Hi Anyone had a dark screen that won't light up?

Hi Anyone had a dark screen that won't light up butyou can vaguely see the ipod image?

Try the standard fixes:
- Reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup via iTunes
- Restore to factoery defaults/new iPod
- If still a problem you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • When I touch the email icon there is a draft email stuck on the screen that won't go away if I delete or save it.  I've already tried deleting and resetting the email account which didn't work.  How do I get rid of it?

I have the new iPad 3 and every time I touch the email icon there is a draft message stuck on the screen that won't disappear even if I touch save or delete.  I've tried removing the email account and putting it back on which didn't work either.  How do I get this draft to disappear?

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Or Quit the mail app.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button.
Go back to mail and see if it is fixed.

  • My computer has streaks on the screen that won't come off

I just got the new Macbook Pro with Retina Display about a month ago and now on the screen there are streaks all over the screen that won't go away. I have tried using water, glass cleaner, and glasses cleaner wipes but it won't come off. Is this some type of defect or is there some other way to clean it?

  • Dark smudges on the screen that won't go away?

I was wondering if anyone had any solutions for getting rid of dark smudges on the screen that seem to be internal in nature.  I have an early 2008 black Macbook.  The spots are kind of annoying so I was looking for a solution.  Is this something fixable?

Hold Sleep and Home buttons for 10 seconds until your iPad restarts

  • Does anyone have a screen that has a light dot on the side of the Ipad 2 that when you touch it, it enlarges??  What should  I do if anything??

Does anyone know about why I have a small light dot on the right of my screen that expand when I press on it?  It lights up when I touch it more.  What if anything can I do?  I have had my ipad for over a year now.

Not much you can do now. You should have taken it to an Apple Store before your 1 year warranty expired.

    Hello Lola51,
I would be concerned as well if my iPod was unresponsive.  I found a resource that I think would help in a situation like this.
I recommend following the steps in this troubleshooting assistant:

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

  • How to get rid of full screens that won't go away.

I was using my MacBook Pro with my tv through HDMI. I made a window full screen on my tv ( I was using Blender 3D software and the window on the tv was the same application I had on my screen). When I unplugged the HDMI the full screen window on my tv went onto my MacBook. The problem is that the window from the tv is now full screen on my computer, and there are no options in the tool bar to minimize it. When ever I open this file that window pops up along with the window that was on my screen. It creates lag and I need to get rid of it. I need this file. Please help!

There are 3 ways to exit a fullscreen app:
    Escape key
    Command+Control+F
Hover the cursor at the top of the screen until the menu bar drops down then clcik the Arrow icon on the top right.
Have you tried plugging it back into the TV?

  • HT1529 I have a screen that won't go away, how can I get it off my desk top

    Hi,
I have a box that stays on my computer. It has four boxes on the left top that are general, accounts, viewing, audio/video and the main heading at the top is Accounts. There is nothing in the box that is clear enough to read and the box also says Location..US in the left lower bottom with cancel and save in the rt. lower corner. When I click on cancel I get a pop up screen that has the text icon that says Alert (null) with cancel and ok in the rt lower corner. When I hit cancel it takes that little box off and then the save button flashes. I can not hit any of the red, yellow, or green buttons to get rid of the screen they are blanked out. It's driving me crazy!! please help me get rid of it.
    thanks,
    goldies57

Type command + option + esc (all three keys together).
You will see a new pane called Force Quit Applications. In that pane select, one at a time, anything you do not recognize, and click Force Quit.
    Finally, select Finder and Relaunch.

  • I have an iPad screen that won't swipe.  I cannot connect it to Itunes because it's locked with a pass code which I can't enter because I can't swipe.  Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I have a 16GM Mini IPad.  The screen won't swipe.  I tried resetting it but that didn't work.  I attempted to connect to ITunes to try a restore but I can't do that.  This is because the IPad is locked with a pass code which I can't enter because I can't swipe.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

If Ralph's suggestion doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

  • What do I do if my ipod classic has lines at the top righthand corner of the screen that won't go away?

I am not sure when this issue started, but my iPod Classic has lines at the top righthand corner of the screen.  They show up on every screen now.  The iPod is working, but I don't know if this is a sign of bad things to come.  I have dropped the iPod a few times, but not regularly.  I also wasn't sure if this means that it is time to update my iTunes software.  I am going to try updating the software tonight to see if that fixes the problem.  I have tried resetting the iPod, but it doesn't make the lines go away.  I am just curious to see if anyone else has had this issue.  I have attached pictures because it is probably hard to diagnose my issue without seeing it.

It is not a software issue, since you have reset it and update the firmware.
LCD screen do konk out due to high temperature, or when the pixels are static and burn the screen, like the 2 lines, that's the reason we have screen savers or the screen power down, when not in used. Some users do have screen ON all the time when connecting to iPod Docking stations.
Other defects are due to poor SMT, when the display chip is mounted on the iPod motherboard., normally a band of vertical or horizontal white lines across the screen, these appear within 1 year, and Apple do replace the whole iPod.
You can get LCD screen replaced at Apple, if it is still under warranty or get a 3rd party vendor near your area if you want it done cheaper.
    Have a nice day.

  • HT201263 After updating to the ios6 my ipod was going on and off displaying the apple icon and then had a white screen that had multi colors on it. Then it had a blue screen.plz help me

I was updating my iPod touch 4g to the ios6 and it told me to hook it up to the iTunes and so I did. After doing that the computer told me to restore I tried and it didn't work. My ipod then was Turing on and off displaying the apple icon then my screen turned white with rainbow colors going down the screen then at some point my ipod had a multi colored blue screen. The screen was no longer blue after I let it die. Plz help I can't find any solutions.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My 4th generation iPod Touch has had a cracked screen and won't turn on anymore?

I have an iPod touch 4th generation that has a cracked screen. The screen was cracked about 2 years ago, but everything remained functional until about a few months ago. The iPod died and no longer turns on. I forgot about it until a few days ago and tried it again, plugged it in and the red battery came up showing it was dead then shut off again. I've had it plugged in and tried multiple different solutions, and nothings happening again. Thoughts?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Hey my macbook white unibody is coming up with a dark screen that is telling me to restart, how do i get rid of it?

I actually have a couple questions.
I bought a used Macbook 2009 unibody that still has snow leopard. It recently has been coming up with a darkened screen telling me to restart.
My first question is how do i get rid of that? Next i don't no the computer password (luckily its not required to get on the computer or applications) is there a way to change it? Can i wipe the hard drive, its full of personal files? lastly if i download mountain lion, will it wipe the hard drive or get rid of microsoft office?
              - Adam

You need to contact the vendor to obtain the password as well as the original install disk. There is little you can do without it.
It sounds like you are getting kernel panics. These are usually hardware related, often due to faulty or loose RAM modules.
