Hi all. I think I am under attach from a phishing scheme. In over my head here. I think the apple experts are too at least at the stores. I need to securely reset my appleid so my iphone doesn't become compromised and become a paperweight! Can u help?

My iphone 4 and my Compaq laptop are acting strangely and I am not sure who I can trust. I am running Kapersky software on the laptop. Using a shared wireless access system that I do not maintain. How can I securely update my appleid, my iphone4 OS etc. Need help! Can you help? Can I get multiple responses?

Why do you "need" to reset your Apple ID? IOS devices (like your iPhone) are pretty much protected from viruses and other intrusions (unless you have a jailbroken device). You need to state what it is you are needing to do a little more clearly. Updating your AppleID and you iPhone are two entirely different things.
What is it that you want to do? And again, why do you think you need to change your AppleID (or update it), and when you say "update" your AppleID what, exactly do you mean?

From what you're describing appears to be Activation Lock, a security measure provided by Apple that makes it harder for people to use a lost or stolen device. You will need to enter the password for the Apple ID the device is prompting you for.

Close out of the mail app, double click the home button and completely close out of the mail app.
Then do a reset, hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release then wait for the phone to boot back up.
then check your mail again.

What makes you think I can't use my phone in another country or with another sim. You obviously can't, but we are hardly going to talk about hacking an Apple phone on the Apple site. By the way mine is officially unlocked so can swap sims within seconds.

unplug the iphone from you computer.
quit itunes.
re-open itunes.
connect iphone
quickly begin to hold down both home button and sleep/wake for around 7/8 seconds.
as soon as the iphone screen goes black release finger from sleep/wake button but continue to hold home button.
an apple logo should appear on the iphone screen
continue to hold down home button
itunes should now let you know it has detected a phone in recovery mode.
choose to restore iphone.
once completed restore from back up if desired.

Not a good sign. Try forcing the phone into recovery mode & restoring it. If this fails, make an appointment at an Apple store:

Only the wireless carrier to which the iPhone is locked can unlock
it. Contact them to see if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
Apple does not unlock iPhones - wireless carrier has this responsibility.

You have to back them up to a computer. You would import them either to iPhoto or to the Photos app in your PC:
