Hi Israel,
It is possible to have same user logged in through differnt terminals or browser windows. However if there are say 10 roles assigned to that user, all 10 will be visible in all the windows. However you may open and work on different roles.. in the different windows.
Note that the real time collaboration features shall not be available if the same user logs in multiple times.

user session management with a login (Windows Live ID) which i can abstract various parts of the app from them depending on the users login id in the app. E.g How can an admin logged in the same app as the student have access rights to certain pages in the
app that a student will not see. How do i route different users to certain pages and can isolated storage store these persisting as a setting.
How can i know which login id belongs to which of the three users? How do i then assign different access to different controls of the app with their id,provide custom views routes,access right,session management. I think i can do these without an ASP Web
API is It wise? Building pages in the apps is easy but i want users to see different views of the app instead of one standard app depending on there login id, how can the NAVIGATION URI be used here. How can azure and features like active directory,azure mobile

Yes such kind of application is very much possible with FMS - with and without peer-to-peer. Peer to peer would save lot of bandwidth cost in long run.
But question of configuration is not pretty straightforward - it will depend upon requirements of your solution like how the traffic would be - whether it would be two way or one way , how high bit rates would be , whether it would be only audio or video too , whether one machine would suffice or you would have to go for bunch of them to load balance and many others.

Losing connection to db with many users

Hi all,
I'm using tomcat 6 + mysql + c3p0 connection pools + hibernate.
If i test my web application with Apache JMeter simulating 100 users (threads?!) in a page, after 5-30 seconds i will lose the connection to db.
If I redeploy the application it work again... In the tomcat manager I see 15'000/18'000 sessions :S

Using different Apple IDs, but the same for Find My Phone

In my family, we have 4 iPhones and an iPad. I want to allow each member of the family to have a separate Apple ID for iCloud. But I want to be able to find all the phones from the iPad. I understand that, to do that, you need to use the same Apple ID for "Find my Phone". But after researching it, it appears that Find my Phone requires you log in to iCloud. I know you can use a common Apple ID for Apple Store, but how do I do this for Find my Phone? I want each family member to have their own iCloud account.

I have read a little about that, but I need it to actually send a signal to the phone like how "Find my Phone" does it.
I have 2 kids, they are constantly misplacing their phones in the house. It comes in handy to send it a signal to make a noise, especially since they always leave the phone on vibrate, so calling it doesn't work. Right now everyone uses my Apple ID, so it works great. But I would like it if each of them would get their own Apple ID.
So let me ask this: When they set up their new phone, can the use a different (their own) Apple id to set up the phone. Not setup iCloud to start. Then go back later and setup iCloud but specify "my" Apple ID (like they must be doing today). And then enable "Find my Phone".
What does it buy them to use their own Apple ID when setting up a new device? Does it matter? The reason we use the same ID now is so everyone can get the same apps when I buy them. If iCloud and Find my Phone could use separate ID, this wouldn't be an issue.

UPDATE: Let me just add, we never backup to iCloud, we always use iTunes on our Macs.

Yup, i have the same issue, i reported this with apple and there is ticket opened for me with
the engineering section. more that month still not solved. I was hope after update to IOS 8.1.3 to fix!
But not fixed yet.

How many users in UME

Hi,
Does anyone have any idea on how many users can be stored in the UME engine without affacting performance?
We have a current senario with about 200 portal useres, but are going to use the portal with more users in the future.
The users are stored in UME and mapped to the backendsystem (so basiclly stored to places)
I know it is better to hav a own reposotory I was just wondering what kind experinse you have with many users in the UME.

10,000 will not matter.
In our landscape we have 60000 user access the portal.
Only you have to keep in mind , when there is good number of user in system , you have to properly tune you system.
Your hardware sizeing should be upto in addition to that.
Can you tell me how many server nodes are there in you landscape or how many application servers are there.

Remote Desktop Connection attempted with 2 users already connected no longer gets dialog showing who is connected and option to force user off

On Windows 2008 Server R2, when the maximum number of users are connected via Remote Desktop (2) and another user attempts to connect via Remote Desktop, the user is prompted with a login dialog. Upon login, a dialog is shown with the User Id's of the
users who are connected, their current state (active or idle for x minutes) and it gives you the option to request access from a user or to force a user off. Recently our server stopped displaying this message and now only gives an error message that it cannot
connect. It does not show the login dialog, just an immediate connection error message. So now we don't know who is logged into the server. This presents a problem with many users who need to deploy software or manage server resources. What setting could have
changed that would stop displaying the login and the current users dialog? Thanks!

i can't seem to reproduce this, I played around with my server's NLA settings, looked at RDS GPOs, the options in the RDP listener, checked the user account in AD, just can't see what would be blocking this
would it make a difference if one of the RDP spots is occupying the server's console or not?
are the users trying to come in when the two sessions are already used up using the /admin or /console switch?
in the meantime, you can try using tsadmin.msc to kick people off
you may also want to try testing this with various different OS and RDP client versions to see if that's the issue. win7 with RDP 8.1 client doesn't seem to have any problems for me

Can you share iCalander/Address Book with other users and restrict them from seeing certain entries?

I'm doing some research for my boss concerning iCloud. He would like to setup a way to syncronize iCalender and the Address Book between three users but keep his personal information private. For example, he wants to be able to update his calender from his phone about an upcoming meeting/project so that the three computers at work are all updated and see upcoming events. Same goes for the contacts. If he adds a new contact or if I add a new contact, for a client or whoever it may be, he wants it to sync up for everyone. At the same time, if he adds a personal event to iCal such as, "Dinner with the girlfriend" or something irrelevant to work, he doesn't employees to be able to see that. My first idea was to setup an iCloud account but I'm wondering if you can even restrict certain things within an account.
Anyone have any other ideas? They would be greatly appreciated.

iCloud appears to provide no Address Book sharing. You might be able to do this through Google, but it would be likely to be all contacts or none.
iCloud allows you to share calendars privately (editable if you wish) to other iCloud users or publicly (non-editable) to anyone - they would need a CalDAV client to read it, such as iCal or Google Calendars.
You share individual calendars, so private events should be in their own calendar which is not shared.

Okay. Your personal iCloud account really isn't involved here. If apps purchased on another person's device are automatically downloading to your device, it's because you have Apps turned on under Automatic Downloads in Settings>iTunes & App Store. If you turn it off, the downloads will stop. If desired, also turn off Music and Books to prevent these from automatically appearing on your device when purchased by someone else.
You can then control which of these, if any, you download to your device by selectively download them from your purchased list as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519. As long as everyone is sharing the same Apple ID for their purchases, they will all appear on this list.
As far a music organization, you should be sure all your music is in your iTunes library on your computer. You can then create the playlists you want and sync them to your device using iTunes.

If you are using Address Book, open it, create a new Group, select all you contacts by click the top one while holding down the shift key and then select the last one. Drag the contacts to the group, then send an e-mail to the group.

Was the music purchased via your iTunes account and/or did you buy it from other sources or copy it from your own CDs, or did the music belong to the previous owner ? If the music was yours then you can sync it back to the iPod via your computer's iTunes. If the music is not still on your computer then have you got a backup of it ? If not then for iTunes purchases you might be able to re-download it depending on which country you are in. If the music was put on the iPod by the previous owner then you will need to buy your own copies of it.
