  • Can HFM be installed on linux?

as install guidance, HFM 11.1.1 need IIS. does that means HFM only suport Windows?

yes, there is no part of HFM that can be installed on any variant of Unix, including Linux.
HFM is a Windows only technology. The application server is written in C++ for Windows only, and the web interface uses Microsoft ASP (and ASP.NET for the Smartview provider).

  • Can HFM & FDQM  run on Oracle Database 10.2.0.2 based on a 64bit server?

To enhance performances of HFM and FDQM, my customer would like to upgrade the Oracle DB server (10.2.0.2) that runs on Windows Server 2003, from 32Bit to 64Bit, that supports larger number of connections.
The HFM and FDQM are installed on Windows Server 2003 32Bit and will not move to the new 64Bit server so only the Oracle DB will be installed on the new 64Bit server.
Is it possible? Is there any document that explain it?
    Thank you,
    Yoram.

    Hi,
I am facing another related problem. I have installed HFM 9.3.1.1 along with Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 in Windows server 2003 SP2. When I try to create udl by choosing Oracle Provider for OLE DB, the test connection succeed. but giving unknown error at the time of Application server configuration indicating to apply working udl file.
When I check the HFM installation guide, it tells to download and install the 'Oracle Provider for OLE DB' file from Oracle.com (as per page 21 of the installation doc). But the problem is that the 'Oracle Provider for OLE DB' file is not available for the aforesaid Oracle 10g version.
Can anybody guide me in the aforesaid problem? Please sent the link from where I can get the file for installation purposes.
Your help would be of great help.
    Thanks & Regards...

  • FDM 11 using FM11x-G5-C to load to HFM 9.3.1

Hi, we're upgrading our Hyperion system (9.3.1) to Oracle EPM 11 (11.1.1.3) in phases and as part of this, we need to leave HFM at 9.3.1 and upgrade FDM to 11.1.1.3.
We have set up the interface such that the FDM 11 installation can connect to the HFM 9.3.1 application using FM11x-G5-C adapter (browse for target value works). But while using a lights-out process using the batch-loader, it fails to load to HFM, with the error "-2146233088-Unable to open file <FDM_outbox_dir>\49-051010154259.Log" and error ends in "File: CHsvDataLoad.cpp;Line: 2564;Ver: 9.3.1.0.2176; At Line: 486".
The last piece of the error message indicates that the error is originating in HFM. My guess is that FDM 11 puts this file in a location different than what FDM 9.3.1 used to (on the basis that Oracle changed log file locations in version 11). Would this be a correct assumption?
However, the EPM 11.1.1.3 compatibility matrix indicates that FDM 11.1.1.3 is compatible with HFM 9.3.x, so this shouldn't be the case.
    Any help/pointers are appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Andy

The issue was because HFM 11 was also installed on the server. The HFM 11 client cannot load to the 9.3.1 HFM application.
I replaced the HFM client's files with the files from the 9.3.1 server, and was then able to load the file using the client successfully. But it did not help for FDM. Most probably it is was DCOM config issue.
Since I need this set up only for a few weeks, I have set up the file system to output files to a shared folder and use batch loader on the target server to pick up and load the files.

  • DR for HFM

    Dear All,
Do anybody has idea what are the steps need to be carried out for setting up Disaster Recovery(DR) server for HFM.
We have installed and configured DR server simmilar to our Prod server. It would be great if can get some guidelines.approach or documentation available for the same.
    Thanks in advance,Merry XMas !!

    Hi David,
Thanks for the reply. However my requirement is something DR setup for HFM environment. What I am interested to know, let me tell the scenario.
Scenario: We have two production servers P1 & P2. and two DR servers D1 & D2.
    P1 & D1 Architecture : HFM,FDM and Shared services are installed.
P2 & D2 Architecture : Workspace and Reporting are installed.
Now the link has to be establieshed between P2 & D2 servers. When workspace link of P2 i.e. http://P2:19000/workspace/index.jsp is down user should be redirected to http://D2:19000/workspace/index.jsp
In this duration database should copy all the applicn data from P2 and load into D2.Would like to know how this can be done for HFM,FDM,Shared Services,Reports etc. We have a database team that will take care of the database mirroring but from Hyperion Applications perspective was wondering how to automate this process.
    Thanks again for your concern.

  • Essbase Analytics - Essbase & HFM to be on a same server ?

    Hi,
Is it mandatory that Essbase & HFM is to be installed on the same server for analytics to work?

Thanks Jonh for your quick reply...
But do they need to be under same Foundation & shared services ?
Because my Essbase & HFM installations are on totally different servers with diff shared/Foundation services.
I am trying to establish bridge between them & in Summary it showing HFM Server Not Available.

  • FDQM-HFM-Adaptor

    Hello All,
We are planning to install and configure HFM & FDQM 11.1.2.1 version in two different servers.
HFM in 64 bit Server and FDM in 32 Bit Server.
Our concern is with regard to integration of HFM with FDM when both are installed on two different servers.
Besides registering the Adapters and Machine Profile, is it necessary to install HFM Client in FDM server in order to integrate both HFM & FDM.
If it is necessary to install HFM client in FDM 32 bit server, which version of HFM client should be installed HFM 64 bit or HFM 32 bit client.
    Please share your thoughts
    Thanks In Advance.

Seems like we got the answer.
We have installed FDM on 32 bit server and HFM on 64 bit server.
Also we have installed HFM Client 32 Bit in FDM 32 Bit Server and added the Cluster (HFM 64bit) to the HFM client (in FDM Server).
Continued by registering the Adapters and configuration of Machine profile in FDM.
Once done with this we have checked the integration in FDM which is working perfectly fine.
    Thanks for all your support.

    HI All,
I am trying to access on line help (pressing F1) in EPM 11.1.2.3 but I'm getting the folowing error :
404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
Also I'm getting this error when try to install some client tool such as HFM Client from Tools--> Install --> HFM Client for 64bits.
Does anyone could help on that ?
    Thanks,

What web server are you using, if it is OHS then the online will be automatically configured and redirect to the help located on the Oracle website.
If you are using a different web server or want to run the help locally have a read of - Configuring Online Help to Run Locally

  • Unable to export to excel from FDM

    Hi,
I have installed and configured FDM 9.3.1. I have HFM and SmartView also installed on the same server. And when I try to export control tables to excel it launches a new page and then the page keeps showing processing.
There is another environment where I have a similar setup i.e HFM, FDM and smartview on one server. But there it works perfectly.
    Can someone help?
    Thanks
    Ramya

While Smartview can be installed on the FDM server, it must be disabled for the service account under which FDM runs.
The account that runs FDM can be found by opening Load Balance Manager. The user name is the service account.
To disable smartview, login to the server with this ID and click Hyperion > About. Uncheck the Enable Add-in check box. Click Ok. Click File > Exit.

  • 429 ActiveX error on Control Tables

    Hi,
We just migrated on application into a different FDQM enviromnet. In the workbench, when we open control tables, we get a 429 ActiveX error. Any help will be appreciated..

This error normally pops up if the target client (HFM/Enterprise) is not installed on the WorkBench server or PC.
Also it could be that you don't have a machine profile for the pc/server you're running WorkBench on.
