Hello i want to subscribe to the apple developer program but i dont have a credit card, and i have a few gift cards from my birthday, can i buy an apple developer account with those?

Allow me to expand on this question.
Will Apple allow me to pay the developer program subscription fee with a gift card, but use a credit card for my account verification?
Thanks,

  • I am a US citizen in school in Montreal and I was given a US Apple Store gift card. How can I buy the new iPad using my gift card and with a school discount?

I am a grad student from NYC and at a university in Montreal. I was given a 500$ gift card as a gift to put towards a new ipad. BUT, I apparently cannot use the US gift card in Canada. So, what do I do? I have no time to head back to NYC to get it. I want to order it, but not sure they will ship to montreal...? And was thinking of sending it back to my parents and then have them buy it and mail it to me, but I I think them having to pay tax on this is ridiculous. On top of that, I should be able to garner the ed discount but I dont think the US recognizes Canadian schools in their system and visa versa. SO if I do buy it in the US, I can use my gift card but I can't get the discount. Or if I buy it here in MTL, I can get the discount but I cannot use the gift card..
Can anyone suggest a solution? all bright ideas welcome.

You can only use a gift card in the country it was issued in - no way around that as the Apple Store does NOT offer currency exchange with gift cards.
Nor can you order from the USA online store and ship to any address outside of the USA - again, no way around that as the online stores do NOT ship internationally.
You could send the gift card back to someone in the USA, to use to purchase your item for you, and then once they receive it, they could ship it to you.  Canada customs will hold it until they collect any import fees and taxes levied on imported consumer electronics though.
Either that or buy it in Canada with the discount, and use the card later when you get home again.

  • Setting up two  iPod Touches on one account with gift cards for app and in-app purchases

I have multiple devices on one account - 2 iPod classics, one iPhone 3G and two recently acquired iPod Touches for my 8 year old boys.  They want to make in-app purchases (for Dragonville).  They each have their own gamecenter ID.  I want to set up each of them with gift cards for their purchases.  Is this possible?
If not, what is the recommended approach to manage all devices in one place while allowing individual devices to have a seperate payment mechanism?
    Thanks.

    I recommend that you
Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
    Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
    Settings>FaceTime
    Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.
To make sure you only sync the media yoo want, configure iTunes syncing so that only checked media is synced to the idevices.

  • Forced to create an Apple ID account with credit card

I'm deploying New MacBook Pros running Mountain Lion in an enterprise environment and i'm told I need an Apple ID just to update the OS. I created one and it wants a credit card. I don't want to hand these out to the company users with a credit card associated with the account. The user might accidently buy Apps and music on the company credit card. On the other hand they shouldn't have to buy Apps the company requires them to use with their personal Apple ID/Credit card even if they are reimbursed.
I'd like to know what other large organizations are doing. We nomally get a new Mac system in, set it up with the users info, run OSX updates, install software and hand it over to them.
What's the work around? I can't imagine big companies are handing out company credit cards just so the users can run updates.

Apple has a Kbase article on how to create an account without a credit card:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534
As far as what other companies are doing: How many apps are you buying for users off the Mac App Store?  Apple does have a volume purchase plan where you can buy codes that end user can redeem:
    http://www.apple.com/mac/volume-licensing/
It is a LOT of work for a company to maintain Apple IDs for users.  What drives that need?  Is the cost of the software the end users are purchasing sufficiently large that it really matters?  Also keep in mind that every new Mac comes with iPhoto, GarageBand, and iMovie that are redeemed for the first end user who signs in with an Apple ID for the device.  Letting the end user use their personal Apple ID is a nice perk.

  • Can't buy Keynote for Mac using iTunes gift card

    Hello there fellas.
I have an iTunes account with $21,20 credit that I got from a gift card.
For a couple days now I've been trying to buy the Keynote for Mac with no sucess.
After clicking the buy option at the App Store it opens a window to check my billing info, even thou my account has no credit card information. I confirm everything without entering any credit card info and it asks me again for my password. As I enter the password it asks for the billing info again and I can't buy the app at the end.
Have this happened to anyone else? What am I doing wrong here?
    Why I can't buy a $19 app when I have $21 as credit?

this is not the first app I bought, and all the past ones didn't have any hidden fees or taxes applied after the purchase
Taxes and fees are not applied AFTER the purchase. They are included in the total price.
They are not "hidden"...  refer to the terms and conditions link I posted previously.
Pages is $19.99 at the U.S. app store.
You need to consider whatever the tax rate may be for the state you live in, add that to the $19.99.
but can not get it using my prepaid credit.
    There's not sufficent funds available.

