HFM Workspace reports
HI,
I am receiving error while trying to run a HFM FR report.
The error I received is as follows:
5201: Unexpected error creating query to datasource in CreateCubeViews
Kindly let me know in this regards.

Do you mean export Hyperion report and reimport it? When you export a folder, it should export it into a zip file, please check you have generate the right zip file and when import,please select the right file type to import.

Error While creating new database connection from HFM workspace
Hi,
We have recently installed HFM and was trying to create database connection from database connection manager in HFM workspace.
I am getting below error:
"Error connecting to database connection : no HssJNIDriver950 in java.library.path" initially and later
"Error connecting to database connection : com/hyperion/ap/adm/HssConn".
Any information in this direction would helpful.

Symptoms:
You are running the Financial Reporting Web Server on a 64-bit server.
When you try to create a new Financial Management (HFM) database connection using the Database Connection Manager in Workspace you receive the following message:
“Error connecting to database connection <connection_name>: com/hyperion/ap/adm/HssConn”
You can create a database connection in Financial Reporting Studio. When you refresh a report with a Financial Management database connection, you receive one of the following messages:
“1001: Error connecting to database connection <DATABASE_CONNECTION_NAME>: com/hyperion/ap/adm/HssConn”
or
“1001: Error connecting to database connection <DATABASE_CONNECTION_NAME>: no HssJNIDriver950 in java.library.path”
Cause:
The issue is documented in unpublished bug 9537050, and in Known Issues in the 11.1.2 Reporting and Analysis Readme. Cross-reference unpublished bug 9707353.
Solution:
In the Windows registry, take the following steps:
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HyperionSolutions\FinancialReporting0\HyS9FRReports.
For each of the following entries, prefix the contents with text in the blue box: Env2, JVMOption13, and JVMOption17 (note that the JVMOption numbers might be slightly different in your environment).
C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\common\ADM\11.1.2.0\bin-64
If your EPM_ORACLE_HOME is not located at C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1, replace that location with your location.
Restart the server.

Smartview 11.1.2.1.103 problem: Merged cell in HFM workspace is unmerged in smartview
I have an error here in smartview 11.1.2.1.103. In HFM workspace, the form I designed has merged cell in row1. But I open the same form in smartview, row1 is not longer merged. Does anyone have the same problem?

Or will there be a patch for 11.1.2.0 as well?

FDM 11.1.1.3 Project in HFM Workspace 11.1.1.3
How will FDM Project be created in HFM Workspace 11.1.1.3 so that FDM will be accessed from Workspace.
You will need to manually create a project in Shared Services for the FDM Applications to be registered within.
I think you are confusing projects with links in workspace. FDM is not currently integrated in the workspace, however you can create a link to FDM from within an HFM application using Administration > Manage Documents.

Update the FDMWEBSERVERNAME and FDMAPPNAME variables to their corresponding values.
This link will then be launched from within the HFM Application in the workspace under the links folder.

HFM/Workspace Navigation Hang Ups
Hello Experts,
I have been facing an issue in my environment where users will intermittnelty become hung up within workspace while accessing the HFM application. A lot of times it seems like when you double click on a grid, run a consolidation, navigate between screents, HFM will hang up and the user will be forced to close out of internet explorer and reopen to temporarily resolve the issue. Has anyone else seen this issue or does anyone have any advice for how to make navigation of HFM within workspace more managable or smoother?

HFM JVM Settings: 8 gb of allocated RAM
SQL Server 2008 R2
I have investigated at the OS and database layer and have not been able to itentify a bottleneck.It looks like there might be some errors but I cant understand it really, here is some of what I am seeing:

Getting " Application doesn't exist " in HFM workspace
Hi ,
When I am trying to open a application in my HFM workspace i am getting below error
" Specified Application doesn't exist"
Code : - 2147220954
Actor : General security Error.
I am able to open other applications in HFM workspace without any error.
Note : No other user is facing this issue and i was able to access this application last month .This may not be the right forum for HFM issue but anyhow...

404 - File or directory not found - HFM WORKSPACE
Hello All,
We are seeing the error below when a user logs onto an HFM app.
*"404 - File or directory not found.*
*The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or temporarily unavailable."*
When they click on Administration -> and any menu items, the error goes away and they are able to go to that navigation page.
Could anyone suggest how to prevent this from happening?

Things to check:
#1 - If it is a default startup item from workspace, you can go to the preferences menu item and change that. (File --> Preferences --> General --> Default Startup Options)
#2 - If the default item is in the reports explorer, check preferences as well. (File --> Preferences --> Explore --> Default Folder
#3 - If none of that works, you can try clearing out the user preferences for the user by looking at the HFM database. Go to the following table : <app name>_USERPARAMS and pull all records that match the username (DB field = username) in question. You can remove those rows from the table and it will reset that user's preferences. I THINK HsvSystemInfo_LastContentSrc points to the last item they were using and deleting that might be sufficient, but I haven't had to do this in a while so I cannot say for sure..... -
Error executing Query - Workspace report error.
Hi All,
One of our user is getting "5200:Error executing Query" message while running the report in Hyperion Financial reporting workspace,how ever if I run this report with my login on his system I am able to run it.
Could you please put some flash on it what may be the reason behind the same.

Thanks,Hi, in general the 5200 error means that the user cannot connect to run the report.
What this means is that the user either doesn't have:
- the necessary Workspace permissions, or
- the necessary data source permissions to run the report. This can either be correct essbase permissions or perhaps the report uses a member they do not have access to see.
I think from memory there should be a Details button on the error message which the user sees which should provide more detailed information. Can you confirm and reply back?

I am using HFM 11.1.1.3 SQL 2005 Windows server 2003 SP2
I am trying to generate a system default journal report in pdf format, however the system returns "access denied" error message. The same message also appear for generating XLS format.
The journal report can be successfully generated in hfm format and html format.
Anyone has idea? please help.
I have already grant the full control to everyone and anonymous to the hyperion home folder.

I believe that the issue is with the security privileges on the folder that the report is created. The folder can be something similar to: D:\Oracle\Middleware\User_Projects\EPMSystem1\products\FinancialManagement\Web
If you search MySupport, you will find an article with the name of the windows folder that you should grant access to the user Everyone.

AVSRI think the best way to produce custom security files is using the HFM API. You can use this to report on group memberships and roles and class access. You can read all about it in the Web Developer's Guide Chapter 10. The chapter starts:
The HFMwSecurity type library contains the HFMwSecurity component. This component
provides methods that enumerate an application’s security classes, indicate whether a user has
rights to perform a given task, and return other types of security information.
I have seen these used to great effect. -

GaryAn option is to look at the SDK and see if there is a way for you to make a Java call to do what you are trying to do.
The SDK is part of the Services Install Package.
I have used the SDK to make a call to the External Event Trigger.

11.1.1.3 Workspace report prompt delay
Running v11.1.1.3 on Linux RAC with Weblogic. Encountering slow performance when accessing a report with prompts via the workspace. When a report is selected using prompts for the 1st time in a new workspace session, we are experienceing extremely slow response times for the prompt window to be brought back. The next time a report is initiated, the prompt is returned very quickly probably due to some caching.
Has anyone else experienced the same behavior?This is due to the RMI service that will populate the dimension members list.
I noticed that it's slow at our setup (Windows 2003 Server) as well.

When user trying to run journal report from HFM/Parent Curr Adjs, getting the below error. It works with Entity Curr Adjs. User can able to run the report(Parent curr adjs) for Oct and Nov months, but getting error for Aug and Sep months.
