Hi all, issues with my ADSL speeds.

Hi all,
Been a BT customer for under two months now and everything was going great. I had moved from Virgin where my speeds were 6Mbps+ and it was the same in the first week or so when my Broadband went live with BT.
I'd woke up one morning to find my broadband was off. Couple of hours later it had come back on but now my speeds are approx 3Mbps. I called BT on 0800 111 4567 and the Indian agent I spoke to ran some tests and got it up to 6.7Mbps, which I confirmed with him when I tested on http://www.speedtest.btwholesale.com at the end of the call.
10 minutes after the call ended and I was back to square one, my speeds were again approx 3Mbps and I didn't have the desire to call back.
I've called up today and the advisor I spoke with advised me there is nothing wrong and that my speeds are what is expected of my line. He had no answers for me when I asked why my speeds were constantly 6Mbps+ before I had the initial drop but after the drop my speeds are constantly 3Mbps and never reach anywhere near the speeds I was having early on.
Can anyone confirm if anything can be done? It confuses me how the first advisor managed to up my speeds but the second one can't and tells me the speeds are as good as I can get. The advisor today also seemed reluctant to deviate from his scripts.
Can anyone confirm and shed any light on this? I have to honestly say I'm quite disappointed at the moment.

Issues with Infinity - Connection Speed & Other Pr...

Hi all,
I had Infinity installed on 2nd November. Besides some issues with BT mixing up delivery addresses the installation by Kelly Comms went smoothly, and was setup within 45 mins.
Initial speeds were very good, achieving 74Mb/s Down & 18Mb/s Up with a Ping/Latency of 5ms Excellent really considering the sub 5Mb/s I was used to with ADSL. The high connection speeds remained over the weekend until about 4pm on November 5th. I found that the Openreach Modem had lost connection (flashing DSL light) and my HH3 Broadband light was a steady orange. I left this for a while before picking up my landline to call customer services only to find that my line was dead with no dial tone.
Broadband eventually came back on service later that afternoon, but at a much lower speed of 43Mb/s Down, and an almost impossibly slow 0.97Mb/s Up. Ping/Latency has also slowed to around 20ms. During the evening I managed to get through to customer services in India, who were able to start dealing with the fault on my phone line.
Initially I was told it would be the 12th of November that the problem with the phone line would be resolved. Fortunately enough it was then fixed the following morning by an apparent engineer visit. I was unaware of this action until later in the day, but had noticed before leaving for work that Broadband was yet again down.
So to cut a long story short: I have a phone line that works, but a big reduction in connectivity speed especially upstream speed. Should I be contacting BT to investigate yet another potential problem bearing in mind that I am still within the supposed '10 day training' window.
(All speed tests have been conducted via a PC connected by ethernet directly to the HH3)
If anyone can advise me it would be much appreciated.

Issue with adding custom speed to a behavior

I am trying to add a custom speed to a write on behavior. The shape I am trying to write on works fine when I have it at any other speed setting but when I set it to custom (which I need to allow it to both write on and write off at the end) the shape disappears. Despite playing with the custom speed percentage, the shape never comes back. Any ideas?

Ok. I opened your project in my Motion 4 and after it updated it, I got the custom behavior to work fine. However, I had a thought so I decided to open it on my machine that's using Motion 3. There I noticed the problem you're having. I was unable to get the shape write on behavior to work either.
I believe the problem to be with your project. It appears slightly corrupt. Here's something you might try. Create a new project. Redraw your circle shape. Apply the write on behavior and keyframe it as I mentioned before. Then copy and paste it into your current sequence to replace the circle you have in there.
If that doesn't work, I'd rebuild your project. Instead of using all those strokes, just make one X and one O and one line. Then use clones for all the others. That should simplify the project quite a bit.

