1) I am working file to idoc scenario. i configured everything fine .but it is not showing any messages in runtimeworkbench.? where i have to see the messages.

check the status of your file channel..is your file getting picked up?.anything visible in sxmb_moni?
better check the message processing in SXMB_MONI.......if you get an error there orif you do not see a processing for your message then go to runtime workbench and check the status of your file channel

Hi Experts!
In a File to IDOC scenario , how to get the acknowledgment back to PI after posting the IDOC to SAP system and send the acknowledgment to the sender system.
What setting needs to be done in Sap and PI? Is it better if we have a BPM or is it good to have another interface to pass the acknowledgment IDOC back to the file sender.

For file to idoc scenario is there any possibility to get line items details or xml details i.e the segments and its related field details using reference id, transaction id or interface name or message id in SAP PI 7.0. I know we need to click each and every message in sxi_monitor and look for details.
For SAP(R3 System) I can create a report and set the job for specific time period so automatically it throws the details(like reference no, document date, invoice no from) in ftp path as .csv file. The same ftp path is maintained in program.
I wanted to check FTP--->PI postings and I have set the job at r3 system it is working fine and Im monitoring it too.
Now the end to end scenario is FTP--->PI--->ECC(R3 system). Please help.Many Thanks.

hi experts,
I was doing file to idoc scenario using business system at reciever end but that business system was somehow not working so that i got an error(unable to convert sender service to ale logic).
I got answer regarding this problem that system was not maintained in sld so we need to inport it from SLD.
But i want to know that is there any other way to check my scenario using business component or something without using business system..

I am doing file to Idoc scenario. I did the ALE configuration steps between XI and r/3. For sender (ThirdParty) system, I defined Business system. While defining partner profiles in WE20 I got confused, whether to Give XI logical system Name or Third party logical system name. Please clarify..........

in most cases you will only use one logical system in WE20
this will be XI's logical system - and you can route all the traffic
via this logicail system - this is the most popular case

File to idoc (Idoc is not getting posted in R/3 system)

Hi Experts,
I am having file to idoc scenario. In sxmb_moni i have seen success messages . The flag is checked on both sides.
So when clicked on the right hand side there are 443 idocs.but idoc is not posted on r/3 side. when i give the idoc number in r/3 system in we09 i couldnt find it? soi went for bd 87 transaction and gave the idoc number. it is saying that idoc is strucked in qrfc queue?
Kindly suggest.

hi,
if the IDoc is stuck in a qRFC queue means that the message did not reach the pipeline to be send to R3 so, anything in wrong at PI side.
please, go to SMQ2 and check whats happening. to know the queue name check the SXMB_MONI, select the proper message and scroll rightto the proper colum.

File to Idoc : Java Mapping

Hi Experts,
The scenario is file to idoc. In the file i'll be getting name,value pairs. For ex:
Structure is
MT
....Root(1..unbounded)
............Name
............Value
File contains:
Vishal....1
Raj.........2
RFC......10
Rahul.....20
Azhar....15 and so on..
I need to loop through the file. When Name="RFC", I need to make an RFC call with Value as it's input. RFC returns 4 values which will be used for mapping.
Then I need to continue looping through the file. On encountering a particular Name, I need to map corresponding Value to target field.
For this, I should have 2 mappings. One to read the file and the other for mapping. I've never used RFC and Java mapping, Can someone provide me a link or a solution for this?

Hi,
You can do this using a UDF.
first let the source message contain first line and last line which you want to eliminate.
change the context of the Value to MT ..
start a for loop in UDF ignoring first & last line like
for(int i = 1; i< input.length() - 1; i++) // here i = 1 & not zero & input length is -1 so that first & last field eliminates
//carry on string operation to separate name & value on delimeter space
String name = input.subString(0,.... to the indexOf space);
//similar for value also....
now you have name & value
check for name == 0052
if(name == 0052)
perform rfc lookup
else

File to IDOC stuck in the queue

Hi Expert,
I have a file to IDOC scenario. I checked in SXMB_MONI, I can see the file coming in. But it just stuck in the queue and won't send out to SAP system. When I checked the SMQ2, it tells me the status is "SYSFAIL'. I have checked my RFC, port, logical systems, profile etc. Just don't know where is wrong. Can somebody tell me what else I need to check? Thank you very much!

