HFM Question : What could corrupt a virtual directory ?

Hello Gurus,
    Sometimes I have been facing an issue with consolidation app when opening it from workspace.
    I'm trying to load this app, in to HFM 11.1.2.2. I was able to deploy the application, however, when I try to open it from Applications > Consolidation > AGGCONS to load data I'm getting the following error :
"The following exception has occurred in DataControlFactoryImpl.createSession(): oracle.jbo.JboException com a mensagem: JBO-29000:Unexpected exception caught: oracle.adf.model.adapter.AdapterException, msg=DCA-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.epm.fm.common.exception.HFMException, msg= {D0084996-C813-4113-92FA-81202489222A}1-2147023878106/09/2013 15:46:51HYPDCHFMWHCHFMCASSecurity.cpp5411.1.2.2.300.3774-2147023878006/09/2013 15:46:51HYPDCHFMWHCHsxClient.cpp526611.1.2.2.300.3774"
      I've found a possible solution at Oracle Support : Financial Management Error "JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught..." When Attempting to Access Consolidation Administration in Workspace. (Doc ID 1457676.1). However, it's not exactly the same error, but the solution related to my issue was similar. This article state that :
"The Financial Management web server configuration does not complete succesfully, the virtual directory in IIS called "hfmapplicationservice" is not available under "Default Web Site". To resolve this issue run the EPM System Configurator and on the HFM web server and choose "Configure web server" for Financial Management product to re-create the virtual folder (hfmapplicationservice)."
      When I follow the instructions above, I've got to open up the app without any problem. But in two or three days the same error happens again.
      I'm suspecting about the user but don't know enough about Consolidation Application to affirm that.
      Then I'd like to know if would be possible some kind of a "bad app use" to corrupt some files from this virtual directory that is mapped in IIS that the only solution is recreate this virtual directory.

1.) XBRL - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XBRL
You may or may not use this depending on the particular business.
2.) UD1, UD2, UD3 are what you want them to be. They are basically "extra" dimensions or work areas which you can take advantage of. For example we use one of the UD fields to link our accounts with Tax Stream (I think it's One Source now....).
If you end up in a position where you need more than 3 UD fields, you can subdivide them by. For instance if I put a value in UD1 like cou=US,con=NA I could use the split command on the field and divide out the values into unique pieces, etc.

Ldap BIND trough virtual directory.

I'm guessing if I could use DS6 virtual directory proxy to enable the "Access Manager Ldap Authentication Module" to authenticate users both on a DS and on AD backends.
In my scenario some users are registered on DS backend while other users are registered on AD.
AD and DS root-suffix are different and also accounId (uid and samaccountname) are different.
So every account/password can be found in just only one backend repository.
Could I use DPS to let Access Manager (Ldap Auth Module) to authenticate all users referring always and only to DPS?
(I know AM has chaining authentication but it pops the login form for each backend repository).

if yes, you could use the distribution feature in DPS.
if not, then you may be out of luck.
Are both back-ends active (i.e. being updated ?) or is one of them pretty much static ?
One restriction with the DPS join feature is that entries are only visible at the join level if they exist at least one the pimary source. So in your case it may or may not work.
Another solution (yes, what's nice about virtualization is that there are a number of ways to do things) would be to have two separate views, one pointing your DS and the other pointing to your AD. You would then use dn and attibute transformations to rewrite the data from both backends in a consistent way. The issue would then be to handle the case where you have a user with the same (rewritten) dn on both backends.

Oracle Virtual Directory vs. Oracle External Authentication Plug-in

I am working in Windows 2003 Server platform and I have Oracle Portal 10g R2 with Oracle Single Sign On 10g R2 setup. I also have Microsoft Active Directory setup. I want to use Microsoft Active Directory users from Oracle Portal and as per my understanding I could use Oracle External Authentication Plug-in or Oracle Virtual Directory for this purpose. I would like to use Oracle Virtual Directory if possible. Could someone please tell me if I could use Oracle Virtual Directory or not?

Yeah, I could use Oracle External Authentication Plug-in, but I am having issues with running the oidspadi.sh script on my Windows 2003 server environment. I am running this script using Cygwin's latest software, but for some reason I get the following error message.

