Hi, can I use my old hi-fi speakers with airplay? And will the quality still be good?

Hello. I want to replace my old kitchen radio / CD. So I'm thinking of streaming my music. And then I wondered, will I be able to use my old hi-fi speakers? And will the quality be as good as my cds?

Old hi-fi speakers are not AirPlay compatible. The speakers must be able to stream via your Wi-Fi network. Hi-Fi speakers are too old for that.
Your iMac must be a mid 2011 or newer running v10.8 Mountain Lion or later to use AirPlay >  About AirPlay Mirroring in OS X

can i use an old eprint email account with a new printer?

    Hello arbazu,
Unfortunately, when setting up a new/replacement printer, you wont be able to use the same email address, nor can it be transferred to another printer. Once an email is used, the email address itself is not able to be used for a certain period of time (which I believe is 6 months).
However, by creating a new email address, but adding an 01 or 02 at the end, you can get something very similar to what you had previously.

  • Can i use my Corp discount to buy a phone and pay the balance after discount thru Edge?

Can i use my Corp discount to buy a phone and pay the balance after discount thru Edge?
Are Corporate discounts usable against the full purchase price of the phone?
How does Corporate discount work on More Everything Edge.

Ok so another question are you going to pay full price up front for the phone, use Edge or do it on a subsidy? Also which model since they vary in price from $650-$950.
Line fees on a More Everything plan are typically $40 per line.As I said being on Edge or being off contract would reduce that by $25 if you have a 10 GB data plan as you state you would. The 10 GB data portion is $100 but since your discount is 26% it will only cost $74.
So to keep this simple until I get more info from you if you still had all 3 lines under contract, 3 smartphone lines and 10 GB with a 26% discount would be $194 a month before taxes and fees.
Since you have 2 lines currently of contract, if you kept using your current phones or paid full price upfront for new phones you'd have 2 month2month discounts of $25 so that would drop your bill to $144 before taxes/fees
If you bought the cheapest iPhone 6 on Edge your Edge payment would be $32.50 a month for 20 months. So for two iPhones 6es( assuming you got the cheapest one ) that would be $65. That would on top of the $144. So a total of $209

  • Can't use my old HDD after upgrading with new one,old is GPT protected

Hi everyone! First of all I would like to thank you in advance!
Recently I upgraded my old HDD on my MacBookPro. I made a clone of the old disk, installed the new one in the MBP and putted the old one in external enclosure. Now I'm trying to use the old disk with the enclosure, but it doesn't appear in Finder, it appears in Disk Tools, but I can not perform any actions on it. I tried to erase it, but with no success! The old disk is GPT protected and I don't know what to do. Tried to erase it with Windows and Linux with no success neither. I know the enclosure works because it recognize every other disk, but my old one is untouchable to my Mac OS! I'm looking for possible ideas on how to make my old HDD usable with the enclosure?

Can't really help with your Internet issues, but I can put you on the path to leaning more about Macs.
If you're a former Windows user, there many resources on Apple's web site to get yourself familiar with how Macs and OS X work.
Here ard a few areas to spend time with
    http://www.apple.com/support/macbasics/
    http://www.apple.com/support/imac/intel/
    http://support.apple.com/videos/
    http://www.apple.com/support/lion/
    http://www.apple.com/support/osx/
For the video tutorials, in the video search box, just type in OS X. You'll get a list of OS X video tutorials to watch  as you learn to use your iMac.
Start with the Anatomy of a Mac video first, Then the Finder Basics video second. After you have watched and put to use these two videos, you can watch any other OS X video you want in any order.
Here is a free eBook download of David Pogue's OS X Snow Leopard The Missing Manual here. While OS X 10.7 LIon and OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion work a bit differently than OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, there are many things that still apply.

  • Can I use an old Windows hard drive with Boot Camp?

I have an old windows desktop that has FL Studio files I want to transfer to Logic Pro. I'm working on a Mac Pro with 4 hard drive bays and only 3 hard drives.
I understand that Boot Camp lets you boot Wndows, but can I install Boot Camp without erasing the hard drive? I just want to be able to plug my PC drive in, hold the option key, and choose to boot the Windows drive from time to time.
Alternately, could I make a disc image of my PC hard drive, reformat it to FAT and reattach the disc image?
    Thanks,
    Jon

You can, but it's illegal. A OEM version is designed to be installed on a new computer, not on a computer with an existing operating system, so you can install Windows from there but you should know that's illegal, so Apple doesn't support it. To do this legally, you have to get a full Windows 7 disc version and use it to install Windows.
If you need the steps to install Windows on the MacBook, read > http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_10.8.pdf

  • Can I use my old battery & power cord with my new machine?

    Hiya everyone,
I recently trashed the screen of my iBook bought in Sept 03 (by spilling water on it.) I've now bought a new one, and as the battery and power cable from my old machine are still fine, and as I could do with a spare of each, I just wanted to check it would be ok to use them with my newer machine.
Both machines are 12 inch iBook G4s, the only differences I can think of are as follows:
    Old machine:
    30GB hard drive
    1 GHz
    256MB ram
    New machine:
80GB hard drive (I had it customized)
    1.33GHz
    512MB ram
I'd appreciate knowing whether my old power cord and battery can be used with my new machine, so if anyone could answer my question, I'd be most grateful. Thanks everyone.

