Hi,about routing

what difference between logical routing and technical routing?
what do both respectively in runtime?

Hi Joy !!
Routing
defines how the messages flow via XI (where to, via what) receiver and interface determinations in directory
Logical routing involves the definition of business services/systems for your interface.i.e we difine the flow of messages in a system landscape
Technical routing involves the definition of the communication channels, adapters, etc.
From a general point of view, whenever you talk about logical routing as such, it deals with the security and authentication aspect. By mentioning the business sytems/services for the interface, you are clearly telling, which client and logical system name XI should talk to, to either send or receive data..
.and technical routing involves exactly how the data will be sent or received.
Routing is one of the steps of the pipeline process.

  • Question about router WRT54 GL

    Good afternoon, I have following problem/question about router: WRT54GL.
    I configured the router to operate in my network without any problems except for the following:
    When I made tests of speed on computer which is connected directly to the cable from my ISP (ethernet, speed 64 mbit /s during download). When I connected the cable from ISP to the router and router is connected to the PC also using ethernet(from router port 1 to the pc) the speed behind a router decreased to 20 mbit. What I am doing wrong? or is it just a limitation in router's performance?
    Thanx for any help
    Johny Krekan,
    [email protected]

    Open the setup page of the router.
    Set the MTU to Manual and change the size to 1365.
    Save the settings and power cycle the router. Check the speed.
    Make sure that firmware on your router is latest.

  • About routing

    Dear all,
    I have a case about routing. I  create a routing for a material. but  I have an operation that use different material at the same time. for example,
    A material and B material is processing at the same time.
    how can I define this case? is there a routing type or routing property for this case?
    thanks in advance,
    best regards,
    hilal

    Hi Hilal
    Please understand, Routing is created for header material. To manufacture this header material . We need components and this components has to go through number of operation in sequence.
    In the above sequence of operation, the components are allocated to the required operation. You can assign number of components to one operation.  But one component cannot be assigned to number of operation.
    Do components allocation in Routing.
    Hope this will clear your doubt.

  • Confused About Router Whereabouts

    Alright here's the basic gist: I'm totally lost. I just bought a Wireless -G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster and a Wireless -G PCI Adapter with Speedbooster, okay? So I go an hook up my Compaq computer and discover I dunno what to even do. Alright, to start off the Adapter doesn't seem to have anywhere to be slotted in but forget that fact -right now that's not important. What I'm concerned with is this router of yours. The modem is my problem. You see, I have my modem hooked up to my Dell computer, and the Compaq is the only other one I'm setting up. So what am I to do? Connect the router to the Dell because its the one with the modem? My family is telling me that the router AND adapter both need connected into my Compaq -the one lacking modem so there for no internet. Meanwhile, I'm convinced I'm to put the router on the modem of the Dell and have the adapter in the Compaq. Yet no one agrees with me and they all think I dunno what I'm talking about. Yet how can I connect my router to my Compaq if it doesn't own a modem? I'm not suppose to go out and buy another modem? No....then what would be the point of your products? Ah, I'm asking stupid questions. So yeah, I guess what I'm asking is : I know my adapter goes on the Compaq, so is the router to go on the Dell? And if not, how am I to set it up on the Compaq when the Compaq lacks a modem? Please, any help would be greatly appericated.

    I assume you want to have a wired connection for your Dell and a wireless connection for your Compaq.  I also assume that the "modem" you are talking about is a high speed cable or DSL or ADSL modem, and not a 56K modem.  I also assume that the Compaq is a desktop or tower computer, and not a laptop.  (Note: if the Compaq is a laptop, the wireless G PCI will not fit.)
    First, follow the instructions that came with your router, and use the setup disk that came with the router.  It will give you step by step instructions, telling you when to connect your computer to the router and when to connect the router to the modem.
    Ultimately you will have connections like this:
    modem ---- router ----- Dell computer.
    After you get your wired internet connection up and running, then try to set up your Compaq computer.
    The wireless PCI card must be installed inside the Compaq computer (the antena part will stick out the back of the computer).  Follow the directions that came with the wireless PCI card.  The wireless card will send out a radio signal and connect wirelessly (via the radio signal) to the router.  The router will allow you to share the internet connection with both of your computers.
    You do not need a second modem.  The router needs only one modem.  Both computers connect to the router, and through the same modem.
    If you prefer to use a wired connection to your Compaq computer, you can wire the router to the 10/100 port on the Compaq.  In this case, you would not need the wireless G PCI adapter.

