HH5 Firmware downgrade?

Following several months without any drop outs, I'm getting sick of the continual wifi drop outs due to the firmware "upgrade". Is there anyway I can revert to the previous version?
Why has there been no further information from BT about resolving this issue, which is obviously affecting more than a "small number of people"? The config changes have made no difference - I'm losing wifi to all devices about once an hour, if not more and it is making online gaming frustrating for the kids.
If you can't fix it after several weeks BT at least allow us to revert to the previous functional firmware.

I second this. I am also getting dropouts several times in 1 hour, but at the moment I've gone 1 hour and 30 minutes without it dropping.

  • IX4-300D firmware downgrade

Upgraded firmware to 4.1.112.33292 for added security, Now there is not enough space to install optware. I get as far as installing gcc and then error installing python. My previous firmware was 4.0.4.14600, so I tried to download this version from http://download.lenovo.com/nas/releasenotes/lifeline-rn-v4.0.4.pdf which refers to the link: ftp://asgimage:[email protected]/h4c-
4.0.4.14600.zip but the link is dead. So, my only option is to downgrade to 4.0.2.9960 because it is the only other version that is available. So I download this and try to downgrade but i get the message "error, the update file is not valid". My request is simple....Please provide clear instructions on how to downgrade the firmware and supply working links to previous firmware versions.

  • Firmware downgrade helped - for what it's worth

For quite some time now I experienced problems with my WDS Airport network at my home office (Airport Extreme base and Airport Express remote - NAT provided by OS X Server 10.3). My MacBook Pro would have problems staying connected to my Airport network. Kept on disconnecting, or showed that it was connected, but couldn't see any of the Airport base stations. Very strange.
I also noticed that it must have had something to do with my neighbors' wireless networks around me. It seemed that whenever a neighbor's wireless network came online it bumped me off.
Anyway, after experimenting with WEP, WAP and WAP2 encryptions, as well as with Open network settings only with access control list I gave up. My MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo simply couldn't stay connected.
So I started digging around a bit and I found posts that described similar issues for others with other computer models like Power Book G4, iMac, etc. Now, my Power Book G4 never had any issues staying connected to my Airport network (used to anyway).
I read in one of the posts that it may have something to do with the Airport Extreme (V5.7) and Express (V6.3) Firmware updates. So I decided to take the plunge backwards and downgrade my Airport Extreme/Express Firmwares to V6.1.1 for Express and V5.5.1 for Extreme.
The downgrade went ok. Initially I had no connection (I guess because my last setting used WAP2 which is not available for the older Firmwares, so the config file was not the right format), but after resetting my Airport Base Stations to WAP I had connection.
At night I put all of the computers on the Airport Network to sleep. In the morning I woke my Mac Book Pro from sleep only to discover that no Airport Network was available.
So I logged in to the Airports from the server and pretty much tried everything. Set it to WEP 40, WEP 128, back to WAP encryption.. nothing worked (non of the computers on the Airport Network were able to connect anymore). So I finally gave up and had to settle for an open network without encryption, only access control list and closed network, and guess what. It worked. All computers can once again connect to the Airport network, and no matter what goes on with my neighbors and their networks I can stay connected. Putting the Mac Book Pro to sleep, waking up.. connected. No more disconnects now for the last 24 hours. I know it's too soon to tell.
But it seems that there may be some sort of problem with the latest Airport Firmware upgrades. Downgrading must have destroyed something though, because now none of the encryptions are working anymore.
If anyone has any idea on what I could do to solve this issue, that would be appreciated. Should I try to hard reset both base stations? Maybe that would do the trick?
Also, could it be that I may have copied old files with the migration assistant that belong to the PowerPC Airport drivers? Maybe that is messing things up. Anyway, have no clue.
All in all, I am happy with my Airport network, but not being able to have encryption worries me a bit. Also the speed leaves room for improvement. I have never seen my Airport network go faster than 12 Mb/s (of a theoretical 54Mb/s ... wow).
Anyway.. just thought I would throw this out there and see if someone has anything to contribute.