Fix *most but not all* issues with Time Capsule, Time Machine and 10.5.3

There are so many posts related to this issue, that I just wanted to create one short post with a how to fix / quick tips that seems to work for most but granted not all
Issues: Cannot backup, gets stuck into preparing phase or backup volume seems to be corrupted or not working. User was able to use TM with TC w/o problems before update to 10.5.3
1) Turn off TM
2) reboot TC (unplug and plug back in or do it via Airport Utility)
3) Disable energy saving and screen saving features (* see remark at the end)
4) reboot iMac, Macbook or whatever you are using
5) go to finder, unmount the backup volume
6) force a manual backup in TM
7) it will take up to 30 minutes preparing backup and then it should work
(*) I found that if the Mac enters into sleep mode or a password protected screensaver sometimes the backup gets interrupted and one get an error message. This seems like a bug and I reported it to Apple.

Hi! I've had the same problem and in my case I even couldn't access the Time Machine with the Airport Utility though I was properly connected with the network. Now it seems to work, and here's what I did:
- I did a hard reset of TC by pressing the reset button for 5 sec. until the light starts flashing
- I set up the whole network/airport/tc preferences again (what you always have to do after hard reset)
- I manually startet a backup.
When I manually started the back up for the first time, the TM preferences said "Preparing" and then stopped without backing up anything.
I restarted the backup again (manually) and finally it worked like described in this post: "Preparing" for roughly half an hour.
In this time, Time Capsule/Machine finds out, what files needed to be backed up. After that Preparation period, time machine started backing up as usual.
All you have to do is hard resetting and setting up the Time Capsule from new. You DO NOT have to delete the hard drive!!!

Was syncing my iphone through itunes and it wanted me to update the version which I thought it did
Now my phone keeps telling me to connect to itunes which I have tried without success.
In device manager it's showing as apple mobile device in recovery mode with an exclamation mark
Have tried so many options from this site but nothing works.
When I tried to update in device manager it says access denied
Have also tried reboot without success
Going absolutely mad need a real expert

Do we need to resolve all issues with intermediate 2010 migration before going to Exchange 2013?

We just migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 as an intermediate step to going to Exchange 2013. Everything is working through OWA, so all the data has been transferred. We have users that can access Outlook 2010 through a Citrix server,
and through their local workstations. Outlook 2010 is working fine through Citrix as well, but on all users if they access Outlook 2010 on their laptop they get an error when trying to do Out of Office messages, and they can't see free/busy time for
other users when adding them to meeting invites.
I already have a post about the issues, but since we are moving to 2013, could the migration fix these issues, or do we need to resolve them first? The data is clearly there, so I don't think that's the problem.

WIFI issues with 2013 MBA

Hi
I would be most grateful for help with the following - I recently purchased a 2013 MBA (latest model) but have been having issues with the wifi speed. My broadband normally runs at 6-7Mbps (which I check regulary) but my MBA can only be described as slow when browsing simple web pages (the other pc's in the house don't have the same issues). I have checked the transfer rate on my WIFI in Network Utility and it sits at 144 Mbit/s so I am not entirly sure where the problems lies and why it is only affecting my MBA. I have tried switching channels but it has not helped. I am aware that recent MBA have issues with WIFI but not sure if these problems are related.

Unable to install IDM 11.1.1.6.0..Issue with ASInstance ..not empty....

Hello IDM experts, please help me. I have Oracle Linux 5.7 64 bit installed on Oracle Virtual box 4.1.10.
I have valid IP address and Domain name and I am able to ping both.
I have successfully installed database 11GR2 (11.2.0.1.0) for 64 bit linux. All issues with OS packages have been resolved. Nothing is ignored. All parameter setting has been followed as per the installation guide by Oracle.
Installed JDK 1.7_03 version linux 64 bit ( I selected this as per the certification matrix ).
Installed WLS 10.3.6 for 64 bit linux
Ran RCU 11.1.1.6.0 and created all required schemas.
Downloaded IDM 11.1.1.6.0 for linux 64 bit.
While installing and configuring,
I have looked into all other postings related to this error and I did not find anything missing in my configuration.
Really appreciate your great help in resolving this issue. It is show stopper for me now.

Issues with Speed Ramps in Premiere CC

Hey all,
I opened a project that I copied from one drive to another and got this issue on some clips:
In the past, I've seen this happen on clips that were, say, 60fps and then being interpreted at 24fps. In this case, the original is 23.976, with only a Speed/Duration adjustment.
I tried referencing the original project on the original setup. When I frame match, it gives me TC readings that are way beyond the clips (08:52:40:00 but it only goes up to 08:52:05:00)
There are a ton of clips that have speed effects in the project but these are the only two that have this. What's wrong with them? How can I fix it?