  • Naive question about router

    Hi, all,
    First, I'm definitely a beginer in network field, I don't know much about routers.
    Recently, I got a CISCO2610XM router. I tried to use it to set up a LAN and connect the LAN to the network.
    However, I found the router only have one FastEthernet0/0 port, and other two ports are console and aux (which I think are used to configure the router, am I right?).
    Do I need extra network module (card) to connect to the LAN? And what card should I choose?
    The figure I planed for my LAN is:
    Network
    |
    |
    ROUTER 2610XM
    |
    |
    A Linux box (Squid, as a cache engine)
    |
    |
    A Switch (NetGear GS105 Gigabit Switch)
    |
    |
    several computers
    Thanks in advance.
    Joe

    I did not realized you had in mind ISP , this changes things, but lets assume you'll have a static IP for ISP_INternet connection , I'll see if can get a chance to lab this out ,this is a quick setup but you still need to configure some security ACLs.
    On 2610XM router:
    ip routing
    interface FastEthernet0/0
    Description CONNECTION TO 2950_SW_PORT_24
    no ip address
    no ip proxy-arp
    duplex full

    interface FastEthernet0/0.2
    Description VLAN2
    encapsulation dot1Q 2 ( for vlan 2 on switch )
    ip address ISP_STATIC_IP
    ip nat outside
    interface FastEthernet0/0.3
    Description VLAN3

    ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 ISP_router_interface_IP_address
    on the switch config something like this:
    vlan database
    vtp domain test_net
    vtp mode transparent
    vlan 2 name outside_ISP_Internet
    vlan 3 name 192.168.2.0_subnet
    vlan 4 name 192.168.3.0_subnet
    vlan 5 name 192.168.4.0_subnet
    vlan 6 name 192.168.5.0_subnet
    exit
    interface fe0/1
    description connection_ISP_Router
    switchport access vlan 2
    speed 100
    duplex full
    no cdp enable
    no shutdown
    interface fe0/2
    description connection_PC1
    switchport access vlan 3
    speed 100
    duplex full
    no shut
    interface fe0/3
    description connection_PC2
    switchport access vlan 4
    speed 100
    duplex full
    no shut
    etc..
    interface fastethernet0/24
    Description Trunk to 2610XM_FE_PORT
    switchport mode trunk
    Physical would look something like this.
    INternet-ISP-router 2610XM

    PCs
    [Edit]
    For the Squid server say you have a spare public IP of 2.2.2.2 and Squid local IP is 192.168.2.254 you can create a static NAT on 2610XM router as:
    ip nat inside source static 192.168.2.254 2.2.2.2
    in addition to access list to allow inbound access through public IP.

  • A little confusion about router

    I understand that I can use my Airport Extreme Base Station as my secondary router.  Am I correct that I leave all my Cat5 cables plugged into the Airport Extreme and run a Cat 5 from the FIOS router to the WAN of the Airport, and turn off the radio of the FIOS router?  By doing this do I loose and functions? Keep in mind I have TV, Internet and Phone.

    There is a great deal of information  on DSL Reports about the configuration of the Airport Extreme as a secondary router in FiOS installations.  In fact there are many step-by-step recipes for a  wide variety of installation options, and tables that show which FiOS functions (e.g.., Caller ID, Media Manager) operate successfully under  the various configurations.  I am far from expert in such things but the DSL information made installing and configuring my secondary router quite easy.

