a second and then crashes back to the home screen. The only thing that works is uninstalling and reinstalling the apps which gets very annoying. It does this everyday though. They will perfectly all day long until I go to bed. Once I wake up and check they just crash. They won't work with the iPod plugged into the PC or with it not and powercycling doesn't make a difference. Only reinstalling them seems to work then the next day they are toast again. Any ideas? Is this thing bad and needs to go back?I had this problem - did a Restore (having backed up) and found my Apps (all of which had stopped working) NOT on the IPT, but in the Apps folder in iTunes (not sure I'd ever noticed them there before). Couldn't get them on the IPT by Synching etc. THEN - tried open an App from the iTunes window and got the "Computer not authorised to play ...etc" Re submitting the authorisation request just told me I was already authorised, but then did Sync and Apps all ok back on IPT
now, will they stay working for more than a few days???? -

I was playing a game on my iPod touch (got it about 3 months ago) and my mom came home from the grocery store so I put m iPod on the couch and went upstairs. I come back down 20-30 minutes later, My iPod's screen is black. Press the circle button. Nothing. Maybe it died. Walked upstairs to get the charger. Pulg it in. And NOTHING!! What do I do?!? I don't want to have to go and buy a new iPod!! >.< Should I got to a Apple Store? I'm at a panic!! That thing wakes me up in the morning, gives me internet and I use it as a phone too!! Someone please help me!!

I have a 4th gen iPod touch. It has been plugged in for hours but it won't charge or turn on. I cannot restore it because it won't show up in iTunes. I have tried pressing and holding the home and/or the power key but that does not work as well. I have tried restarting Apple Mobile Support. I have updated my iTunes. I have tried EVERYTHING but it will not turn on at all. Any suggestions?

When trying to facetime a contact (which worked prior to update) it says that person is 'unavailable for facetime'. Some contacts work and some don't. Facetime is enabled in settings.
Also can message some people but not others - not necessarily the same people that can't be facetimed.
Anyone experienced similar or got any ideas?

will apple fix this for me even if im not under warrenty? it gwets annoying having to take my ipod out of my pocket every time i have to turn it up.
They can give you a replacement unit for a flat fee if it's no longer in warranty. See here for pricing.

If a reset, restore from backup, or restore to factory defaults fails to resolve the issue, it's mostly hardware related. In that case setup a replace or repairment either through Apple or a third party repair company.

If my iPod Touch 5 battery is failing, can I pay Apple to send me a refurbished one before I send them the one with a failing battery? I don't want to go without my ITouch. I really don't want to go without it but I dont want to have to purchase a new one. The battery life is abysmal, and I am reluctant to upgrade my ios system to ios8 because all I ever see are complaints about upgrades killing the battery. I am still on ios6. When I upgraded my macbook pro (which is now DEAD) the battery got worse.
I am just sick of it. I called apple about my itouch battery and the help was terrible. All they were telling me to do was do a restart and UPGRADE TO THE LATEST IOS TO SEE IF THAT SOLVES THE BATTERY PROBLEM. They would not even tell me what to do if that would not work. Very rude.I kept asking and I finally had to find out myself through my own research that they cant replace the battery; instead they send you a refurbished ipod. They never told me that on the phone and they kept giving me the run around when I kept asking them what I should do if the IOS upgrade did not work or made the battery worse. Hopefully someone can answer my initial question. Thanks guys. I have a charger that I sometimes use plugged in to the ipod ( not all the time, I know that is bad for the battery) and I thought my battery life should be better than it is because I sometimes use it on the charger ( it should save the battery).Not that I know of. IPod Touch 3G randomly stops working, WON'T restore (due to 1603 error)
I was listening to my iPod Touch when I paused it for a moment & when I went to press play, the Apple logo came on followed by the iTunes logo and the USB port. I've never restored it before so I read that when that image shows up, you restore it on iTunes so I tried and I keep getting the same error (# 1603). I read that if people send in their iPod (those who have the same issue as I do) & get sent another, it still won't work.
- I've reinstalled iTunes: nothing changed
- I've used different USB ports: nothing changed
- Tried to restore it on another Mac: nothing changed (I get the same error)
- Tried to download another firmware to restore: didn't work
