Hi, Adobe Reader XI crashes when I try to connect to a pdf online.

Hi, Can anyone help, please? Adobe reader XI crashes when I connect to a pdf online. Pre-saved ones still read correctly. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader, and reset google chrome, but the problem is still there! What can I try next???

Chrome uses its own PDF viewer, not the Adobe Reader plugin; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

As has been mentioned Adobe Reader cannot export PDF page content. Nor can it create PDF or manipulate PDF page content.
What you can do is use one of Adobe's online subscription services. Two provide for PDF  to Word export.
    There's ExportPDF and PDF Pack.

  • Arc Map Crashes when I try to print to a pdf

Printing to a pdf from Arc Map crashes my .mxd
    Windows 7
Adobe Acrobat XI Pro - demo
    ArcGIS Desktop 10
    Release Version: 10.0
    Service Pak 5
I recently started experiencing Arc Map crashes when printing to pdf using Acrobat 7 Pro
So I uninstalled Acrobat Pro 7
    and
Installed Adobe Acrobat XI Pro demo
Same result I am still crashing when I try to print
Export to pdf still works but export creates a much larger file even after the settings are dumbed down.
Adobe support will not help cause I am using a demo version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro
I already removed pro7 to avoid conflict
    Please help if you can.

  • Adobe pro x crashes when I try to distribute a form.

I have created a form in adobe pro x. When I try to distribute the form via email to a group of people the system tells me that it has encountered an error with Windows and shuts down. The system allowed me to distribute a couple months ago, but now I get nowhere. I am using a shared drive to house the PDF file and all users have access. I have reloaded Adobe and rebuilt the file, but I continue to get the message. I need help.

    Hi,
I had a similar problem and found help for it. Go to the "Advanced" menu and select Extend features in Adobe Reader. That will enable rights which may resolve your problem. If that doesn't work, there is a really helpful guy in here, Robert Levine. You may want to ask him directly.
    Good Luck

I removed and re-installed Itunes, everything works fine but when I try to connect to stores, Itunes crashes.

it seems restoring it and then updating can be the exit.
too bad you certainly will lose all your songs and videos plus podcasts. no problem if you can copy them all back again.

  • IWeb crashes when I try to publish link to .pdf or .doc

I have published links to documents (pdf/doc) on my iWeb website several times in the past, using MobileMe. But now iWeb crashes when I try to do this. I'm using the "insert hyperlink" function in the inspector. I have found that I can publish a doc by dragging it onto the page. That doesn't crash the program, and it publishes just fine. But I really need to link to a pdf, and nothing I try is working (can't drag pdfs onto iWeb to make links). I have used only 1GB of my 10GB iWeb account, and my subscription is up-to-date. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

If you want to have the PDF viewable as well as downloadable on your page you can do the following:
1 - upload the pdf file to the server.
2 - create a hyperlink to the file on the server.
3 - use the Line to an External Page option in the Inspector/Link/Hyperlink pane.
4 - select or not the option to open the pdf in a new window.
When the link is clicked on the pdf will open in a a new window or not where it can be viewed and downloaded. This way you only have to upload the pdf file once regardless of how many times you reedit the page.

  • Getting Adobe Reader already installed when I try to re-install. How can I get it re-installed??

    Windows XP  SP3
I had a problem printing an invoice from
a vendor and it was suggested that we should have the most current versions on the
Adobe software installed. I un-installed Adobe Reader X (10.0.1) and Adobe Flash Player and
any other Adobe product. When I bring up the add/remove programs screen, it shows that
Adobe Reader X (10.0.1) is installed and that the update cannot be removed.
When I try to re-install, I get the error that Adobe Reader X is already installed, even though it
has been removed from the registry.
What can I do to get Adobe Reader X re-installed??

This is basically the same problem that double0eight is having.
Not all of Adobe Reader X (10.0.1) gets uninstalled. There is one program that is left that says that it cannot be uninstalled.
If this is the case, how can anyone re-install Adobe Reader X?? Now I am really stuck unless I use another software product.
Does anyone have any idea on hwo Adobe Reader X can be un-installed?
    Thanks.