  • Question about router

    Hi,
    I have an old route- A linksys 80211b. I have had it for probably about 4 years. I have 2 computers networked via hard wire and a wireless print server.
    I often have a problem with my internet connection. I have a fast cable connection.
    But I will go to safari and a page starts to load ans then stops in the middle. I then need to hit refresh a few times to get the page loaded. First I thought it was my computer, but realized that the it does this on both my macs. By the way it does not do it on my PC.
    I went to compusa today and they suggested that I get a new router. they had me buy a dlink 108G mimo. They felt this would solve the problem,
    I did not even open the box yet but wondering if everyone else out there agrees it is time to upgrade my router and this may be a soloution to the problem.
    Part 2 of my question is will the dlink connect to my linksys 80211.g print server?
    Any insight would be great.

    I don't think it's the Router... might be of course, you could tell by hooking one computer directly to the Modem.
    I think it might be the Modem...

  • About routing text read using fm CP_EX_PLAN_READ

    Hi,
    I am writing a program to copy routing from one plant to another. Everything works great except for long text. I did search the forum but could not find any helpful tips.
    1>  I am reading the routing using fm CP_EX_PLAN_READ
           CALL FUNCTION 'CP_EX_PLAN_READ'
              EXPORTING
                cmode_imp                       = 'R'
                plnty_imp                       = wa_rthd-plnty
                plnnr_imp                       = wa_rthd-plnnr
                plnal_imp                       = wa_rthd-plnal
                sttag_imp                       = wa_rthd-datuv
          TABLES
                plpo_exp                        = lt_plpo_exp
                pltx_exp                        = lt_pltx_exp
    Even though header and operations has long text, table lt_pltx_exp is not getting populated (lt_plpo_exp is getting right data). Any idea why this would happen?
    2> Once I successfully get the long text then what all is the mapping to populate the structure BAPI1012_TXT_HDR_C & BAPI1012_TXT_C, as I am using BAPI_ROUTING_CREATE to create the routing in the new plant.
        CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_ROUTING_CREATE'
            EXPORTING
              testrun                         = lh_testrun
            IMPORTING
              group                           = lh_group
              groupcounter                = lh_groupcounter
            TABLES
              task                             = t_rthd_bapi_n
              materialtaskallocation    = t_rtma_bapi_n
              operation                      = t_rtop_bapi_n
          textallocation               = t_rtxo_bapi_n
          text                             = t_rttx_bapi_n
              return                           = t_rt_ret.
    Any feed back is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    I checked the FM for the Long text & as you said, it does not retirieve the long texts. Please note that this FM is not yet released ( on 46C ) & no FM documentation is maintained.
    So I suggest you read the LT by FM: READ_TEXT based on the value of field TXTSP in corresponding structures.
    Hope this helps.
    Best Regards, Murugesh

  • Question about router versions

    I am getting the family a new Imac for christmas. I currently have a 802.11b linksys router and DSL.
    Is there any reason to "upgrade" the router to G, N ?

    The maximum data rate for 802.11b is 11 MBPS, 802.11g is 54 MBPS and 802.11n is 100 MBPS. If you're going to be sharing files with other computers on your LAN or streaming multimedia files, then the faster the better. Otherwise, if you're not doing file sharing or streaming and your Internet line is below 11 MBPS, you probably won't need the extra speed.

  • About route expression in Dynamic route to service

    Hi all,
    in the "Dynamic route to service" action:
    <route xmlns="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/context">
    <service isProxy="true">{ $proxyToBeInvoked }</service>
    </route>
    I use a variable named 'proxyToBeInvoked' to build dynamically what service shoud be called.
    Here an example of ''proxyToBeInvoked" variable assignment:
    fn:concat('EventBus-', $eventType, '/providers/', $provider, '/resource/', $providerEventType, '-', $provider, '-TransformIntoIPEvent')
    I've noticed that if ''proxyToBeInvoked" points to non-existent proxy no error is raised by ALSB and I can realize that something goes wrong only having a look at log files!
    Do you know a way to test if variable ''proxyToBeInvoked" points to existent service or a way to add to the <route> expression some extra flag in order to enforce that the related service exists ?
    Best regards
    ferp

    Hello,
    I'm surprised you're having trouble with this one. In ALSB 2.5 and 2.6, I get back a fault when this occurs. My proxy that contains dynamic routing does not have an error handler on the route node, only on the proxy level.
    I'm using exactly the same xml syntax as you posted, so it doesn't appear to be a difference in flag settings.
    This is the fault that I get back:
    <fault xmlns="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/context">
    <errorCode>BEA-382000</errorCode>
    <reason>Error preparing message for dispatch</reason>
    <location>
    <node>ProxyName RouteNodeName</node>
    <path>request-pipeline</path>
    </location>
    </fault>
    Hope that helps,
    Meghan

  • Noob question about router IP on SDM Worksheet...