Therefore, I was trying to find an alternative solution, which will be using Virtual Directory. Right now, I have installed Oracle Virtual Directory on my testing system and I have both Active Directory server and OID server part of LDAP Browser. My goal is to using Oracle Portal to log-in and first look for the user in OID if not found then look in Active Directory. Can this be accomplished using Oracle Virtual Directory?

Virtual Directory Browsing in IIS Is what in OSX Server?

Ok, forgive my ignorance. I am coming from a better understanding of Microsoft IIS..
Basically what I am looking for is.. In my Windows Server I would have a Partition Drive with a letter.. lets say e:\ and call the drive docs with data files saved on it. I would then go into IIS and setup a Virtual Directory of that E drive.. So then I could have people own a browser at www.website.com/docs and from there it would list all the files allow them me to download what they needed.... Yes, I know there is also a VPN option.. However, this is easier for my case...
I think in Apache it would show a page and in bold letters "Index Of /" then list all the contents in that drive or folder..
I have tried looking up what it would be called in Apache.. Yet not yielded much luck..
Anyone have ideas?

I found a manual from Apple "web tech" that says to insert:
<Directory "/Users/refuser/Sites"> Options Indexes MultiViews AllowOverride None Order allow,deny Allow from all</Directory>
I inserted this into the /etc/apache2/sites/website.conf file or even the Virtual_Host_Global.conf file
I changed the directory to the path I have the "Aliases and Redirects" such as /Volumes/Web
Works great!
HOWEVER....... I have noticed.. that every time I then goto edit something in the Server Admin Console for Apache.. It removes the code out of the .conf files..
I have tried making .htaccess files in the Drive with no luck or even adding a httpd.conf and no luck..
It does seem to give Directory indexing when I add it into the location listed above.. yet no where else.. kind of stumped again..
Any ideas?

this is my second brand new HD that ive put in my comp that has become corrupt after a few days. what could cause this to happen? :/

Sorry was in a hurry earlier when i typed that
also note, ive already switched out the HD once, so unless i was unlucky enough to get 2 bad HDs, or western digitals dont like somethin in my comp, its not the HD.
also, on both hard drives i was able to use it for awhile perfectly fine before the drive went corrupt. This last time the screen kept flickering black (monitor didnt go into standby, it was just flickering) and everything started running realllllllly slow.
my next step is to send back the RAM and get some OCZ duel channel optimized RAM. maybe even get my board replaced with same board, if anybody thinks i might have a faulty one?

Virtual Directory-Simple question

My application needs to access a number of files in several directories. They are mear static .PDF files.But when i call them my program is written in such a way that, it points out to the physical directory, like "C:\application\repots\myreport.pdf" and the same thing will desplayed in the browser.Any one of you please help me in creating "Virtual directory" and how to map that to the physical directory where all my files exist.

I have a servlet that generates a String as follows
reports\RPTS200208\E200208-89000001.PDF where 2002= current year
08=current month
89000001 is the code that has been submitted from a jsp page( getParameter()).
I have a Physical directory called reports in which all these sub-directories and the .PDF files inturn.
I included orion-web.xml file and i wrote it as follows.

How to set up a virtual directory on Application Server

The environment of my application is Application server 9i version 2, on windows 2000, form 9.0.2.
I am trying to get the ORACLE 9i forms show_document to work.
I have successfully created an out file in the server directory.
I need the document to be displayed by the form.
Let me tell you more about my server.
I installed Oracle application server on drive E.
I copied my application to drive E and named PY which has 4 folders including :
E:\PY\fmb (for fmb)
E:\PY\forms (for fmx)
E:\PY\sql (for sql programs)
E:\PY\locrep (for lst files which are generated from sql programs)
Someone told me I should create a virtual directory, e.g. docs, in your httpd.conf file to point to e:\py\locrep
I've seen 4 httpd.conf files so I don't know which one I should modify and what should I type in exactly on what part ????