Check SMQ2 and double click on the queue with sysfail status.
It will show you a new screen with a more detailed error description.

File-to-idoc erro while creating IDOC

I am working FIL-TO-IDOC scenario.
my idoc : DESADV.DELVRY03.
while creating IDOC in target end created with error status 51.
the error is POSEX field is empty.
I gave the value for POSEX then i tried it is giving another error..'field POSEX is empty'
actully what i need to give for POSEX.
where do i find the POSEX value for delivery document.
Please can any one help me to create succefully with Delyry03 idoc.
I have another douts also..to create the Delivery document IDOC is DESADV.DELVRY03 is correct or not...if any other IDOC's is there to create delivery document.

This IDOC is the right one.
POSEX is the external item number. How many line items are there, I mean how many delivery items are there? Are you sure you are assigning POSEX for all the records?

File to IDOC scenario not working

I have configured a file to idoc scenario and kept the XMl file in a shared location on XI server.
I have also created and checked the communication channels correctly.
Once Everything is done my xml file does not get picked up at all. Also the SXMB_MONI does not show any messages for my service.
How do I find out what is the error ??

Hi Kapil,
Just check the File path that was in shared location once and the file name is properly mentioned or not..
And also one thing after activating all IR and ID just goto SXI_CACHE and press F6 to update cache refresh
And also in RWB --> Message Monitoring --> Adapter monitoring --> check the status of the sender

How to fill controlrecord in File to Idoc scenario

Dear experts,
Currently I have a working file->Idoc scenario in which I fill Idoc-controlrecordvariables as follows:
- field SNDPOR: name of XI developmentsystem (via a constant)
- field RCVPOR: name of SAP developmentsystem (also via a constant)
- same for fields like SNDPRN and RCVPRN etc.
In Development this works fine. Then I transport the design objects to the next environment. But when I want to test the same in Acceptence or Production, it won't work because the fields are still filled with the settings for the Development system.
Can I fill these fields via some systemvariable in stead of a constant? Or is there another way?

Hi,
1)Uncheck option Apply contraol record values from Payload in IDoc receiver channel.
2)Disable EDI_DC40 control record in message mapping.
this two steps will solve your problem at configuration time it will take the values irresctive of environment.so you no need to maiantain constant values..

File to Idoc - File not picked up

Hi experts,
In the file to idoc scenario when i post a file in the file server it is not picked up by the file adapter. But in the communication channel monotoring it reports 'Process finished sucessfully'.
Help me out in this issue.

if you are using NW latest version.check in Communication channel monitoring
otherwise in Adapter monitoring.
Check u r Sender Communication channel working or not... in RWB->Component monitoring->Communication channel monitoring..
in which color it is displaying u r Sender Communication channel?? If it is in RED color then u r sender cc is error one.
Check the following:
1. Name of the input file and the filename in communication channel should match.
2. The communcation channel is activated
3. The folder path is correct.
4. The Processing mode is "Delete"
5. XI server is up when u try the scenario
6. The adapter has status green in RWB Adapter Monitoring
7. Sender Agreement is properly configured

I'm getting IDOCs in the form of .TXT file from sender side and at reciever end we have IDOC. We are using FTP connection at sender.
I want to know:
1. Is FCC the only solution to integrate with PI or do we have any other option also?

File to IDOC Scenario using BPM

Hi Experts,
    I am working on file-Bapi-Idoc scenario using BPM.
    I have two conditions
1. If the Sonumber is populated then need trigger an Bapi_change
2.If the Sonumber is not populated from the file then need to trigger a Bapi_Createfromdat to create the sales order and receive the salesorder number as response from Bapi
and the response of these BAPIs should be validated whether the Bapi is successful or not.
If it is successful message then need to trigger IDOC or else should throw an alert message.
let me know the steps involved in this scenario.
can i send alert message to other email IDs or can i send it to only XI admin?
Please let me know u r inputs.