I feel your pain. Started logging on this morning with our computers (once we got power back on from a broken pipe) and man is it a mess. My wifes MacBook Pro wont remember our ABES network, nor will it show up. If we select other from the drop down airport icon and manually type in the name and password it is fine until we shut it down or restart it.
Unfortunately, my daughters newer iBook G4 cant even find our network, however, it will find other networks floating around the neigborhood. Go figure!
My sons snow G3 iMac this morning is having the same problem as my daughters laptop.
Our G4 iMac has no problem at all getting on the network and/or remembering it and automatically connecting to it when restarted/shutdown.
My Toshiba M35 laptop cant find the network but will find others and connect to them.
My 2 Dell Inspiron 5100 (one with an internal and another with a Belkin PCMCIA wireless) both connected to the base stattion with no problems.
Now, isnt that weird or what? We have soft reset the AEBS several times as well as hard reset with the same results as above. Anybody have any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Sean
P.S. This is after we have been running the current network/setup for about a year with no hiccups. Got to love apple and its firmware upgrades!

  • HP-8600 plus Firmware Downgrade

I just got an 8600 aka CM750A that is rejecting the ink cartridges I bought after the install cartridges got used up. It tells me to get the OEM ones over and over but I got a whole case of these LMI ones, which were much cheaper than OEM. Looks like my version of firmware from what i read is rejecting the cartridges.
The version I have CKP5CN1334ER apparently i need the CLP1CN1322CR in order to get these cartridges to work.
Is there a method to do a forced downgrade?
Heres where i found the info about the firmware conflict and my cartridges:

It may have nothing to do with the firmware of your machine. What is the Kernel cache error? Bootcamp is one option to upgrade firmware of the SSD.
The Samsung SSDs come with Magician, which should allow you test the performance and integrity of the SSD. If it is a HW issue, you should be able to get a replacement. Samsung originally had offered a 5-year warranty on the 840 Pro SSDs.
The other option is a down-loadable .iso from Samsung Support website.

  • E90 Firmware - downgraded?

What is going on with E90 firmware? Aside from the fact that it's buggy and incomplete, it hasn't had an update in months. It might even have had a downgrade.
My current firmware version is 400.34.93 (unbranded).
However, the latest firmware for my product code (0533332) is shown as 300.34.84.
Of course, this means the firmware update tool thinks I'm up to date already.
What happened? Why has the number gone down? How do "downgrade" and is it actually an upgrade in this case?
Maybe somebody competent can help me here (this isn't the first time direct messages to Nokia support have gone unanswered).
    Thanks.
    Simon

Maybe I'm not competent but keep in mind we're all users here and we can only make suggestions.
As you wrote, your 400.34.93 firmware is buggy and incomplete. That could very well be the reason why Nokia rolled back the firmware update, even though it's weird. Use Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Software Updater to reinstall the firmware.

  • Firmware downgrade from 1.2.1 to 1.1.0

    Per the release notes
Because of a change to the bootloader in firmware version 1.2.1(004), downgrading to earlier versions is not possible.
However I took one that was on 1.2.1 and pointed it at my 1.1.0 firmware and it looks like it worked.  The device shows 1.1.0 now.
Are there any expexted issues related to running on this.  The devices are registered and I have not had any issues in my lab.

    Hello Sage Major,
Previous "beta" versions of 1.2.x firmware allowed downgrading to v1.1.0(011).  However, the official release of v1.2.1(004) will not permit downgrading back to v1.1.0(011).
v1.2.1(004) is a much better firmware version and addresses many issues that were present in v1.1.0(011).  The SPA1x2 ATA will still perform but downgrading back to v1.1.0(011) would revert its capabilities backwards and eliminate the improvements developed in the latest release.

  • SPA508G broken by firmware downgrade

For the purpose of debugging of secure provisioning I need to have a SPA508G with the "factory default" firmware, e.g. 7.4.3. So I got the one (with current 7.5.6 firmware) and downgraded it.
The downgrade itself has been successful, but the phone don't start now - dark display, ni LED lighting, even in the case the LAN cable is not connected.
I assume that 7.4.3 firmware is incompatible with either saved configuration or saved dictionary. So bootloader verify that there is valid firmware image, start it, but such image choke on configuration.
Well. Now I need either delete saved configuration or re-upgrade the phone to a new firmware.
But bootloader detected valid firmware, no S.O.S. Recovery mode is available. I can't upgrade the phone using such upgrade mode.
As phone is not starting, it's no way to upgrade it in standard mode nor reset it to factory default.
Any idea how to recover the phone ?

    Frank,
This is a issue that needs to go to the SBSC (1-866-606-1866), open a case.

