HH3 - That's it, I've had enough - would a HH4 cur...
Just a quick post, not!. I've made many posts regarding issues the hub2/3 a/b, but I'm posting this now as I'm getting too much ear ache from her indoors, 1 youtube obsessed pre teen and 1 know it all teen. I can take no more
For as long as I can remember, the wifi for us has been pure poop.
Every device via wifi has never been that good - switched the Wii to a USB to Ethernet adapter which gave the connection a 99% improvement.
I've tried almost everything I can think of to find a cure - I'm still searching.
I've done static, DHCP, WPA, WPA2, WPA&WPA2, Smart wifi on/off, whole house powered down bar the hub and one device etc etc etc.
Our incoming mains voltage used to peak at 270VAC, yes 270, but would sit around 253-257. I'm fully aware of the UK regs so based on this, the voltage issue has very recently been rectified (only took 14 years to get them to do something about it). I would say I can now rule this out
Today has been worse than normal - mobiles give no network connection or any other type of error message - slow to load - web pages almost load and then drop - you name it, it's happened. PC and android based wifi analysers show nothing wrong, but the hub shows stacks.
Some of our devices that were named by me are returning to their default names on the hub (after "Hostname" on the event log.

There are currently 3 virgin super hubs nearby (not the newest ones being trialled by VM customers), a few BT hub's (with BTWifi), 1 stalkstalk router and several that I don't know whom their ISP is.
Does anyone think a HH4 on 5Ghz only would help?

Life after the Treo 680 - Ive had enough of Palm
Ive had enough of Palm Im afraid.
I started life with a Palm V, then Vx then Zire.
Because my Palm Desktop has so much critical info on my customers I bought a Treo 680.
Now its keyboard doesnt work, I cant even turn the bugger on - I have to reinsert the battery to get the screen to light.
The touch screen still works but thats useless cause you cant do anything - like make a phone call.
So Ive had to put the Sim Card into an old I-mate Jasjam - hate that phone and of course no contact info at my finger tips.
I bought the Treo 680 cause it sync'd all my Palm Desktop but after only 6 months its stuffed.
Where should I go now?
Can I export all my Palm Desktop contacts to Outlook? I cringe at the thought of using Windows Mobile OS.
Open to suggestions ...... thanks from down under.

It will let you make an exact duplicate of your device on the card, can do it "automagically" if you desire! I install and evaluate many new programs each week, and I have had to restore with NVBackup when some new program suddenly scrambles years of hard work and stability in my Palm Devices! When you install the program, it will also install a copy of itself to your SD card.

I had enough of BS that comes with Microsoft Visual Studio,
Using Ultimate 2013 with update 4 and here is my experience after 40 days of trial usage:
1. IT HANGS for no reason most of the time
2. creating projects takes 20 minutes and mostly results in "Microsoft Visual Studio is not responding..."
3. git source control takes about half a hour to push a commit or to do other kind of operations.
4. repairing Visual Studio made it even worse
5. "Microsoft Visual Studio is not responding..."
6. "Microsoft Visual Studio need to restart..."
7. and when it does restart it opens a solution on which I worked yesterday WTF??
8. I lost my work because Microsoft Visual Studio needed to restart and didn't save my settings!!
9. to much BLOATWARE!

HAD ENOUGH - NOT GETTING WHAT I WAS CONTRACTED FOR...
I have unlimited broadband and calls.
I have previously had free text messaging and therefore not been charged.
Indeed it shows on previous bills as being free. I send about 40 texts a month.
I noticed that I was being charged in October bill lfor text mesaaging and called BT - I have called BT numerously previously in the last 4 weeks and was told that it was an error and I would be refunded. This took about 3 hours on the phone and about as long online chatting. I thought that was it.
I went online today to check my bill and found that I was still being charged and no refund.
I have spent 2 hours+ on the phone, being told that :
I needed to talk with repairs and was passed to them only to be told that it wasnt their deparment and was passed back to billing. Billing passed me onto someone else and so it went on only to be passed back to billing.
Billing then tell me that even though I should get free texts I will have to pay 10p for each text!!!
I told them that when I took out my contract it included 200 free texts. I was then told that my contract had changed and it no longer included free texts.
I have anytime calls and unlimited broadband and at the time I took it out it included 200 free texts a month.
I have got no were in 4 weeks each time I try I get passed from one person to another each telling me different things.
Can someone please tell me how to sort this out? I have had enough.
Do I get 200 free text message as per my contract or dont I?
If my contract has been changed why wasnt I told?

