HFM, Process Management, NO ACCESS Issue

Gurus !,
Users have a Reviewer 1-3 role with submitter role as well, however, when they try to access a Scenario that has "Process Management" = "Y", they get NOACCESS.
I think it is beacause of the Process Management setup and the calc status shows as SC, CN or LOCKED (when logged in with Process Super role)
Process Level shows ... NOT Started ... so the questions becomes ... can a reviewer 1 see data when the process level shows "Not Started" ?
Thanks in anticipation ... ,

One more question: how exactly is the "No Access" information displayed? That is, what exactly is the error message you get? For example, users in Financial Reports may intermittently get an "access denied" message when trying to run a report there. In that case, the issue has nothing to do with permissions of the users but is instead a DCOM bug in Windows. Having the exact message may help us see if you are experiencing a different problem than data access.

  • HFM Process Management

    Hi,
in HFM, we use the submission group and submission phases to manage the phased process management. I have one questions regarding this submission group/submission phase.
For example, I have accounts dimension members revenue, and balance sheet, and also C1 for products, P1, P2, P3.
In HFM, can I have the submission phased by accounts AND c1.
For example, I would like to have revenue->P1 to be in the phase 1, balance sheet in Phase 2, revenue->P2 in phase 3. The normal setup, is that I can give revenue: submission group 1, and balance sheet: sub group 2, and then P1 : sub group 1, and P2: sub group 3. In this setup, since revenue is already sub grp1, I can not have one sub group assigned to different sub phases. It seems that I can not do the phased submission as I wished.
Am I right? Any workaround or suggestion/advices? Thanks in advance

    Raul,
I think that maybe I do not state my problem clearly.
Yes. I already enable the metadata for phase submission, including accounts dimension, and C1 to C4 dimensions.
However, if I would like to have different submission phases for same account, but different C1 dimension member. How can I assign the submission group to same account member, but different C1 dimension members to achieve the different submission phase?
Since one account member can only have one submission group, and each C1 member has different submission group as well. In this case, when I assign the submission group to different phases, I can not have same submission group in two different phases. Then I can not do achieve the submission phase, for example, sales for Product 1 in Phase 2, and sales for Product 2 in Phase 5, etc.
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks

  • HFM Process Management Alerting Config.

I am unable to get the Process Management Alerting to work.
Once I click on OK after changing the review level, the window just hangs there (cannot switch to it).
Does not send out an email.
I get this error in the IIS log ...

The HFM config has the right smtp listed.
I have tested the email settings etc. on the server and can send emails using telnet.
Any ideas / suggestions would be much appreciated.

  • Deactivate HFM process Management

    Dear Experts,
What are the consequences on historical data if I disable Process management for all scenarios except ACTUAL?
    Thanks for your help.
    Benoit

    Hi Benoit,
If you are referring to the enable process management option in scenario attributes, disabling this will allow users to be able to change data to previous periods. This will be similar to removing the protection from old excel files.
Is there any specific reason of doing something like that?

  • Promote HFM Process Management using FDM Financial Controls

    Hi Folks
Has anybody tried to enable this feature of FDM 11.1.1.3? I've set the integration setting to On but I can't find any documentation on how to use the feature....
    Cheers

I found the answer to my problem. The process was not working because I had set the Value for the location to Entity Currency;Entity Curr Adjs to allow journal posting. FDM was trying to evaluate the process mgt status for the process unit and was sending through Entity Currency;Entity Curr Adjs to HFM as a Value member. HFM quite rightly denied all knowledge of such a member which in turn generated an error.
By changing the code in the ContorlsSubmit action to just take Entity Currency, the feature worked fine.

  • Workfow Process Management - Take Ownership issue

    Hi All,
We are on Hyperion planning 11.1.2 and just started using Workflow process mgmt of type "Bottom Up". It is happened that one of the planning unit owners went on vacation and when the top level user (budget administrator) takes ownership of these planning units, write access is not getting transferred. All web forms cells are grayed out. Budget administrator has write access at all levels (Confirmed when looked at other scenario where it is not enabled for PM). Not sure what we are doing wrong. Can you guys throw some light...
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Regards,
    Praveen

Yes budget administrator is one of the reviewers.
How to handle this situation. I tried with one of the planner (who is not part of the Process Mgmt and who have write access at all levels) to take ownership from initial owner but it is not allowed to take. Is there any way to take ownership of the planning units and submit data. Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Praveen

  • Process Management and Security Roles

    Hi guys,
I haven't worked too much with security, and now I have to define the users that will be related to the Process Management cycle. Is there any specific role for each phase? Are all the phases necessary?
    Thanks!
    Anna

    Hi Anna,
I think that the first and most important step of your task is to understand who the information flows in your organisation. Ask your customer/users how the flow of the information would have been if they did not have HFM. Designing a couple of charts and having your customers to sign-off this process is quite important in my experience.
As soon as you understand which business roles should deliver/review information to the next business role, then start designing the HFM process management.
The first level of Process management is the Not Started. At this level no user can import data except the administrator
The second level of Process management is the First Pass. At this level all users can input data without restrictions.
The third level of Process management is the Review Levels. You have 10 Review Levels per submission. However, one to five review levels is quite enough for most organisations. Consider that the more review levels the more complex your process is. My personal opinion is that 4 review levels are quite good for the majority of the organisations. At RL1, the inputer will input the data, at RL2 the finance director will review the data, at RL3 the hub/region director will review the data and finally at RL4 the group users will review the data.
The review level 4 that I mentioned, can be substitute by the next set of levels which is submit, approve and publish. The status "publish" will allow the entity to be locked which means that not even the administrator will not be able to change the data or calculate the entity.
There are many combinations of how you can setup the process management, so if you have specific questions please let us know.