  • Can I buy Lion using balance from a gift card?

I recently bought a Late 2006 iMac 17" and it's currently running 10.6.8, and I want to upgrade it to Lion, which is as high as it can go. We all know the Mac App Store only offers Maverick but you can still get it from the Apple Store site or by phone. Can I use those methods with App Store (iTunes, iBooks) gift cards as my payment method or do I need credit card? I'm not one of those who likes to use credit card a lot to avoid credit problems.

I never bothered calling so I actually found out about no-credit-card purchases on the online Apple store made using cards you buy with cash from an apple retail store and i did just that.

  • Can i buy a refurbished iMac using a gift card outside US, but delivering it in US?

    Hello All.
i'll gone stay in US for couple days and would like buy a refurbished imac, but my credit card is not from US, so i search how can i buy it, and some people said about that gift cards can be used to buy anything from apple...The refurbished models are included?

    raverbr wrote:

Yes.   Did the gift card come from the US? If not, what Country was it bought in?  Also, I'm almost positive refurbished models are only sold through the online Apple store, not at Apple retail store locations.

  • Shared Account with Gift Card credits

We have four people in our family, each with their own USER account on a shared Mac Mini computer. Each user account has it's own iTunes LIBRARY and associated iPod. However, all of the individual iTunes libraries are set-up to use a single iTunes STORE account so that all of the billing goes through a single credit card and it allows us to share songs with each other.
Now we are giving the kids iTunes gift cards for things such as Christmas and making honor roll. However, when they redeem their cards using their user account and their library, it appears that the STORE lumps all of the cards together so that it is no longer clear which child has which value remaining and it also shows up on our "adult" accounts where we don't want to use their card values at all.
So ... Is there any way to associate a redeemed card with just one user?
Also, now with the new iTunes family share version, is it possible instead to create a separate STORE account for each person, but use the same billing info for each and then be able to share our libraries even though we would no longer share the same Store account?

I can go and create a separate store account for each of us and each of the kids and bill it all to one credit card. Then they can each have and track their own redeemed card amounts on their individual store accounts. RIght?
    Correct.
    1) Will we still be able to apply parental rules to what they can access / download now that they will have a separate store account?
Yes. The Parental Controls apply regardless of what iTunes Store account the instance of iTunes happens to be logged into. Otherwise it would be too easy to defeat just by the user logging into another iTunes Store account.
    2) Will we still be able to select the option which will require them to get our approval (password) before they can download something new?
It would work just like it does now. If you don't give them the password to their own iTunes Store account, they can't buy anything, but if they know the password, you can't stop them other than by using the Parental Controls to lock off the iTunes Store.
    3) When songs are downloaded now, they go into their respective library for the user doing the downloading. Then if we want to share it with each other we just access that library on the hard drive and import it into the new library. Pretty easy. But ... I thought that originally when I tried to do this, it wouldn't allow it because of whatever the coding is on the file that showed it was coming from a "different" account and so that was one of the reasons I put everyone on a single account if (I remember correctly).
If an item is copy-protected, the computer must be authorized to that iTunes Store account. But that authorization should apply across all user accounts on a single computer and should happen automatically when the iTunes Store account is set up for the first item is purchased through the account. Almost all music on the iTunes Store now comes without copy protection, though, so the issue probably won't arise very often unless your kids are downloading videos, TV shows or movies.
    Regards.

  • I can not visit the apple developer library with safari in new ipad

I can not visit the url(http://www.apple.com.cn/developer/iphone/library/documentation/iPhone/Conceptual /iPhoneOSProgrammingGuide/ApplicationEnvironment/ApplicationEnvironment.html) with safari in new ipad.