    The SDM Worksheet says,
    L6A
    Router IP Address
    Copy the subnet in field L1A to field L6A.
    If L1A has subnet field of 192.168.10.0, then these instructions make the router address 192.168.10.0.
    I thought the first IP on the subnet was the default IP for the router, eg 192.168.0.1

    Chris
    I am as baffled as you are looking at the link you provided. If you used the example they give then all interface IPs would end up being the subnet address which is clearly wrong and more importantly would not work.
    In terms of the addressing to use it is common to allocate static IPs from the start of the subnet as you say, athough this is just convention ie. any IP from the subnet could be used.
    So unless we are both missing something obvious i would just ignore what the sheet is saying and do as you suggest in terms of allocation.

  • About Routing transfer from ECC6 to ECC5

    Dear all,
         We need transfer routing data from ECC6 to ECC5,Because of our tech dept create routing at  the Ecc6 system,But our manufacture at the Ecc5 system,Now we need transfer routing from Ecc6 to Ecc5,we try the idoc message "LOIROU02",It cann't create inbound parameter at the ECC5.Did you have a good idea for this issue?
    Edited by: bill yang on Aug 5, 2011 4:22 PM

    Hi Yang,
    I transferred routing in this way. 1) use RCPBTCO1 this program to generate dataset. You use this report to generate a dataset in order to transfer routing data from one ERP system to another ERP system. Then you use the dataset for batch input in the other ERP system.
    The program, RCPTRA01 takes the data from the sequential file and makes batch input session for creating routings. The following application transactions are available currently:
    CA01 Create routing
    CA11 Create reference operation set
    QP01 Create inspection plan
    TRANSACTION CODE: OP8D
    Check this this one program will create batch input file other program will create batch input. Then in receiver system run the sm35 that will create routing.
    Regards,
    Madhu.

  • Networking question about routing...

    Hello everyone,
    I have the folowing problem:
    I want to go www.mydomain.com from my internal network... but somehow it does not work.
    my configuration:
    I have my server on local LAN with IP 10.0.0.1, my router has the 10.0.0.1 under DMZ. If I acces myserver.local works if I acces mydomain.com it does not work.
    myserver.local resolves to 10.0.0.1
    mydomain.com resolves to 194.xxx.xxx.xxx the IP that is configuret on the router.
    also from outside the LAN when I go to mydomain.com it works.
    Any ideeas where my packeges get stuck?
    Thank you, George.

    Hi Todd,
    The answer is perfect. It is possible to use any field FML or FML32 for routing, but for FML the maximum number limit is 8191.
    I read this documentation [http://e-docs.bea.com/tuxedo/tux91/rf5/rf519.htm ]. In DM_ROTUING section
    Required parameters for the DM_ROUTING section
    FIELD = identifier
    Specifies the name of the routing field. It must be 30 characters or less. It is assumed that the value of identifier is one of the following: a field name that is identified in an FML field table (for FML and FML32 buffers); an XML element or element attribute (for XML buffers); or an FML view table (for VIEW, X_C_TYPE, or X_COMMON buffers). Two environment variables, FLDTBLDIR and FIELDTBLS or FLDTBLDIR32 and FIELDTBLS32, are used to locate FML field tables. Similarly, two environment variables, VIEWDIR and VIEWFILES or VIEWDIR32 and VIEWFILES32, are used to locate FML view tables. If a field in an FML or FML32 buffer is used for routing, the value of that field must be a number less than or equal to 8191.
    “If a field in an FML or FML32 buffer is used for routing, the value of that field must be a number less than or equal to 8191“. This sentence was confusing.
    Thank you.
