Yes there is!
Simply go into Settings, General, Mobile Data, Turn this off and make sure Data Roaming is also switched off! You can have wifi on and this will no charge your account for the data you use via Wi-Fi!

Turning off tracking and using existing applications in 10.5.6

I've just been forced to upgrade to osx 10.5.6, there;s no actual manual, just promo material telling you how easy it is to do all these things. Really insulting when you're trying to find out how use it. Particularly, i want to turn off the thing on the left of the finder window where it tracks everything you do. Anybody know how to do it? I also can't figure out how to run older programs, no way i can afford to upgrade everything, keep getting messages that my application won't run under the new os. What is going on? I'm on the verge of moving back to pc.

What you see at the left side of the Finder window is the "Sidebar." It isn't there to "track" you. Rather, it is a tool to allow quick and easy navigation within the file system. It contains shortcuts to various important locations, such as your "Desktop," your "Documents" folder, and your "HOME" folder (which contains the many of the others). You can also drag any file or folder you choose into the Sidebar to customize it. If you insert a CD/DVD or mount an external drive, it shows up in the Sidebar with a convenient eject button. If you are on a network with other computers that provide "services," such as shared printers or file sharing, these computers show up here.
The Sidebar is very handy to have around. However, you can dismiss it entirely if you like. Click the little button in the upper-right hand corner of the Finder window. This dismisses both the Sidebar and the Toolbar (at the top of the window), and causes the Finder to act much as OS 9's Finder did, opening everything in a new window instead of in the same window.
Which brings me to my question: Did you migrate from OS 9?? If so, none of your old applications will work. Leopard (10.5) did away with "Classic" support, and OS 9 can no longer be run on top of OS X. This is a good thing! OS X applications are far more powerful than their OS 9 counterparts, and generally easier to use. Adapt.

Only free or purchased apps from the iTunes store can be used on Apple's iDevices. Will iPhoto do what you want? There are other photo editing apps in the iTunes store.

Yes, but only in a 4G area. Both the 4G and the CDMA radio are used, each for a different function; CDMA for voice, 4G for data.

Use keys F14 and F15 to adjust brightness "just prior" to using front row. At least those are my defaults.

If the iPad looses connection to your WiFi network for any reason (weak signal, timeout, dropped connection) it will default back to the Cellular Data connection in order to keep you connected.
To be on the safe side you can always turn Cellular Data off while you are home to eliminate that possibility. Also make sure you are closing out of data hungry applications such as Pandora, iheartradio, and other streaming applications because if you do not pause them before exiting they could be continuing to use data.
You can use multitasking by double clicking your Home Button, it will bring up a tray as pictured below. Tap and hold your finger on your most recent app, tap the white minus signs to close out apps.

I thought I remebered seeing a tutorial on how to make page layouts for use in your slide presentations. I can not find this now. I am using the theme of scrapbook but have several pictures that should go together on one page or frame. I do not have iphoto11. So I am more limited I think. I do not have time to upgrade at this point. Is there anyway to customize my slide presentation in this way?

Yes You can in iDVD make it to add a folder with Your pictures too (to be opened on PC/Mac - not viewed on DVD-player)

Can I create a Flash button and use it to navigate to the next slide of a PowerPoint Presentation?

Hello all,
I've been having a bit of a hard time understanding how to get a button which I have created in Flash to navigate to the next slide of the PowerPoint presentation which it has been added into. I'm fairly new to Flash, so I believe that this is slightly out of my natural skill range, so hopefully someone will be able to help.
I understand that I somehow need to make use of fscommand in ActionScript, but I'm not sure how I can get Flash and PowerPoint to communicate between themselves. If anyone could write a walkthrough on how to do this, I would be bery grateful.
I'm using Flash MX 2004 7.0 and Powerpoint 2003.

Hi. Why not to make the whole presentation in FLASH? What you have to do is to import all the slides inside FLASH. Then place one by one in the stills and then create the code to make the stills advance and show the slides by means of the button. The code for the button goes as follows:
on (release) {
nextFrame();
to introduce this code make sure you press the button and no the frame.
Then in order to make the presentation open and cover the screen, no matter how big it is, you need to enter the following code in the first frame:
stop();
fscommand ("showmenu",false);
fscommand ("fullscreen", true);
You will need also a button to quit the aplication. This is the code:
on (release) {
stop();
fscommand ("quit");
Now write all of this in your application and let me know your experience. MamenFLASH$

TURN OFF AIRPORT IF USING 10.5.2

I've also installed 10.5.2 on a MBP. Performance for playing audio is terrible until I turn off AirPort.
I don't think users need to go back to Tiger. Simply staying at 10.5.1 is fine (at least, that worked well for me). If you've already upgraded to 10.5.2, simply turn off airport when you need audio performance. I know, it certainly ***** to have to do this. But for me it means I can go back to normal performance.