You need to have a BPM for this.
BPM design.
Recieve step(abstract asynchronous) for file structure
Switch Case(condition whether sonumber is populated or not)
if populated
Branch 1(of switch)
    transforamtion step:- mapping between File and Bapi_Change(Request structure)
Send step(abstract syncronous) To send the BAPI_change
Branch 2(of switch)
transformation step:-mapping between file and BApi_Create
Send step(abstract synchronous) To send the BAPI_Create
Block step(which will include the Switch step)
    trigger an Execption in case of an error(in any of the two branches) through the block
    The Exception will trigger an alert.
Now after the Block step there will be a transformation step(which will have the mapping between RFC response and Idoc)
Next is the send step(abstract asynchronous) for the idoc
In case if there is no exception the Idoc will be triggered or the exception branch will trigger the alert

File-Bapi-Idoc scenario

Hi Experts,
I am working on the scenario like File-Bapi-Idoc
1) Getting the file from external system, in the file
If the Sonumber is populated then need trigger an Bapi_change
and after getting the response flag as 1 from Bapi then have to send all those file fields through IDOC-.
Else
2)If the Sonumber is not populated from the file then need to trigger a Bapi_Createfromdat to create the sales order and receive the salesorder number as response from Bapi then
have to send all those file fields and Bapi response sales ordernumber through the same IDOC which is mentioned in the point 1.
Please provide the solution for this.
Is BPM required for this,if so provide the steps.

Hey,
     you will require a BPM for this.
     Steps.
1)    recieve step(abstract async) for the file
2) Switch case: condition based on the Sonumber i.e . whether it is populated or not.
Branch 1(of switch if Sonumber is populated): send step(abstract synchronous) recieves flag as 1.
Branch 1 will also have a transformation step that will consist of the mapping between bapi_change and Idoc
Branch 2(of switch if Sonumber is not populated):send step (abstract synchronous) recieves sales order number. the creation logic will be written in the BAPI.
Branch 2 will also have a transformation step that will consists of mapping between Bapi_create and the Idoc.
3) After the switch there will be an abstract asynchronous send step for the Idoc.
In Inegration directory:
Channel: File, RFC and Idoc.
receiver determination
File-> BPM
BPM->RFC
BPM-> IDOC
Now for Idoc you require ALE settings both on XI as well as R3
Steps for ALE settings:-
Steps for XI
Step 1)
     Goto SM59.
     Create new RFC destination of type 3(Abap connection).
     Give a suitable name and description.
     Give the Ip address of the R3 system.
     Give the system number.
     Give the gateway host name and gateway service (3300 + system number).
     Go to the logon security tab.
     Give the lang, client, username and password.
     Test connection and remote logon.
Step 2)
     Goto IDX1.
     Create a new port.
     Give the port name.
     Give the client number for the R3 system.
     Select the created Rfc Destination.
Step 3)
     Goto IDX2
     Create a new Meta data.
     Give the Idoc type.
     Select the created port.
Steps for R3.
Step 1)
     Goto SM59.
     Create new RFC destination of type 3(Abap connection).
     Give a suitable name and description.
     Give the Ip address of the XI system.
     Give the system number.
     Give the gateway host name and gateway service (3300 + system number).
     Go to the logon security tab.
     Give the lang, client, username and password.
     Test connection and remote logon.
Step 2)
     Goto WE21.
     Create a port under transactional RFC.(R3->XI)
     Designate the RFC destination created in prev step.
Step 3)
     Goto SALE.
     Basic settings->Logical Systems->Define logical system.
     Create two logical systems(one for XI and the other for R3)
     Basic settings->Logical Systems->Assign logical system.
     Assign the R3 logical system to respective client.
Step 4)
     Goto WE20.
     Partner type LS.
     Create two partner profile(one for XI the other for R3).
     Give the outbound or inbound message type based on the direction.
Step 5)
     Goto WE19
     Give the basic type and execute.
     fill in the required fields.
     Goto IDOC->edit control records.
     Give the following values.(Receiver port,partner no.,part type and sender Partner no. and type)
     Click outbound processing.
Step 6)
     Go to SM58
     if there are any messages then there is some error in execution.
     Goto WE02.
     Check the status of the IDOC.
     Goto WE47.
     TO decode the status code.
Step 7)
     Not mandatory.
     Goto BD64.
     Click on Create model view.
     Add message type.
BD87 to check the status of IDOC.
In case if not authorized then go to the target system and check in SU53, see for the missing object
and assign it to the user.

WE02(status check)
WE05(status check)
BD87(status check)
WE42 process code
WE47 status info.