Just authorize the computer and retreive them.
    Go here -> https://iforgot.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/DSiForgot.woa/wa/iforgot .
FYI: you should have simply updated the AppleID with new info and continued to use it instead of creating a new one.

  • How can I transfer money on my account from gift cards to a friend's account?

i got gift cards and put them on my iTunes, but I want to send some of The money to a friend of mine, and whenever I go to "send gift" it needs a credit card.

Click here and ask the iTunes Store staff to put that money back onto the cards; they'll only do this if none of a card's balance has been spent.

  • Apple id was originally disabled. I reset my password and can sign into my apple id account. But when i want to buy an app in the app store it says my apple id is disabled again.

apple id was originally disabled. I reset my password and can sign into my apple id account. But when i want to buy an app in the app store it says my apple id is disabled again.

It's real easy to create a new one and, in fact, it's too easy.  I say that because multiple IDs are a PIA.  The problem is that anything obtained from the iTunes Store is PERMANENTLY associated with the ID that was used to obtain the item(s).  iTunes items can not be transferred from one ID to another and IDs can not be merged.
The problem arises when you want to update an app.  If you're doing it from iTunes on your computer, you must log out and back in to get to the correct ID.  Then you update and log out/in again to get back to where you started.  It's slightly easier if you update from the iPad/iPod device as there is no need to log out/in BUT you still need the correct password for the appropriate ID.  Of course, with a disabled ID, the problem is much worse!
A replacement Apple ID makes sense ONLY if you wish to start out absolutely brand new with zero iTunes Store purchases.
If you're really butting your head aginst a wall and you're reasonably close to an Apple Store, my suggestion is that you make an appointment with the resident "Genius" and get his/her help.
One last thought...  If your brother actually got a human on the phone to dispute the charges, go there and explain the problem.  Of course, if Apple did not accept his explanation of what occurred, that could be the whole issue.  Apple believes that money is owed on the account!

  • Can I change company name in Apple Developer account?

    Hi,
My company is planning to split and change its name before we submit our app to the app store. Will it be possible to register the new name to our existing Apple Developer account? We don't want the old name to show in the app store.
    Thanks!

Sure. You will just have to submit all of the necessary paperwork and wait.

  • I downloaded OS X Lion Server using my apple developer account? Will it stay after my enrolment is over?

The title says it all. I downloaded OS X Lion Server using my apple developer account? Will it stay after my 1 year enrolment is over? I basicaly signed in and redeemed a code to download OS X Lion Server. It is now in my purchased list in the Mac App Store. But I got it by redeeming a code that I got through being an Apple Mac Developer. I wanted to know if I decided not to pay $99 next year to renew my enrolment, will I still be able to keep OS X Lion Server in my purchased list in the Mac App Store. When I click on More Apps by Apple in the Mac App Store, it takes me to the page with all their apps. OS X Lion Server says it is installed. But I want to know if it will still be in the purchased menu after the enrolment is finished and not renewed.

I am a new Mac Developer. I checked the page you gave me and I think it's more to do with topics about programming and using the developer tools and pre-release software. I don't think my question relates to any of the topics there. OS X Lion Server has already been released and is available for the public. I was planning on buying it. But before I did that I wanted to become a developer. So I enrolled in the Mac Developer program and I went to download OS X Mountain Lion Developer Preview 2 when I realized that I could also download the already released OS X Lion Server which was available for $50. So instead of buying it from the Mac App Store, I just got the redemption code from the Mac Developer Center and downloaded it free of charge (I did pay the $99 to be a Mac Developer though). Now it has been added to the purchased list in the Mac App Store and when I click the More Apps by Apple button in the Mac App Store, it takes me to the page with all Apple apps. And now on that page it says that OS X Lion Server has been installed. I am just wandering if once my enrollment is over next year April, and I decide not to renew my enrolment, will I still be able to have the OS X Lion Server in my list of purchased apps and still be able to re-download it? Sorry if this is too long, but I am trying to be as clear as possible. Sometimes when I ask questions, I wait a whole day and go back there, only to find out that they didn't understand what I meant. Thank you .