Changing the speed on one or more of your timeline clips has resulted in these clips asking for more frames than are in the source media. That's why you're getting the danger stripes. It's unclear if your issue was caused by what was done to these clips in particular, or if it was caused by speed changes on other clips in the timeline. Pay particular attention to clips immediately surrounding the problem clips.

Having issues with speed with opening/dowloading/installing from some websites

Had speed issues with my ISP and they seem to think it is because of the browser, and that I should be using IE. Knowing my ISP is not going to take responsibilities if the fault was on their side, I did not believe it. However, when Microsoft stopped support for XP operating system, I tried to download a security program from another website and again I had nothing but problems. The program would download and some times even get all the way to be installed but the program logo would hang on for ever while installing, and I could not launch the program. If the program installed I would have to remove it before going forward. Their technical support said it was because of the browser as well. I do have IE installed but I never use it as my browser unless I have no choice. Today, my ISP rep called to solve my issue and at her request opened IE as I could go no-where with Firefox. I was right, my ISP is full of it as she could not solve my problem with or without IE. However, I left IE opened and downloaded the other program which it is now working great. Will I have to be forced to use IE so that speed and downloading improves? I hope not.

New infinity line and major speed issues with almo...

Just has infinity installed after moving from my previous FTTC provider. With the previous provider i was getting 16 down / 1-2 up and it worked great.
Had my my new inifnity line put in on thrsday and i am getting 17 down / 0.5 up!!
I work from home and connect to the office via vpn and remote desktop and its almost unusable. Laggy, slow, unrepsonsive and is constantly dropping the connection with a failed to read from socket error and is making it very difficult to work form home effectively.
I have a 4g EE modem also and if i switch to this it is like lightening compared.
I also had absolutely no connection issues with my previous provider and as i posted above had a mich better uplink speed - which is where i think im getting most of my issues.
When i signed up to BT this is what i was sent via email:
We estimate your download speed will be 19.1Mb.
We estimate your upload speed will be 3.9Mb.
Im fine with the download but the uplink is shocking compared to the estimate - and as i had much better before i think something is amiss.
Also when i signed up i was told that if i had any connection issues with the new line i had to notify BT within 7 days and it woudl eb investingated but it seems there are so many roadblocks to creating support tickets etc.. Its like it s been hard to report a fault on purpose.
Where can i create a support ticket or similar to get this looked at?

One day I turned my laptop on and it connected no problem. Now it has kicked me off again. I tried resetting my IP address but that does not work either! Has anyone had this problem?

Try this:
Apple menu / System Preferences / Network.
Click Location: and select Edit Locations..
Click + (plus sign), and enter a name for the new location - anything will do.
Apply this.

HT5622 I have issues with my iphone putting all my photos in the photo stream and an issue with my icloud on my PC updating the photo s stream.

Some of the photo I take with my iphone will not get saved into my photo stream. Some of these photos were taken while the iphone was connected to the wifi, but did not get saved. Other photos were while not on wifi and they seem to get saved. I have not narrowed down what is the difference between those photos that get saved and those that don't get saved. Is there a way to force a photo to get saved? I would like to be able to access these photos from all my devices.
I also have an issue with the photo stream on my PC getting updated. I have photos in the photo stream that is updated on my Ipad and iphone. However, these photos are not getting updated on the PC. Everything seems to be set up on the icloud and photos stream for the PC.

That is the way it is designed to work. If you want the photos on your Mac on your new iPhone, you can sync them with iTunes.

okay I've finally been able to get tor and all the other programs to work according to my plan the only thing that's still making problems is that iptables doesn't work as I want it to, when I start chromium without proxy settings privoxy doesn't seem to forward the information to polipo.. do I need to add another rule to iptables.rules in order for the program to know it has to reroute the information again or how can I get this to work? and is there any way to run rtorrent with proxy support?
anyway, problem 2 and 3 are still to be solved.
and does anybody know where i can get a good dansguardian blacklist that was not designed for 6 year old children and for which I don't need to subscribe? I'm still getting these partypoker popups -.-
