The red exclamation mark indicates that itunes cannot find your files.
Are the music files still on your harddrive. Look n Finder
Username/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media
If the files are there then keep the option key pressed and open iTunes. A dialog box will open asking you to choose your library. Select Choose and then navigate to the Music/iTunes Folder and click OK

My iTunes library shows all music but there is an exclamation mark to the left on all entries and there is a message stating "original file could not be found" although all music is on the iPad.
The massage means what it says. iTunes can't find the actual music files. All iTunes has is a database of where the files should be and they are not there.
Try:

i placed my ipad on top of my CPU with a music playing,i heard a crack on the sound and when i checked it,i can no longer hear a sound playing on my ipad.i tried to check place a headphone its still playing a sound but when i pull it out,wont play at all.
I don't know if this will work but it's worth a try. I wonder if somehow you ended up with a short inside of your iPad. Give the things below are trying to see if that helps. Good luck.
Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

When i open facebook and only text shows and all is to the left and when i open hotmail nothing shows on my screen and other webpages have problems also when click at a link all the text comes up also to the left in my screen whats wrong ???
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
* "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
* "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

I am using a macbook pro with system 10.6.8. I just discovered that no recent files have been backed up to the external disk using Time Capsule. There is a long list of backups including most recent but no recent files, for some weeks, have been backed up. I did a full reset of Time Machine. I disconnected the external drive and reconnected it. It is not a matter of file types, no files and no folders have gotten backed up. Everything looks normal though unless one goes hunting for recent files on the back up.

All my music and podcasts synced through iTunes are scrambled up. The songs and podcasts start in the middle and skip around. It happends on 3 diffrent Windows computers with 2 diffrent iPhone 4's.
Anyone have any ideas or did my wife and myself just get defective phones?
Like I said all songs and podcasts start like 30 sec in them jump back to the intro then to the end then the middle. Its quite crazy. -

My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc. -

The mail icon on my iPhone says I have 1,504 unread messages, but when I go to delete them, it says "No Mail". I was trying to "clean out" my phone because I can't access my Words With Friends app - everytime I try to go there, it kicks me off. I still get messages from Words saying my friends are waiting for me. Any ideas on either of these issues?

You'll notice that the problem is usually associated with a failed/damaged hard drive, meaning you'll likely need to have your iPod serviced if you want to get it working again.