Dinension server has probably problems with accessing the database.
First, use tnsping from hyperion server to database instance according to your tnsnames.ora, for example: tnsping hfmdb
If this fails, you have to modify tnsnames.ora.
If it's ok, then stop all EPMA services and reconfigure EPMA (register with SS, config DB and deploy to app server). Use "drop all tables..." to clean the whole EPMA DB scheme.
Then try to start EPMA services again.
    Hope this helps...

  • Issue with Oracle Process Manager

    Hi All,
I've installed Hyperion Planning on one server few days back. Now i've installed HFM on other server. The shared services is common which i've given is the First server (Where Planning is installed). The Planning server is working fine. When i'm trying to start Oracle Process Manager in the second server (Where HFM is installed) it is giving the message as "Could not start the Oracle Process Manager EPM_epmsystem1 service on Local computer" and The System cannot find the path specified.
I've installed & configured WebLogic on both servers (Planning & HFM)
Is this service required for HFM ? I think it is for Essbase. correct me if i'm wrong. Do we need to run this service on the second server ? (HFM Server). What is the main purpose of this server. Pls. advice.
    Thanks,
    PVR

    Hi John,
Thanks so much for the Reply. As i mentioned earlier i've 2 servers. First server is for Planning and the second server is for HFM. I would like to use the shared services for both Planning & HFM on the first server. For launching workspace, if i type http://firstserver:19000/workspace, i can see Planning. To see HFM, do i need to launch http://firstserver:19000/worksapce or i need to launch http://secondserver:19000/workspace. I'm thinking that HFM will be available by launching http://secondserver:19000/workspace URL instead of the first URL, but i did't find the option of Configure webserver in the second server (HFM server). Pls. advice
Also, while configuring i've given other database for Reporting and Anaysis instead of the existing database. Also, given the server as second server (HFM server) during the configuration of Reporting and Analysis. Can you pls. kindly help and advice with the situation i've mentioned here
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Your problem is you have installed it on XP, this is not a suported OS and EPMA does not work well with it.

  • Accessing process manager via JNDI

We are developing with Appserver 6.5, and also the the
process manager running inside the appserver. Unfortunately our
experience is that 6.5 is not stable enough to develop and deploy
our app. However we do need to use the process manager.
I'm now trying to run our application in Catalina (7.0) and use
a JNDI reference to talk to the process manager beans in
6.5. however the jndi lookup fails.
    javax.naming.NamingException: com.netscape.pm.model.IPMClusterManager
I'm pretty sure I need to provide additional parameters in server.xml
for this lookup... but cannot find -any- documentation as to what
    parameters are used.
    ideas?
    thanks

  • Process management color (urgent!!!!)

    hi all!
when i used the process management control , i am confused that all cells are red ,who can tell me why the cells are not green or yellow?
and what the colors means ?
    thank you very much !!!!

    Hi,
Following from HFM user guide might be useful
Using Cell Colors in Data Grids to Determine Status
Cell colors in data grids indicate additional information about the data. The following table shows the default cell colors in data grids:
Off-white This is an input cell. You can enter or edit data manually.
    Light green Allows allocations/derived data.
Medium green This cell is read-only.
Dark green This cell has no write or read access/derived data.
Red Invalid intersection of dimension members. You cannot enter data in invalid cells.
Yellow Yellow indicates one of these conditions:
Data in the cells has been modified but has not yet been saved.
The input status is OK, but the status of the adjustment is not OK (CH, CN or TRN). If the status is CN for node level adjustments, you must run Force Calculate Contribution to clear up the adjustment member status.
Gray This cell contains locked/derived data.
Blue This is a header cell.
Black This is the active cell
This applies to Data grid but I don't think there may be any issue as far as colour RED,, Dark Green are concerned.

  • EPM Process Manager and Workspace Error

OS: Window Server 2003 usiing SQL 2005
The error below is what I received when trying to start the Hyperion EMP Process Manager and I cannot access the Workspace but I am able to create application on the Client.
I would appreciate your help to resolve this error. The installation and configuration came out fine without errors.
Service cannot be started. Hyperion.DimensionServer.ProcessManager.Interface.ProcessManagerException: Cannot initialize the Session Manager. ---> Hyperion.DataAccessLayerCore.DataAccessLayerException: To run the Dimension Server, both ALLOW_SNAPSHOT_ISOLATION and READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT database settings must be set to 'ON'. Their values are currently 'ON' and 'OFF' respectively. Please consult the product documentation for details.

    ALTER DATABASE OMAR
    SET READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT ON
    ALTER DATABASE OMAR
    SET ALLOW_SNAPSHOT_ISOLATION ON
The command above worked, but the command below works better. Thanks for the SQL server link you provided.
    /*ALTER DATABASE OMAR
    SET READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT ON;
    GO
    ALTER DATABASE OMAR
    SET ALLOW_SNAPSHOT_ISOLATION ON;
    GO*/
However, I am now faced with another problem as indicated below. I have refreshed the DNS but no luck. Please I still need your assistance about this error.
Service cannot be started. Hyperion.DimensionServer.ProcessManager.Interface.ProcessManagerException: Cannot initialize the Session Manager. ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 169.254.220.55:5255
