First you have to see if your system has the ability to run Lion or Mountain Lion. If it can before you do ANYTHING backup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to call Apple's on-line store and purchase Snow Leopard and upgrade and install SL following the instructions on the DVD. Once installed, then download and install the 10.6.8 Update Combo following the on-screen instructions. Once you have upgraded then run Software Update and install any of the recommended updates. Finally open the Mac App Store and purchase and install Mountain Lion again following the on-screen directions. Run Software Update again to get up to date and you're done. If your computer cannot run ML then call the online Apple Store and request to purchase Lion and see if your system can run it. If your machine is too old to run Lion then this may be the time to upgrade to a new Mac.

If you purchased Lion for your iMac, just log into the Mac App Store from your MacBook using the Apple ID under which you purchased Lion and go to the Purchases page. You will be able to download and install Lion there.

The only place you get get Lion is from the Mac App Store. If you found some other site, that was an illegal copy and almost certainly tied to someone else's Apple ID and hence unusable by you. If the link was just to the Mac App Store, see above.
As to the problem with synchronization to iCloud, that's not a 10.6 question, so I'd suggest you take up that specific issue in either the Lion or iCloud forums, providing full details, and someone there can probably help you sort things out.

No. Your iMac only has DVI video connection. You would need an iMac with Thunderbolt.

Discovered a problem when I went looking for some images that were not included in the most recent catalog. After opening up a couple of older ones and upgrading, I went back to the most recent and couldn't opening. Message says it is not writable. And also says it may be due to incorrect permissions. There are many online tutorials on how to change out the HD on a mid 2007 iMac. One of the originals is from 2007 and is Upgrade your iMac 20" or iMac 24" aluminum (mid 2007) to 1TB Hard Drive and 4 GB RAM - DIY Guide. As far as migrating your system Apple helps out with that in Setup Assistant which automatically starts when you turn on a new Mac for the first time. After you have installed the new HD you will have to format the new HD to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and then you will have to install OS X. The first time you turn it on Setup Assistant will start. Follow the directions and you will be fine. In order to restore your information you will need to backup what is on the current internal HD first. I'd recommend using Time Machine (Assuming you are using Leopard or later) AND also creating a bootable clone using either SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner.

There is no download aside from the one in the Mac App Store available to people running Mac OS X 10.6.6 and newer. The other way of getting iPhoto 9 is to purchase iLife 11 on DVD. As iLife 11 requires Mac OS X 10.6.3 or newer, it's usually best to update to 10.6.8 for free and then use the Mac App Store version.

How to Install Lion Successfully - You must have Snow Leopard 10.6.7 or 10.6.8 Installed
A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.3.) if DW cannot fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall Snow Leopard.
B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the backup volume. Source means the internal startup volume.
C. Important: Please read before installing:
If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update. While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
D. To upgrade to Lion:
Purchase the Lion Installer from the Mac App Store. The download will start quickly. Lion is nearly 4 GBs so a fast internet connection is essential. Download time could run upwards of 4 hours depending upon network conditions and server demands at the time.
Boot From The Lion Installer which is located in your Applications folder.
Follow instructions for installation. -

The only ways to do this now is either by subscribing to iTunes Match or by re-purchasing the tracks. You can, however, burn the protected tracks to audio CD which will work just like any other audio CD.

Premiere Pro 1.5.1 was released in March 2005. It's far too old to qualify for an upgrade.
There have been 5 major upgrades and 8 years of development since then.
The current version is CS6 and only those who own CS5 or CS5.5 are eligible to upgrade.
