  • What is the use of HFM workspace and Web service manager?

    Hi experts,
Can any one explain me the difference between Hyperion Workspace - Agent Service and
    HFM-Web service manager?
And how these services usefull for HFM workspace?
    Thanks
    Chandu

    Hi Chandu,
I would recommend you take a look at the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installation and Configuration Guide. It has all the answers to your questions. Here is the link:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_install_11121/launch.html

  • Smartview 11.1.2.1.103 problem: Merged cell in HFM workspace is unmerged in smartview

I have an error here in smartview 11.1.2.1.103. In HFM workspace, the form I designed has merged cell in row1. But I open the same form in smartview, row1 is not longer merged. Does anyone have the same problem?
PS: I've already set the option: excel formatting in smartview.

    Hi,
thanks for your answers. From all I could find out from Oracle support, I'll have to wait until 11.1.2.1 is GA and then try again :-(
Or will there be a patch for 11.1.2.0 as well?
    Best regards,
    Markus

    I am getting below error:
"Error connecting to database connection : no HssJNIDriver950 in java.library.path" initially and later
"Error connecting to database connection : com/hyperion/ap/adm/HssConn".
Any information in this direction would helpful.

    Hi bhargavr,
We came accross the same issue. Try the following solution below for this 'KNOWN ISSUE' and let me know how you get on. Drop me a note if you have any questions regarding this post.
Error: *"Error connecting to database connection: com/hyperion/ap/adm/HssConn" While Creating a Financial Management Database Connection* [ID 1102697.1]
Modified 04-JAN-2011 Type PROBLEM Status PUBLISHED
    Applies to:
    Hyperion BI+ - Version: 11.1.2.0.00 and later [Release: 11.1 and later ]
    Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)
    Symptoms:
You are running the Financial Reporting Web Server on a 64-bit server.
When you try to create a new Financial Management (HFM) database connection using the Database Connection Manager in Workspace you receive the following message:
“Error connecting to database connection <connection_name>: com/hyperion/ap/adm/HssConn”
You can create a database connection in Financial Reporting Studio. When you refresh a report with a Financial Management database connection, you receive one of the following messages:
“1001: Error connecting to database connection <DATABASE_CONNECTION_NAME>: com/hyperion/ap/adm/HssConn”
    or
“1001: Error connecting to database connection <DATABASE_CONNECTION_NAME>: no HssJNIDriver950 in java.library.path”
    Cause:
The issue is documented in unpublished bug 9537050, and in Known Issues in the 11.1.2 Reporting and Analysis Readme. Cross-reference unpublished bug 9707353.
    Solution:
In the Windows registry, take the following steps:
    Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HyperionSolutions\FinancialReporting0\HyS9FRReports.
For each of the following entries, prefix the contents with text in the blue box: Env2, JVMOption13, and JVMOption17 (note that the JVMOption numbers might be slightly different in your environment).
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\common\ADM\11.1.2.0\bin-64
If your EPM_ORACLE_HOME is not located at C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1, replace that location with your location.
    Restart the server.

    -David

  • FDM 11.1.1.3 Project in HFM Workspace 11.1.1.3

How will FDM Project be created in HFM Workspace 11.1.1.3 so that FDM will be accessed from Workspace.

You will need to manually create a project in Shared Services for the FDM Applications to be registered within.
I think you are confusing projects with links in workspace. FDM is not currently integrated in the workspace, however you can create a link to FDM from within an HFM application using Administration > Manage Documents.
    http://fdmwebservername/hyperionfdm/AuthorizedPages/LogonPage.aspx?AppName=FDMAPPNAME
Update the FDMWEBSERVERNAME and FDMAPPNAME variables to their corresponding values.
This link will then be launched from within the HFM Application in the workspace under the links folder.
    Hope this helps.

  • HFM/Workspace Navigation Hang Ups

    Hello Experts,
I have been facing an issue in my environment where users will intermittnelty become hung up within workspace while accessing the HFM application. A lot of times it seems like when you double click on a grid, run a consolidation, navigate between screents, HFM will hang up and the user will be forced to close out of internet explorer and reopen to temporarily resolve the issue. Has anyone else seen this issue or does anyone have any advice for how to make navigation of HFM within workspace more managable or smoother?
    Thank you for your help
    HFM/Workspace Version: 11.1.2.2
    IE: 8
HFM Application Server Specs: 8 CPUs  24 GB of RAM
HFM JVM Settings: 8 gb of allocated RAM
    SQL Server 2008 R2
I have investigated at the OS and database layer and have not been able to itentify a bottleneck.

It looks like there might be some errors but I cant understand it really, here is some of what I am seeing:

  • Getting " Application doesn't exist " in HFM workspace

    Hi ,
When I am trying to open a application in my HFM workspace i am getting below error
    " Specified Application doesn't exist"
    Code : - 2147220954
    Actor : General security Error.
I am able to open  other applications in HFM workspace  without any error.
Note : No other user is facing this issue and i was able to access this application last month .