  • Issues Solves - Firmware Downgrade, iMac & AppleTV Losing Airport

Thanks to this forum. Just wanted to re-iterate these issues that were solved.
Sometimes things are just so simple you overlook them. To downgrade your AEBS firmware,
just go to manual setup, and when you hold your mouse over VERSION, you can select the previous version of firmware. As others have reported, I have found 7.2 to be better than 7.2.1.
As for the iMac losing the Airport, turns out the 5GHz mode was the culprit. I have since switched to 2.4GHz mode, and all is now stable.
Lastly the AppleTV was STILL having trouble with 2.4GHz mode. After letting it sit for awhile, I'd always have to type in my WPA2 password. Needless to say, that's a pain. Some have said switch to WEP, but WPA2 is more secure. So I have tried the other suggestion ... switch from Automatic Channel selection to a fixed Channel, specifically Channel 9. That has worked for me.
Until Apple releases firmware that can fix all these issues people are having,
    these are good workarounds.

I feel your pain. Started logging on this morning with our computers (once we got power back on from a broken pipe) and man is it a mess. • SG200-08 Firmware Downgrade

    Hi,
I have two identical SG200-08 units, 1 unit has firmware version 1.0.1.0 and the other has firmware version 1.0.5.1 (the lastest firmware - I upgraded this unit 6 months ago).
The unit running the v1.0.1.0 has been running flawless.
The unit running the v1.0.5.1 hasn't been running so flawless, I find that after a couple weeks of use, the HTTP web configuration becomes extremely slow, to the point that it times out while trying to load pages, if I try and ping the unit, I am getting response times of 300-400ms (usually it is 2-3ms). The switch itself seems to pass traffic still but I do get pixelization on my IPTV stream from time to time. If I power cycle the unit, it returns to normal, ping times of 2-3ms, the HTTP web confguration becomes quick, pages load instantly, everything seems to work good for another couple of weeks.
I did happen to stumble upon this post:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2169061
I haven't noticed if my CPU utilization jumps like mentioned in the above post. I will have to check the next time before I reset the unit.
If I do discover that I have the same CPU utilization issue (to which there seems to be no solution to resolve it), can I downgrade the firmware from 1.0.5.1 to 1.0.1.0?
    Thanks!

    Hi Tom,
There was no second image stored so here is what I did:
I logged into the unit running 1.0.1.0, did a firmware backup.
I logged into the unit running 1.0.5.1 and did a firmware upgrade using the 1.0.1.0 image.
I crossed my fingers, because I wasn't sure if it would brick the unit, and when the unit rebooted it came back up as 1.0.1.0.
All seems well thus far, hopefully Cisco will release 1.0.5.1+ firmware but until that time I plan to stick with 1.0.1.0.
    Thanks!

  • Firmware downgrade possible

    Hello,
i'm owning a TimeCapsule 3g v7.5.2,after using it for at least 3 months, the internet / wlan connection went terribly slow! I've read in several threads that downgrading to v. 7.4.2 or 7.5.1 might fix this problem. Is it possible to downgrade to one of these versions with the third gen? If yes, where can i found older firmwares? Selecting it via AirPort Utility (v.5.5.3) it's only possible to select a firmware file and not to choose a version.
    Thanks for your help!!

    Hi Bob,
thanks for your help. Now i managed to download old firmwares. But selecting it on the "overview" Tab in manual Setup of my TC was not possible. By clicking on the Version Entry only a file chooser appears, though i downloaded only firmwares for 3g TC.
I tried the procedure with older version of my Airport Express and so i think the TC seems not to be downgradable, though i downloaded only 3g TC Firmwares.... strange behaviour...
Does anyone know, where the firmware files are located after downloading? That might be the last chance....? (i didn't found them under "Library/Application Support/Apple/... where i expected them to be)

  • 3GS firmware downgrade to restore 2.x iPhone backup

I had an iPhone 3G that died May 2009, I will be getting an iPhone 3GS soon and I want to import my old phone as it was.
I don't want to just sync contacts, etc.
I want my old text messages, favorites, google map bookmarks, everything like it was when my last iPhone backup ran in May..
Can I downgrade firmware to 2.2 or whatever it was back then and then software update back to the current and keep all my settings?
    Has anyone done it?
I assume it won't even see the old iPhone backup from 2.x when I hook up a 3.X firmware phone

    It will see your backup just fine & keep the current firmware. Just follow the directions here;