    Hi Charity,
Yes, you can use both. They have the same specs.

  • Can I use my old iPhone AC Adapter with my new iPad mini

Just bough myself a new mini retina but was wondering if I could use my old iPhone 4 AC power adapter with it i.e. plug the new lightining to USB to AC Adapter.
The iPad's power adapter is a bit bulky and anything so I don't end up taking a hundred power adapters on holiday tomorrow!
Looking at the details they say:
    Old charger:
    100-240v ~ 50/60Hz 0.15A
    Output 5V == 1A
    New charger:
    100-240v ~ 50/60Hz 0.45A
    Output 5.1V == 2.1A

Another option is that you can take ONLY the iPad mini's 10W charger with you instead of the iPhone's 5W charger. It's not that much bigger than the iPhone's 5W and will safely charge BOTH devices. It's really not recommended (& not considered compatible by Apple) to use the 5W charger to charge devices requiring a 10W or 12W charger. Yes, as was mentioned above, you CAN use the 5W to charge the mini Retina. It will take longer and the charger will likely generate more heat. Personally, I'd just take the 10W charger. It's safe and compatible (officially by Apple) with both your iPhone 4 and the iPad mini Retina.

  • Can I use my old charging cube purchased with and iPod Photo that has international plugs to charge my iPhone 4S?

I have an old charging cube that I purchased with my iPod Photo several years ago.  It has various adapter plugs to use in other countries some of which have 220 volts.  In the USA we use 110 volts.
Can I use the old cube with the proper plug to charge my iPhone 4S in Israel?
    Thanks in advance.

    The power will be okay.
If the dock cannot take adapters, I strongly advise you to not use the dock (if you want to keep it), without creating support for the iPhone. It will break; had this happen to an iHome with my 5th gen iPod, due to the lack of accessories to support the new iPod profile.

  • Can I use my old iPod 3G dock with my new iPod Touch

I just got an iPod Touch, and I am wondering if there are any reason why I shouldn't use it with the old dock that came with my iPod 3G in 2004. It seems to sync and charge without any problem, but I'm wondering if it could cause physical damage because it's not designed to support that shape, or if there's any other potential issues. The iPod Touch came with an adapter, but it doesn't fit my ancient dock.

I do not understand why a 2G Touch would not charge from an AC connector. I am charging mine with the AC connector which came with my iPod Photo. That may have been the last iPod to include the charger with the device. But yes, it charges the Touch just fine. However, my Bose dock does not work with the Touch at all. I understand that it would not be able to charge it, but I can't even play through it. Two other docks I have are the same EXCEPT that both of them have an auxilliary input and I can play the Touch through a cord going into that input, lying down of course, not in its dock.

  • TS2634 Can I use my old ipod camera connector with ipad [3]? I keep getting accessory not supported message

I have tried to use my old camera connector and it doesn't work. many posts indicate the new ones don't work either.  Anyone know if the USB camera connector would or should work with my ipad and my rebel T2i camera?  Would buying a new connector work?
    Thanks.

What do you mean by "old camera connector"? Do you mean the one that was put out years ago for the iPod? No, that doesn't work. The current Camera Connection Kit works just fine.

    thanks
(transfering my pc itunes library to macbook is not urgent yet....but would it be as easy as just copying the song files across? something like itornado usb wire....)

*can i use the ipod as a hard drive to transfer files to macbook??*
Macs can read Windows formatting so if your iPod was first used and formatted on a PC you should have no issue with using it as a removable hard drive on the Mac: How to determine your iPod's disk format
Just for reference, iPods formatted for Mac it won't run natively on a PC because Windows operating systems don't recognize Mac OS-formatted disks (HFS or HFS Plus formats). Mac formatted iPods can only be used on a PC that has a third party helper program such as XPlay or MacDrive installed.

  • I'm a pc user, going to enroll in NTU Civil Engineering in SG, I was wondering, can i use an Ipad for my next 4 years? Will the Ipad run AutoCAD? My gf's going for USM pharmacy, can she use an ipad for her course? Both of us would use Office a lot.

Please kindly help me, this might be my first switch to Apple.

No, the iPad is an iOS device, running a lightweight operating system.  It does not run MacOS (which is what you want to run Microsoft Office and AutoCAD) like an iMac, Mac Pro, Mac Mini, MacBook, MacBook Air or MacBook Pro.
Please see the Autodesk System Requirements of AutoCAD for Mac.
I suggest you visit an Apple Store to get your hands on the products for yourselves. The staff is very knowledgeable and will help you find the right solution for your needs.
Edit: Color me surprised, a mobile version! I would check with the Engineering department and see if using the mobile version is suitable or not as it has a limited tool set. I would lean towards a laptop like the other poster above.