This may not be the right forum for HFM issue but anyhow...
Did you check Oracle support article.
Financial Management Error "The specified application doesn't exist" After Changing Name Of Cluster Or Application (Doc ID 738003.1)
    Thx

  • 404 - File or directory not found - HFM WORKSPACE

    Hello All,
We are seeing the error below when a user logs onto an HFM app.
*"404 - File or directory not found.*
*The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or temporarily unavailable."*
When they click on Administration -> and any menu items, the error goes away and they are able to go to that navigation page.
Could anyone suggest how to prevent this from happening?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    SM

    Ok.
    Things to check:
#1 - If it is a default startup item from workspace, you can go to the preferences menu item and change that. (File --> Preferences --> General --> Default Startup Options)
#2 - If the default item is in the reports explorer, check preferences as well. (File --> Preferences --> Explore --> Default Folder
#3 - If none of that works, you can try clearing out the user preferences for the user by looking at the HFM database. Go to the following table : <app name>_USERPARAMS and pull all records that match the username (DB field = username) in question.  You can remove those rows from the table and it will reset that user's preferences.  I THINK HsvSystemInfo_LastContentSrc points to the last item they were using and deleting that might be sufficient, but I haven't had to do this in a while so I cannot say for sure.....

  • Re: Can I lock users out of HFM Workspace for maintenance?

    Hi All,
I am looking to Delete Invalid Records in HFM this week as we haven't done it in 3 years.  Our HFM database has swollen to 400 gb so I suspect this will be labour intensive.  I was hoping to block users from the system at this time.  They have been notified to stay out but they often creep in.  I tested this in QA and went to 'Manage Servers and Applications' and disabled connections.  However, I notice that I am able to log back in with a user's account.  It really didn't work.  Am I missing a step?
On another note, if I am deleting invalid records from HFM and planning to delete some data from FDM as well (periods, temp user tables, etc.), can I do this at the same time?  I suspect there are no dependencies between the two as they are seperate databases, but I wanted to confirm.
    Much Appreciated,
    Mike

Couple of things.  First, you're usually better off asking a new question in a new topic, keeps it more organized for future people looking to ask the same question.
As for your question, personally I just stop IIS on the web server since I do stuff like this via the HFM client.  If you take down IIS, it keeps out most users.  That said, Delete Invalid Records tends to freeze up the application anyway, so I run into the problem of users not being able to log in anyway even if I wanted them to.

  • Cannot create another application in hfm workspace

    Hi
I've successfully installed and configured epm products including hfm 11.1.1.3
I've successfully created an application but when I create another application the following warnings appear individually:
*''Shared Services is not initialized. Please retry the operation. If problem persists, please check the database configuration. Delete Apps from Project Failed : error.resourceNotFound.*
    *''%0''*
*''Error occurred while creating the application.''*
My environment: Win server 2003 on VM, EPM 11.1.1.3, and oracle 10g database.

Yes, but it also says in the apple documentation that:
A sandboxed app is allowed to launch a helper using Launch Services if at least one of these conditions has been met
Even if I did not pass the condition:
Both the app and helper pass the Gatekeeper assessment. By default that means both are signed by the Mac App Store or with a Developer ID.
I am pretty sure that the following condition has been met:
The app is installed in /Applications and the app bundle and all contents are owned by root.

  • HFM Workspace reports

    HI,
I am receiving error while trying to run a HFM FR report.
The error I received is as follows:
5201: Unexpected error creating query to datasource in CreateCubeViews
Kindly let me know in this regards.
    Regards,
    Ravi Shankar S

Do you mean export Hyperion report and reimport it? When you export a folder, it should export it into a zip file, please check you have generate the right zip file and when import, please select the right file type to import.

  • Locking down HFM Workspace menu options.

How do you suggest stopping end users from seeing the Administration drop down menu ? The menu that allows to see what end users are in the system. I would like the whole list blocked. I tried Shared services but it is not obvious.
    Thanks

I believe this is set during the installation/configuration of HFM on the HFM server. One of the steps in that process is to specify an Administrator group and an Application Creator group. Often I see * specified there instead of a group name resulting in all users having access to the Administration tasks. I believe that the group you specify must be an MSAD group and not a native Shared Services group.

Hi, created an application as described and this worked, but I still cannot log-in to workflow.
I am using IE9 with 11.1.2.2 Hyperion Planning, I have made the sight trusted, turned off pop-up blockers and ramped down the security for trusted, but still all I see is a window with 'Working......' and nothing beyond that.
    Thanks for your input,

  • HFM Workspace Logic Error

    Hello,
Trying to log on the workspace but getting the following error:
    Error Loading
    Adf ',/modules/com/hyperion/bpm/web/desktop/Adf.jsp?
    instance=0' for module id : bpm.Desktop
Does anyone know where this is coming from? I already check on Shared Services for this person's provisioning and it is all set. I have also checked for any pop up blockers or anything of that sort. What do you think should be the problem here? Any help is much appreciated. Thank you veyr much.
    -- Adi

Is this only occurring for one user? When I have seen these type of issues in the past when it references a specific web page, they have been problems with the web server. We have restarted the Workspace service and/or IIS and it fixed the issue.