I am trying to open iTunes on my mac. But a box pops up saying "The folder iTunes is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder". Anyone know what that means? I've had my computer 2 years and its never had a problem opening it
I've already right-clicked on the application, clicked "get info", and changed it so all people listed in the "Sharing & Permissions" section have the "read & write" privilage.
The error message is referring to your iTunes library, not your iTunes application.
You need to check and fix the permissions of the iTunes folder in your iTunes library. This is by default located in your "Music" folder.
Select the folder Music > iTunes in the Finder, right click on it or Ctrl Click and click "Get Info". At the bottom of the contextual window thatwill pop up, disclose the Sharing and Permissions brick, change your status from Read only to Read & Write. You may need to click the padlock icon to make changes. -
I downloaded an album and one single that I purchased just fine and then purchases another single and I keep getting an error message that says, You don't have enough access priviledges. What can I do to get this song? I am just going to have to ask for a refund and forget it?
What version of iPhoto do you have installed? Is if one of the versions shown as not compatible in this screenshot?
If it is then go to the App Store and download iPhoto 9.5. It will be free if you have an iPhoto 9 or later verson currently.

I logged in to pay my bill via the app yesterday and my stored form of payment was gone. Since I wasnt at home I didnt have access to my checking account now nor a credit card. This is the first time in 14 years that my online account has had this issue and NO my stored card is not expired. My payment is now going to be late and i was going to get a new phone oin the Edge plan too. Am I going to get charged a late fee and does tgis affect my eligibilityafter 14 years of on time payments! And why did you wipe out my stored payment info?

Oh my goodness! That is not what we like to hear. Were you able to log in online not through the My Verizon App? Did it show the card available in there? Is this the same card that you have used for past payments? Let's look a little closer.

Do you have access to another Mac? If so contact the two via a Firewire cable, boot your problem Mac into Target Disk Mode, Transferring files between two computers using FireWire,, and try to use Disk Utiltiy from the second Mac to reformat and erase your hard drive.

I was researching information for a class and I clicked on a website that said that all of my files had been encrypted. A popup appeared and asked if I wanted to leave the page but when I tried to, it would let me. I had to force quit Safari in order to do so. How do I know if this is a real problem or not?
It's a JavaScript scam that only affects your web browser, and only temporarily.
1. Some of those scam pages can be dismissed very easily. Press command-W to close the tab or window. A huge box will pop up. Press the return key and both the box and the page will close. If that doesn't happen, continue.
2. From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and uncheck the box marked Enable JavaScript. Leave the preferences dialog open.
Close the malicious window or tab.
Re-enable JavaScript and close the preferences dialog.
3. If the Preferences menu item is grayed out, quit Safari. Force quit if necessary. Relaunch it by holding down the shift key and clicking its icon in the Dock. From the menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
to get rid of any cookies or other data left by the server. Open your Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize. -
I downloaded and installed Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements. I then launched Photoshop Elements Organizer and imported approx. 28,000 photos (including some videos). A window opened indicating that many of the photos had tags, and asking if I wanted to add the tags. I said yes, and the process began. When it reached 60% a window opened indicating that "Elements 13 Organizer has stopped working", with the only option being to "Close program."
I've since tried to open organizer several times, but it goes immediately to "Elements 13 Organizer has stopped working". I was able to open Editor, and tried opening Organizer from Editor, but encountered the same problem.
FYI, I have an open case (#0214505556), but have not received the help I need.This issue is with respect to Elements 13.

* Removed the logic that tracked when cached SWC had been removed from
the library path, because it wasn't working correctly in some cases
and it is no longer necessary due to revision 5524.

Updated validateCompilationUnits() to no longer report
DependentFileNoLongerExists.

How can I fix the text in my photo book that reads"your default text had not been edited. Printed books will not include this text?"
You will get this warning, if your book includes textboxes that still include the default text, like "Insert Title". You need to find these boxes and add your own text. Look for boxes like this:

What does it mean when I get a message that says You do not have enough access privileges for this operation
To be honest I'd be very tempted to ring Applecare and explain that prior to downloading iOS5 your iPod Touch worked perfectly however since downloading Apple's new iOS5 it's "bricked" therefore can they as a matter of decency try to help put things right warranty situation notwithstanding. Afterall it does appear to be one of Apple's products that has broken your previously working iPod Touch.

When I try to sync music into my iPod Touch 5 the iTunes responds saying that I have don't have enough free space to sync the music however there is enough space. Even when I try to unsync the songs from the iPod it won't get deleted the songs will stay in the iPod.