  • Adobe Reader X crashes when connected to Internet

I have several systems which I've updated to Adobe Reader X.  On *one* of the systems, Reader crashes ~10 seconds after opening it.  This happens whether I open a document or just the application with no document.  Platform is WinXP-32.  There are no error dialogs, the window just goes away.  There's nothing in the WIndows Event log either.
Using sysinternals procmon, it seems to crash when either 1) reading the IE history (why is it doing that?)  2) due to the response it gets over HTTP.
Since I saw network activity, I disabled my internet connection and opened Reader X -- it does not crash!
    I've tried:
         -  deleting my IE history and cookies; didn't help.
         - uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling
         - removing Adobe folders in %APPDATA% and %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data.
         - disabling the auto update feature
None of which seemed to help.

I've just deployed this to ~250 system an I'm randomly noticing this problem on a number of systems.  It appears to be happinging mostly on the Windows 7 64-bit systems however I'm seeing it on a few Windows XP systems.
I tried disabling networking on one system still with no avail.  It did appear to last a little longer before Adobe Reader X went to Not Responding and then crashed.  Because of that I won't post a packet capture however any more info on this will be great.
UPDATE:  Disabling Protected Mode fixes the problem.  This is accomplished with the following registry key:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\Privileged]
    "bProtectedMode"=dword:00000000
This however bypasses the new security features that Adobe Reader X provides for you.  I don't know which is worse disabling it or having people complain about reader not functioning......
For now it looks like 9.x updates is the better corse.

  • Adobe Reader X freezes when I try to open recent files

When I try to open recent files, Adobe Reader X will freeze up and will stay that way until I restart the computer. Even logging off won't work. I recently left it alone for around 5-10 minutes and Windows finally did end up stopping the process, but this is not normal. Any ideas for a fix?

Nope. That didn't do it. It won't even let me end the process AcroRd32.exe. I confirmed that after around 10 minutes, it finally closed on it's own. I just also confirmed that it's a problem with accessing files on my network, not local files. The odd thing is that I can use the Open tool, go the folder and open that file fine, but when I try to open the same file under the recent files, it freezes up. This may have to do with the fact that this is a mapped network drive. Any fix would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Adobe Reader XI crashes when using find (command F)

I have a Mac with intel 10.9 and Adobe crashes everytime I use find. I get the pinwheel loading symbol and then Adobe ALWAYS crashes. Is there a way I can fix this?

This problem has not been addressed for a long time.  Every time it happened, I reported it.  Each time I had to start activity monitor and force quit Adobe reader.  I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader and the problem persisted
    I did find a bypass.
    Open the Applications folder
    Select Adobe Reader
Right click and move Adobe Reader to Trash
Find a PDF file in the finder and double click.
The PDF file will open in Preview and the Find command will work.
I will check back periodically to see if Adobe had fixed the problem.  So far I have not found any feature unique to Adobe Reader that I cannot live without

Part of me thinks that this doesn't actually have anything to do with mail. I had problems with Safari and Finder crashing every time I they tried to open a PDF. This was partially solved by installing Adobe Acrobat Reader and designating it as the default PDF veiwing app, but this option didn't appear when I ran Mail for the first time after installing Reader.
At this point, I've repaired the disk and repaired permissions, but that's about as much as I know how to do. I'd be grateful for any help that anyone can offer.
    Thanks!

    1GHz PowerbookG4, Dual 2.5GHz G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hi Sam.
I don’t know what’s going on. I suggest reinstalling the Combo Update for the type of computer and the version of Mac OS X you’re using, unless this is the version of Mac OS X that came with your computer:
About the Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update
Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update for PPC
Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update for Intel
Take a look at the following articles for guidelines on how to properly install system updates:
    Troubleshooting installation and software updates
    Installing software updates
Basically, you should verify/repair the startup disk before installing the update (which you say you’ve already done), no applications should be running while installing it, and you may experience unexpected results if you have third-party system software modifications (not normal applications) installed.

  • Adobe Reader XI freezes when I try to get to preferences

When I open Reader XI and I select preferences, the programs just hangs and I keep getting the ding noise.  What could be causing this problem?  I uninstalled, reinstalled, even went back to version 10.

If you are on Windows, try to disable Protected Mode.  Since you cannot go into Preferences, download, unzip, then run this registry script
