HFM version 9 and version 11x difference

What is the difference between version 9 and 11x version in HFM?

Workspace, other than U/I changes, looks pretty much the same to me at this point. (though I haven't used it a ton). I have a couple bugs I'm dealing with though, so it is a slight step in the wrong direction.
Workspace / Financial Reports
- 11.1.2.1, if I try to create a report book and then I add a report to it, an error pops up saying that you cannot add report books to a report book. The process completes ok, though....
- Additionally, if POV Preview is off (it is by default), you will get a very unhelpful invalid ItemID message more likely than not. This used to happen in Sys 9 as well, except that the error message was more helpful.
- In Sys 9 there is a side panel with items such as Full book in PDF, web preview, etc. This seems to be gone in 11.1.2.1
- If I run a really big report book, it takes a long time; however, the little progress bar goes away quickly into the process. If you wait, the report(s) eventually show up, but any reasonable e3nd user is going to think that the system hung up.
- Not only can you select POV items when running a report, but you can also pick the Database Connection you want to use at runtime. I've been DYING for this functionality. No more migrating a couple hundred and changing the connections when I need to test things in a Dev environment....
FDM
- Unmapped dimensions need to be mapped now. For instance, we don't use C1, C3, and ICP for most of our entities. Their import formats and mappings do not do anything with those dimensions. 9.3.1 (at least for us) automatically maps them to [None]/[ICP None]. This version doesn't do that. Fortunately, I'm good with SQL and I wrote a few queries to update all import formats and maps to add the necessary information.
Smartview
- Nothing to really say yet. Appears to work mostly the same, but we just do real basic stuff with Smartview.

I am trying to implement the equity pick up function to calculate the investment gain / loss in our consolidation app, but it's not working properly with version 11.1.2.2.
Does anyone have any experience of this function and please let me know your HFM version?

If its the case and still we want to use the "Is Calculated" on, how to recreate the EPU module funtionality in Sub Calculate as HS.entity.Owner, HS.entity.Owned and PEPU functions are restricted only to EPU modules.
Any suggestions or design consideration for writing it in SubCalculate.

HFM Taskflow Email and Data Export Not Working

Hello all,
I am attempting to set up the HFM taskflow email and Data export functionality. Unfortunately, the email is not working. I completed the set up of my SMTP mail using the EPM Configurator, and tested the email funtiontionality for FR and it works well. Not the case for Taskflow.
Is there an addtional seetings that needs to be configured. I am also unable to extract data using the taskflow. The export path is specified in the textbox, but the file is not exporting to the server location. Is there any type of port or setting that needs to be configured.
I am on version 11.1.2.1. Please help

I wanted to create a thread about this too. There is a big problem in Lightrooms email sending. Photos are sent inline but not as attachments. They need to be sent as attachments so that the email clients can save them easily.
This is actually important to some and responses by Adobe have not understood this.

As for your low res image. It is probably the setting you used, you might have it set to "email quality"

If i wanted to get the new ipod, could i just bring in my ipod touch and pay the difference?

I have the ipod touch, fourth generation. And i want to get the newest version of the ipod touch. Would i go to the apple store and give in my ipod and pay the difference to get the new ipod? Or would that not matter and i would still have to pay full price for the newest ipod?

Migrating HFM App from 4x to 11x

Can any one please let me know what are the steps to migrate a HFM App from 4x to 11x

Best practice.
Do not try to migrate from 4x to 11x. Rather start in 11x and rebuild your app. Sounds drastic but:
- 11 offer more test and checks
- This is a good clean-up exercise
- Using EPMA you would stabilise your environment
- You would be able to load some of the data from 4x to 11x
- Save your export metadata file in excel to a .ads format for easy upload.
- Better way to depoly your app

Rs 1000 difference is coming.

Somes after year end for audit / management adjustment entries postings done with previous year.
Execute N no of times Balance carry forward T.Code: FAGLGVTR until you get your closing balances & opening balances are the same. it is not harm to execute again & again.
up to 4.7EE for balance transfer you can use T.Code:F.16 from ECC 5 / 6 use tcode for balance transfer FAGLGVTR

Begin by making Row 6 a Footer Row. You will find that option in the row tab menu that appears when you hover over the 6 tab and click the triangle.
Then enter this formula in B6:

please I need a script to compare two oracle database tables and retrieves the differences in data records between the two tables.
I have tried this one :

But it generates the following error:

Ask your retailer. At worst, you can sell your iPhone 5 independently (of Apple and your retailer) and separately purchase the later model.

Thick client is the actual application client view. Most administrators limit that view to only them and provide a workspace (the thin client) as a method of accessing hfm. This is because more can be done in terms of metadata and security changes in the thick client than the thin client.
