Apple does not take trade-ins. In a few countries Apple does work with a company who will give you some return on an existing device; for the US, see:

Similar programs are available in a few other countries, and some dealers may have their own trade-in programs. But you most probably can get more for your device if you sell it yourself.

Is this true about Trade Ins?

I called my local Best Buy and the rep told me that the trade in phone had to be originally purchased at Best Buy? Does anyone know if this is true?

There are city, county and state regulations that do control what we can take as a trade-in. In some situations, we are required by those regulations to only take trade-ins that can be validated as purchased in a Best Buy store by the customer producing a Best Buy receipt.
This is why all of our trade-in promotions as well as our Limitations and Restrictions of our trade-in program here call out that some stores may have additional limitations that prevent a trade-in. Your local store should be able to provide you with more information around any particular regulations that they have to follow.

I want to find out what value my current laptop still has in order to use it for Apple credit toward a new laptop. I am not sure which new laptop i want yet.

Apple does not do trade-ins. You can sell it on your own through eBay or services like Gazelle.com or through your local paper's want-ads.

I've traded in games two seperate times and neither have shown up on my account. One was over the past weekend, and the other was at the end of February. Also on the last one, I wasn't given my 10% GCU bonus. Is there a place I can enter the transaction id's to get credit for them?

It is discouraging to hear our Waterfront location in Munhall, PA may not have accepted your Micromax Funbook if it was in working order. Our store staff is expected to be knowledgeable regarding the processes and terms of current offers, and I'm sorry if this wasn't your experience.
I'm sad to see that the offer ended before we had the opportunity to reach out to our store's leadership to ensure the appropriate processes are being used to fulfill the promotion for qualifying devices. As the promotion ended yesterday, 4/18/15, unfortunately we would not have a way to trade-in a qualifying device for the $50 Best Buy gift card and $150 Surface Pro 3 coupon. Does Apple Do Trade Ins?

I have a 20in Core 2 Duo iMac.
I really want the new iMac but I don't want to sell my current iMac on eBay.
I would prefer getting the new iMac from the Apple store.
I was wondering if Apple would allow me to trade in my current iMac and get the new iMac and pay any difference that there might be.
I know that I probably won't be able to do this but I was just curious.
Do you think Apple would replace my current iMac with a new iMac if it was broken??

Apple does not take trade-ins. However, some resellers may although trade-in value would not be very high. You'd be much better off selling it on your own locally or on eBay.
As for replacement versus repair read your warranty. Apple reserves the right to choose whether to repair or replace. Just because your computer is non-functioning doesn't mean it would be replaced as long as it could be repaired. And, Apple would determine whether the problem was due to actual equipment failure or damage due to negligence or abuse.

I'm missing points from trade ins.

I'm missing exactly 550 points from trade ins to Bestbuy.Only 110 points of my 660 over the past three months have been credited to my account. I'm not sure how to report the missing points from trade ins. Thank you.

Well, that's no good! Trade-in points can accrue quickly if you make frequent trades, so I can imagine why you'd be concerned.

In the meantime, remember that points earned for any given trade are determined by the base value of each product -- not the grand total after any applicable promotions have been applied.

Trade-ins down and value dived

So yesterday I went in to my Plover BB with a stack of games to trade in only to be told they were down for the day and to come back tomorrow (today). Of course, now the game value has plunged, a difference of $60-$70 for my trade!
I assume there is nothing I can do.............

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you have the right of it: we aren't able to honor previous trade-in values. If the trade-in systems at our Plover location were unavailable at the time of your visit, then the only recourse available would have been to visit another store in your area or process the trade online while the offers were in effect.

Normally an Elements license is valid for both Windows and Mac systems. So you might only need to download the Mac versions of the applications and use your serial number to activate them.

I just traded 2 games in yesterday and ran into the same issue. After checking my receipt and reviewing the online trade in prices, I did not receive my 10% either. It took 10 minutes to trade in 2 games and didn't even receive my 10%. How difficult could the trade in process be?
