Hey, where did the Help icon go??

Just to say I did it, I decided to take a visit to the Doctor (actually I wanted to see if the Pre Plus would see any 1.4 improvements with a clean install - can't say that I can notice a difference) but I see that after using the webOS Doctor the icon for Help is gone. I can still click on the mystery ghost box and Help opens just fine. No idea how or why it went away. Can't say I want to Doctor the phone again. Any ideas out there???

Did you have a theme on the phone? Sometimes if you WebOSDoctor the phone and you have a theme applied to it at the time, you can mess up your icons. Just a thought. If you don't know what a theme is or how to theme your phone, then I don't think this is the place to discuss it, as it's not Palm approved, from what I can tell.

Where did the proxy icon go?

Hi All, New here.
My company just upgraded to CS6. My job requires frequent placing of images from Photoshop into InDesign. I used to heavily depend on the proxy icon to shorten this step.
For example, I would finish editing a photo, then save in Photoshop. The proxy icon would darken after file was saved. Then I would drag proxy icon into InDesign file, which would place the image into the INDD.
Now, there is no proxy icon after I save my Photoshop documents. I noticed that the proxy icon DOES appear when I first open a document, but it disappears if I save it.
- This happens with .jpg, .psd, etc. Not just one file type.
- It ONLY seems to happen in PS--not IND or AI.
This slows down my process considerably. I now must open a Finder window, navigate to the Photoshop document, and drag from there into INDD. Or I have to Command+D in InDesign and navigate to Photoshop document there.
If this is a setting issue, will someone please tell me where to turn my proxy icon visibility back on?
If this is something Adobe removed, PLEASE will you bring it back?

Hey - Where did the Summing Thread Go ????

I took a lot time write about this topic. Did the thread get deleted...? I hope not.
In case it did.... Mr. Moderator.... Please, dont delete stuff that takes a whole lot of time to write. If stupid arguments occur in the thread how about just deleting those posts that are offensive and NOT those who are topic related.
I find the way that this forum gets moderated very unprofessional and it goes to show that you guys moderating this forum obviously have little knowledge of Audio else you would NOT delete a whole thread but just the stuff that has no topic relations... Please consider this next time you hit the delete button. Or maybe ask a Pro if the topic has "contents of importance" this Summing thread was really good for many people...

Where did the firefox icon go mine is grey icon on the home page I am using 15.0.1 version

I am using v 15.0.1 fire fox on my windows xp desk top. ( I am useing my tablet to help me figure out whats going on with my desktop computer) and I noticed that in the web browser window where you type your url address the icon I thought was to be perhaps a small icon of the fre fox on the home page..... Now I see it is grey or ghosted out....... the following pages that I go to sometimes has a grey or ghosted out paddle lock.... If the web site does not contain any personal information it is the grey out icon of the Fire fox or what ever it is and if I left click on it it will state that this web site does not supply idnenty information Your connection to this site is only partially encrypted, and does not prevent eaves dropping the there is a more infor tab so whatis theis all about how can I get it to be fully encripted and not have a third party eavses dropping in on me? thanks for your help

Where Did the App Icon Preview Go?

Prior to version 11, there was a small thumbnail preview in the bottom-left corner of the iTunes window that displayed the icon of the selected app. Since updating to iTunes 11, this feature is nowhere to be found.
This feature is crucial to me because I have nearly 800 apps in my library, and I must be able to quickly navigate through them.
If Apple did away with this option, could you please direct me to instructions on how to downgrade back to the last stable version of iTunes 10??

Have you tried rebooting the device? Hold down on the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo appears on the screen. If this fails, connect it to a power source and try again holding them for at least 20 seconds.

Mail: where did the status icons go?

Here's a small thing, but it's weird. Mail used to have little icons that would spin while looking for new messages. It was a visual indicator that something was actually going on, during what would otherwise look like dead time.
Somewhere along the way, the icons disappeared. Any ideas? 2008 Mac Pro, OS 10.5.4, Mail 3.3

I probably just missed something stupid but I could use some help please.

Every financial institution (bank, credit union,...), every news outlet (print/TV/Radio/blog) reaches out to millions of elderdly folks and other non-geeks and tells them to run away as soon as they dont see a Key or Lock on a secured page (or maybe so-called secured page from what I get you are trying to push through).
This is a major Change Management disaster waiting to happen... Not just for Firefox but for every web site using secure transactions. Countless organisations are going to get calls from users telling them, "Your site is not secured, Oprah and CNN told me so".
Go for color scheme or other visual indicator to warn of security level, but absolutely dont lose the icon !

How do I get them back?

I'd rather start with tidying things up on the server. I.e. delete messages you already moved to the new account or to Local Folders in the original account. And then also remove them from Trash.
Google doesn't make it easy to really get rid of messages, and this may be a tidy process, but it will finally bring down the space used on the server.

Where did my volume icon go,
I would check to make sure it didn’t somehow get removed from the system tray.
In order to do this:
Press the Windows key and X simultaneously.
Select Control Panel.
Select Notification Area Icons.
From this screen you’ll see several icons. Find Volume and make sure the behaviors are set to
Show icon and notifications.
Select OK.
If the behaviors were not set appropriately and you made the above change, then the icon should reappear.
In the event that the icon still not appear, it may be a driver issue and you’ll need to look at your hardware manufacturer’s website to see if there is an updated driver that you need to download and install.

I go to the download page to download the drivers for this 551dn. I download all windows 7, 8, 8.1, 2008, 2012, so that i can put them on my print server. I downloaded them from here..

I get the file downloaded (LJEnt-color-M551-Drv-no-installer_12297.exe), i run it, get the security warning and Run. the file extracts - then POOF, the installer is gone.
where did the files go? They aren't on the root of the C: drive, a folder/files were not created on my desktop, no files or folder created in my downloads folder.
I was never asked for a file save location.... ??? really? is this this basic stuff?
Where are the files? this $$$ printer is a brick until i get drivers!

UPDATE- I FOUND THE FILES!!
First of all, HP... i'm not impressed.
All the files for all the drivers are in a series of temp folders...

There is no change to this problem after 6 months since the last post. Put simply, and as stated in the previous posts, there is no way to scan a document and receive the image on your PC. If you are working with graphics for any length of time or want to create an image for inclusion as an image in a document or web page using this piece of equipment will not allow you to do so.
Great shame as every other function works well - it cannot be beyond the wit of HP to include a Windows application that enables you to scan an image, receive it in the software you are using at the time (e.g. Outlook, Word, Photoshop...) and use it in your work.
HP Printers several years older than this £1000+ Enterprise printer were able to do this simple job and have done so for a great many years. Just being able to use Microsoft's Fax and Scan would be start.

Good point (though I wouldn't go as far as "failure"). It is surprising that Apple haven't followed the conventions used (for example) in Microsoft's Office products where Help (via the question-mark-in-a-circle icon) is always available in the UI irrespective of the user's choices of enabling/disabling the menu bar, toolbars, ribbon, etc. Having the menu bar default to disabled also seems counter-productive - Apple may see this as "simplification" but I can't imagine that any users, other than those who make the bare minimum use of iTunes, would not want to have the functions available via the menus available at all time.

Where did the print setting "Rewrap message to fit" go in Mail 7?
All text prints too small. Settings for font size haven't changed and the emails print out much smaller than the view settings.
I don't see the options for "Rewrap message to fit" or "Keep fonts the same size".
Suggestions?

I have the same problem. Text and the info with the "To" header all prints very small. I also cannot find the controls described. Just updated to Mavericks, never had problem before this. Same printer, and problem also occurs on another different model printer I tried for a test.