The best way to edit httpd.conf is using Enterprise Manager Website. Open this site (http://machine:1810) and drill down on your application server, and then on HTTP Server. Open link Advanced server Properties. Now you see a list of all configuration files. Click on a file to open it.
To add the virtual path:
- You could best add your virtual path in file forms90.conf (it is included in httpd.conf with the <include> tag).
- Within this file you already find some virtual path definitions: Look for the AliasMatch tag, e.g. for the 'forms90/html' virtual directory.
- Copy this line and change 'html' into the directory name you like to use, e.g. 'myfiles'. Map it to the physical directory (on your E: drive) where your files are. (E: must not be a network drive, however).
- browse to your files using: http://machine:7777/forms90/myfiles/filename.

1)disable A/V
2) Run: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

4) disable snap-ins exept DNS-snapin
5) run SDP
6) enable A/V
We could also re-install .Net 4.0 to check if the issue persist by the following link:

SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER Failed to create the CCM_Incoming Virtual Directory

I'm hoping someone could help me with this problem. I've searched so many websites trying to resolve this issue and it seems no matter what I try I keep getting the same error message.
I've followed the steps in setting up SCCM 07 from this web site which was very nicely done! I've also followed the directions on Microsofts Tech Net website on how to configure WebDav and IIS settings.
I'm working on a Virtual Windows Server 2008 32-bit OS, SP2, SCCM 07 SP2, IIS7
Here is the message I get in the log files:

I could be completely wrong but I read somewhere that with the latest version of IIS doesn't install these user accounts. I checked to see if those accounts existed and they didn't.
I've tried what this one website mentioned:

- Remove the MP role from the Site Server. Watch the MPSetup.log to ensure that the removal is complete.
- Uninstall the IIS component from the OS of the Site Server.
- Reboot the Site Server.
- Run ccmdelcert.exe from the SMS Toolkit.
- Reinstall the IIS component (with BITS) on the OS of the Site Server.
- Go into the IIS manager and allow WebDav.
- Add the MP role to the Site Server. Watch the MPSetup.log to ensure that the installation completes correctly.
These steps didn't seem to work, probably because it was for SMS 2003.

Remove the MP as a site system role (if it is still installed), wait for it to finish

Rename the %windir%\Tasks folder to something else (or move it)

Start the Task Scheduler Service (this will recreate the %windir%\Tasks folder)

Optional: Enable auditing on the \inetpub\wwwroot folder (and subfolders). Make sure to set local security policy to trap failures of file access. We will need this in case we see
the same security failure.

Reinstall IIS, BITS, WebDAV

Audition REALLY SLOW all of a sudden. What could cause this?

Within the last week Audition has gotten slower and slower. It takes 5-10 seconds at least for playback to start. It has become unworkable. What could cause this and what settings should I change to fix it?

*Once those are filled, are they like health points in a video game? Do I then get to square off with some giant, Photoshopped community expert from another forum for the right to become King of the Bad Forums? Maybe they just invite all the red-bar-full folks to some virtual tea party so they can all chat with each other about how wonderful it is to be in the exclusive red-bar club because they spent so much time posting on these forums rather than, say, being busy acutally using the software.
(Sometimes I forget that subtle sarcasm just doesn't translate well on the internet.)
I still don't know the point of the points, and perhaps never will.

Using deployment plan to change virtual directory mapping

Have anyone tried this before?
I have a deployment plan to add virtual directory to my weblogic descriptors as follow:
Inside <variable-definitions> tag:

      <value>C:/</value>
    </variable>
    <variable>
      <name>VirtualPath</name>
      <value>/Temp/*</value>
    </variable> Then in to add the virtual directory to weblogic.xml:

I also tried using the xpath for url-pattern as followed:
<xpath>/weblogic-web-app/virtual-directory-mapping/[local-path="C:/"]/url-pattern</xpath>
But I have the same error. The <url-patter> element is not added correctly to the virtual directory mapping tag.
It is supposed to work. Anyone has done this before ? or is this a bug of deployment plan.

I have looked at your link and modified my plan.xml accordingly ( the original plan is automatically generated by weblogic ). But I still get the same error. Could you have a look and tell me what's wrong?
